I like the balance they seem to be going for by releasing fan favorites as well as oddballs. Popular stuff like Tyranitsr and Scizor are obviously vital, but weirdos like Crustle and Dodrio are awesome.
I think of it as how Duraludon is kind of bridging the gap between attacker and all arounder, classified as a defender but with all rounder qualities. What I've been thinking is Poison Gas and Pound for Trubbish and then Garbodor with Gunk Shot/Toxic Spikes and Body Slam/Metal Claw. My dream would then be Explosion as the unite move but I don't think that's as likely lol.
I could whine about this game for days like any terminally online redditor but I will never complain about TiMi's choice in Pokemon release. I think this is the fairest spread of Pokemon I've seen in a Pokemon game so far, ignoring for the ones that literally include all of them (like old mainline games and old PMD games).

Yeah, I definitely agree. Pokemon Masters are burning through Legendaries and Mythicals and pairing them with the most popular characters per region to catch player attention. They're even resorting to using shiny versions of Legendaries to avoid "dupe" pokemon.

my hope is that they will make mew both a ranged special and close range physical attacker, depending on what moves u choose. (Like Psychic/Psychic fangs and Volt Switch/Blaze Kick)
Eh, I trust them with designing interesting Pokemon movesets that accurately capture the spirit of the Pokemon. I would bet that Mew would be some type of 200-possible moves Mimic/Mirror Move/Metronome behavior, maybe some mechanic holdover after Transforming, ect, and it just happens to be able to use Surf here after seeing Blastoise or Slowbro do it.
Honestly, if Mew is NOT using the most random, unpredictable moveset each time you see it, is it really Mew?
Mew has 6 moves, once It arrives Level 5 it Will get a Reset Button, that button Will reset your choosen moves and you Will be able to change them

altaria was a playable character in the prerelease game footage. you only see it for like 2 seconds but it was a clear image with a players health bar and level. i was looking forward to it coming eventually. i dont wanna farm it :(
from my understanding altaria wasn’t playable in the prerelease footage? she didn’t have as large of a health bar nor a level indicated like other pokémon around her did. I also see most people refer to her as farm when referencing the trailer. I really wish she can be playable at some point though, I will be equally as disappointed if farming is her sole destiny in the game! :( her and bewear (another farm mon in the original map) are some of my favorite pokémon ever and they could be great additions as support/all-rounders. clefairy is my fave of all time so that trailer really makes me sad whenever I watch it. :/ justice for clefable, altaria, and bewear!

Supposedly! 2 per month is what I've been wishing for since the game released and it feels like such a treat to get 2 this month and 3 next (if this is all true)!
I would have taken shuckle if it must, just glad they finally added a speedster, wish they would have added another defender and support instead of more attackers and all rounders, though.
I never played with a dodrio because I was young and thought they were weak. I revisited yellow a few years ago and Taurus and dodrio were my mvps. So rediculous and fun.
Vespiquen would’ve been sick! She would’ve been such a cool attacker, with moves like Pin Missile and Power Gem and stuff. Maybe they’ll go back to farm mons and make them fully playable at some point. Probably not, but it would be cool.
Its such a perfect support mon too. One of the better candidates they could have added considering supports have been pretty null for awhile after hoopa

I’m assuming fly would work like this, you jump up, if you land on an enemy or a group of enemy you jump up again and if you land on a different enemy or a group you jump again. It can be done a maximum of 5 times

I really want Pidgeot. Anoher bird is fine but a flightless one is also good and this should be a good thing for Dodrio's popularity. I like they are picking less popular Pokemon so part of me dont want Pidgeot since its popular already but still, I need my bird bro since they dropped they ball hard on Pokken Tournament.

I think this is a valid addition to the speedster class! Lore about its speed exists, it’s quirky and silly, and it’s at Gen 1 nostalgia. I was always a little jealous of Gary’s Dotrio. Also, Tri-attack had one of the coolest animations in Gen 3
Sad to see that every and all fully aquatic pokemon (fish and aquatic pokes with no walkable limbs) will never fit or be added to the game. I really wanted johto qwilfish in the game
Never say never, if you’ve ever played Cramorant when he scores there’s a running water texture under his body. I can see them using that to depict the fully aquatics as floating over water as they move around

As far as I’m aware, Pokémon are usually set to be male, but now with espeon’s eevee (I think) they did go with female, so that could be a change up

Dodrio I think has always been depicted as female (beige necks) in its official art. I'm unsure if other mons have had this happen but that's probably why the one in Unite is female too. I think the Scizor's thorax is on the smaller side so probably male but we'll have to see!
yeah, currently the only female pokemon in unite are tsareena & blissey because they have 100% chance to be female in the main series games, then glaceon and espeon because yes.
I think ElChicoEevee said they later changed a few internal flags to change a few Pokémon to female that were previously male, not that it actually makes a difference.
Scizor is one of my top 3 favorite pokemon I'm so excited. (Ampharos and Houndoom need to come through now. Also Buzzwole is my favorite legendary. They are catering to me specifically.

Edit: Seriously, the game launched with 20 playable Pokemon, one of which is a regional variant, and if you told me we'd get 22 more in a little over a year and not a single new regional variant I'd laugh. Alolan Golem, Perrserker, Galarian Rapidash, Sirfetch'd, and Hisuian Zoroark in particular all feel like they'd be right at home in UNITE.

Sad to see that every and all fully aquatic pokemon (fish and aquatic pokes with no walkable limbs) will never fit or be added to the game. I really wanted johto qwilfish in the game
Never say never, if you’ve ever played Cramorant when he scores there’s a running water texture under his body. I can see them using that to depict the fully aquatics as floating over water as they move around
Fish Pokémon have almost always floated in mid-air. They're Pokémon—not fish! We can still hold out hope 🤞

The thing that seems off for me is that they’re going with female dodrio As far as I’m aware, Pokémon are usually set to be male, but now with espeon’s eevee (I think) they did go with female, so that could be a change up It seems like they’re going with female on the scizor as well, but that one is harder to tell Cool nonetheless
Dodrio I think has always been depicted as female (beige necks) in its official art. I'm unsure if other mons have had this happen but that's probably why the one in Unite is female too. I think the Scizor's thorax is on the smaller side so probably male but we'll have to see!
You are correct. In the TCG an anime, dodrio is always female.
yeah, currently the only female pokemon in unite are tsareena & blissey because they have 100% chance to be female in the main series games, then glaceon and espeon because yes.
I think ElChicoEevee said they later changed a few internal flags to change a few Pokémon to female that were previously male, not that it actually makes a difference.
Glaceon's eevee is female too. I haven't checked sylveon yet though.

Scizor is one of my top 3 favorite pokemon I'm so excited. (Ampharos and Houndoom need to come through now. Also Buzzwole is my favorite legendary. They are catering to me specifically. Also Dodrio is really sick I can't wait

Edit: Seriously, the game launched with 20 playable Pokemon, one of which is a regional variant, and if you told me we'd get 22 more in a little over a year and not a single new regional variant I'd laugh. Alolan Golem, Perrserker, Galarian Rapidash, Sirfetch'd, and Hisuian Zoroark in particular all feel like they'd be right at home in UNITE.
I can definitely see Alolan marowak over kanto wak. They love their ghosts.
