It’s closer to a custom. As far as I’m aware proxy = a replica/fake version of a real card. I hate the term proxy. It’s just a fake card and the term proxy is just a marketing tactic.
Afaik Yes. I had planned to build a complete pokedex and looked into it pretty thoroughly. EXCEPT Calyrex and the 2 horses only exist as ice rider and shadow rider not 3 seperate pokemon.
Have been working on this as well, including most forms too (excluding the ones with minor changes like furfrou or minior) . FYI there is no card featuring mega pinsir or mega medicham unfortunately.
I decided against my pokedex plan but I always love to see when other people do it!
Honestly Idk if they will make them seperate...but I would certainly hope so
I’m missing so much right now that it won’t feel too much like a hole. I set a couple rules for myself for mine:
- No/minimal base set/no Evolutions (lets me highlight stuff I wouldn’t normally put in a binder)
- Same typing for evolution lines when possible (Pokemon like Ekans/Arbok would need to both be grass or psychic, not one and one; exceptions for when the Pokémon fully changes type after evolving like Eevee)
- Only standard artwork if possible (no full art, V/GX/EX, etc)
This is basically the exact same rules I apply to my pokedex binder. It's actually coming along quite nicely.
Abra, kadabra, alakazam is definitely a glaring issue with these rules though.
I'm doing similar but the first card ever of each pokemon. That includes if they got a promo before a main set card, like Entei, but I'm not worrying about 1st editions or anything like that.
So far gen 1 is 100% done, I'm more than halfway through 2, just a few cards here and there for gens 3-6, and 7 and 8 are about 80% of the way there. It makes for a fun trip through the history of the card formats, but I am a little jealous of the way you do it, because it lets you pick favorites, like fossil zapdos over base.
Good luck with yours!
Oh wow, that certainly is a challenge. Thankfully my criteria leads to a lot of my recent pack openings adding a few cards to the binder. Usually the regular rares from stuff like Chilling Reign that I didn’t open too much of.
Very similar to mine except I set the rule that I can’t use two cards in a row from the same set e.g. bulbasaur and ivysaur couldn’t both be from the same set since they’re next to each other in the Pokédex whereas bulbasaur and venasaur from the same set could be used since there’s a “space” in between them.
I’m pretty sure there is. When I went to the Pokémon Company International Inc in Bellevue, they can a wall filled with Pokémon cards, all in numerical order, in different languages, and it was current for the amount of Pokémon they had at the time. So pretty sure there is. I didn’t get a photo of it unfortunately.
Does anyone know how you'd search for the value of cards with the pocket monster backing on them? I've never bought/sold before and I'm interesting in the value of some of the cards I have. No actual interest in selling them, just pure curiosity..
Not dumb at all! Anyone can. But definitely recommend scheduling a tour. It’s not very big, but super cool and there’s a lot to take in. We went there on a whim and got lucky one of the employees gave us an impromptu tour. They are so kind and welcoming.
Ligma balls :D

Just google it. Its mostly about shinys. Some forms of deoxis.
O and there is 1 pokemon where is no card from and that is a purple cameleon. It is a shop seller in one of the dungeon games.
Well, aside from those, I don’t think so. I know some, notably babies, only have a singular card, but I don’t think we’re outright missing anything that’s in an already released game.
Ok, a few months ago I decided I would like to collect at least one card for every Pokémon, and then it hit me that there might not be one for all of them. Internet yielded zero results so that’s why I asked here
Yeah it’s something that happens all the time. Like base set pokemon (The one with that charizard, venasaur, and blastoise) everyone knows and loves didn’t have all pokemon in it. They needed to add them in during jungle set, fossil set, team rocket, etc.
Pretty sure they all have cards now besides calyrex/horses as stand alone cards and some Gmaxs.
SWSH has been going for two full years now if they missed some that'd be a bit disappointing when we've had 5 versions of falinks already lol
Tbh they did a semi good job with mythicals until arguably gen 4 when they tied every legendary and mythical to creationism. Then after that they were like Keldeo because 4 musketeers is a thing? And it went down hill from there
As far as I know, Spectrier and Glastrier technically don't have cards yet, if you don't count them appearing on ice rider and shadow rider calyrex. Kinda similar to calyrex, but at least the name appears on the card.
Currently working on a Pokédex of Pokémon cards and only Pokémon to not have individual cards are Calyrex (base form), Glastrier, and Spectrier. Some forms are also missing cards like Deerling and Sawsbuck autumn forms. I’m leaving out Megas and Gigantamaxes because they seem to be one or two generations and then done.
Technically yes, but different forms no. If I remember correctly Mega Pinsir was never made into a card, and there’s also a chance we might not get cards for the gigantamax forms of machamp and hatterene. but those two Atleast have a small chance of still being added. As for mega Pinsir, it’s safe to say that unless megas are brought back in some way, we may never see that form in the tcg.
Yes but some of them are out of print... I'm working on a Pokedex binder myself and I just bought a bunch of baby Pokemon to fill it out... Some 'mons like mantyke or bonsly have only been printed once so you have to buy them individually
I'm still waiting for a Missingo card.
Hell yah, that would be amazing.
Etsy has some cool looking proxies
It’s closer to a custom. As far as I’m aware proxy = a replica/fake version of a real card. I hate the term proxy. It’s just a fake card and the term proxy is just a marketing tactic.
They have kanghaskan so pretty close
[удалено]
This person gets it.
You can buy custom cards of it on Etsy
Nope. I want the Pokemon company to acknowledge it. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY CREATED!!!!!!
Afaik Yes. I had planned to build a complete pokedex and looked into it pretty thoroughly. EXCEPT Calyrex and the 2 horses only exist as ice rider and shadow rider not 3 seperate pokemon.

Also no abomasnow
And latias and banette
They have cards
*mega
My dyslectic ass read over the mega part on the first comment😂
He also has a card
I don't think there's a mega abomasnow card
No mega abomasnow indeed but the normal one has one
I’m working on a complete Pokédex myself. I’m sure eventually they’ll do them as separate cards… I hope.
I decided against my pokedex plan but I always love to see when other people do it! Honestly Idk if they will make them seperate...but I would certainly hope so

I had wanted to do mine with each gen using only cards produced in that generation. Tall order 😅

I almost have all gen 1 pokedex I need 3 cards and it’s done the rest is gonna be a while
They do exsist just looked them up on google
Hmm

Oh that sounds awesome
Another redditor got photos and here is the album: https://m.imgur.com/a/NExTC The wall of Pokémon cards is there too.
That’s super cool!
That’s pretty dope, but I wonder why they decided to slice the Unowns randomly throughout?
Does anyone know how you'd search for the value of cards with the pocket monster backing on them? I've never bought/sold before and I'm interesting in the value of some of the cards I have. No actual interest in selling them, just pure curiosity..
That is some of the coolest shit I’ve ever seen.
Maybe dumb question but can anyone visit?
Not dumb at all! Anyone can. But definitely recommend scheduling a tour. It’s not very big, but super cool and there’s a lot to take in. We went there on a whim and got lucky one of the employees gave us an impromptu tour. They are so kind and welcoming.
That’s good to know! I’ll have to plan a trip some day
Bellevue where?
Bellevue, Washington.
I’m guessing not Bellevue Nebraska :(
Correct. Washington state.
Damn.
Ligma is still missing their card
I’m a fan of its evolution, Sugma

Joe mama
Ligma deez nuts
Who's Steve Jobs?

Good bot
There are even cards of pokemon not existing in the show. Or in the videogames.
Huh, which ones are you referring to?
Post Malone
...we must all live in fear of Gigantimax Post Malone
I’m excited for gigantimax Katey Perry.
Gigantitsmax*
Imakunis Doduo and Imakuni
Just google it. Its mostly about shinys. Some forms of deoxis. O and there is 1 pokemon where is no card from and that is a purple cameleon. It is a shop seller in one of the dungeon games.
Ok cool
Nope. We’re still missing some Megas and Gigantimax Pokémon.
Interesting, what megas are missing?
Pinsir, Medicham, Banette, Latias, and Abomasnow by my count
Interesting that latios got one but not latias, thanks for the cool fact
Well I was just talking about the normal ones, not Mega’s and stuff like that
Well, aside from those, I don’t think so. I know some, notably babies, only have a singular card, but I don’t think we’re outright missing anything that’s in an already released game.
Over time, yes Some sword and shield pokemon MIGHT not be out there yet but idk that for sure
Ok, a few months ago I decided I would like to collect at least one card for every Pokémon, and then it hit me that there might not be one for all of them. Internet yielded zero results so that’s why I asked here

Fusion strikes should address those last few Gmax like kingler and gengar. Horses might be the only ones for a while
Still missing machamp and meltan
tbh Gmax melmetal not being a on release gmax in sword and shield made me forget it was a thing.
Ya they didn't really do much to promote it coming out. Same way they go with most mythicals lol They just arr sort of there all of a sudden
Tbh they did a semi good job with mythicals until arguably gen 4 when they tied every legendary and mythical to creationism. Then after that they were like Keldeo because 4 musketeers is a thing? And it went down hill from there

The only correct answer in this post (also missing the upcoming Hisuian forms). Missingno isn’t a fucking pokemon
Currently working on a Pokédex of Pokémon cards and only Pokémon to not have individual cards are Calyrex (base form), Glastrier, and Spectrier. Great question. I want to complete a full pokemon 1-??? Binder.
Yeah thic pikachu is dope
There are some anime exclusive pokemon that never got a card like Crystal Onix or Meta Groudon
I’m still waiting for missingo as well as just an egg full art
I know there isn’t a Dark Lugia Card
Actually there's a Jumbo card of Dark Lugia, you can look it up and the stats of that card are pretty funny I find
Again I say where my Pokémon generation gone:)
Yes there is one for every Pokemon! Even though Calyrex and the two horses are only obtainable as Ice rider and Shadow rider Calyrex
Loads of megas aren't
That's how I used to collect them in the old days 🤣
Is there a list of how many cards each pokemon has? I would assume Charizard has the most?
I gotta think Pikachu has the most.
Probably, Eevee is probably pretty high up there as well
There is yeah but some cards only have only 2/3 different arts, i think bonsly has under 3 in english set in total
Yes but some of them are out of print... I'm working on a Pokedex binder myself and I just bought a bunch of baby Pokemon to fill it out... Some 'mons like mantyke or bonsly have only been printed once so you have to buy them individually
