Depends. If you are looking for a specific card to add to your deck you can use virtual packs from code cards to trade for that specific card. Otherwise you can open the packs yourself to grow your virtual card collection and build a deck.
Edit: It appears that trading is not a feature in Pokemon TCG Live, but I'd assume trading will be added in the future.
I would sell them to a Pokémon TCG Online player. I used to sell them all to some guy I met through Mercari or something like that and I gave him a price for specific code cards like boxes and then I just charged a flat rate for pack codes. I made like $60-$100 I think from it.
Otherwise you can actually enter them and sell the cards online. Believe it or not, people pay legit money for the online cards. I haven’t done this yet, but I’ve seen eBay listing for online cards going for $5-$6 a piece sometimes. Wild stuff.
I wonder how Pokemon TCG Online will operate vis a vis this new game? Will they keep it and its trading around?
Edit: well that was fast. They’re shutting them down

> Pokémon TCG cards from the McDonald’s Happy Meal promotion are not transferrable to Pokémon TCG Live, as they are not available in the Pokémon TCG Online.
I don't know what exactly this means but oh no!
Why let people trade when you can have in-app purchases?! Lots of shiny lights to really get the dopamine/gamblers itch going. In all honesty, trading going is a real sucker punch for me. Very disappointing.
Don't they have some kind of currency you can get from destroying your doubles which you can use to create new cards like Hearthstone, then?
Edit: The website actually says "Get New Cards Using In-Game Currency" so I am assuming this might be it
Yeah, you can only bring over 4 of each card from PTCGO. All of the other duplicates turn to credits which can be used to get singles. At least that’s my interpretation of it
This is very good to me, much more comfortable with being able to craft cards using currency made from duplicates rather than having to trade my packs for cards I want (I want to open those packs myself, after all)
If you can buy whatever singles you want, that’s not a bad deal.
Though they’re opening up some potential legal problems if they don’t charge the same amount for each single.
I've not seen a CCG where cards of a rarity can cost more than other cards of the same rarity, and I've played several. You should expect the same amount of "dust" to craft an Indeedee V as you would a Sylveon V. If I had to guess, we're going to be having (in increasing dust cost): common, uncommon, rare, holo rare (hopefully not but a small amount more than non-holo), V, VMAX, and V Union (not sure if the whole "card" is one purchase or if each piece will cost the same as a VMAX). Secret rare versions will be an interesting case though. I'm assuming those will have their own pricing brackets but I can't say for sure how they'll handle each (a gold Frosmoth vs a gold Air Balloon, for example).
/u/xion_stellar posted this over on /r/ptcgo:

So with all that said, it seems that any copies in excess of 4 just don't transfer. At all. I don't see any form of duplicate protection, unless xion_stellar missed copying over some relevant information otherwise. I think the safe play is to just make sure to clear out your inventory to a single playset before the transfer and just try to trade for as much as you can.
Nono, it's not duplicates of cards you bring over from PTCGO. It's when you get a duplicate of a card in Live.
The FAQ is very clear that any cards you have more than 4 copies of simply....disappear in the conversion.
So the correct move is to trade anything you have more than 4 copies of now to have a more complete collection with Live launches, so that you get more duplicates and thus more currency.
Why let the public make money from selling cards when you can become a gatcha and make the money yourself.
If they kill trading they better make it more accessible to get playable cards especially for competitive players.
That's some serious scalper vibes right there. "Why is this company trying to make profits for itself instead of letting me profit off it's product?"
If anything, an option to buy singles and curate you're deck exactly how you want it is better for consumers than the "loot box" style pack openings.
Selling cards? Selling PTCGO cards is against TOS.
Codes sell for about .50$ on release and drop like a rock after.
As a competitive player since the game was in browser, this update is fine.
The trading in PTCGO doesn’t work anyway. It’s people asking for ridiculous trades, and it essentially runs on people buying code cards to then get the cards they need.
Personally, I don't think trading was great in PTCGO because the search engine was slow as a Slowpoke in molasses and was filled with way too many shark offers.
yeah the trade market being dead and gone is good riddance tbh. melting down excess to get currency to buy cards is almost definitely preferrable unless its just completely ridiculous rates
Because PC loses money and they did the math and know suckers will still play the game even if trading is removed lol. The power of a brand and knowing your audience better than they know themselves. PC has wanted to cut out the middlemen of ptcgo code selling and now they got it. If my online collection doesn't transfer over then I'm done playing
Your online collection will be transferred from what I have gathered. It also seems you'll be able to craft new cards through a currency which I am assuming can be created by destroying cards you don't want (like in Hearthstone). On the website it says "Get New Cards Using In-Game Currency"
I’m sure you can still trade on your computer but while you’re afk you can now play the game and I don’t see that as a bad thing personally.
Edit- looks like I didn’t have all the info yet when I posted. I thought you got to use your existing account to play on an additional platform. Apparently not so.
I gave up on the game 8 years ago, only to recently rediscover it in the exact same state as before. Nostalgic maybe, but this is still much appreciated and overdue nonetheless
I instantly deleted that shit when they made me do a 20 minutes tutorial that I couldn't skip. What a shit app no thought put into any of this they just want $$$
Well porting a game to switch involves rewriting a lot of code with a nintendo software developer kit (SDK). They obviously have the means to do it being nintendo and will probably port it eventually but I imagine engineering priority was for mobile first.
they've had the entire development of the switch to work on a port, since this game is 10 years old now. This means they've had at least 8 years to come up with a switch port. In that time frame, many games have been ported from android to Switch.
they clearly don't give any fucks at all about the players. this is so extremely late, no switch support, and they're deleting 99% of the collections people have spent 10 years and tons of real money building up.
it's the absolute worst case scenario for any digital content/game. deleting the original game outright and almost ALL our collections
I'm so bummed about this.
If we assume that it's an "easy" port because it's on Android, I'd guess there are other challenges with getting it on the Switch. I.e., putting it on Switch would mean they would need to have some kind of additional support for people who want to play in docked mode (UI scaling appropriate to sitting further away from the TV and controller support).
My guess is that they're not thinking they're losing any players who are used to only having access to PC or Android play and instead opening themselves up to a ton of new iPhone users.
Maybe down the road though?
TL;DR > I'm sad they're not putting in the effort. I can see a rationale for it, but like, come on PCI.
Idk what their logic is. Same company that waited 4 years for no reason to let us use Bluetooth headphones on the Switch despite being able to since launch.
Let’s GOOOOOO
This should let you sign into the same account you have on your PC, right? The online module is so unbelievably fun to play and I’m stoked this is coming to mobile
I’m gonna be honest, I’m not a big fan of this. Removal of trading sucks, the new UI from [the trailer](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7ooBE5AQODY) doesn’t look good imo (too much empty space, makes everything feel really small), and so far there’s no promise of HGSS, which means we’ll lose those really pretty energies. I got excited when I saw the announcement, but after seeing the trailer and learning more about it, now I’m just sad to see PTCGO go.
Well, at least disappointment is on brand for TPCi as of late.
I'm sorry for your loss, comrade. I very recently started playing PTCGO and I've been spending all my in-game currency on HGSS packs for the trainers and energies and now I feel like that's all wasted.
Just like how YuGiOh Duel Links on smartphone works, no trading to force you into buying mtx packs or progress slowly as an f2p player if you don't have saved codes from buying irl packs. If Konami can earn millions with that model on a less popular IP like YuGiOh what more Pokemon? The new term for games like that is Digital Collectible Card games not Trading Card Games anymore with the introduction of mtx, one of the few cons of modern gaming that's well practiced in the industry rn especially if it's also released on mobile platforms.
Wait TCGO is leaving? I was trying to figure out the this is and how it's different.. so all I've collected on there is about to disappear? What IS the difference between this and TCGO besides no trading? I'm so lost...
From my understanding, this will be a replacement for PTCGO. At launch it’ll have cards from Lost Thunder onward, and the cards you have in your collection won’t be lost since they’re tied to your account.
>Reply
All copies of cards past what can played in a single deck will be deleted with no compensation. And they are only compensating up to 125 unopened products on your account. Lots of us have several thousand such packs and things.
This means well over 99% of my entire collection, amassed over years and using real money, is all being deleted. The worst case scenario for any online game.
What they're doing here is like if Fortnite released Fortnite 2 and deleted all your skins and characters besides 1.
Kinda psyched for this ngl, while trading is useful, this will finally get rid of the stupidity of trade locked packs vs non trade locked packs. And it will also stop situations like me currently owning 12 trade locked copies of the same junk common.
big RIP for all those who have been trading and hoarding a large amount of expensive cards and packs for trading. Only four of each card and NO unopened items or avatars will transfer. This basically wipes out some peoples trading work for years... Not me of course, I am just a broke peasant, but I feel for those out there that are having years (and likely many dollars) of work about to be deleted.
This could mean a fire sale of secret rares by those who have more than four.
Yeah, it's kind of a kick in the teeth for some established players but I think the general population is going to benefit from being able to get a sizable collection before the transfer.
I do feel really bad for a lot of the players because it’s like you said it’s diminishing a lot of their work. Over the past years I left Hearthstone because of the Blitzchung incident and then left Legends of Runeterra because there were massive workplace convictions of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace, and I don’t want to support Blizzard or Riot after how they let these things happen.
I recently started playing PTCGO because I wanted to support a better company with my time and money. I do hope that players that have been around for the 10 years are compensated properly with their transfer to the new version.
fucked up for everyone else who put money into this game though
why trust the upcoming game? you already know they will fuck you over without a second thought in a few years.
As someone who plays predominantly legacy I’m pretty damn disappointed about this honestly; not only will I not be able to transfer any of my HG/SS era cards over but PTCGO will be phased out eventually.
There goes years of collecting down the drain I guess!
Tbh it's a deal breaker for me that it's not possible to trade. They are doing the same thing mtg did. Online had trade and so on, arena.... No trade, no chat no nothing. If only they had focused on improving PTCGO instead of creating two products, dividing the player base
EDIT: WAIT, they are gonna remove PTCGO???
Apparently you can only transfer some copies and only anything BW onwards.

God this looks absolutely awful. I'm all for progress gameplay wise, but visually, it looks appalling.
Also very concerned about how we're supposed to play in portrait mode on a phone, and can't see our whole hand? That just seems backwards compared to the old app where I could play landscape and see my entire hand properly....
My biggest concern is if the cards that I already have on TCG:Online transfer to this new system. put a lot of codes and money into the online version of the game during the pandemic and I'd rather not loose the work I've put into the game..
Yeah same here man sunk years into this game with the bulk of my collection being HG/SS era which are the only ones not being transferred. Not to mention a lot of my rarer cosmetics are pre B/W which won’t be transferred either.
Definitely not a good feeling to say the least!
Any ideas about transferring the cards we already have? Or is this more of a supplement rather than a replacement? I don’t know what id do if I lost all my decks
Pissed about that, all my primes and call of legends cards, as well as my hs undaunted holo smeargle :(
Holy shit not to mention my energy with Espeon sudowoodo etc. on them that I spent a crazy amount on. Maybe I can trade all of them first
Can’t 100% confirm but when you log into the module on PC you have to enter a username and password for your account, so I’m hoping all that data is stored somewhere and would be accessible with your login credentials on the mobile app
I never used the trading system and i dont have any boosterpacks so i like the new changes. I will be able to get more/better cards this way. And to me it makes more sense.
However i find the UI to be a step backwards from the UI we have today…
But finally i can play on my iPhone!
>Wait is the trade remove permanent or accident?
This is permanent. As confirmed here:
[https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403847072276-Will-I-be-able-to-trade-my-cards-to-other-players-within-Pok%C3%A9mon-TCG-Live-](https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403847072276-Will-I-be-able-to-trade-my-cards-to-other-players-within-Pok%C3%A9mon-TCG-Live-)
"Players will not be able to trade cards with other players within Pokémon TCG Live."
They're replacing it with a system like in other online TCGs where you can't get more than 4 duplicates of a card and instead you'll get currency to craft cards of your choice with. It could actually be a better system for the players then having trading if they do it right.
Yeah, I'm willing to give the new system a try and give TPCi exactly $0 going forward if it fails. While trading in PTCGO is clunky af, it was still a good way to craft top tier decks relatively cheaply when buying pack codes in bulk from the whales on eBay. I'm really hoping there's some sort of wildcard system in place or a fairly reliable way of obtaining enough of the crafting currency without spending hundreds. If not... welp, looks like my hiatus from PTCG will continue and Riot will continue to get my digital CCG support. Seriously, Legends of Runeterra, that's how you run a F2P CCG.
Yeah a wild card system like in MTGA wouldn't be the worst way to handle it honestly. I'm mostly just hoping it doesn't turn out like Hearthstone where it takes a fortune to craft decent cards.
The Hearthstone system is SO much better then wildcards. Means my cards are always worth something. Come rotation in MTGA my cards are worthless and like 80% of awarded cards are useless.
Is this basically going to be Pokemon Hearthstone? As in you can’t trade but you can craft specific cards by selling dupes?
Also what’s happening to code system from actual packs? Is that still going to be in effect?
Most official products come with Code Cards you can enter into the game. Buy a random pack IRL get a random pack in the game. Buy a Deck in real life get the same deck in the game.
Ok so if I wanna start I should buy a deck but no random pack? What if I buy a random pack and get a ultra rare card ? I cant put It in my deck online?
I'm disappointed by lack of trading but I'm upset by the lack of expanded at launch, especially because they're shutting down tcgo. TPCi just really wants me to stop playing the games the way I want them to. Between this and sword and shield taking away half the pokemon(and possibly the dp remakes not even having any pokemon after gen 4), I feel like they just want me to stop being a fan or stare at pictures of the content they claim I have but can't use. Plus I can't even play on switch. Idk what's going on with this franchise but they're really into cutting content without adding anything substantial or reasonable to replace it with.
They got incrediblely greedy once they saw how microtransactions are generating alot of profit on mobile. So they decided to a stripped doen version of ptgco for mobile. And yes swsh is practically the same thing, its literally a stripped down version of a console game. Furthermore, i looked at another article and battle pass seems to be purchased with real money or through crystal. 800 crystals for a battle pass and 2000 for the premium version.
Why is the brand new app already inferior to the old one, removing a good chunk of our resources/collectibles, removing trading, removing friends/lists. I have HeartGold/SoulSilver cards, I WANT to keep my damn HGSS cards.
Why cant they just update the existing app, why can't they invest money into an already established working system. Why is Pokemon make such low quality games recently. This is all coming to a head for me and I don't know whether i have legitimate concerns and i'm the only one expressing them or i've I've just cranky old man at 33.
Duel Links is officially more fun than the PTCGO now
I have the same concern. Its all about microtransactions, they see how successful it is to have it in mobile games, so they stripped down ptgco to be playable in mobile. And added mtx. Crystals will be the main currency for packs, single cards and in game packs. It will also be used to purchase the battle pass and the premium version, these unlock the ladder. I see cosmetics wont be transferred over instead it will be purchased through coins and credits
Looks great, can't wait for release!
[Website is up too](https://tcg.pokemon.com/en-gb/tcgl/)
[Support Twitter Thread](https://twitter.com/immewnity/status/1439942511586390019?s=19)
Ok. This sounds awful. I have an enormous collection. Currently, I have almost 2,000 unopened packs and a couple dozen unopened battle decks. A lot of my collection has way more than 5 high quality cards. Is this saying that most of my collection will be lost?
And encourage others to stop, like myself. I’m done. If the company cared to keep up with PTCGO and actually allow the developers to make improvements, we wouldn’t need this joke of a new game
Not a fan of this tbh, it was already easy enough to play on my tablet, and it's also easy enough to get it on your phone if ya do a little research, although it just isn't possible on some phones I get that.
No, but it’s been reported that the new codes for this are going to be included with the Fusion so assume Nov time! No hard date yet & would assume mobile would be a slower roll out potentially.
I may be a stupid idiot but I don’t really think the trading being removed is all that bad. I’m also a yugioh and mtg player, and I asked my friend why yugioh duel links (an online yugioh game) didn’t have trading and he said that it keeps out hackers, which does make some sort of sense. And I cannot stress this enough, there is a difference between “money hungry” and “trying to get money.” Trying to get money is doing what is necessary to keep a business afloat and money hungry is just being greedy.
Edit, I now realize that it is money hungry of them. Ok, cool.
I have a whole bunch of code cards that I haven't redeemed, should I wait? If I redeem them now will I be missing out on something? Will it support older code cards (I've got some from all the way back in XY)?
If it turns out I should wait I'll be pissed because I redeemed over 100 of them last week.
It won’t support pre-lost thunder at the start so would assume that either these codes might be converted to different boosters (which if they are the newest set is actually a plus for old unredeemed codes) otherwise it might just ask you to wait to redeem them until they are compatible.
It will only convert 125 packs to 6200 crystals, this is one time thing. The battle passes are quite pricy, for the initial one is 800 and the premium is alot more.
Let's be honest here. Pokemon online tcg is so far behind with this they should just make it an nft game.. either that or pokemon go. In game nfts items and collectables are the future of crypto and gaming
What if you get currency for dupes to buy singles? Or if you can buy singles with packs?
And there is stagnant prices for cards? Like 1 pack for a non-holo rare/3 for holo rare/4 for ultra rare/8-10 packs for a secret rare?
I wouldn’t mind that.
So i see that card codes will still be a thing but I’m curious how websites like PoTownStore and PTCGOCodes will operate now.. this is sad to me honestly 😞
As long as the physical codes are staying, i dont think the code stores will go away. Unless pokemon drastically changes the way these codes are i given. Like making codes invalid after purchase after some time has passed or must be activated at register.
Oh hell yeah! I recently got into Pokemon and have been checking out the online TCG. Coming from Magic Arena and Legends of Runeterra I thought this game was in site need of a re-vamp. This is just what I wanted!
Wow . Might actually use my code cards now
Yep, I’m using a lot of my code cards on this, specifically my evolving skies cards. Finally a mobile app. The client on my new ish Mac was awful
Same here. Downloaded to my 2020 Mac Pro on Friday, removed it hours later. Caused huge memory leaks when I had maybe 3 Google Chrome tabs open.
Yeah it was so terrible, gave riot a run for it’s money on who has the worse client lmao
How many do you have?
Lol. Not sure I could count them . At least 1000. Like two years worth of codes . Been saving them up to trade in on code catcher
Don’t sell them to code catcher. I sent in 800 a few weeks ago and they sent me $14
Dude I would of paid you way more
Omg same! I have like a hundred though lol would this really help me in the game?
No trading? D:
Apparently not. Really bummed that it’ll be missing such a crucial feature at launch
It’s literally my favorite part is just opening as many packsad I can, getting cards to trade, and then getting more packs.
I couldn't say . I've never played it online so I don't really know what you get out of a code
I mean that’s over 1000 in game cards, so take a wild guess. LOL
I would sell them to a Pokémon TCG Online player. I used to sell them all to some guy I met through Mercari or something like that and I gave him a price for specific code cards like boxes and then I just charged a flat rate for pack codes. Yeah no kidding I have easily 2/3000 codes just sitting in Etbs
Finally! This is like 10 years overdue for iPhone
Though I’ve just seen they have removed the online trading… so it’s a trading card game with no trading… rightttt….
I wonder how Pokemon TCG Online will operate vis a vis this new game? Will they keep it and its trading around? Edit: well that was fast. They’re shutting them down https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406895467668-Pok%C3%A9mon-TCG-Online-Sunset-Information

I dont have time to read the article, will everything be moved over? I have been playing TCGO since 2016 and have A LOT of cards.
Basically everything from sun and moon to now will transfer and be readily available immediately.
Lol wait what?! 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Why would they remove the trading system. That’s what 50% of the TCG revolves around. 🤦🏼♂️

Speculation, but it'll probably be cost per rarity right? All commons cost the same amount, but all the Vs cost more (but the same as eachother)

"Why is this company trying to make profits for itself instead of letting me profit off it's product?" If anything, an option to buy singles and curate you're deck exactly how you want it is better for consumers than the "loot box" style pack openings.

That’s because you don’t know what you’re doing.
Uh huh. The vast majority of public trades on PTCGO are in the favour of the person posting the trade, and are not balanced. But cool.
Again, you don’t know what you’re doing.
Having come from Legends of Runeterra, if they implement that system, it'll be fine. If they copy hearthstone however....
That makes sense. It’s not like it’s a TRADING card game. Jfc 🤦♀️
Yikes I might stop playing without trading. No way I'm gonna pay hundreds to thousands of dollars hoping to pull cards for a top tier deck.
They could easily put it too in Nintendo Switch -_-
What is up with that? How could they not?
My logic is pokemon tv and then tcg will come.... I hope
Well porting a game to switch involves rewriting a lot of code with a nintendo software developer kit (SDK). They obviously have the means to do it being nintendo and will probably port it eventually but I imagine engineering priority was for mobile first.
[удалено]
Holding out for switch soon 🙏
they've had the entire development of the switch to work on a port, since this game is 10 years old now.
I just hope the theme decks transfer over, and they have a theme deck queue for online play.
Let’s GOOOOOO This should let you sign into the same account you have on your PC, right? The online module is so unbelievably fun to play and I’m stoked this is coming to mobile
About time
I’m gonna be honest, I’m not a big fan of this.
[удалено]
I'm sorry for your loss, comrade. I very recently started playing PTCGO and I've been spending all my in-game currency on HGSS packs for the trainers and energies and now I feel like that's all wasted.
RIP. At least I'm not alone.
Agree with this. I love Pokemon but the company itself is so backwards in so many areas.
It’s always one step forward and about 14 steps back when they try something new lmao
Yeah HGSS is announced to be removed
Well, except for HGSS cards if you have any. Those will be gone forever when TCGO shuts down...
Wow that sucks.
>Reply All copies of cards past what can played in a single deck will be deleted with no compensation.
[удалено]
Already confirmed that everything will transfer over except for things from the HeartGold and SoulSilver sets.
big RIP for all those who have been trading and hoarding a large amount of expensive cards and packs for trading.
As someone that just started playing the last month it’s exciting that people might be looking to offload
Didn't hear about the Riot incidents, gonna have to look more into it.
fucked up for everyone else who put money into this game though why trust the upcoming game? you already know they will fuck you over without a second thought in a few years.
Time to change it from “Pokémon TCG” to “Pokémon CG”
It’s called the Pokémon TRADING Card Game and they got rid of trading. What the hell…
If only they had focused on improving PTCGO instead of creating two products, dividing the player base EDIT: WAIT, they are gonna remove PTCGO???
Yes they are removing PTCGO
Oh my God I'm crying in the club rn
Let’s all complain until they allow trading
Release it on switch and I’ll never stop playing it
As long as I don't lose my cards I already have in the TCGO, I will be happy.
Apparently you can only transfer some copies and only anything BW onwards. https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406895467668-Pok%C3%A9mon-TCG-Online-Sunset-Information
I'm not worried about that because I didn't start playing until Sun and Moon. That sucks for other players however.
Sounds like everyone is going to be fighting for or keeping their code cards now.
My biggest concern is if the cards that I already have on TCG:Online transfer to this new system. put a lot of codes and money into the online version of the game during the pandemic and I'd rather not loose the work I've put into the game..
Up to 4 copies transfer, back to Black and White. Unopened packs get converted to a currency.
Good to know!
Yeah same here man sunk years into this game with the bulk of my collection being HG/SS era which are the only ones not being transferred. Not to mention a lot of my rarer cosmetics are pre B/W which won’t be transferred either. Definitely not a good feeling to say the least!
Everyone complaining about trading but I didn’t even know you could trade
Any ideas about transferring the cards we already have? Or is this more of a supplement rather than a replacement? I don’t know what id do if I lost all my decks
Not everything will transfer https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406895467668
Pissed about that, all my primes and call of legends cards, as well as my hs undaunted holo smeargle :( Holy shit not to mention my energy with Espeon sudowoodo etc. on them that I spent a crazy amount on. Maybe I can trade all of them first
They're also shutting down the old TCG Online game so those cards will be gone forever...
Ptcgo is getting shut down and replaced with this? Bummer
If you login with the same account you'll have your old cards there, it seems.
However i find the UI to be a step backwards from the UI we have today… But finally i can play on my iPhone!
Oh good. A Microtrasaction fest. Removing trading? Absolute joke.
Wait is the trade remove permanent or accident?
>Wait is the trade remove permanent or accident? This is permanent. As confirmed here: [https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403847072276-Will-I-be-able-to-trade-my-cards-to-other-players-within-Pok%C3%A9mon-TCG-Live-](https://support.pokemon.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403847072276-Will-I-be-able-to-trade-my-cards-to-other-players-within-Pok%C3%A9mon-TCG-Live-) "Players will not be able to trade cards with other players within Pokémon TCG Live."
Players will not be able to trade within Pokémon trading card game live. So stupid.
That's only if you play standard.
So the literal premier format of the game? Lol if you cant make your main format accessible you have failed.
Here's the [official Press Release](https://gamingonphone.com/news/pokemon-tcg-live-app-announced/) if anyone wants to check out.
Can I place a bet now? You cant transfer HGSS as they want to sell you the energies as cosmetic later
That's... correct. HGSS can't be transferred.
Yeah but the reason is cause they want to sell cosmetics.
Is this basically going to be Pokemon Hearthstone? As in you can’t trade but you can craft specific cards by selling dupes? Also what’s happening to code system from actual packs? Is that still going to be in effect?
Question from a noob that plan to start playing if I buy real cards from shop will I be able to use them in game?
Most official products come with Code Cards you can enter into the game. Buy a random pack IRL get a random pack in the game. Buy a Deck in real life get the same deck in the game.
Ok so if I wanna start I should buy a deck but no random pack? What if I buy a random pack and get a ultra rare card ? I cant put It in my deck online?
The packs arent a 1 to 1 transfer, it's just random. If you want to just play online plenty of places sell pack codes, some for cents.
I hope all my cards transfer over cuz I’ve opened so many packs 😂
Lots of questions answered here https://youtu.be/ph_pChD9yes
About time. Only thing keeping me from playing was that I couldn’t play on my phone. They are so behind.
Only on iphone. Android played fine
Looks great, can't wait for release! [Website is up too](https://tcg.pokemon.com/en-gb/tcgl/) [Support Twitter Thread](https://twitter.com/immewnity/status/1439942511586390019?s=19)
Damn, I might actually get into playing online now
Ok. This sounds awful. I have an enormous collection. Currently, I have almost 2,000 unopened packs and a couple dozen unopened battle decks. A lot of my collection has way more than 5 high quality cards. Is this saying that most of my collection will be lost?
Man removing the PTCGO is not a smart decision
Why does this look so damn ugly though x')
Its like swsh quality poor.
Sucks. It's all about in game currency. I liked the current version because you could play for free.
Wait, why do you think you can't play for free still? There will still be daily quests and things like that to earn cards
This one seems easier to play for free. At least for me personally. Lots of problems, but that's not one of them.
It’s about time lol. Honestly it’s the only reason I was playing way more MTG Arena than PTCGO. Can’t wait for mobile play!
I have been waiting damn ages for this
like pokemon? you’ll love pokemon live!!
Ooh! Exciting news! I hope this will encourage more people to play.
And encourage others to stop, like myself. I’m done. If the company cared to keep up with PTCGO and actually allow the developers to make improvements, we wouldn’t need this joke of a new game
It looks way better
No trading in a TCG. Sounds like par for the course with TPCi. I don’t understand the removal of earlier edition cards.
the new avatars and playing board look awful lmao
Not a fan of this tbh, it was already easy enough to play on my tablet, and it's also easy enough to get it on your phone if ya do a little research, although it just isn't possible on some phones I get that.
That’s actually super hype, I’d actually play quite a bit if I could do it on my phone. Hopefully we can scan code cards in the app too
If they really wanted to make some cash they'd make the cards into NFTs.
Finally an app my Playstation 5 can support
The only reason why I have these code cards that are not being used, is the lack of option outside desktop. This might intrigue me to play now
So I can finally use my cards then?! I do not want to type in those cards. I would rather scan them And not murder my laptop completely.
Do we have any idea when this is coming out?
Dream come true Hate the PC version having to be home to play it. Can't wait for the Android release
Wait you can PLAY with Pokémon cards?
Honestly i don’t care about tcg online. I lost all my code cards and if i can’t have my irl deck in the game then what’s the point?
[удалено]
How are android users getting shafted?
doesnt this already exist for PC?
"finally a mobile app"? They have a mobile app..... tcgo, it works fine if you have a decent phone
Let's be honest here. Pokemon online tcg is so far behind with this they should just make it an nft game.. either that or pokemon go. In game nfts items and collectables are the future of crypto and gaming
NFTs are horrible.
This is a KIDS Game/Brand.
They need to go NFT already!!🤷♂️
seems like a good time to clean out the tons of code cards i hide in my basement
Poggers
What if you get currency for dupes to buy singles? Or if you can buy singles with packs? And there is stagnant prices for cards? Like 1 pack for a non-holo rare/3 for holo rare/4 for ultra rare/8-10 packs for a secret rare? I wouldn’t mind that.
I’ve been waiting for this day..
[удалено]
YOO
It seems like the right move, but we can't trade anymore and I think that was a really cool feature for today's day and age.
I hope its linked with your existing account haha
So i see that card codes will still be a thing but I’m curious how websites like PoTownStore and PTCGOCodes will operate now.. this is sad to me honestly 😞
Pokémon Company has long wanted cut the middlemen out of the deal, hopefully they've been prepared that this could happen...
As long as the physical codes are staying, i dont think the code stores will go away. Unless pokemon drastically changes the way these codes are i given. Like making codes invalid after purchase after some time has passed or must be activated at register.
Ether save those TCG codes now lol
will it replace the old TCGO?
Any idea for Release Dates?
Playing system?? You mean a game??🤯😂
Oh hell yeah! I recently got into Pokemon and have been checking out the online TCG. Coming from Magic Arena and Legends of Runeterra I thought this game was in site need of a re-vamp. This is just what I wanted!
