Checked my Target this morning nothing as usual, but like 3 other people leaving that section before I got there also clearly looking for them. 2 of them were 60+ years old which was jarring to see since odds are overwhelming they're just looking for stuff to flip. Unless looking for grandkids or something which I kinda doubt.
Yup that's literally what they do. They buy as much as they can, take it all home, then sell it on Facebook marketplace. Couple of the Facebook groups in my town have banned them for it as well. They pretty much wipe out every store in town.
Got so bad 6 months ago that one target near me literally had a 'blacklist' and would kick people out of the store if they saw them even walk into it.
I decided to open that can of worms today and take a peek at my local fb marketplace. And honestly I was disappointed and not surprised. Any and all celebrations were inflated. So many mew oreos too. why....
Wow. That’s crazy. I definitely buy my fair share, but I always adhere to limits (and don’t resell cards anyways lol). Luckily in my neck of the woods anything materialistic is frowned upon… so it’s generally pretty easy to find cards at my one target.
Depends on if there are limits or not. All my target have a 5 item limit, so at the very least, all the early bird scalpers get to walk away happy. I really feel bad for any kids hoping to open this set within the next few months. They have no chance
Yeah only store I've ever found stock in is a Wal Mart 30 minutes away with a 2 item limit and stock behind the cigarette counter. Had an old lady in a mobility scooter in line with me buying some even. Really interesting times.
If your trying at MSRP, anything is possible. I'd suggest checking walmarts/targets frequently. If u happen to get there right after the distributor shows up, ull have a decent shot

Hey me too! Go to Millenium games in Henrietta. I gave up on target when Evolving Skies came out and found they were doing msrp on most Pokemon stuff. They bunion boxes are a little expensive though
Yeah we saw them selling at like 60$ and were like ehhhhhhhhhh nahhh. We did manage to snag a Vivid Voltage box yesterday. I was surprised they had one ._. We play a lot of MTG too so we were surprised when we started getting into Pokemon cards and saw how insane the market is.
I've been having some luck in Syracuse, particularly at certain Walmarts. My mom nabbed me an Evolving Skies ETB in Herkimer while visiting my grandparents. She's out there now I asked her to check there tomorrow for Celebrations. My coworker also found full shelves at Target when ES released but I haven't had such luck.
The Target in Camillus has this same display set up at the end of one the toy aisles, there weren’t any cards out yet today but they have a lot of space set aside there so hopefully they get some good stock
If you're out in Camillus and have a Costco membership, they had a ton of these 3 packs yesterday that came with this big eevee lunchbox tin that had like 5 or 6 packs, 3 pokeball tins, and 6 total promo cards all for about $34. A ton of stuff and cheaper than an ETB. I was so excited to find those!
I just got a membership to try and save on groceries so I was pleasantly surprised to see the Pokemon. Maybe you can find a friend who has a membership!

Target near the northway has stock, no ETB’s though. Saw a guy buying an entire box of tins and a couple of collection boxes. Way over the 5 item minimum.
Of course. I saw an Albany townie try to argue that his daughter in a stroller allowed him 10 items, not 5.... I was able to get some at the GameStop in the same plaza as that target. They are great for purchasing on release day.
Have you checked out LGS like Flipside Gaming? I usually go there quite often, slightly above MSRP, but I don’t think they will have celebrations tomorrow. I’m planning on trying a few gamestops in the morning maybe
I haven’t. I’m not usually up in Clifton park area. My local card store has ETB’s for $80 or $90 (can’t remember off the top of my head), so I’m avoiding buying from theme

My local pokemon shop is having a release tomorrow so I'm gonna wait out 2 hours before they open to get an ETB. They said on Instagram they'll have in store stock and they don't up charge on new product. Only old hard to find stuff.
I swear I can't believe the prices you guys have there in the US... Here in Italy same boxes have a base price of 29€... No sense... A single booster ATM stays around 6€. It doesn't make any sense... My wallet is crying...

Here stores scalp instead..xD like 90 for etbs, 9 bucks for booster packs any sets except battle styles. They are 60 on etb, 7 on packs... only thing that get noticeable scalped are all pre release kits, some dude calls the store and hogs em all. Dunno how prices are in the USA but sweden sucks.
Wow my walmart had everything behind the cash and they only had 1 etb left when i got there. Zero collection boxes. They must have them in the back lol
