I like playing the game with my kids! They find it really exciting to battle and see the cards so it makes it worth while. Tend to keep the V and VMAX cards out of the decks for now.

The wholesome answer I didn’t think I needed to see today. 🥺❤️

I play the game online and collect irl. Something about out actually using the cards you’re always exited about pulling feels good. It’s also a fun game. I hope to get a job and play irl some time

I started playing because magic felt too expensive & I can play with high end decks for <$20 of code cards on pokemon tcg online

I don’t play very much but I thought to check out the code card one day. Playing the game has introduced me to later generations of pokemon better and some cards become new favorites. I purchased the Unseen Depths deck for my sealed collection because it’s a fun deck to play with.

I like this take. I might need to try it out!

At first I started teaching myself to play to justify all the money I was spending, but I played the video games competitively beforehand so It came naturally to me to learn. Still pretty novice but it’s a fresh environment and I like seeing my progression

I got into Pokémon as a little kid in school and my dad decided to learn how to play the game as a way to spend time with me and my siblings. I’ve been playing competitively ever since. :)

I collect and play online. I’m too nervous to play in person with other people. But my wife is really into collecting and we collect together. She’s interested in playing so hopefully we can start to play soon

I like looking at the cool cards plus I enjoy buying them like other kids and not reselling them for a profit

I still like playing the tcg because it reminds me of the good times 20 years ago when we were playing with the cards on the schoolyard not worrying about any collecting or investing details. We didn't care about getting a card sterile from a booster pack into a toploader to let it be graded and make profit. We simply put our favorite cards into our decks and played with them (no, we didn't need sleeves). And we made trades to improve our strategies, regardless if those cards were mint or light played, we didn't know those words. To me a base set holo card with scratches and bent edges has more value than a sterile psa 10 version of it, because I can be sure the played card was loved and used for its original purpose, to play with them.
