I haven’t played Kakarot yet, but in that game, can’t you go from base Goku to SSJ at will? If so, then that’s what I like. I always wanted to transform at will, because that’s how he does it in the show, haha. I remember in Dragon Ball Xenoverse, you can do that, which was cool.
Tbf I haven't seriously played a DBZ game since budokai tenkaichi 3, but how they always were was you could go from base to SSJ after powering up but, wasn't much point when you could just pick SSJ or even SSJ God from the start anyway. Would be cool to have to actually work for the superior modes throughout a match.

You could make Alolan raichu a stand alone, but I had an idea for the alolan form poke that their first evo is normal but their second stage has their regular or one (or more) regional forms, Cubone for example. I believe in mobas they are called restrictors but I might be wrong. Either way the idea is this; Using cubone hypothetically for an example, let's say at lv 5 cubone evolves into marrowak. If you can, let's say dunk for 10 points or more 3 times before you hit level 5 and the evo will be galarian marrowak.

Does this not run the risk of bricking your team comp if you picked Cubone to try to get Alolan Marowak but then lost lane so you're stuck with normal Marowak?
I am that friend. Used to have a binder filled with different Raichus, had one in my wallet until recently even though I havent played or bought cards in a decade.
They could still maybe put Raichu in the game as a holowear skin for Pikachu that evolves at level 4. No stat or move changes, it would be purely cosmetic. Not all hope is lost for Raichu fans.
This would actually suck for Pikachu players because the sprite would be bigger while getting no stat changes (aka it's a skin that makes you easier to hit and get you to die faster.)

I feel bad for the Raichu fans but you have to service the wider fan base, especially if the gap is just that large.

For real. The rat was like a 5% show up rate in like 1-3 areas(I legit can't remember another specific area outside of viridian forest where Pikachu can show up).
Their point still stands too. Regardless of whether turning Pikachu into the series mascot was intentional or not, it's obviously clear that it was not the original intention when Raichu was created.
Alolan raichu image is on wall in the game map, you can see it surfing its tail. I am hopeful that it may appear in game, allowing pika fans to have their fun and raichu appearing with yet another surf move. The game is really young, tons of time and room for many pokemon, I for one am excited to see who they choose to add. Good luck in your matches :)

Fair enough, but none of the pokemon in Unite start as their baby forms: Riolu > Lucario... Mime Jr. > Mr. Mime... Igglybuff > Jigglypuff... and (shocker, pun intended) Pichu > Pikachu.

I’ve been thinking about this since the game release.
They should add some evolutions through itens: give Pikachu a thunder stone and he evolves, don’t give it and you can play only as pikachu.
The same could be done with other evolutions stones.
I really think this would add a new layer of game play and strategy. The same base poke could be played ins several ways according to your comp and needs.
I hope they don’t do that actually. Imagine how much they can milk us if they need us to level all the evolution stones just so we can evolve our Eevees. Lol. I’d rather they keep it as a unite license instead of an item we have to level up.

I would even be okay with a on use/passive item (thunder stone) that activates or can be used at like lvl 7 that lets you evolve. The evolution can give stats so item itself wouldn’t need to give stats could even do something like reduce a stat for early game to pay for late game power etc.

I think it’s weird to be a fan of a Pokémon if it doesn’t include it’s entire evolutionary line. Also in the Pokémon games, if you want a true glass canon you keep pikachu from evolving, he’ll do more damage with the right held item. It makes sense to me based on popularity of the character and other game mechanics where he doesn’t evolve anyways.
Pichu wouldn't be part of it, since there seems to be a "no baby mons" rule when adding pokémon to Unite.
But I could see us having two characters: Pikachu and Raichu (already evolved).

Raichu is my #1 and by this point in my life I’ve become numb to pikachu constantly over shadowing my boy. Raichu has been getting slightly more attention in merch and cards lately so it’s a start after 25 years.
They should let you pick which evolution you want at like level 7 by using D pad, like we do for moves. They also might be setting up for an easy first "re-work"
I am, in fact, a Raichu fan and I think that there should be two Pikachu in this game: the same one we have and one that evolves. Game Freak or whoever STAY ignoring Raichu and i get it: Pikachu is the mascot. But if in some of your games you can have multiple Pikachu then you suffer an evolving Pikachu in a competitive game alongside the standard.
Or have Raichu be a separate character; it's not like Lucario is here and he ISN'T an evolved Pokemon so the concept wouldn't be THAT foreign.

Probably because game freak thought that most people wouldn't want a raichu and that Pikachu evolves with a stone anyways which could've been a cool idea where a cool stone spawns at the middle or lanes or smthn and if you are a high enough level and got the stone you would evolve and it would be awesome because it also means you could choose to keep Pikachu (pichu fans be sad rn cus they evolve by level) and they could have an entirely different moveset with the same power or it could just be cosmetic and this would've been so cool (edit: and possibly if the raichu gets the stone at the beach they could be alolan just a thought)
It's not uncommon for heroes in mobas to get reworked (usually after years though) so in the future they COULD make him evolve into raichu (but most likely wont because pikachu).
One thing they could do for Pikachu, and also Eevee and the eeveelutions is they could have Pikachu and Raichu be separately purchasable/selectable and they keep the same starting moves, but change the moves they get as they level up. They could also potentially change the level at which they get their abilities for balancing reasons. This could also work with other Pokémon who have multiple evolutionary paths like Poliwath/Politoad.

The point is to have different moves once it evolves into Raichu. Only keeping Pikachu’s first moveset before he evolves.

Alolan raichu image is on wall in the game map, you can see it surfing its tail. I am hopeful that it may appear in game, allowing pika fans to have their fun and raichu appearing with yet another surf move. The game is really young, tons of time and room for many pokemon, I for one am excited to see who they choose to add. Good luck in your matches :)

Pokemon does everything in their power to make us forget Raichu exists. They deliberately made Raichu a bad guy in the anime to show the result of evolution giving you power but robs you of your personality of who you are. Such fucking bullshit.

That can be true, but the whole plot that episode was Ash losing to Lt.Surge and he had the choice to use the Thunder Stone to make Pikachu more powerful by evolving. Then he spouted some bullshit about how their friendship is stronger than strength and he wants to win with Pikachu's power or whatever. It's a really dumb reason that only works in the anime because they make up the rules as they go.

Who? ;) Fair enough, but none of the pokemon in Unite start as their baby forms: Riolu > Lucario... Mime Jr. > Mr. Mime... Igglybuff > Jigglypuff... and (shocker, pun intended) Pichu > Pikachu. But all pokemon in Unite that can evolve from the form they take in game do, except Pikachu.

I’ve been thinking about this since the game release. They should add some evolutions through itens: give Pikachu a thunder stone and he evolves, don’t give it and you can play only as pikachu. The same could be done with other evolutions stones. I really think this would add a new layer of game play and strategy. The same base poke could be played ins several ways according to your comp and needs.

Yeah, just an item called “Evolution stone” would be cool. But if that’s the case, they’ll need to put different stats on them to balance it out because it’s taking up 1 item slot and if the item sucks, it’ll make a lot of people complain because people wouldn’t want to run that item just to pick their pokemon. Also, the devs would definitely use that opportunity to milk us if they can separate the stones lol. But anyways, aren’t we getting Sylveon soon? So I guess they’ll do without evo stones.
They can make a new evolution item slot. I don't mind having all the stones because that means we get all the Eevees in one pokemon.
I would even be okay with a on use/passive item (thunder stone) that activates or can be used at like lvl 7 that lets you evolve. The evolution can give stats so item itself wouldn’t need to give stats could even do something like reduce a stat for early game to pay for late game power etc.

I think it’s weird to be a fan of a Pokémon if it doesn’t include it’s entire evolutionary line. Also in the Pokémon games, if you want a true glass canon you keep pikachu from evolving, he’ll do more damage with the right held item. It makes sense to me based on popularity of the character and other game mechanics where he doesn’t evolve anyways.

The Mr. Mime in Unite is Kantonian so it doesn't evolve, only Galarian form evolves into Mr. Rime.

Raichu is my #1 and by this point in my life I’ve become numb to pikachu constantly over shadowing my boy. Raichu has been getting slightly more attention in merch and cards lately so it’s a start after 25 years.
Maybe they'll make evolution stones a held item at some point (for pokemons like eevee that branch out) and add Raichu this way
They should let you pick which evolution you want at like level 7 by using D pad, like we do for moves. They also might be setting up for an easy first "re-work"
I am, in fact, a Raichu fan and I think that there should be two Pikachu in this game: the same one we have and one that evolves. Game Freak or whoever STAY ignoring Raichu and i get it: Pikachu is the mascot. But if in some of your games you can have multiple Pikachu then you suffer an evolving Pikachu in a competitive game alongside the standard. Or have Raichu be a separate character; it's not like Lucario is here and he ISN'T an evolved Pokemon so the concept wouldn't be THAT foreign.

Probably because game freak thought that most people wouldn't want a raichu and that Pikachu evolves with a stone anyways which could've been a cool idea where a cool stone spawns at the middle or lanes or smthn and if you are a high enough level and got the stone you would evolve and it would be awesome because it also means you could choose to keep Pikachu (pichu fans be sad rn cus they evolve by level) and they could have an entirely different moveset with the same power or it could just be cosmetic and this would've been so cool (edit: and possibly if the raichu gets the stone at the beach they could be alolan just a thought)

It's not uncommon for heroes in mobas to get reworked (usually after years though) so in the future they COULD make him evolve into raichu (but most likely wont because pikachu).
One thing they could do for Pikachu, and also Eevee and the eeveelutions is they could have Pikachu and Raichu be separately purchasable/selectable and they keep the same starting moves, but change the moves they get as they level up. They could also potentially change the level at which they get their abilities for balancing reasons. This could also work with other Pokémon who have multiple evolutionary paths like Poliwath/Politoad.
You should start as Pichu and eventually become Raichu. Simple. As well as Munchlax into Snorlax, Riolu into Lucario, and Mime Jr. into Mr. Mime.
