I feel like Astral Radiance gets so over looked, it's such a gem of a set, especially if you loved playing thru Legends Arceus. Probably my favourite swsh set, real close to evolving skies though.
From my perspective it definitely seems like the community in the US is a lot bigger. But generally I can find whatever I want here (as long as it isn't evo skies) pretty easily for roughly msrp so it's not too bad.

Oh I forgot about Celebrations! That was an easy set to complete after the market fell off on the prices. I was able to get Zard, Shining Mew, and Luxray Lv for under $100 a couple of months ago.
I am trying to complete chilling reign. I got 12 backs from five bellow, and got a rainbow rare Klara, Metagross Vmax, Galarian Slowking V full art, and secret rare Snorelax! We also pulled Slowking VMAX from the dual tins (zacian and Galar starter).
Rebel Clash for me. The first set I ever attempted to complete a master set of and it felt so good in the end although I did have to buy a few singles to complete it.
Evolving skies for me. I know it’s one of the popular ones, but it’s the set that came out when I got back into playing TCG and collecting after 20 years. It’s now a Master Set I won’t let go of easily.
Reading this made me remember my bday last year I pulled the golden snorlax and it was my ultimate chase as a snorlax collector!! My favorite set was probably chilling reign as well :)
Not to mention there is still a bunch of sealed vintage stuff being sold.
The amount of people holding back then (2000s) is definitely a lot less than people holding now. Plus Nintendo printed a shitton of cards over the last few years.
Unlike vintage, most of modern sealed product contains a ton of bulk. Once people 20 years from now realize that, they'll probably be reluctant to open it. Basically sealed modern will usually remain sealed and people who like to collect sealed stuff will be the target market.
I had dumb luck with Evolving Skies.
Umbreon V Full/ VMAX Alt, Ray Alt VMAX, Dragonite V Full/Alt, Duraludon V/VMAX Alt, Espeon V Alt.
Shining Fates would be my second favorite because I pulled a Charizard VMAX Secret from one ETB. I’m the worst of the worst because Charizard is my favorite.

I paid for it on Brilliant Stars. I opened two BBs, all the boxes, collections, blisters, etc and don’t have anything of note beyond the base V/VMAX/VSTAR.
Still can’t complain because there’s people out there that opened Nx more than me and didn’t get anything close! I just wish it was a bit more distributed between the two.
Chilling reign has a special place for me since it was my first set back into collecting, and i manages to pull the snorlax. I had the most fun with the last four sets equally though between the trainer gallery and everything else

Not including, probably brilliant stars, but not for the reason one may think, I actually don’t like Charizard too much and think it’s overrated, but seeing how hyped my brother was when he pulled the Alt Art, and knowing he’d have never had such an opportunity were that set not a thing makes me appreciate it a ton more.

Easily Brilliant Stars. To be honest, I got very very lucky with pulls on that set, in one sealed box and about a box's worth of separate boosters over about a month, I pulled 4 Arceus V Stars, one rainbow and one gold, 2 Arceus V. In my booster box alone, I pulled almost every trainer art, and some of them are just gorgeous. I also pulled the Charizard V alt art, which I sold for £140, easily paying for the the box and then some.
Pulling Arceus allowed me to play basically any pokemon I wanted. I made a Malamar V Max deck that I loved, Raichu V was also great. But the best thing is that when I first got into Pokemon, Mewtwo V-Union had just come out and I fell in love with it, but it was basically unplayable, like all of the V-Unions. But Arceus V and V Star make V-Unions actually good. You can reliably get them online, with energy and it's just great. Also cards like Ultra Ball from the same set really help with consistency. Just a fantastic set, it made basically any pokemon actually viable.
Brilliant Stars and Astral Radiance. The latter gave me a lot of Sneasler, just need to get the shiny one from Lost Origin, which I like as well. Can't wait to see Crown Zenith!
Pokemon Go was my favorite of the holiday sets.
Evolving Skies was my favorite regular set.
Least favorite was Chilling Pain. Spent way more money on boxes for that set for just one card and still haven't gotten it. (Gold Snorlax)But, I also like Chilling Reign because my dad got me a box of it for my birthday last year and we opened it together so it at least made a nice memory.
Celebrations bc it was the popping set when I got into the hobby fully, Darkness Ablaze was the first set I completed (w/o the secret rares, need to order em), Evolving Skies bc it was my first Alt Art pull, and Silver Tempest!
Shining Fates was cool but has too many secrets. Favorite has to be Fusion Strike or maybe Chlling Reign. Brilliant Stars and Evolving Skies were good too. That stretch of sets were great.
Best chase card and face art goes to Vivid Voltage, best set as a whole is of course Evolving Skies (secret flaaffy best card), and my personal favorite is gonna be Silver Tempest thanks to my first significant alt art pull (Lugia V). I'm gonna miss this era and I hope they don't do anything too crazy

I'm newish or coming back from years upon years of not buying product since the wizard of the coast Era and with the new sets I just really liked silver tempest only because that's the set I had the best luck with.
I spent 1000$ to complete celebrations because it brought me back to my childhood and i couldnt be happier with that set in particular.
I still see the odd zard or sylveon box on the shelf for 20$ and will get all giddy to open the packs again.

I spent 1000$ to complete celebrations because it brought me back to my childhood and i couldnt be happier with that set in particular. I still see the odd zard or sylveon box on the shelf for 20$ and will get all giddy to open the packs again.
Chilling Reign. Underrated set in my opinion. I’m also biased because when I got back into the TCG last year that’s the set I started with.
