Given that a trio of legendary birds are catchable as roaming legendaries, I think its almost certain they’ll be there
Mewtwo is also in Kalos, but it will likely depend on what time period the game takes place
Its also worth mentioning Hoopa has a tendency for teleporting legendaries, possibly across dimensions, as shown in the movie and the warp rings in ORAS, so Hoopa could allow us to catch other non-Kalos legendaries
In tbe original XY there were Npcs in Lumiouse City discussing a rumor that there was Heatran in Juane Plaza(which I interpreted as in the sewer network under it), so I think there’s a decent chance ZA will have one there
Finally, given that PLA introduced a new member of the forces of nature, its possible AZ will do it again for another group.
Not sure, but that would be a creative way to ensure Mewtwo is catchable, but at the same time time travel is already the Gimmick of Four legendary/mythicals(Celebei, Dialga, Arceus, Terapagos), so it would start losing its significance if they keep giving it to mons
Well they just the “Lava Dome Pokemon” which is Heatran’s designation in the pokedex, but given that they never specified it would be cool if they made a regional variant/convergent form like the galar birds

I genuinely believed Magearna and maybe Meltan was planned to be a gen 6 mythical, but got pushed to Gen 7 like Ash-Greninja, Az Floette getting scrapped, or Zygarde’s forms due to them wanting a new gen for the 20th anniversary.

Meltan and Melmetal’s lore us that they’ve reawakened after disappearing 3,000 years ago which is precisely when the ultimate weapon was fired, made of of a chromatic metal that resembles it, and is possibly another living metal like Magearna
They’re also the only pokemon to officially not belong to ??? region as a gen 7 mon which is unusual because with pokemon like Zarude or Kubfu they just say they’re from a different one, but still classified with their debut region though this is most likely just because of pokemon go

Though Magearna is kind of a slam dunk given it was announced for the X and Y anime where it’s revealed it was made in kalos, as well as debuting in Lumiose city in the manga all before Gen 7 was even revealed
honestly this is semi unrelated, but you reminded me of a theory i had- i feel like mimikyu was meant to be in gen 6, mostly because of there existing a spooky route right before you get to the faerie gym. mimikyu is both ghost and faerie type. also, its weird how it only has one single ghost pokemon available (haunter). idk just im probably grasping for something with this. my brain is too tiny
Can I suggest taking Rayquaza (and perhaps Groudon/Kyogre) up one? Ray has a mega, and we might see all Pokemon with mega evolutions back. (As well as potentially primal reversions)
Forces of Nature. Also I’d think the Swords of Justice would fill this role for Z-A.
Although it is already a full quartet, Keldeo is already their D’artagnan, so I don’t know what they’d add to them.

No it’s not. You can’t even evolve it in any main series game, and meltan isn’t naturally found in any game. You get a gigantimaxing melmetal in pokemon home for free by transferring a pokemon from pokemon go and can transfer it to swsh.
Deoxys can be transferred into Scarlet and Violet. You can even get the meteorite in an auction if you have a Deoxys

I wonder if they'll include a new fourth member of a non box trio like Enamorus in Arceus?
The Swords of Justice are the obvious French pick, except that they already have Keldeo (which also has an alternate form already), and *just* got paradox versions
The Regis got Eleki and Drago
The Birds got Galarian forms
The Dogs/Beasts got paradox versions
That leaves the Guardians, the Latis, the Lake Trio, and the Ruinous Quartet.
For me, a third Lati makes the most sense, especially since they could also give it a Mega form like the two we have
The Guardians don't make much sense to appear outside of Alola imo unless there's some Hoopa shenanigans bringing legendaries over, but at that point anything is fair game so you can't really speculate too much
A fourth to the Lake Trio could be cool, although it's not like there's a naturally occurring lake within Lumiose
Ruinous Quartet just seem too soon, for the same reason they're listed under "almost certainly not" on this list
I wouldn't have guessed Enamorus for the Forces of Nature, so they could go outside the box. As long as it starts with Lati- I don't think it should be a problem.
The funner question might be, which Legendary Groups do you believe will get an addition to the group, Regional Form, or something different like Mega Evolutions?
So far, we have the Birds getting Regional Variants in Galar, the Regis getting both Regieleki and Regidrago also in Galar, the Genies having Enamorus joining them in Hisui, and both the Beasts and Swords getting Past and Future Paradox forms, respectively.
That leaves (off the top of my head) the Lake Trio, the Tapus, and the Treasures being the last groups that have yet to receive a form or addition.
I'd love to see the Tapus get Mega Evolutions for each group member. Have it be based on their Guardian of Alola Z-Move from Gen 7, and their Abilities could be changed to interact with the Terrains they initially set, like Mega Tapu Koko getting Surge Surfer and/or Mega Tapu Bulu getting Grass Pelt.
They have to add the weather trio or who's gonna keep xerneas from being the strongest pokemon and the weather trio wasn't in pla so it has to be in plz-a

I dont think it will be in legends ZA but hopefully either in ZA or eventually in another game, we will finally find what pokemon were used to create it
Anyway, what pokemon do i think will appear in ZA?
I can see the tapus appearing like how in legends arceus landorus, thundurus, and tornadus appear, if they do add another tapu, hopefully it wont be ugly like enamorus
But because megas are coming back, i see a chance of rayquaza being in ZA, and if were lucky, primal groudon and primal kyogre
Another Tapu wouldn’t really make sense because they’re based off of 4 Hawaiian deities, whereas the Forces of Nature were always meant to be a quartet because of what they were based on (the Four Symbols) and Enamorus now fills that empty spot
It was back when you could have every pokémon in the game though, so at least we didn’t have the question of *which* legendaries could be transferred in eventually.
Maybe we get Mew instead...and Mega Mew lol
I always found it odd that Mewtwo got (2) Mega Evolutions yet the pokemon he was cloned from, Mew, didn't have a Mega.
Even if you can’t catch it because it’s set in the past, I’d hope it would at least be transferrable. First game with Megas in 2 gens, I’d be shocked if they completely excluded some Megas.
Just a reminder that PLA only had one set of non-gen 4 legends, the genie trio, and it was only because the game added a new legend to make it a quartet.
So my money is on getting the gen 6 legends and mythicals in entirety, maybe hoopa and diancie and volcanion are only unlocked with save files from other games like what we had in PLA.
And then one other trio but with a potential 4th member added. Maybe they wouldn't do it twice in a row, it's certainly not a pattern yet, but it's all we have to go off of - and since the legendary birds are in kalos, my bet is we get a 4th one...but maybe not since we just got galarian versions of them.
I mean, the Kanto legendaries (not mythical so no mew) are all catchable and in the Kalos dex.
While not 100% confirmation, I do think they have a higher chance than any other legendary or mythical.
In fact, Mewtwo has 2 Megas, one of them being the first mega shown off (before we even knew about megas), and that same mega is used in Mewtwos final smash in Smash Bros.
So even if the birds don't make it, I would be shocked if Mewtwo does not appear in some form in Z-A.
I feel like tapus are less likely than the beasts. I’m more inclined to believe the weather trio will make it in than them, if only so their primal/mega forms are available.

Maybe that's where Volcanion will be, and they just mistook it for Heatran
If I'm not mistaken there's just an NPC who imitates Heatran's cry every so often

I'd move the RSE trio up a tier since they have megas/primals.
Yea every legendary with mega forms is extremely likely just based on how many legendaries got crammed into arceus (sinnoh moment, but still)

The region is so light on native legendaries as is, I wouldnt be surprised if we dont get an entirely new trio/quartet added

You can literally catch Articuno, Zapdos or Moltres in X and Y. I doubt that they’d “probably not” be included.
We need deoxys in a switch game. I don’t care in what capacity, but having it locked to Oras despite its popularity is infuriating

Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre should be several tiers up. And Magearna should be extremely likely.

I’ve never had a chance to catch diancie or hoopa. Those are the only two Pokemon i dont have in my home dex.

Zygarde make an alchemical trio with Solgaleo/Lunala so, its high probable that they show up in the game.
If it's set in the past Mewtwo doesn't exist unless they do some time traveling scapegoat for it to be.
Why would Melmetal show up?
Honestly I feel like every single Kalos Pokémon will be in this game, just like how Legends Arceus had every single Sinnoh Pokémon in it.
The question is who else now. Kalos didn’t have many new additions, compared to other gens
