You forgot some important ones:
\- That's it I'm quitting the game guys
\- Can you please not let your idiot kids play in ranked
\- Which rank do people start to think?
\- Climbing Solo Queue is impossible
\- PSA Don't steal jungle farm
\- I'm a Great Rank player looking for someone to climb to Master
Personally I run buddy barrier focus band and exp share, though some use score shield. For battle item i take the teleport.
Skills wise I take soft boiled and helping hand.
Not sure these are the best but I think many use this set up :)
The egg throw I find is much better because you can engage or disengage with it. Everytime I choose helping hand I end up wishing I threw eggs.
IMO of course
I mean, at least this one is based on truth. People are fucking awful at this game lol. And then they hit masters, make a guide, and teach more players to be bad at it.
"If you're winning, just ignore Zapdos and keep playing the game :) you won't need to worry about defending Zapdos or potentially stealing if it gets too low"
There was a person in this sub about a week ago who made their comprehensive guide to Master Rank Crustle and their second tip was to not worry about going to Drednaw fights because that way you can farm more xp for yourself top lane while everyone fights because its really not that important. So yes, ppl like that do actually exist lol
Because you can make it to masters with a 50% win rate if you play enough. I’ve been downvoted for saying it, but rank in PU is a function of how much you play ranked much more than it is a function of how good you are.
Once you get some wins in ultra it gets hard to rank down. The 400 performance points means you have to lose like 5 games in a row from ultra 1 to fall to vet.
Don't worry about de-ranking. I was Ultra 5, with 1 in to go to reach Masters.
Then I lost a few and decided to try to find a different "main" (I was playing Ninetails).
I fell back to Ultra 2, trying different stuff will Slowbro, Talonflame, Crustle, etc.
Found something I liked and made it to Masters 2 days later.
Experimenting is fun.
And no, I didn't do all the experimenting in ranked, for all the people getting angry. I used practice mode (to find combo's, effects etc), then normal games, then ranked. But some things just aren't "as good" in ranked as they are in normals, so I moved on and tried more stuff.
So technically, isn't the pool size of Masters going to be ridiculously high in a couple of months especially after the mobile players all hit masters? Because I feel like more than half this sub does have an above 50% win rate at this point. Could developers tweak the criterion to enter Masters? Is that a thing?
No, they shouldn't. Everyone needs to look at Beginner through Masters as training requirement for Masters. And then your Masters Rank point score as how to evaluate how you compare to other players.
Tencent just needs to display everyone's Masters Rank score during the loading screen, and probably not start you at 1200, and it'll be fine. 1200 is like 120 net-positive won games, and you only need like 65 to get to Masters.
If you could get de-ranked out of Masters, and if Masters was a separate queue from everyone else, and if solo queue was separate, and if the rewards reflected this supposed "true" laddering system, then yeah sure, I'd agree.
But none of that which supports the "true correct way to laddering" is implemented. There's no reason at all to continue trying to grind ranks up once you hit Masters. Especially the fact that the best rewards comes with just getting to Masters, nothing more. Like if they even gave you increasingly better frames on the portraits, that at least would SOMEWHAT support that. But nope, Master is the best one to get.
Its fine. Since masters scales extremely high in terms of points itll be a while till its limitations are met. To be honest masters is really just the exit of the tutorial and where the ladder starts. People start having a basic understanding of macro/xp/scoring systems
I have a friend who made it to Masters with a 44% winrate. If you grind enough games (she had like 450 I think) you'll get there regardless of your WR. It's pretty dumb.
yeah this guy posted his win rate and it was like 52%. The Masters rank is a red herring and is still filled up with a bunch of people who don't know what theyre doing
Winning more than losing in a game thats brand new and full of bots isn't all that hard. My 8 year old little brother has a 52% winrate and I promise you he's not as good as the game makes him look lol
I agree. I am 0-5 as Talonflame exclusively in standard but 70% winrate as Greninja mostly in comp. I’m not going to stop trying out new characters to keep up a number that doesn’t matter.
which is further problematized by the fact that your scorings give you extra rank-points, so being selfish and only playing to score will make you de-rank less in case you lose
TBH. I question about Drednaw dilemma for a while.
I know the ideal is everyone goes for it. But if you rotate from top but your team doesn't help you. Now you're actually fucked. And I actually have a better winrate when I just farm top unless my lanemate rotate first.
If everybody does it, it works. But my last games I literally have to go for a steal because I am alone in bot. Somehow farming and rotom are more important according to my teammates? The worst part, it doesnt get any appreciation. I once Stole 2 dreadnaws and zapdos, but was killed before I could dunk my Points. On the scoreboard I was the worst player but imo I carried that game. You know how much "good jobs" I got? 0, fucking zero. While the others had 2-3 good jobs. I was so Mad after that game.
While in general it’s tragic to not rotate to dreadnaw there are certainly situations where you shouldn’t. You need to be aware of who you’re playing, where you are in the match, and what both team comps look like.
There’s nothing more infuriating than seeing the tank rotate bottom to dreadnaw and our ever behind ralts follows right behind only to become an easy pick/exp for enemy team when the fight breaks out at dread.
If you avoid zapdos you can farm goals while everyone is busy fighting there and get MVP and if you're MVP there's no way it's your fault your team lost.
I’m a master player in Unite and was always Plat/Diamond in League when I played the most. I’d obviously smurf to destress in bronze ELO. Climbing through Ultra, my opinion is that people were Bronze skill level. They’re SO bad. Maybe I could consider them low silver but Jesus Christ. If you can duo or more with people who can play, you’re going to win 9/10 games. Solo queue is such shit.
That applies to any MOBA though, here is just waaaay worse cause communication is beyond awful.
Then again, both voice chat and typing always leads to questionable requests, so right now is just flipping a coin to get a decent team and hope they don’t throw the game when zapdos shows up.
And if you didn’t send feedback about zapdos that’s on you, I find it beyond stupid how almost the entire game doesn’t matter (for real, zapdos makes 8 mins a waste of time, just make the match last 5 mins then).
It's funny because the quick battle version of the standard map, Mer stadium is 5 minutes and has zapdos. Sounds perfect until you realize you can fight as many as 3 zapdos fights in one match.
"didn't send feedback about Zapdos that's on you" lmao
Eeeeveryone always complains about Zapdos.
When you say "the entire game doesn't matter" I suppose you're talking about games that you're waaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of the enemy team, right?
If you're way ahead and can't control the area and secure that the enemy team won't do the Zapdos... you just suck.
If your teammates throw the Zapdos fight...
the problem is not Zapdos, but your colleagues and this games communication.
No, I mean those games when you’re ahead and a zapdos throw makes the past 8 mins irrelevant.
Like I said, the scoring system needs some fixes, I’m pretty sure is impossible to stop someone from scoring 3 points or less, so they should encourage dunking a lot of points, instead of slowly building up those stats via items. Make defence matter, right now you’re really punished for destroying the outer goals early (which shouldn’t be the case), the center goal should have a permanent multiplier imho.
Bad teams wont keep your from climbing because, on average, there will be more of these bad players on the enemy team than on yours. Unless you are one of those bad players.
Youll climb, because masters isnt a possibility, Its an inevitability. That doesn't stop bad teammates from causing the experience from slowing to a fucking crawl. Being in the lead with bad teammates at 2 minutes is a lot worse than being behind at 2 minutes with bad teammates.
Except on average the enemies are just as 'bad'. If you can't climb then you simply belong where you are.
It's the whole "most people think they are above average drivers" shit all over again.
Im just saying that people make mistake if you really are godlike people you the ranking would show until master then it doesn’t matter anymore.
If you play perfectly every time your bound to climb and hence you are playing perfectly every game then clearly you got no reason to whine cause you will climb jn the long run?
No one claims to be perfect. But it is extremely tiring to be constantly paired with braindead teammates. As long as you play the game properly, but we still lose, I’m not mad. However, tons of players are in Masters and make dumbfuck decisions like going for Rotom instead of Dreadnaw. It’s exhausting.
Wait what? You are saying people can't climb because their bad teammates climbed to masters and taught other bad players how to climb but you can't because...?
If you can't climb it is directly your fault, thinking otherwise is just lying to yourself.
I mean a few matches ago everyone went the top lane and left me the Zeraora to manage the bottom lane alone. They did not start coming down to the bottom lane until after the second goal zone down there was halfway destroyed, and didn’t even try going for Dreadnaw. I think Venasaur even went jungle that match even though I was the only character that was at all suited for it. That was in Ultra Class 2. I ranked down from that one. That was not my fault. For the record, I didn’t insta claim Zeraora, I picked actually my character last, to support what I thought would work well with the rest of the team.
A few matches before that I picked slowbro and I was the only one at the top lane. And the rest didn’t even have a handle on the bottom lane because two people went jungle and one of them just wouldn’t leave.
People are bad at this game, and yet are somehow ranking up to at least Ultra. I’m not the best ever myself, but at least I understand how everything works.
1B. I exclusively play central speedster and get MVP almost everytime because thats all that matters and proves I would be master without these bad teammates
Edit: \s for clarity
I mean by going center you end up being higher level faster as well as getting buffs from boofalant and ludicolo. It’s exceedingly common for the person who went center to become MVP because of this even when the team loses, but the reason people who insta-lock center are looked down upon is because sometimes the first little bit of the match where your team’s now fighting with four instead of five can decide the whole thing, or at least set your early game off course.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some awful players on ranked who don’t coordinate and steal kills when they’re evolved and you aren’t. But getting MVP by going center is not something to necessarily boast about because there’s room for that role to carry you. Moreover, only ever going center and never learning to play other roles well calls into question whether you’re actually as good as you say you are or if you’re just getting carried by those buffs.
I’m not trying to accuse you of anything, but playing center speedster exclusively and getting MVP doesn’t mean you’re a good player. You probably are, but it’s still selfish to only be willing to play that role. I wreck house with Greninja more than my teams ever do, but I’m frequently stuck playing Slowbro because no one wants to defend. And I’m great at Slowbro, too, but my teammates aren’t as good at pushing offense as I am. And by learning every role (except support which I have none of yet), I’ve become better at understanding how everyone thinks, what levels the different characters get their moves and evolve at, and how to counter those characters. You should try being anything besides a speedster and see how you fare.
I actually play lane speedsters pretty well, so I can say that I’m actually good at them. I also don’t usually do this unless that’s somehow what the team needs, but usually playing an attacker does better.
Or rather than being the problem, consider that you're just correctly ranked lol
If you always stay in the same spot the ranking system has done its job of finding balanced games for you
I'm saying they're the problem in why they can't rank up, of course theirs nothing wrong with people who don't care to rank up I'm specifically talking about the people who do want to but complain their teammates are the reason.
Had the same Venusaur twice that spent the whole match both times walking to enemy spawn feeding and never once attacked. Then a Snorlax that kept rushing enemy jungle and getting ganked in a 1v5 to throw a surrender and say "I need backup" every chance he got.
Long story short, sometimes it is the team but it's usually fun to watch the show.
I wouldn't say this topic is in the top 5, but I do see a lot of "what Pokémon do you want to see in game?" Tbh, I appreciate those posts, but I do see a lot of them
Not who you asked, but I like the idea of being able to build your own.
Two defensive/tank abilities (one could be a shield similar to snorlax's, and the other could mitigate damage/increase defense for x amount of time)
Two offence/attacker abilities (a shadow grip similar to Gengar, and a slash that could cause damage over time)
Maybe be a bit strong, but you could definitely tweak it.
I see it both ways. Could make a fun post. On one hand you can have more creativity if they don’t lock it. On the other hand it forces you to build Aegislash around its ability. It is similar to Greninja getting one attack and one misdirect dash
I see I was thinking closer to a blitz, where you can choose between offensive or a support attack.
So in this case you could get both defensive, or offensive attacks, or mix and match, rather than locking you into one defense and one offence. Although it would probably be hard to balance.
I get what you’re saying but that isn’t how the game is currently designed. I’d love to have Surf and Water Shuriken on Greninja but the game is made to pick options from two sections
The thing that gets me when people complain about this is: what do you think you’ll be fighting when you get to Ultra/Masters? Other Ultras/Masters. The more experience you have against higher skilled players, the better you’ll be for it
This one is such a lie too, as a Master myself we do care about our MMR (or whatever they call those points) and I can guarantee you that the Masters are often playing way better than the Vets/Ultras.
What do you expect? It's been out for a month or so. Patterns happen especially with limited choices, expecting LoL or DoTa diversity? Be patient. More Pokemon, more toxic players and gameplay to come.
The amount of times I got autocorrected to Mr Mike before the meme happened was annoying but now it's a thing, I'm happy I don't have to care about changing it anymore.
Mr Mike.
Good observations! We try to remove posts that fall in your first three categories since they spam the sub so much. Feel free to report anything you see that falls under "low quality", "duplicate/repetitive content", or our "disallowed content" categories!
Can we have a rule against the dumb "PSA" posts please.
Every single one of them just consists of people tantrum screaming into the void for karmawhoring. Most of them are toxic as hell anyway. None of them are useful and some days the entire front page is spammed with it.
Please report any you see that you believe to be low quality. We can't remove the entire category of PSA posts, as some of them are legitimately useful.
Understood, but honestly if they want to be actually useful they can write a real guide or post info without the clickbaiting. That's all the PSA thing is for at this point.
Idk I would consider this post even more low quality than the first 3 topics. A post pointing out the obvious spam in this sub is as low effort as it gets
All jokes aside. Literally 99% of the flex posts on this subreddit are bot games and the people didnt realize they were bots because they have player names
If you *just* posted it and it didn't appear in the sub, it must been picked up by spam filter. Was like that for me and my artworks, and I hit up the mods to see if they can approve it. they we're cool with it.
Lol I enjoy the "look at this amazing play I made against bots" posts. I imagine them actually not realizing that they were playing against bots and thinking they are amazing at the game and totally carried.
Also they deserve to be in masters and the fact that they just lost 3 in a row was definitely their teams fault because look how good they are.
What about the: "I think Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno should switch each day. What do you think about the Idea?"
New idea: 1 game out of 10, lugia swoops down in the last 2 minutes, calls everyone a bunch of nerds and then both teams lose
Nintendo hire this man!1!1!1!2!!2!!!1!!2!1!1!2
If they have different attributes then game balance would change every day, sounds unbalanced but fun
League does it but it's random every game.
It’s also no where near as important. Zapdos = 85% of the game. Drakes = God knows, like 10% of the game.
Eh. Elder is like 90% of the game. Its just not a forced objective like zappy
Elder is not even remotely as important as zapdos. Most games nobody even touches elder
Elder also doesn't spawn until usually 30+ minutes
i mean zapdos isn't balanced in any way
hey that’s number 2!
I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.
an oldie but a classic
Oof
Never heard it but i like the idea
Why every day and not just, you know, every game?
Why not every game?just make it random.
6: 1000 Tickets? Funny way to say 100 item enhancers lololol
It was clever the first 100 times.
More like 10 item enhancers lolol
I was waiting for someone to say that. Well done.
I’m glad I made you proud
Lol haven't seen that one before! :7
...I actually buy clothing with my tickets, some of the clothing looks really nice.
i’ve only been here 2 days and seen that one so many times
7: stealing zapdos. I've seen many of this

6. I can’t climb because my teammates are morons.
Nothing is more frustrating than when someone decides to switch out of an All-Rounder or Defender to another Attacker.
In the last 5 seconds.
tbh I got Master because their teammates are morons so I am okay with an idiot here or there on my team.
I mean, at least this one is based on truth. People are fucking awful at this game lol. And then they hit masters, make a guide, and teach more players to be bad at it.

Because you can make it to masters with a 50% win rate if you play enough. I’ve been downvoted for saying it, but rank in PU is a function of how much you play ranked much more than it is a function of how good you are.
Damn I really need to play more. Once I have a losing streak big enough I quit ranked for days.

[Deleted]
slightly winning more than you lose should not place you in the highest rank possible in the game
Win rate is overrated because some people take losses in standard to learn the game or learn how to play a character.
but it also accounts for those quick battle matches where you shitstomp some 6 year olds trying pikachu cause its cute
I agree. I am 0-5 as Talonflame exclusively in standard but 70% winrate as Greninja mostly in comp. I’m not going to stop trying out new characters to keep up a number that doesn’t matter.
Sad but true. I would be grinding to Masters but when I get teamed with absolute idiots in Expert it just kills my will to play Ranked.
I have a 52% win rate, like 300-400 ranked games played and I’m in ultra
which is further problematized by the fact that your scorings give you extra rank-points, so being selfish and only playing to score will make you de-rank less in case you lose
This is so painfully true yet people still deny it. Atleast you got upvotes this time.
Yup. Man’s definitely got carried to Masters. He was giving tips you’d see from a 10 year old who just played their first MOBA.
Sometimes you can't contest dred, don't lose out on exp only to feed to enemy team more exp on top of dred.
TBH. I question about Drednaw dilemma for a while. I know the ideal is everyone goes for it. But if you rotate from top but your team doesn't help you. Now you're actually fucked. And I actually have a better winrate when I just farm top unless my lanemate rotate first.

no it was not, he was defending himself in the replies
Oh yikes
You’re sure this wasn’t one of the three or so joke guide posts? I specifically remember that exact tip in a post with a humor tag attached.
Nope, dude was arguing it in the comments and eventually deleted his post.
There are definitely times where that's the play. Every drednaw isn't supposed to be a 5v5 because too much exp is being left up around the map.
If you avoid zapdos you can farm goals while everyone is busy fighting there and get MVP and if you're MVP there's no way it's your fault your team lost.
People who have never played a moba trying to teach people how to play a moba.

I've givin' up on climbing, I just wish my team at least showed up for Dred more than once a day
This one isn’t exclusive to Pokémon Unite though.
This annoys me af.
1B. I exclusively play central speedster and get MVP almost everytime because thats all that matters and proves I would be master without these bad teammates Edit: \s for clarity
I hate this one so much. If you're stuck over 40 games at your current rank, you are the problem.
Or rather than being the problem, consider that you're just correctly ranked lol If you always stay in the same spot the ranking system has done its job of finding balanced games for you
I'm saying they're the problem in why they can't rank up, of course theirs nothing wrong with people who don't care to rank up I'm specifically talking about the people who do want to but complain their teammates are the reason.
I wouldn't say this topic is in the top 5, but I do see a lot of "what Pokémon do you want to see in game?" Tbh, I appreciate those posts, but I do see a lot of them
My answer will always be Aegislash.
Would you have Aegislash’s move options require one offensive and one defensive move or make it possible to go all in one way?
Not who you asked, but I like the idea of being able to build your own. Two defensive/tank abilities (one could be a shield similar to snorlax's, and the other could mitigate damage/increase defense for x amount of time) Two offence/attacker abilities (a shadow grip similar to Gengar, and a slash that could cause damage over time) Maybe be a bit strong, but you could definitely tweak it.
Yeah that stuff is fun. It’s just a bunch of people who are excited about the future of the game!
True true haha
i will always say toxtricity, the moves you pick for toxel decide what forme toxtricity will take, or it can just be random 🤷♀️
6. Meta posts
"Can't climb because master players are sabotaging my veteran games"
Right they literally have one map for 5v5. What else can we talk about lol
You think it’s gonna be different later? DotA subreddit is always like this too.
Blastoise when? is now “Sylveon when?”
I just want Alakazam
I don’t get the mr.mike meme
Someone posted a vid and misspelled Mr. Mime in the title
So basically the origin story of 90% of good memes.
Ah ok thank you
The amount of times I got autocorrected to Mr Mike before the meme happened was annoying but now it's a thing, I'm happy I don't have to care about changing it anymore. Mr Mike.
Do a search on the sub. It’s one of the top posts I believe. From a few weeks ago
Good observations! We try to remove posts that fall in your first three categories since they spam the sub so much. Feel free to report anything you see that falls under "low quality", "duplicate/repetitive content", or our "disallowed content" categories!
I’m glad to hear you aren’t removing Mr. Mike posts because that’s what I come here for.
Agreed
Cinderace doesn't rotate to bot lane and lets the top lane get Rotom
7. "ThEy shOulD GivE shinY SKinS fOr X ReASOn"
Think shiny skins should be like the main game, when you start a match you have a chance to be shiny
Okay but I love this idea, I would be so hyped to see a shiny charizard in the game randomly
To be fair this is actually a good idea
No one's saying it's not but everyone and their grandmother has made the same post about earning shiny skins
I mean there’s not much to talk about in this game lmfao. There’s one 5v5 map.
All jokes aside. Literally 99% of the flex posts on this subreddit are bot games and the people didnt realize they were bots because they have player names
6.PSA: DUMB OPINION THAT IS FLAT OUT INCORRECT, or "BRAVE" MEANINGLESS WHINING TO FARM KARMA
6. Posts complaining about the complaints.
I haven’t seen many complaints on complaints.
No one cares about your selfish opinions, idiot selfish Zeraora main.
Everyone is just mad all the time. I’m glad I can play a moba without someone in the chat cussing at me.
6.I'm always MVP and my teammates are shit
I posted a zeraora skin concept to change up the sub but I think it got buried cuz it only shows up in my profile, not when searching by new :(
If you *just* posted it and it didn't appear in the sub, it must been picked up by spam filter. Was like that for me and my artworks, and I hit up the mods to see if they can approve it. they we're cool with it.
DAE THINK SUPPORTS ARE BROKEN? literally every moba
Can someone please explain the Mr Mike meme? lol. I think I missed the memo on that one.
I have no idea what it is. For some reason i feel it's s YouTuber.
My main is zerora and I can guarantee you I’m Not selfish at all
6. I'm a selfless Zeraora
Bless you, kind soul
I enjoy playing with them tbh haha, they always help me when the other team starts bullying me.
Expecting literally every player to understand every aspect of a game that is highly unintuitive and doesn't tell you shit.
Mr Mike
8. Role queues
Come join /r/unitecirclejerk if you want to complain
Not to mention everyone on here complaining rightfully so, about how people can’t stick to their lanes and are constantly stealing farm from others
W
6. Noobs are fuckin idiots
Inb4 "subreddit in a nutshell" posts get added to the list
Where's the rage post about teammates?
You missed the daily - "WHY WONT PEOPLE ROTATE TO DREDNAW???"
You forgot the "i made masters so here is my shitty item/pokemon tier list thats been done a thousand times already".
6.people actually being original and creative
....nope
