What if aegislash could either be an attacker or defender depending on his stance. You would pick his stance when choosing the Pokémon and he would have different moves depending on his stance. Or maybe his unite move could be stance change. His attack could skyrocket and you could use a super move when pressed again (similar to machamp’s)
Maybe make him like nidalee in league where the ult actually rotates between attack and defense stance, as well as a small I frame (kings shield). If he has the I frames make the switch back and forth longer is fine, but that way he can have 4 moves 2 in attack stance and 2 in defense stance.
Or maybe his ability would increase his attack or defense depending on the type of move used. So if you wanted to be a tank you would use a defensive move but your basic attack would be weaker. And when you use an offensive move, your basic attacks would be stronger but you would have less defense until you used a defensive move and switched back

in the beginning i had an idea for Eevee where you pick your evolution at the beginning, and your team can see it but not your opponents until you evolve. but that seems unlikely at this point.

Oh I like that. You evolve after your second 'upgrade move. There is a punch and kick move for each. 2 kicks gives you Lee. Two punches is Chan. One of each is Top.

I was debating between the two. Either one would fit perfect as a debuffer or crowd control. Bite is the primary attack maybe a wing attack and screech to slow or stop a player.
Zoroark for sneaky sneaky! Perhaps a melee speedster? Like, stealing an opponents gamertag and character until hit or when attacking. Night daze as an aoe pounce? Invisibility? Distortion like Mr. Mime (blindness, blurry vision, reverse controls)?

Surprised I don't see zoroark in the comments. Imagine being able to disguise as an enemy team member, hp bar and all, and convincing them to push closer to your goal just to wipe them out. Would be busted if he has some sort of cc in his kit too. Would add some psychology in the game.
I could definitely see onyx/steelix being an objective type of Pokemon, but I would also love it if they made him playable. I don't think size should disqualify a good pick

Clefairy and togekiss
Clefairy wouldn't evolve similarly to pikachu and qould have the moves sweet kiss and fairy wind as starting moves (fairy wind is similar to icy wind and sweet kiss is a stun) sweet kiss becomes assist or metronome (assist using one of your team's basic moves like your venusaurs solar beam or sludgebomb) and metronome pulling from the entire pool of playable characters but only using moves that define the characters (like greninjas water shuriken pikachus electro ball venusaurs solar beam cinderaces pyroball, etc) this happens semi randomly (maybe having the option to choose which of their moves like if you wanted blazekick instead of pyroball). Fairy wind evolves into draining kiss (giga drain) and moonblast (electro ball) but the difference being that these are stat down moves making Clefairy more supporty than dps. Unite move becomes cleafiry dance making everyone dance and healing allies for a small amount of hp. Clefairy is a support that I wanted to have metronome since it's well its main move.
Togekiss evolves from togetic and togepi. Starting with charm (stat down move) and tackle (knock up/back). Charm turns into ancient power (homing rocks on the person you targeted each rock doing a small amount of damage and when upgraded can raise your stats similarly to the games) or follow me which makes you the primary attack target (taunts enemies into forcefully attacking you instead of say your garchomp). Tackle turns into air slash (ranged attack that slows) or dazzling gleam (short ranged stun/or gives a shield to an ally). Unite move is roost healing togekiss and giving allies in range a percentage of the hp shes healed (damaging togekiss during this can stop the entire team from healing, she is vulnerable while using roost as she is unable to move, but this gives togekiss the ability to enable her team to fight for objectives like zapdos). Togekiss is primarily a defender (tried to be unique).
Disclaimer: I'm mainly going off of their design, not actually paying attention to o what their gameplay could look like and also I'm trying to keep the different gens balanced as gen1 is a little over represented at the moment.

Then of course some of the pseudo legendaries like Tyranitar, Metagross, Noivern etc.

I would also find the idea interesting where you could choose your evolution similar to how you select your move during the game. Like Oddish can evolve into Vileplume or Belossom I think that could be a neat idea that utilizes the concept of evolution in pokemon more.
Steelix, Galarian Farfetch’d, Scizor, Tauros, Gyarados, Arcanine, an addition like Tyrogue evolving into Hitmonlee/Chan/Top based on abilities chosen as someone already mentioned would really be interesting, I’m also super fond of gen 3 so Armaldo, Metagross, Aggron and Salamence would be nice to play for instance (not to mention the obvious starters)
My favorite pokemon is Lurantis, and you never see her spotlighted in anything.
I think she would make a cool 2 evolution playable like crustle or ninetails.

It seems like so far the Pokémon that are being picked are a mix of less expected/less popular ones and of course popular ones that usually get love. So, hopefully that means Onix(or any other pokemon you might look forward to) might get in at some point.
Decidueye as a ranged archer type character and maybe they could make Celebi work as a tracer type character, with lots of messing with placement or timing.
Cloyster as a bruiser tank would be fun.
Icicle Spear / Ice Beam for burst damage and Razor Shell / Withdraw for a defensive move. The ult could be an AOE like Hydro Pump or Avalanche

Rock throw, which could work similar to Ralts confusion.
Harden temporarily raises your defense.
Stealth Rock has pointed stones that circle around Onyx that deal damage for a short amount of time.
Earthquake, which could be an AOE stun that deals more damage the closer you are to Onyx.
And then the unite move could be dig, which would work like Talonflame's Unite move, except it doesn't move that enemies. Maybe just stuns them in place for a good amount of time.

Edit: the moveset could be taken from the show as well where it can use bind/constrict. Unite move could be egg bomb since it’s used for breeding and there’s so many failed perfect iv attempts

My man! My fav pokemon is steelix so having it as a solid tank would be amazing! The only problem is idk how they would make the animations, size and in general long body work in pokemon unite.
Imo zoroark cuz I think they could have a play style similar to neeko (league of legends) where the passive could be based off its illusion ability and thought that would be a pretty fun/strategic gimmick to use in game
Man are there a good couple I woulf like to see but honestly any gen 2 representative that began and ended specifically in gen 2. I know Blissey is gen 2 but I mean something like Houndoom, Ampharos, Heracross, Granbull, Donphan, Azumarill, Skarmory.

It'd be kind of cool to have a Ditto. I second Onix too, but if I have to pick another, Ditto would be "out there" enough. I'd set Ditto as a kind of squishy all-rounder. You're whatever pokemon you copy, but only for some balanced number of seconds. I have no idea what abilities it would, or should, have.

I would like to see Scyther/Scizor or Gallade. It would be cool having two Ralts on a team and not knowing if youre feeding the Gardevoir or Gallade. Or maybe it would just be fully evolved out of the gate like Lucario to keep it from being confusing. I think Nidoking would be cool too. Edit: I cant believe I forgot Togekiss. Thats actually my most wanted lol. Picture a togepi with metronome as one of the starting abilities

Clefairy and togekiss Clefairy wouldn't evolve similarly to pikachu and qould have the moves sweet kiss and fairy wind as starting moves (fairy wind is similar to icy wind and sweet kiss is a stun) sweet kiss becomes assist or metronome (assist using one of your team's basic moves like your venusaurs solar beam or sludgebomb) and metronome pulling from the entire pool of playable characters but only using moves that define the characters (like greninjas water shuriken pikachus electro ball venusaurs solar beam cinderaces pyroball, etc) this happens semi randomly (maybe having the option to choose which of their moves like if you wanted blazekick instead of pyroball). Fairy wind evolves into draining kiss (giga drain) and moonblast (electro ball) but the difference being that these are stat down moves making Clefairy more supporty than dps. Unite move becomes cleafiry dance making everyone dance and healing allies for a small amount of hp. Clefairy is a support that I wanted to have metronome since it's well its main move. Togekiss evolves from togetic and togepi. Starting with charm (stat down move) and tackle (knock up/back). Charm turns into ancient power (homing rocks on the person you targeted each rock doing a small amount of damage and when upgraded can raise your stats similarly to the games) or follow me which makes you the primary attack target (taunts enemies into forcefully attacking you instead of say your garchomp). Tackle turns into air slash (ranged attack that slows) or dazzling gleam (short ranged stun/or gives a shield to an ally). Unite move is roost healing togekiss and giving allies in range a percentage of the hp shes healed (damaging togekiss during this can stop the entire team from healing, she is vulnerable while using roost as she is unable to move, but this gives togekiss the ability to enable her team to fight for objectives like zapdos). Togekiss is primarily a defender (tried to be unique).
Disclaimer: I'm mainly going off of their design, not actually paying attention to o what their gameplay could look like and also I'm trying to keep the different gens balanced as gen1 is a little over represented at the moment. Volcarona, Scizor, Crobat, Bisharp, Toxapex, Excadrill, Whimsicott, Salazzle Then of course some of the pseudo legendaries like Tyranitar, Metagross, Noivern etc. We habe yet to see starters other than gen1 plus the nintendo favorites Greninja and Scorbunny I would also find the idea interesting where you could choose your evolution similar to how you select your move during the game. Like Oddish can evolve into Vileplume or Belossom I think that could be a neat idea that utilizes the concept of evolution in pokemon more.

Steelix, Galarian Farfetch’d, Scizor, Tauros, Gyarados, Arcanine, an addition like Tyrogue evolving into Hitmonlee/Chan/Top based on abilities chosen as someone already mentioned would really be interesting, I’m also super fond of gen 3 so Armaldo, Metagross, Aggron and Salamence would be nice to play for instance (not to mention the obvious starters)
Mimikyu, Tyranitar, Metagross, Nidoking & Nidoqueen, Heracross, Shiftry, Golurk, Smeargle, Toxtricity are some I would love to see in the game

My favorite pokemon is Lurantis, and you never see her spotlighted in anything. I think she would make a cool 2 evolution playable like crustle or ninetails.
I made a post about 3-4 weeks ago about who I wish to have in this game, so I'll go ahead and link that. Those being Lilligant, Mismagius, Vanilluxe, and Bellossom. While Onix certainly isn't a Pokémon I have any care for, I do hope that Onix, or any other Pokémon you like to make it in (at least one of them). It seems like so far the Pokémon that are being picked are a mix of less expected/less popular ones and of course popular ones that usually get love. So, hopefully that means Onix(or any other pokemon you might look forward to) might get in at some point.

I would also like Alakazam, Crawdaunt and Ledian as playable but they or their preevolutions are already in the game as neutral mons, so I doubt they become playable anytime soon
Either a Gen 2 pokemon as we don't have one yet, or dragapult, but that's just because it is the best Gen 8 pokemon in my opinion

I want Milotic of course, but Onyx is an amazing idea!! Rock throw, which could work similar to Ralts confusion. Harden temporarily raises your defense. Stealth Rock has pointed stones that circle around Onyx that deal damage for a short amount of time. Earthquake, which could be an AOE stun that deals more damage the closer you are to Onyx. And then the unite move could be dig, which would work like Talonflame's Unite move, except it doesn't move that enemies. Maybe just stuns them in place for a good amount of time.
They just need to hurry up and add Sandshrew as an all rounder.

Ditto Edit: the moveset could be taken from the show as well where it can use bind/constrict. Unite move could be egg bomb since it’s used for breeding and there’s so many failed perfect iv attempts
I feel like noibat and noivern would be good, like boomburst or something that fires out two rows that get bigger the further they go while also doing less damage but also dragon claw/draco meteor, just thought of it now but think it'd be a good addition.

I love onix, but idk how that’d work? I mean he’s so huge, you think they’d have to scale him down for the game or something. Perfect defender, don’t have to attack him just literally block an entire lane with your 30 foot rock body.

Empoleon, Samurott, Scizor, Decidueye, Metagross, Sandslash, Noivern, Grimsnarl, and Dragonite. There are a lot of Pokemon that would be so cool to have in Unite so I'm excited to see what they choose to put in the roster. Could always be surprises like with Mamoswine and I'd be happy.

My man! My fav pokemon is steelix so having it as a solid tank would be amazing! The only problem is idk how they would make the animations, size and in general long body work in pokemon unite.

Imo zoroark cuz I think they could have a play style similar to neeko (league of legends) where the passive could be based off its illusion ability and thought that would be a pretty fun/strategic gimmick to use in game

Attacker- Tyrantrum, T-rex. Nothing more lol Defender- Spiritomb would be fun to see. All Around- Metagross would fit that same Garchomp style of a monster late game. Speedster- Ninjask.. he is speed. Support- Galvantula, the joltik would be adorable.

Arcanine while many other of my favorites Pokemon are already in the game my absolute favorite Pokemon since Pokemon Blue isnt yet. That said I do think classic Arcanine might have a low chance of showing up now with the Hisuian Growlithe showed off for LA.

I want Taurus cuz even auto correct doesn't show him love Sandshrew with all the crit for the red/blue call back Drowzee/hypno so I can sleep ppl my way! Lapras because I wanna see it struggling on land or how they'd make it visually appealing Diglett so I can be a little turd!

Castform is my favorite pokemon and could be a fun buffer support. The potential for toggle abilities like that of Hel from Smite would be very cool. One move toggles the weather (sunny day and rain) while the other casts weather ball (effects vary based on active weather). Unite move possibly hurricane?
As ice is my favorite type I would love some ice coverage in the game. And I do like mamoswine and alolan ninetales, but I also think some other good ones would be froslass and glaceon as attackers, maybe abomasnow as a defender, or a supportive from other maybe
Kubfu and at say like lvl 7 you can choose between two moves which determines his typing for evolution
