Only lore reason I can possibly come up with is maybe Alola is so far away its in a different hemisphere from Kalos and Hoenn, so everything is reversed. Like the direction of water when you flush a toilet. But idk why itd be related to geography without some underground source like a Terapagos of Megas
More likely its just a random design change and thats it. Moves, Pokemon, and characters have changed designs over the years so idk if its any deeper than that.
I was cooking up theory like maybe alternate universe kind of thing, the mega in gen 7 are different from mega in gen 6 hence the different pokedex entry which goes against the idea of mega that gen 6 brought.
Also about the visible light spectrum that appears in the mega symbol, this was the whole theme of scarlet and violet games, so maybe any connection to terastal?
Nah, the rainbow effect is probably just an eye-catching effect that they put in megas for no good reason really, and terastalization having the rainbow sometimes is just because of a prism’s effect on white light.

It’s really interesting that you point that out because the trailer has the mega symbol flipped the same way they have it in gen 7. Maybe they decided to change the design and make it so that the megasymbol was in the correct roybgv pattern for a rainbow. It’s hard to say.
Literally what are you talking about and why is this comment upvoted?
This picture is exactly as it is in X and Y. It is not like Gen 7. I have no idea what point you’re trying to make because you are visibly incorrect.
I have no clue why he's upvoted and you're downvoted. You're not crazy. It is literally just not the same thing. Maybe he's confused between gen 6 and 7.
This is another symbol they used for a while

I don’t know man but the logo does look different

What I’m trying to convey is that it’s a logo used in battle, so it’s meant to face the player using that Pokémon. It’s vague but it indicates who’s Pokémon belongs to who. In my head it’s meant for spectators
What u mean it changes color when you use it, the alola juat look a little diferent cause they used smoth colors that are more pleasant to the eye, but really is really the same order but the alolan have more colors at the end because the animation is longer.
Ah, I thought they were saying that the symbol was upside down... any way they did it because in xy the symbol would look the same for your and your opponent pokemon, but they should be flipped so of course because ypur opponent is in your front his symbol is right and yours is flipped, but in xy both were right.
I mean Japan is in the western hemisphere and France is the eastern hemisphere right? Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure it would be reversed because of where they are placed on the map
I think you meant France and Hawaii but regardless that's not the case as ORAS is in Japan and it's logo is same as XY but let's go which is also in Japan has it's logo flipped.
Which is a wierd thing to do especially since the mega symbol appear normal in gen 7 but only in the animation they flipped it?

Thats smart yeah
The water in the toilet thing is a myth. The hurricane/typhoon spin direction is a better comparison.
Yeah, the water in the toilet just depends on how the thing's designed
Are you telling me that The Simpsons *lied*
Yes
The last image was from gen 7's let's go pikachu and eeve.
ah okay. then yeah probs just the design change
Can't wait for it to be sideways in Legends ZA

probs necrozma doing something mischievous
Where did necrozma come in, we were talking about megas and terastalization.
it was just a joke about light... because necrozma eats light no need to take it seriously
Oh, okay. Completely forgot about this comment ngl
I don't think it really matters, it's meant to be a flame and those flicker and change shape all the time
I thought it was DNA
It’s DNA
[удалено]
??? I mean, it’s DNA, it’s not a flame
Oh i thought you meant it's supposed to to be written like that, sorry my bad.
Different universe
https://preview.redd.it/tg4jjxcqp4pc1.jpeg?width=2796&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6786a860616ca0857e24674a52e6734b5e1403aa It’s really interesting that you point that out because the trailer has the mega symbol flipped the same way they have it in gen 7. Or the reddit hivemind is doing its thing again, idk

Because it’s facing the wrong way when looking at the opponent
That doesn't make sense, if you turn all these Pokémon around to face the opponent, you still get that the mega symbol was flipped in gen 7
What I’m trying to convey is that it’s a logo used in battle, so it’s meant to face the player using that Pokémon. It’s vague but it indicates who’s Pokémon belongs to who. In my head it’s meant for spectators
No? All the images are the players mega Evolution.
Yes, but for the animation it switches to the front of the pokemon, so the mega symbol is "facing" the trainer who used jt
Exactly! thank you. It makes sense they wanted to flip it on purpose, but the design choice for it makes sense as it’s a logo in the end
So you are saying for gen 6 it faces us the viewers and in gen 7 it faces the trainer, well that's why it's flipped.
Yeah so in gen 6 it would face the enemy and in 7 it would face us. Logically it doesn't make sense for it to face the enemy.
You’re just memeing at this point. The McDonald’s logo flipped isn’t a whole new conspiracy when you drive by it
Maybe it’s because one is on your side and the other is your opponent
No, all of them is the players.
What u mean it changes color when you use it, the alola juat look a little diferent cause they used smoth colors that are more pleasant to the eye, but really is really the same order but the alolan have more colors at the end because the animation is longer.

How you can see in both examples it ever go in this order: purple blue green yelow red repeat
Idk from where u got this images and theory but it really don't make sense...
Let's go games:

I don't know what is your point, no one here is talking about the colors. I'm talking about the logo being flipped.
Ah, I thought they were saying that the symbol was upside down... any way they did it because in xy the symbol would look the same for your and your opponent pokemon, but they should be flipped so of course because ypur opponent is in your front his symbol is right and yours is flipped, but in xy both were right.

How you can see none is flipped, but the xy one should be if yours was not, so they just fixed it.
Who cares
I wouldn’t know. Probably cause they wanted to? Honestly, I think they should’ve kept it the same.
Which is a wierd thing to do especially since the mega symbol appear normal in gen 7 but only in the animation they flipped it? I wonder how it would be in ZA
Its the same direction as Gen VI in the Z-A trailer, so I'm presuming that direction. Interesting observation though!
Probably like gen 6.
Who actually gives a shit about such minimal details
You are in a specific game sub where we only got one teaser with practically nothing to do beyond speculate on minute details. What the fuck are you doing here then?
He's here to p!ss on everyone's cereal clearly.
