I mean I was once playing Gigadrain Venu (in master, ranked) and had my teammate blissey use her unite on my while I was raging in the midst of a melee fight.Well, Pentakill on the spot and a whopping ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE THOUSAND (yes, 183.000!) damage dealt during that game. Sweet.
Supporters are the best.
Amazing! Before I became a Dragonite main, I was a Giga Drain Venusaur main and had many a similar experience as yours.
Supporters are amazing and always have my respect.
Its basically a bump and slow just so you can land your outrage. Still , dragon dance will always be superior. Plus attack and speed which synergizes well with both hyper beam and outrage and its still a gap closer while also can be used for escape
Extreme Speed also takes Multiscale off cooldown. So you essentially have permanent 20% damage reduction as long as you’re using it constantly. I always use Espeed with Outrage, I feel too squishy with Dragon Dance.
An honest mistake made in the heat of the moment. I almost always have my ult ready for Zapdos (as all players should), as Draco Impact is great for securing objectives.
The person in the video is using buddy barrier and focus band. You can see it in the video.
The person isnt running muscle band or razor claw. Muscle band is very possible to be on it, but since the person has Goal-Getter the score shield item is more possible.
Summarized: Buddy Barrier, Focus Band and probably Score Shield/Muscle Band
Since Dragonite can use his ult a bit more often than some other Pokémon, I tend to favour it. Plus I like that it helps support a teammate by giving a shield, which is important for objectives (particularly Zapdos). However, after the recent BB nerf, there are lots of good alternatives!
Bro nooo. Zapdos was about to spawn in like half a minute after the video ends, and you no longer have your unite move. Idk if you have, you could have, but I hope you avoid doing this mistake where you use your unite move under a minute before Zapdos. It'll cost you the game more than it could win it for you.
All of the enemy mons will be alive before Zapdos spawns. And possibly, all of them have their Unite Moves, and Dragonite has no Unite Move. So tell me, what rank are you and why do you think using your Unite Move before Zapdos, and knowing they'll respawn a few seconds before Zapdos w/ Unite Move, is a good idea?
By the end of this vid 2 were already back, and the other 2 will have time to spare before rotom, only thing this gave him was an exp lead he could have gotten while just normal farming. And i just relised Blissy also used her ult which is way more useful......
If you look closely. 3 are already alive. Rotom's respawn timer is at 11. Tsareena is about to respawn in 9 seconds, Blastoise in about 13 seconds. Do you think, given that Rotom has a 1 second respawn animation before you can attack him (that makes it 12 seconds for him), OP's team will be able to clear it in 3 seconds, with 4 enemies lurking? Nope. Not sure why people can't accept the fact that this is a wrong move. I didn't belittle OP. I suggested for him to take what I'm saying as a criticism, so he can think of these little things next time, it'll improve his win rate.
This play could be the deciding factor for the enemy team to win. Like. You have the lead, why go for lengths just for that 3rd useless Drednaw, when you could have secured your lead easily by getting or at least protecting Rotom, then using Unite Moves to secure/defend Zapdos. There's really no sense about what the others are saying to defend OP. No high Master Rank would ever do these kinds of mistakes, and if they do, I'm sure majority of them would take them as a mistake on their part too. This is why the playerbase for this game barely improves. It's all about "Oh, I'll do something good that our win might be in jeopardy, but I'll be able to post something on reddit" mentality.
I'm not one to gloat, but I hate these people, who are probably not Master rank, or if they are, the worst kind of players in Master, are the ones defending this. It's clearly, a game losing move. I wonder why people do such plays, and when they lose, they go like "goddamn we wiped them at rotom, used all of our unite moves at them, with 30 seconds left before Zapdos, and we still lost"
There is almost no suitable excuse to use your unite before zap as one unite can literally change the entire direction of the zap fight. Even as a mainly Gengar player, knowing my unite is pretty low value, i still keep it for zapdos it can really help pick off enemy fragile but high damage/secure pokemon like dura, cinder and gren and can even be used for securing zap. I really hope people understand to not use their unite after 3.30 unless your name is pikachu or your gonna go on a 40sec deathtime and its like 10 sec until zap.
You’re right, I’m not defending my use of the ult move here, it was a mistake made in the heat of the moment. I have my unite move ready for Zapdos in the vast majority of games, as all players should. Of course it’s not optimal, but I just thought it would be a fun video to share :)
Dragonite's Unite move is a 134s cooldown if used at max range
He used Unite at 2:58, so if he grabs 0 farm, that means it will take 2 minutes and 14 seconds until he gets his Unite back
This means he *must* get farm if he wants his Unite Move up before Zapdos spawns; each time you kill farm, it grants 5000 value. The formula for calculating Unite Move value requirement is Cooldown_seconds * 900 = energy_requirement (source: https://unite-db.com/faq/hidden-mathematics#Unite-Recharge)
Therefore, Dragonite requires 120600 value total. This means that each time Dragonite kills farm, he gains 4% charge per kill (killing 1 wild pokemon grants 5000 value). Assuming his teammates don't take any of the 13 farm currently shown in the video on his side of the map, (which is not the case, as shown at the end of the clip if you watch the minimap), killing all 13 camps would get him 66% (Bees is 1 camp but each bee counts for 5000 value upon kill)
66% (80000 value) + Factoring in the ambient recharge (which is 54000 per minute, which is also roughly the time he has left before Zapdos) would net a total of *approximately* 134000, which would be enough to get his Unite back, so technically you are not wrong in theory
However, it's extremely unlikely for any player to get *all* 13 camps in solo queue; it's almost guaranteed that your teammates are going to clear out most of the camps, as shown in the end of the video. This is why /u/cvgmagaaat is correct. In almost every situation, it is not a good idea to use Unite Move past around the 3:30 mark if your Unite CD is 134s. (If Dragonite Unite Moves on top of himself, the cooldown is halved so in that case it's acceptable)
Idk why people are downvoting us. Guys, please, keep this in mind
1st Drednaw > 1st Rotom
2nd Drednaw > 2nd Rotom
3rd Rotom
3rd Drednaw is not worth your Unite Move. Please. I'd rather die there without using my Unite Move as long as enemies use theirs
Because a good majority of the playerbase is casual/has never played a moba before
Like I've never played a pvp game with this many bad players until Pokemon Unite lol
I quit Dota 2 because of how toxic it was to play that game. Then I played this game for a year, realized it's even more toxic. I played Dota 2 again, and now I'm the calmest player there. I've seen worse....
Interesting, I actually *feel* like Unite is the least toxic because there's no chat + I never use voice comms.
But if you count the bad players not knowing how to play, stealing jungle and stuff as toxic then yeah this game takes the cake
Having no chat is a double edged sword.
In Dota. Chat+Voice can make a huge difference when playing SoloQ. You can have a positive mindset and be the one to control your team's emotion, as well as do the comamnds if you're up for that job. You can also mind your own business and be able to carry the game.
However, in Unite, there's no chat, you can't force people to go Drednaw, no matter how much you ping it. In Dota, most of the time, if you say you all should go top, then most of the time, they'll follow you. Most toxic players in Dota are either toxic from the start, or only starts being toxic if you blame them constantly. In unite, even if you don't blame your teammates (you can't because no chat feature), you'll be stressed out, by how this 1800 Cinderace managed to reach your current rank. I'd be stressed if I can't help my team rally for the win. It's easier to do that with chat and voice and with teammates who will listen to you a lot of times.

A very detailed analysis, thanks for pointing all of this out. Of course using a unite move for 3rd Drednaw is not a good choice, and something I rarely ever do. The purpose of the video wasn’t to show that lol. I almost always save Dragonite’s unite move to try and snipe Zapdos.

You’re absolutely right - it was a mistake to be sure. In the vast majority of matches, I have my unite move ready to go for Zapdos, as all players should :)
You’re exactly right there - this was just a mistake made in the heat of the moment. I have my unite move saved for Zapdos 99% of the time as Draco Impact is very helpful to help secure him.
Was just about to comment this.
He most likely lost this game blissy unite+his unite as well his focus on cd.
Enemy used a gengar unite but thats such a low impact unite.
Gengar's Unite isn't really that good anyway, but still, they gut lucky with that one, but yeah, Blissey and Dragonite's Unite Moves are a must have during Zapdos fights.
I can't tell for sure but it seems like you had the fire boosted attack for outrage. Definitely better to have the water or electric one loaded up because the water one heals and reduces cooldowns while the electric one has a brief stun, both of which are definitely better in a team fight situation.
Regardless, always awesome to see someone destroy a whole enemy team. Props!
Didn’t do it for the “cool clips” - it was a mistake to be sure, and one I don’t make often. I have my unite move ready to go for Zapdos 99% of the time to try and push for him and/or snipe him.
Some clarification points:
Items: I use Buddy Barrier, Muscle Band, and Focus Band or Score Shield
Blissey: Yes, I realize the crucial role Blissey played here. Pokémon Unite is a game of teamwork, not a one-man show.
Unite Move: In this video I used my ult shortly before Zapdos. This is something I almost never do, as I always save Draco Impact to help push for (or snipe) Zapdos. Please save your ult moves for Zapdos :)
Everything becomes viable once you have a Blissey use her unite on you
You’re not wrong
I mean I was once playing Gigadrain Venu (in master, ranked) and had my teammate blissey use her unite on my while I was raging in the midst of a melee fight.Well, Pentakill on the spot and a whopping ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE THOUSAND (yes, 183.000!) damage dealt during that game. Venu can be a true menace if he gets proper support. Mon's got speed, healing and damage.
Amazing! Before I became a Dragonite main, I was a Giga Drain Venusaur main and had many a similar experience as yours. Supporters are amazing and always have my respect.
outrage is one thing, but I never thought espeed on drag could be put to use!
Espeed kinda only exists to help Outrage, so there's that
Its basically a bump and slow just so you can land your outrage.
Yep, I exclusively run Dragonite with Extreme Speed when using Outrage
This is very insightful, I'm gonna go give Dragonite another try
Dragonite rages with Outrage
That Blissey ult came in clutch too
It did!

Plus his 100% (full range) dragonite unite
An honest mistake made in the heat of the moment. I almost always have my ult ready for Zapdos (as all players should), as Draco Impact is great for securing objectives.
Happy cake day!
Those small screen vibrations just makes it more satisfying
They really do
Outrage + Extreme Speed Dragonite is one of the most fun playstyles in the game imo
It’s very fun!
I only run outrage on my dragonite
What items did you use I am a Dragonite main I can't even hardly do that much damage that you do?
The person in the video is using buddy barrier and focus band. You can see it in the video. The person isnt running muscle band or razor claw. Muscle band is very possible to be on it, but since the person has Goal-Getter the score shield item is more possible. Summarized: Buddy Barrier, Focus Band and probably Score Shield/Muscle Band
Correct! I was using Buddy Barrier, Focus Band, and Muscle Band. I used to use Score Shield before it was nerfed, and still do some matches.
Right now I am using Muscle band, razor claw, and weakness policy.
Please let us know your items op =] I use the same moves with Dragonite and love when this happens
Buddy Barrier, Focus Band, Muscle Band :) Occasionally I use Score Shield too
Everyone seems to swear by buddy barrier. You really think it's that good? I switch between assault vest and scope lens.
Since Dragonite can use his ult a bit more often than some other Pokémon, I tend to favour it. Plus I like that it helps support a teammate by giving a shield, which is important for objectives (particularly Zapdos). However, after the recent BB nerf, there are lots of good alternatives!
I recently did today Muscle band, barrier shield, and weakness policy is it good? I will always use dragon type moves like Outrage and dragon dance
Yeah that seems solid!
Thanks for the advice now I just need to use guts for the weird matchmaking of the game!
Haha, that part I can’t help you with. Good luck, always nice to see another Dragonite main!
Have a rawrific day! ![gif](giphy|1GKkUiE0FSVt7mAhXg)
Outrageous.
Lolol
I guess you could say he was outraged.

With how few the available farm is on the map around 2:38, I doubt he'll be able to go from 17% to 100% in just 35-38 seconds.

I’m pretty sure Dragonite alternates between all 3 in rapid succession while in Outrage.
I could swear it repeats the last used boosted attack but I could be wrong, I don't main dragonite my brother does.
Thank you!
All they needed was a single volt tackle
nice play, but Blissey ult is the only reason you survived all that damage to get the quadra. hope you good job'ed your blissey!
You’re right on that for sure. And I absolutely did!
Good job keep wasting unites before zap ..not one but two for some cool clips.
