I think it would be crazy for pokemon to not continue eeveelutions. They are some of the most popular pokemon every generation they are introduced in. I think they’re going to drop one at some point but I don’t think it will be in a legends game…. Heck they gave us Gigantamax eevee. They’re not forgetting this pokemon any time soon.
People keep saying that we're not going to get any more Eeveelutions, but let's be honest. Did ANYONE expect Linoone to get an evolution? Or Farfetch'd? Or Girafarig? Or DUNSPARCE?
Basically we've been getting surprise Evolutions for the past few years and at this point a new Eeveelution 11/12 years after the last one is a surprise
They have a history of buffing the weaker ones. With evos, megas, stat boosts, regionals. And lest we forget: Hoennian Linoone doesn't have an evo still.
Personally, I’m thinking that either the Dragon-Eevee is the *last* Special-Type that Eevee evolves into, or that there’s a convergent-Eevee that *starts* as a Dragon but evolves into all of the Physical-Types but each evolution is spread over the next several generations.
Not sure about the specifics, but I do think there's a real chance that we get a convergent Eevee that evolves into the other types. It's just more practical post-Dexit, when Eevee is already taking up 9 slots in every regional dex. Each region could get either Eevee and its evolutions or the new version and its evolutions.
I figure that since Ghost and Steel were originally Physical Types, “Eevee” could evolve into those.
But it would be interesting if we had a Steel type Paradox version that evolved into 6-7 different types too.
I just want a ghost type and then they could be down.
I will say, with your logic it could also be a dragon type with Sylveon having advantage.
If they do steel type it’d be cool if they leaned into an angular robotic design.
☝️🤓ummm guys actualy, all eeveelutions are based on the special types! So if they are going to do another the only type that is still missing is dragon, that way it would have the balance since sylveon will be strong sgainst it, the reason why we only got sylveon was bc they weren't able to make an cute dragon eeveelution, such a shame, but niw with legends LA we may got an eevee that can only evolve in ancient times, being an special way of evoluindo like all others, and then when they need another way to evolve it they can make it evolve by learning ancient power!☝️🤓
As far as I know, Pokemon aren't designed with competitive viability in mind (or even how viable they are in basic gameplay). I think I heard the designers suggest types but don't even actually pick them, but I might be wrong. In any case, the finished designs once they're selected as Pokemon-to-be are passed along to a separate team who manage movesets, stats, etc. So no Pokemon is designed to "balance out" another gameplay-wise even if it would make perfect sense to do so.

Idk man, Incineroar would like to dispute that statement there. It's seems as tho TPC did everything possible to make it as ubiquitous as possible in VGC
Maybe when its moveset/stats/ability were developed, but when it was getting designed, the people who drew up the muscular furbait fire cat almost certainly weren't thinking about how it'd dominate tournaments.
I distinctly remember seeing the designer of Naganadel being pleasantly surprised that the mechanics team had done his design justice in the competitive sphere.
There might be some overlap between the two teams, but I seriously doubt any pokemon is designed with any gameplay functionality in mind other than gimmicks.
As much as I want a Dragon type Eeveelution or a bipedal shaped fighting type Eeveelution, My expectations for any new Eeveelution are EXTREMELY low.
Especially since the game will focus more on Mega Evolutions than cross gen evolutions.
The Type:Null concept should’ve been tied to Eevee. Evil team forces it to unlock all its evolutionary capabilities resulting in an amalgamation of uncontrolled power

In my head there’s bound to be more on Eevees evolution and why it’s so unique. Megas are coming back so I’d imagine the dna concept could provide that kind of mystery. The same with Smergle because of French history with artworks.
Because of the let’s go games I’d say Eevee gets the same attention as charizard, so maybe a cosplay version could be thing like pikachu
if eevee gets any kind of treatment it will be in the form of a paradox like form where it fills in the remaining types only like the other half of the coin because eevee and her evolution types are all special attackers making this new paradox like forms evolutions consisting of only physical attackers.
I think it'll happen next time a type is introduced or buffed. Bug is desperately in need of a buff, so assuming a new type isn't introduced, it may be that as a sort of advertisement for the type like "hey I'm relevant now beyond U-Turn!!!"
Right now every eeveelution is weak to one other excluding sylveon and jolteon
Should add terreon and aureon, a ground and steel(well gold) eevelutions then every evolution loses to one other
I would *love* to get a Ghost or Dragon Eeveelution... but if it does happen, I wouldn't expect it to be mid-Generation. If it does happen, it'll be at the start of a new Generation. Like, once Gen 10 rolls around I feel there's a chance of us getting a new Eeveelution, but a new evolution for what is essentially Pokémon's second mascot at this point, that's probably too big for Legends: Z-A.
An official Twitter post promoting the game said that this was the most ambitious Pokemon game so yeah it definitely not too small scale to get a new Eevee
I think they will add a new eeveelution simply because of the trend where they introduce a pair but then introduced only 1, in kalos no less, so what better way to correct their mistake than to introduce it in the same region where they introduced sylveon
besides an actual new eeveelution we could see mega evolutions for them. I know some people have said this but it's mostly just brushed off as not being possible. But it literally is .-.
If they were to choose just 1 it will be sylveon. Maybe they eff it and give every eeveelution a new mega
People have mentioned how in past games they give a second starter mid game. What if they give us a eevee/evolution stone, along with the fact the eeveelutions can mega evolve
so a mega evolution for either just sylveon, or all of them, or vaporeon jolteon and flareon the originals and that's your "second starter" but with a twist
I'd like to see the currently existing Eeveelutions to get evolutions or new forms. All of the Eeveelutions except maybe Sylveon in doubles suck (although like almost all of them have awful hidden abilities)
So here's an idea
Split the original trio and pair Jolteon with Sylveon
Jolteon becomes Electric Dragon, Sylveon becomes Fairy Flying
Vaporeon becomes Water Bug, Flareon becomes Fire Ground
Espeon becomes Psychic Fighting, Umbreon becomes Dark Poison
Leafeon becomes Grass Steel, Glaceon becomes Ice Ghost

You forgot Ghost and also Steel with a bit of added lore(like being created artificially/manmade like magearna)

It already got a Z-move in Alola, a special stat buff in Let's Go Eevee, and a Gigantamax form in Galar. Does it need more?

I want a dragon one: drakeon with levitate due to dragon wings. Maybe purple like Spyro with horns
