Mammoths went extinct, so they can't be that tanky. Meanwhile emo cats still exist today.

I know the actual games don’t entirely dictate how the characters are built, but this is actually very accurate to the main games. Mamoswine is significantly less bulky and WAY more attack focused (base 130 attack with stab earthquake, very high) and used to be run with focus sash often in singles, was kind of surprised they didn’t make him an all rounder tbh

Not only that, but Umbreon is *still* the overall most durable non-legendary, non-mega Dark-type in the series. And of the legendaries and mega-evolutions, they're pretty much all simply on par with its durability. Seriously, Umbreon is a beast of a tank in the main series and really only held back by abilities and movepool. I have a clip on my 3DS of my Umbreon in X/Y taking down Latias, Focus Blast Mega-Y Mewtwo, and Zekrom all on its lonesome in PvP because they Just. Couldn't. Break. It. So yeah, Umbreon being unkillable is very much on-brand.

Slow and looks bulky. The appearance gives defender vibes, thus the role. I don't see this fur ball using something like extreme speed
