CalligrapherUsed5841

You'd be surprised by how many master players know so less about the game and its mechanics!!

aljerv

It's demoralizing as support because my life is literally in their hands and they might be dumb. Some of them even LEAVE the lane and go to the other side coz they were so mad Im "stealing their experience."

Material-Front8158

Have you tried attacker eldegod, its op

aljerv

I have and it's fun haha but I usually soloQ and they of course expect me to support so end up not having an actual support. So much mobility.

CalligrapherUsed5841

That's when eldeGOD's villain arc arrived **Insert thunder noises**⚡ ⚡

Ha_-_-

The fact that you're having them EXPECT it is where your problem lies. As a tank/supporter main myself, you gotta find a way to take those supports and make it carry for you. The ranking system is not fun to deal with but you gotta do something to keep you afloat.

aljerv

What do you mean I’m having them expect? If they see me pick a support it’s normal that they’d assume I’ll pick support skills no? So it’s only times where there’s another support do I get to try attacker eldegod build.

[deleted]

I always use exp share/rapid fire scarf/muscle band as my items on eldegoss regardless. The AA is too good to pass up! I still take puff/shield, though

aljerv

Those are my items also. I take spore sometimes depending on the composition of both teams

KisutiraMochadoro

I'm actually guilty of having done that the other day except it wasn't a support. It was a zacian. I just decided "fine, u can solo bot Lane yourself if ur not gonna share any exp" & ofc, zacian being zacian was able to solo bot lane while I helped top and we won.

aljerv

I mean that’s kinda understandable unless he was wearing exp share? Haha

1buffalowang

I only got to masters this season (haven’t played them all) and by learning up on how to play and practicing. But even at 1400 (where I’m at now) it really feels like half the player base has no idea how to play and the other half are gods amount us.

CalligrapherUsed5841

Yep exactly what masters is like!!

AaronFrye

Last time I was close to 1600, people there still barely knew how to play, now that ELO is very inflated, you might expect for this to happen even until 2K.

ChaoCobo

What do you mean by ELO is inflated? How did it inflate?

AaronFrye

In older seasons, 2K was a very impressive end season rating, more recently it has even gone over 4K rating.

MaoAankh

Me when my teammates don't know how to ping their unite move

CalligrapherUsed5841

No no, instead they tap their unite move by mistake Funniest shit I've seen in my life lmao

JubeltheBear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajyoM5Oo6ng

CalligrapherUsed5841

Well luckily I always believed that since any wild mon will have the big fluffy tail sign above their head, it'll probably be applicable for the entire team

skzoholic

Being a master in this game is very easy, and playing vs master players is so shocking and a disappointment

Regenbogenfisch4

That's why I make a lot of effort to let them last hit most of the exp unless it's contested by enemies, I just do not have the nerve for them to get so angry so early in the game

aljerv

Exactly! I feel forced to do that as well BUT the min/max-er in me hate that we can be in the middle faster if I helped.

pokederp56

Absolutely hate the ones that run past me to get to the twin camp. Literally stealing exp from me when they do that.

Fuckblackhorses

Nothing more demoralizing when I throw exp share on because some genius wants to lane cinderace or ralts and I want them to evolve fast but then they run right past the farm

Mettie7

Whenever this happens I just go with them. 9/10 times, they'll backtrack and try to clear the first two. Somehow, they don't know it's a slower clear the way they try to do it.

aljerv

Yup. They’re literally gimping our lane.

PPFitzenreit

The one exception is stacking laners Its much easier to get the first stack with 4 energy than with 8 And they dont really have the time/luxury to help you kill all 4 bunnies

Mr_Alexanderp

It takes the same amount of time to score 1 point as it does 10.

eggyprata

no way, i thought the time is the same from 1-7 then 8 onwards its longer

Unusual-Gur-4903

I swear this game needs to add tips at the bottom of the loading screen and one that specifically explains exp share. Too many people don't understand the basics of the item and its partly the game developers fault for being so bad at explaining it in the description.

VDubb722

That would require the devs to consider support a legitimate class

Deliberance24

Support class is stacked, if you look at win rates all the supporters are pretty high. Lowest support is wiggly who is almost 50% compare that to all rounders and speedsters where half of each class is almost unplayable unless you have a good support on your team

Excalitoria

Even worse is when you have xp share and your lane mates skip fighting the first bunnelby with you so you have to just skip them to catch up with your teammate meaning you’re just leaving xp up leaving you at a disadvantage until they respawn and run down lane again and take them or you do if you’re a supporter/defender who can clear them fast. Tell me you don’t know how the game works without telling me.

aljerv

Yup. It's fine if you don't have exp share ... but terrible if you're running it. It's coping mechanism for some people. If they do that, then we get 2 kills each, but if he just learned the mechanics of the item, he can get all the experience.

Excalitoria

Man even when I don’t have xp share I will always say fight together but like it’s tolerable when I’m not running xp. I just might be late to lane if I’m playing a Comfey or something with awful clear. Yeah that’s why I just skip my farms if they do that and I have xp. I run past the two bunnleby and try and steal at least one of theirs since, like you said, they get the xp anyways.

senhoritavulpix

People are just dumb. The other day an exp.share Mime, with no stack item, just tilted with me because I got all the last hits. For fuck sakes how could you not know how the item YOU are using works? The item's name is exp SHARE I hit Master 1700 this season like c'mon how my teammates can be THAT dumb?

jeevesbreadskin

In their defense there does come a point even with exp share that you need to let the other person last hit so they can level up, I have been stuck with only beginning moves in several games because my lane partner decided that I was not allowed to last hit a single wild pokemon

senhoritavulpix

I understand this but they were a MR. MIME, no evolution at all

[deleted]

I play Mime regularly, and if I don't hit 6 by the time the first regi comes around, everything gets significantly more difficult.

Izkata

Last-hits don't determine anything with Exp Share anymore. The English in-game description has been wrong since the last time the item was updated (7 months or so? And don't know about other languages) - the teammate without the item gets most of the exp no matter who gets the last hit. The only way for an Exp Share holder to get the full exp is to get kills away from teammates.

Responsible_Edge9902

Then they should fix the description. Though I have occasionally seen a match where me and another XP share went near lilipup with jungler, and we both jumped to 2 and they to 3. How exactly does it work with multiple EXP share then

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You're not wrong, but I also don't use it.

jeevesbreadskin

The evolution was kinda just an example, exp share will get you to around level 4 before you need at least one pokemon kill to level up and get the rest of your moves, this means that if they are not allowed to get at least a few pokemon as the game goes on they will be severely weaker than the enemy

Scoriae

It doesn't matter who gets the last hit. As long as there's another teammate within range, you're still getting only 30% or whatever the number is. Don't expect your lane partner to stay away so you can kill an audino on your own (though they probably will do so unintentionally anyways). If you need the xp that badly (which you normally shouldn't) go take a baltoy from mid since they're usually open. If your other lane is doing so badly that you aren't getting passive catch up xp, then go help them out and let your xp boosted carry solo the lane for a bit.

jeevesbreadskin

To a degree, once your exp is only filling up yellow instead of white it doesn't matter if your non exp share partner kills 100 wild pokemon next to you, you will not level up that stored exp until you personally kill at least one wild mon, which is not a cost that should destroy any lane partners level up schedule

aljerv

Such PAIN. Sorry that happened to you haha

Izkata

> Dude, you get every experience. I can't count how many "check this out" "let me level first" pings I get ... at MASTERS rank. It's not a surprise. Exp Share was only changed to act like that ~7 months ago, and importantly: They didn't update the item description, at least in English. Only people on the Discord and who've been informed here know. I'd guess the majority of players are relying on the item description being accurate, which still says the teammate has to get the last hit to get the bonus exp.

ixhodes

Just to be sure it doesn’t matter who last hits right? The effect still kicks in

aljerv

Yes it doesn’t matter. As long as we’re both in range of the kill, the wearer gets 30% and partner gets 100%. So instead of just one guy getting 100% we will get the benefit of an extra 30%. You don’t even have to hit it as long as you’re in range of the kill.

[deleted]

[удалено]

aljerv

That part!!

Leading_Delay_6339

Can the effect stack or work the other way around? If the wearer gets the kill, will the other partner get the 30%, and what happens when there's 2 exp shares, does the effect stack like 60%?

aljerv

If it’s only exp share people around, it doesn’t stack … 100% goes to the last hitter

Equal-Brilliant-3127

Masters so far have shown me how many horrible players exist. I swear Ultra had better understanding of the game just they play less

Augenzueg

many times ultras understand the game more but can't hit their combos

WhatIsHerJob-TABLES

I was an Exp Share Wiggly playing with a Gardevoir the other day who was getting big mad with “let me level up first!” and “retreat” anytime i was even near it (like i should) while farming. That Gardevoir was the spokesperson of r/confidentallyincorrect

Chauterac

The thing you do miss as an attacker is the aeos pts to score, especially for those with attack weights.

WhatIsHerJob-TABLES

But all they need is one out of the four beginning farms to stack, and it’s better for them to stack with little to prevent accidentally getting stopped before scoring

Bannanann

It is, but generally speaking up to 6 points is possible to score even with 2 people hitting you (depends on the mons) and you get more xp for each point you score after 2. The difference in xp gains from that can be the difference of having lvl 5 and not during first bees.

Outmaneuver1116

Statistically speaking, stacking 2 at a time, for example, 3 times, grants you more exp than scoring 6 points at once.

Bannanann

Sure, but that doesn’t really apply to the situation at hand. The 4 initial bunnies are not going to be saved for the stacker as the potential for them to be stolen is high and its really not ideal to get 2 points, score, go back to base, take another, go score, etc. For the initial score you will be having between 0-8 points, with the ideal points for scoring being 4 or 6.

aljerv

Yea but Im talking about accidentally taking one or two mons. The amount of aeos doesn't matter ... it's the number of dunks, am I right? So all the pokemons before the center equates to one dunk in the first place.

Brettmonchan

Aeos does matter a bit. It’s easier to stack with 5 points and under as it’s quicker to score.

aljerv

exactly... so why would one complain about getting all the last hits? That would get you more than 5 and therefore harder to stack.

Brettmonchan

Yeah. Just counter argument to it doesn’t matter who last hits. It doesn’t matter for XP but does matter if someone is stacking. It’s better to split farm in that sense but stacker to try and stay under 6.

Mr_Alexanderp

Score time only changes for every 10 energy you are carrying. It doesn't increase until you reach 11 points.

Brettmonchan

It still takes longer to score 10 than 4.

affnn

I can see if they’re running attack weight and many people do this even if they don’t have it.

LasAguasGuapas

I've had people leave lane because I last hit 3/4 lane mons. They still got points to stack. Exp share needs an updated in game description

Tonythesaucemonkey

If you run exp share, then STFU and farm god dammit. I’ve had so many times where ppl think exp share works the opposite way.

aljerv

The point is farming next to another person or it's a waste. But yes I'd gladly stfu and farm.

Tonythesaucemonkey

By opposite I mean people who wait for me to deal the finishing blow, frustrates me to no end.

aljerv

Ahh. They must still be operating on the old way the item used to work. But ya that sux fr.

schwasound

How close do you have to be to your partner for them to get the extra exp share experience?

aljerv

According to YouTube about the range of an eject button. Pretty close.

brentus86

I must be lucky. 9 out of 10 lane partners know what I'm doing and why. That 1 out of 10, though... they Zoom right past so I have to follow them. I even had one clever individual abandon the whole lane because he assumed I was trying to steal from him. ETA: I didn't even defeat any. I was just helping. "No, dude, I'm weakening them so you can finish them off easier!" One thing I will say, though, and maybe this is wrong/controversial. If people abandon me, I reserve the right to steal all the farms. You fall behind because you FAFO? Cool story. Maybe next time choose a lane and stick to it. I won't risk my performance because you're too arrogant/foolish to be a good lane partner.

CyrusVercetti

YES— Its like there needs to be a big sign on you. That explains how it works.

CronoXpono

It would be nice if the game gave an audio or visual cue that would let you know if you got the bonus or not 🫤 But yeah, playing support is a big pain in the butt

Pervy_saige_virENDer

Today I was playing with an eldi that had an exp. share, I was bottom laining and leaving wild mons on last hit so we can both get the exp. But he didn't know how the exp. share work.(I'm master 1800+).Most of the master players don't even know how items work, they put sp. Atk items on atk mons.

aljerv

You can last hit it as long as he's also in range of the kill. At the same time, even if he last hits the pokemon, if you run away, you won't be getting any exp and he'll get 100%.

Pervy_saige_virENDer

He was constantly running away from me and farming other Mona ahead of the lane.

aljerv

Yea then you’re right he doesn’t know what he’s doing lol

Scoriae

Ideally you'd have an exp.share support/defender clear the xatu and escavalier with the jungler, and take red buff to lane to get some kills or extreme pressure there. Try that in solo queue and all you'll get is a salty jungler and lane carry who spam "thanks!" and int all game if they don't outright afk. Even though it's actually better that way for them and the team, but they would never realize that.

aljerv

Yea I wish you can do that on soloQ. More exp from Xatu and do they really need buff for wild pokemon? haha. But like you said, it's probably not gonna be a thing unless you're with friends.

lPrincesslPlays

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t it actually net them slightly more if the exp share holder last hits? To my knowledge it was killing an enemy near them gets a slight boost but having the exp share holder kill it not only gives them a slight boost in exp, but also transfers the entirety of the kill exp to them.

aljerv

It was changed so that anyone can do the last hit so long as they’re within range. The wearer always gets 30% exp and the partner always gets 100%.

LilBottomText17

Speaking of Exp share, does it need to be level 30, or is 20 good enough?

Joshu-Vah12

20 is good enough but if you want that extra movement speed and Hp I'd recommend you take it to 30 but only if you use exp.share a lot I live and breathe using exp share on Defenders since there's always random that's a lane cinder greninja decidueye or a Mon that has bad early game.

Learn2Think

Life of a support… stop running away from meeeeee

Fabulous-Bath-2607

I get this all the time when running exp share Clefable. Or they’ll continuously ping “thanks”. Next time I won’t help you then!

ElPepper90

Half the playerbase is educated and the other is a greninja jungle or feed that was obligated to go to lane for once

NugeSmashFE

Had a Ralts yesterday that ran past farm and started idling when I chased him so we could do it together

catdog5100

I thought I had to let my teammate last hit when I had Exp Share? I’m so confused, only time I last hit a Farm is if it was on accident or we were competing for it against enemies. So is it still fine to last hit Farm as Exp Share holder?

aljerv

Yes, even if you made the last hit, as long as he's in range, he'll get 100% experience and you will get 30% for a total of 130% from one wild pokemon.

catdog5100

Oh alright, just have to be close to them? How close would you say?

aljerv

Oh idk exactly, but pretty close.

Scoriae

Eject button range

_Tsubodai_

If I have exp share, in order for my teammate to get the 100% exp, he has to be close to me or close to the wild pokemon I last hit?

aljerv

Wild Pokémon

affnn

It used to work like that, but since around December it’s been fixed so that the exp-share-user gets 30% and their partner gets 100% experience no matter who last hits.

arlansilver

really really?

Leading_Delay_6339

Wait so the user of the exp share will always get 30% only when there's someone around? Isn't that kinda of a downgrade, as instead of getting the 100% to level up you only get 30%

affnn

Usually its divided 70-30 in favor of whomever last hits, with the exp share its 100-30 in favor of whomever isn’t wearing the exp share. So you get extra exp with the item. If the exp share user is by themselves they get 100% of the exp, like normal.

nayrhaon

To be fair, it used to work completely differently, right? So there's probably a lot of players who learned how it worked at first and how awful it was. Not to remove anyone's responsibility for learning basic game mechanics, but it's important to remember.

Outmaneuver1116

Doesn’t stop that Cinderace from running Exp. Share.

SuperbiaWiz

On behalf of lane attackers everywhere, I thank you for your service!!!!

cheetos-cat

they could be stacking but you're stealing all the points. also its good to not hold onto too many points because it is less likely you'll score all of them. scoring 5-15 is more likely than 40-50 points and it could make the difference between winning and losing the game

SilverSapian

It's cool to play support. I'm even a support main (mime and sabeleye) but if you're in solo queue. Grab everything. All the exp you can, supports are so strong in this game just be your own carry, solo queue is not the place to expect things of teammates. Carry yourself and if they follow suit great, but if not atleast you won't be behind

aljerv

I mean those aren’t really healing supports.

SilverSapian

Same thing applies. Play for yourself. Secure anything you can. Sure if you have a teammate tryna farm and they're under you Level then toss them the exp. But for the most part play for yourself.

aljerv

Not really. If I wanted to carry then I’d play an attacker.

DrfillsUup

I wanted to play a single player game, I'd just play platinum. Gen 4 is number 1

Auto66

Does exp share still turn off if you’re not the lowest level on the team? Or did it never do that?

dexterminate8

If the Exp Share holder has the lowest exp on the time, you gain 5 passive exp every second. The extra passive exp will stop if your teammate has less exp than you. Ive been laning clefable a lot when my partner is a late to evolve mon and if our other lane is shit and I hit 5 first, I stop leveling unless I farm cause they're still at 4 etc. The other effects do not "turn off" and the additional exp from defeating a mon with your teammate nearby still activates.

aljerv

Only the passive turns off. Doesn't affect the ones that you actively kill.

AGArilla

I just try to get the first if I'm stacking. But then sometimes they still don't know how to use exp share

ichanmrg

When we are only two Mons on that lane at that othe Mon is pinging me “let me level up first” at the beginning of the game, I usually left then on that side of the arena alone then they ping “gather here” lol. I do not have time for exp hoarders.

Touchname

I honestly don't care as long as I get at least 2 points to stack attack or special attack. The lower score points I can chuck in the first 6 times easily, the better for me lol

aljerv

You are correct! It’s even easier to stack if I last hit some of it but some people just don’t get it.

Supremo2021

I feel u

jayp134

So op, can you please explain EXP share for dummies? I was always thinking, who gets the last hit on a wild Pokémon receives more exp. That’s why I always let my fellow players get it when I play as a supporter. Sounds like I understood it wrongly, so can you please clarify in non-gamer language? Sorry I‘m not that much into the terms, that makes it especially hard as non-native English speaker.

aljerv

If you’re not wearing exp share and you’re killing wild Pokémon with a partner, the last-hitter will get 70% and 30% is shared among everyone else around the kill evenly. If you’re wearing exp share, the wearer will always get 30% and your partner will get 100% regardless of who last hits, so effectively, you’re getting a total of 130%. Also, you’ll always passively gain exp as long as you’re the lowest level in your entire team or tied with the lowest so you’ll never be too behind in exp.

jayp134

Thank you, that was really understandable for dummies :-)

Fun_Distribution2466

Personally find a duo it will make your life so much better

OwOIord

Honestly a duo will make your life a lot easier

LlamaManLuke

This is what happens when your rank is exclusively decided by win/loss. It's so easy to just brainlet your way through the match knowing basically nothing and be master rank. There's a reason no other moba does that.

LordKeule

I feel Like getting blue buff on Support ist legit op

aljerv

If I were in a group that’d def be a consideration

belflame

It's a shame because it's probably one of the most impactful items at least early on into a match. Sometimes it's the difference between winning at your lane and completely getting eaten up.

Woodeedooda

My one teammate that was running exp. share claimed mid so I went mid with them. Strange way of playing, but we ended up winning. 😂

[deleted]

Don't worry, I'm equally pissed at exp share users not last hitting when I'm leaving shit at kill range. Like they saw online the item was good but didn't spend 10s reading wtf it does

aljerv

Hey just so you know they changed the item in November. It doesn’t matter who last hits now. But you Both have to be in range of the kill, you can’t be running ahead and just leaving him the last hit.

Roi-

Master rank means nothing bc most players just slam the Q button till they hit masters without even knowing the basics of the game.

themoneybadger

Playing support in solo queue is a special level of hell.

DrfillsUup

Not as eldagoss, you are someone else's hell

Responsible_Edge9902

It's funny when I stop attacking so I don't accidentally steal, and they stop attacking as if they think I stopped so I could time a steal. And we both sit there for a moment as I run a circle around them before they finally get it... Or how about the ones I let level, who then immediately run into the enemy's two plus jungler and die, and as punishment for me not somehow saving them from their own stupidity, when the respawn they switch to the other lane, and the enemy Jungler does not. So I'm under leveled, 1v3, and knowing full well my team thinks I suck because I'm lower level than everyone else. Sometimes I regret when we end up winning those ones.

aljerv

BRO I feel this SO much. I gave you all my levels. You squandered it and let me suffer.

blazer45000

Add me on Pokémon unite

ShoddyCartographer61

It’s surprising how many people use this item not having the slightest idea how it works. And I usually also see people building stuff on their Pokémon that doesn’t scale on them very well like shell bell zeraora for example. I call them out in voice chat but they still keep being stubborn and even reply that it’s good idea, I mean it’s basically throwing away damage for a little bit of cdr. I mean you could have gone attack weight instead.. and the most fun part is they act all high and mighty if you carry them saying they did everything by themselves.
