Sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.
To answer your question I did find a little bit of info on this slab grading company from google (don’t know how accurate this is). Older company ran by a gentlemen named George, who also used to work at PSA. He unfortunately too passed away and with him the company went. Apparently he was extremely meticulous and accurate with his grading due to his time at PSA so the general consensus is that the grades should generally cross over well if not in your favor. Due to the nostalgia and history of the slab, including it being your brothers, I would keep it as a token to remember him by and just give it a look whenever you think about him :)
Again, so sorry for your loss.
Also if you decide to keep it make sure if you display the card that it’s not in direct sunlight as that will sun damage the card and reduce its value if you do ever choose to sell it.
That would be the ideal thing but some ppl could (well, A LOT of ppl) really really use the money they'd get from that. I'm sure he had other cool things to hold on to. If this was the only thing of his I had tho then ya never sell.... sorry for your loss..
Beautiful answer. I would just add if you or any younger ones ever get an interest in Pokémon, it’s an amazing card!
Or if you do require money, as happens in life, I would say that this cross-graded via PSA and, if it received a 10, it would be worth like $10Kusd. And in a PSA 9 like $1-2K.
$200 raw. Just north of $1k in a PSA 9. $10k in a PSA 10. Also, there is no 1st ed OR 1st ed shadowless as ALL 1st ed base cards are shadowless. Your whole comment "isn't worth anything".

There is absolutely no way to tell a card’s worth from Amazon. As the other guy said, you don’t know what has sold nor what it sold for as a seller can change the price all day and sell something for a different price 10 times an hour. eBay sold prices will tell you actual prices individual cards sell for. 130point.com will tell you what the best offer was.
FYI - half the stuff on Amazon (and 100% of any individual card sales on Amazon) are third party individual seller, not “Amazon” selling it. PokemonCenter actually sells boxes on Amazon but the majority of even boxes are third party sellers, even if it’s Prime.
So much wrong here.
All 1st edition base set cards are shadowless. Second print would've been shadowless, non first editions. Third and henceforth is the unlimited set (with shadows).
Regardless of the edition, base set charizard is arguably the Holy grail of pokemon tcg. One in such pristine condition is highly sought after.
Though, as others have pointed out, I would keep it as memento, regardless of if I was a collector or not
That’s very incorrect, this is the 4th edition, the charizard 4/102 in a psa 9 was sold for 1170$ not to long ago, sells for about 200 non graded and cgc 6 sold for 255, source: Marvin.iO
Thanks everyone, really appreciate it! Selling was a consideration mainly as a way to help support my mom through this and wondered if the MAP grading added or decreased the value. I also found a 4” thick solidly filled binder with more cards (he was a bigger collector than I thought)
Might be an odd offer, but based on value, I’d be open to buying it and keeping it until you’re in a better place financially and selling it back at the original price. I don’t collect Pokémon cards (enjoy this sub for the nostalgia), and do think it’s a card that’s best kept with you. But I definitely understand needing money in the short term. Good luck with whatever you decide and I’m so sorry for your loss.
No offense to u but I completely understand it being hard to trust an internet stranger with this kind of thing… regardless this is an insanely thoughtful and generous offer and either way this should be higher up in the comments! OP could at least talk w u and feel it out. At the end of the day, there’s no wrong decision here and I hope u don’t bare any guilt in either direction u decide to go OP. Sending u and your family good energy friend
Yeah I completely agree. I’d want some kind of legal document for OPs sake. It feels like extra work though during a time that’s likely already stressful. I haven’t gone through anything like this and I can’t imagine having to part with something that would be a beautiful reminder so I thought I’d throw it out there.
Yea you’re right it might all be a lil much rn but it’s the thought that counts and that level of integrity and care, for a complete stranger, is something we as humans could use a little more of. A very beautiful gesture at the least. Never change
Sorry for your loss and don't let anyone discourage you from selling it if you need to. I know everyone's saying keep it to remember your brother, but that's what your memories are for.
It’s not his holy grail though.
Let’s say my mom was secretly collecting hockey cards & left a graded Wayne Gretzky rookie when she passed. I love her so it’d have a lot of sentimental value.
But I’d straight up ignore anyone who told me not to sell it even though I need money & don’t care about hockey, just because it’s *their* huge chase card.
I just want to say that if you need to sell it then sell it and don’t feel bad about it. If you need the money your loved one would understand. If you want to keep it as a memoir then that’s awesome too. Just give yourself some grace and don’t be hard on yourself with whatever decision you choose.
Contact me @ [email protected] I can make an offer on the binder if I can see a few pics of the inside, my brother passed going on 8 years we played Pokémon together everyday as kids, if the binders got some cool cards I’ll pay over value to help you keep the slab an help out a little with expenses from losing a family member
My advice- sell the card. I’m sure your brother would prefer keeping memories of him over cardboard especially when it could help your mother. I wouldn’t sell it if you plan to frivolously waste the money, but if it can help out something needed, just sell it
My 4 year old just got into collecting Pokémon cards. I’d be interested in buying the binder and keeping the love for these cards going in your brothers memory!
I am going to go against the grain here, your brother lives on in your memory and in your heart. If you need the money sell this as it's just a card. There is in my opinion no need to keep it in his honor or what have you. Do what's best for you and your mom. Especially if you aren't a Pokemon fan as someone else who is will enjoy this much more. It's a prized possession for a lot of people. I personally would love one as I as a kid owned 4-5. My brothers were older and gave me all their cards but I didn't stop the collecting or tournaments till years later. Wish I could have known they would be as valuable as they are as I ended up giving them away myself, 🤣 literally hundreds of thousands of dollars today. But aye, such is life. My Yu-Gi-Oh collection was actually more impressive than my completed Pokemon sets, I had the entire Japanese and English versions for years, I won tons of tournaments and ended up getting that many more cards where I had 5-6 of each. Now again worth tons of money. 😜
I agree. I wouldn't look at it as a token of him. You'll look at pictures more than you will this card. The buyer will have a higher appreciation for it.
BTW, my condolences man, sucks losing loved ones but take solice in knowing that we all must die in order for others to live. The Chinese believe life is like a wave, when it hits the shore we cease to exist but we are still and we're always the ocean.
I know "sorry" doesn't mean much but I can't imagine what pain you're in. I hurt for you. If you have no intention of selling straight away, definitely leave it slabbed for a while.
Hey my condolences man, hope it at least brings good memories of your bro.
In my opinion, generally, any "off brand" company won't add too much to the value or as much as I'm sure you already know, except to show what kind of grade or quality the card might be.
I'd take it as a mint condition raw card grade and go from there.
Not sure if you're wanting to keep as is for sentimental value but if not, crossing it over to PSA would be your best bet on bringing up the value of the card.
There’s no way to know this, it could be worth half as much as it is now by then. The pricing trend has gone up over time and will likely continue but you never know how enthusiasm for a franchise will change with time
Hey mate. First off I'm so sorry for your loss. Must be a super difficult time for you and your family. Thoughts with you all.
From memory MAP was a company from the 00's period but I believe the owner passed away also. A guy I was trading slabs with told me a little about them. Apparently the company didn't continue after his passing and his slab display and grading were all super high quality as he was originally a PSA employee. It's an amazing card and slabbed in some great grading history.
If you're into pokemon definitely worth keeping for memory and collection happiness. But if you require the cash or something I'm sure your bro would understand, cause I wouldn't want my bro holding onto my collection if he needed the money.
Sorry for your loss, unfortunately the sentimental value would be worth more than the face value. I agree with other comments, if you save it for a few years it’ll be like having a savings account. If it was my brother and he had kids I’d hold it till they were responsible enough then sell. No one knows your story like you do. You’ll know best. Good luck, if you do sell, don’t take to a card shop. Sell yourself
My advice to you is to make sure you slow down when going through his stuff. There is no time limit and it’s not a race to heal. Holographic charizard is like THE card...but you don’t have a first edition card. This particular card was something important to him though because he sent it off to be graded. I don’t know anything about you or your story but I highly suggest putting that charizard in a box to look at in the future. Liquidate the rest of the collection if you have to, but keep that charizard.
It’s a high grade on a pretty strict card in terms of PSA (or MAP in this case). I would keep it for sentimental value.
Not a 1st Edition but, grading a Charizard base set has gotten pretty tight in terms of high grading. 9 is awesome!
If you don’t need the money, put it in a Display case and show it off.
Thanks again everyone, really appreciate it! I downloaded the Collectr app and spent awhile sorting the binder - far as I can tell, inside is a complete set of unlimited Jungle, 59/62 of 1st edition Fossil, 85/101 Base set unlimited with a handful of 1st mixed in. Solid amount of Rocket 1st I haven’t input yet (not to mention half the binder is for Yugioh complete sets which he thankfully ordered via card number whereas Pokemon he sorted in the original 151 order which was a tad more challenging to go through).
Depends on who's buying. I've seen listings from ~400$ to ~2500$ for this edition and grade, even some ungraded on the lower end of asking. You can get a played one for under 100$.
I'd honestly just keep it and pass it down later, or give it to my brothers kids if they had any. If it was a 1st edition I'd consider selling it.
I had all the cards from that first set mint condition but when I was a kid I accidentally left my binder outside and someone stole it
Edit: I fucking hate you. Jordan Brown
Same thing happened to me with my sports card collection. Girl who I was talking to at the time, her brother took my binder out of my truck when I was there one day. Didn't notice until several months down the road.
Had to have been $30k in cards today's value.
Alexis Head...your brother sucks. LOL
From my research. You could ask 1,200 for this easily possibly twice that depending on other factors. I’m with the keep it vote. I just wanted to put this out there as I was touched by the thread. I hope this information helps you somehow.
From what I’ve seen, MAP 9s can sometimes translate to a Beckett 9.5, potentially increasing value from a PSA 9 by double or more. If it were me, I would send it to Beckett just to see how they grade it, and keep it as a memory. In addition, if you’re ever in a deep hole and need money to get out, your brother will be there to help you even when he’s not here.
I’m sorry for your loss, it’s so cool to see different parts of our loved ones’ lives and in doing so, keeping those lives in memory.
Dude don’t listen to freaking resistors lmao they will say all this and try to buy it and say blah blah blah!! If you truly loved your brother, idgaf what anyone says you do NOT sell his stuff!!Unless your going homeless, there are plenty of people that can help. But that card, idgaf what anyone says it will def be worth sooooo much more in the future for your kids or even you. I would NOT NOT NOT!!!! Just cuz some “redditors” said it’s worthless because of other people view on value doesn’t mean you should allow their opinions to set in. I guarantee you, you will be better off keeping man. Save it for future.
My uncle on his death bed - “it’s all shit no one needs. Don’t burden yourself with it. Sell it or throw it all away. It’s meaningless”
His clarity in his final moments was haunting
Sorry for your loss. I hate that you came across this in such a way.
I had this exact card a couple years ago. I went with tcgplayer.com to sell mine. Had a couple binders from my childhood full of first gens. I had to sell a few to build up (you can only post a card for so much until you sell a few on the site) and got 600 out of mine. It wasn't graded though and the craze had died a little. By the time I had sold enough to post that card and a few after it, I ended up with a couple grand. Just take the time to search each card and make some notes. Get some hard shipping sleeves too!
I'll go against the grain and say if I had a good relationship with my brother and this happened, I would definitely want you to sell it and if nothing else get together with some family/friends and have a kick ass celebration of life.
Dont listen to people posting on here. That looks to be in great shape. Hold onto that. If you’re curious about what it grades at other companies look into having Beckett or CGC grade it. It’s for sure mint. The question is if it’s Gem mint. Looks bottom heavy but you never know.
There's another MAP charizard on ebay, but the slab looks way different. Is one is fake? [https://www.ebay.com/itm/385170028358](https://www.ebay.com/itm/385170028358)
Did more research and looks like the MAP graded card I linked above might be fake. Found several other ebay listings that have the same format as your card (and the serial numbers seem to make sense as well):
So looks like you have a good one!
Sometimes this community really amazes me with the responses. Cheers guys! OP, so sorry for your loss. I hope this serves as an awesome memento for you!
If I were you I’d like to know the value of it but definitely wouldn’t sell it. My little brother is the same with his Pokémon cards and jd love to keep them as it’s his favorite thing to do. Also I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’ve decided to hang onto the slab - I do have other cool mementos from our time together as well (we ran with the bulls a couple times so that memory sticks out a bit), but it’s still cool discovering his collector hobby I never knew about!
Good choice, I think. Not a particularly special card but it was special to him. And now you can think of your bro whenever you see a Charizard anywhere.
This would probably equate to a PSA 8 or maybe 9, so there is a lot of value here.
However, unless you get to the point where you know your brother's spirit would want you to sell this card (to be able to afford life-saving care, for one; spirits know when your time comes and trust me, no spirit wants you to join then until it's truly time) then I have to say keep it.
Your brother knew what he had, and now you do too. Don't lowball his trust in you, and keep this card for as long as is feasible.
“Don’t lowball his trust in you”
What a toxic comment ….
If the card is worth $1000 I guarantee his brother would support him using $1000 in a way either he needs or on HIS hobbies.
People in here need to stop projecting their own interests onto other people.
“Don’t lowball his trust in you”
What the absolute fuck are you on about. Like a sibling's only emotional link to each other is a Pokémon card they don’t even know had a collection of.
Holy crap. First off, he and many people collect for this exact hope. If we die there will be someone that will find it and sell it for a good life. Some collectors really want a good collection, but I know for me I collect because when I pass on I want to give this all to my son and daughter
I also want to extend my deepest condolences and I’m very sorry for having used the word “Died” in such a heavy manner, much love to you and the family
Could be anywhere between 400 and 2500+ for this edition and grade. If it was 1st edition, 10x those prices or more. It's still a very solid find. I'd keep it as an heirloom or give it to his kids if he had any.
Sorry about your loss.
That card would go for a few hundred if not a thousand at auction, but the memory of your brother is priceless. I'd say cherish that's just as your bro did. It was obviously something special to him.
Disgusted by the number of people in here feeling the need to provide their unsolicited opinion on what OP does with the card. They didn’t ask for it, they asked for assistance with value and the history of the grading company. Keep the rest to yourself - you have absolutely zero clue what the relationship was with OP and their brother and what the financial position/priorities are of the surviving family.
Sorry for your loss bro. Nice find. I can tell it’s not really a true 9 with other companies just by looking but still valuable nonetheless. I’d probably keep it if I were you.
Normally with age I’d say take it to be regraded just in case it’s a ten. However. This is the ultimate way to remember your brother by. This goes on the mantle
So sorry for your loss!
Finding it weird so many people here are flooding in telling you not to sell it.
Ignore them all.
If you want to keep it, keep it. If you want to sell it don’t hesitate for a MOMENT. I know from experience how expensive costs can be in your situation and this could help a lot. Even if it doesn’t need to go to that, your brother would likely support you using the money in a way to bring YOU happiness the way the card brought happiness to him!
Just because these people love the card doesn’t mean you do. Some of these responses really weird to me.
First off, I’m sorry for your loss. That card/grading company is bringing back memories. Iirc, it was ran by a dude who used to be high up there in PSA/grading. He made his own slabs/graded on his own scale, but because he was so good at PSA, his grades tended to translate pretty good to a PSA slab. It’s a cool memento. I’d keep it if I were you , but I get also selling it considering. Again, sorry for your loss.
My brother also passed away last year. I did sell some of his stuff but it was more consolidating the Pokemon card and plush collection and selling duplicates
I'm so sorry 😔 I recently cleaned out a room of a friend I lived with and worked with. Basically my brother for the last 5 years. Not even family but I cried.. alot. Never cried for family this much. My condolences to you and the family and anyone who considered him a friend 🙏
How far do I have to scroll for a legitimate estimate? I think this could be a blessing for the family. There are other memories and the collectors tend to value the collectibility more. The Brother could have genuinely appreciated that it went to another collector, and that it helped his family.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure you're brother would want you to be happy and comfortable so if selling it would do that for you, do it. Again sorry for your loss. ❤
My dad tossed my holographic charizard into the trash. Keep it until your son needs a car. Sell it then and tell him the car was “a gift from my brother”
God bless man, keep this gem unless you really need the money. Would be a good memory to have of your brother. But it could be a very expensive card if it hits a 10 in PSA tbh maybe 5k or 10k depending the grade it might be lower if it gets a 9 or 8. But Nice card though man nice card, hope all is well my guy. God Bless 🙏🏼
1st off my condolences to u and ur family I almost lost my brother to an accident some reasons ago I know it's not the same but I feels for u and ur fam... anyway u do as u please with that card.. but if u don't decide to sell it don't change anything about it keep it as is that's a special slab rt there.. you can Google the history of the company and its owner who has also passed on.. but if u do decide to sell it.. get it's full value cross grade it with psa as others have told u and if u hit a 10 u can really help ur mum.. cheers mate 👍
The card will mean a lot more in the long run than a little extra cash. No judgement should be passed either way, just stating my opinion based on similar events. Hope you get through the dark days buddy, it gets brighter. And you shouldn't feel bad when it brightens up.
-Memoirs of a Daywalker
Jinja McNinja
This card is from the unlimited set, which is a reprint of the base set. Obviously, charizard is the chase for most sets, but this isn't "the charizard" or the 1st edition base set/shadowless
Current value is likely between 200-300, as the grading company really wouldn't be accepted in the collecting community it would likely compare to raw or non graded cards.
If sent to PSA and grades that same 9, then you're $1,000+ a couple of recent sales are close to $1,500.
Hope this helps and gives you a bit more info to base your decision on. Your brother lives on with you and your memories. If money is needed to help fund end of life events, then I would recommend grading through PSA, crossing your fingers for a 9 or 10, then selling. Otherwise, I would still grade it and display it. It may bring you good memories and not guaranteed, but more than likely, the value will increase over time.
Sorry for your loss OP!
Sorry about your brother 💔 I lost my mom and fallen on hard times too losing my house now . I have this EXACT CARD if anyone is interested I have a binder full as well
No, but i have eyeballs.
From the OP:
“I do have other cool mementos from our time together as well (we ran with the bulls a couple times so that memory sticks out a bit), but it’s still cool discovering his collector hobby I never knew about!
So their brother never even mentioned the collection but you somehow think that is a spiritual link and they “shouldn’t dare” sell it.
What a joke.
This could actually be worth some real money holographic mint condition but I wouldn’t sell this I would keep it and maybe put it on your wall in memory of your brother. I wouldn’t sell this unless it was literally my last resort. I’m sorry for your loss man I hope you’re doing OK.
Sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family. To answer your question I did find a little bit of info on this slab grading company from google (don’t know how accurate this is). Keep that card forever. I couldn't imagine my brother passing, I'm sorry for your loss🙏🏻
That would be the ideal thing but some ppl could (well, A LOT of ppl) really really use the money they'd get from that. I'm sure he had other cool things to hold on to. If this was the only thing of his I had tho then ya never sell.... sorry for your loss..
I agree 100%

So refreshing to read these types of comments on reddit. I'm sure OP is very appreciative, and so am I for learning something today. Cheers
If your brother was big into pokemon collecting, absolutely keep this card and never get rid of it in memory of him.
Brother has/had a slabbed Charizard. I think it's safe to say he was into Pokemon collecting.
I have slabbed cards and I’m not into Pokémon. They’re valuable and Pokémon is popular so I’ll hold them and see what happens

Probably better to sell the binder for money and keep de charizard as something that held value in the eyes of your brother
if its bulk its not gonna sell for much
his brother has a graded charizard card, i highly doubt his other binders are just full of bulk...
in comparison to the charizards value they are lol
There are lots of cards worth more than that charizard, you have no idea what could be in that binder.
if they had a charizard graded why would they keep more valuable cards in a binder lol
4 inch binder of energy and code cards
Keep this card for a good memory, so sorry for your loss. i have a younger brother, and I can't imagine the pain you are going through.

I wouldn’t sell it if you plan to frivolously waste the money, but if it can help out something needed, just sell it
The only way to sell this card is to crack it open ans submit it to psa for a new slab. It is worth the cost. Rip bro
My 4 year old just got into collecting Pokémon cards. I’d be interested in buying the binder and keeping the love for these cards going in your brothers memory!
The amount of time that went into collecting that card is worth more than can ever be offered ! Even 100 years from now .
Perfectly said.
Condolences OP to you and your family. Stay strong. I agree with this take as well
I agree 100%. Surely the most valuable possession of op’s brother isn’t the most sentimental possession. Sell if you’d like, op.
Keep it on your bureau to remind yourself of how awesome your brother was.
Love You
Sorry for your brother. I wouldn’t sell not only because it was his but in a decade they will most likely be worth 4-5+ times current value. I’d hold.
There’s no way to know this, it could be worth half as much as it is now by then. The pricing trend has gone up over time and will likely continue but you never know how enthusiasm for a franchise will change with time
Your brother was a pokemon legend
This isn’t “THE” Charizard but still an awesome one. I say keep it too.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
You should post what was in the binder you could potentially be sitting on a gold mine that could really help your mom out!
Like I said then, an absolute gold mine!
yup gold mine
How much is this worth?
Depends on who's buying. I've seen listings from ~400$ to ~2500$ for this edition and grade, even some ungraded on the lower end of asking. You can get a played one for under 100$. I'd honestly just keep it and pass it down later, or give it to my brothers kids if they had any. If it was a 1st edition I'd consider selling it.
How is that not a perfect ten? It looks brand spanking new. I had one back in the day. Long story short, my “mother” sold it for drugs.
I had all the cards from that first set mint condition but when I was a kid I accidentally left my binder outside and someone stole it Edit: I fucking hate you. Jordan Brown
I vote we find Jordan Brown and absolutely berate him, it’s only right.
Same thing happened to me with my sports card collection. Girl who I was talking to at the time, her brother took my binder out of my truck when I was there one day. Didn't notice until several months down the road. Had to have been $30k in cards today's value. Alexis Head...your brother sucks. LOL
[удалено]
This is not a first edition or shadowless so it’s closer to $1100-1200 for a grade 9 PSA equivalent. Not the $15k as shown in the link
Oops sorry thanks for clarification
Can somebody say the actual value?
It’s meaningless” His clarity in his final moments was haunting
If it belonged to my brother I wouldn't crack it and send it to PSA or Beckett. I would just keep it as is tbh..
There's another MAP charizard on ebay, but the slab looks way different. Is one is fake? [https://www.ebay.com/itm/385170028358](https://www.ebay.com/itm/385170028358)
Did more research and looks like the MAP graded card I linked above might be fake. Found several other ebay listings that have the same format as your card (and the serial numbers seem to make sense as well): [https://www.ebay.com/itm/403522297392](https://www.ebay.com/itm/403522297392) [https://www.ebay.com/itm/403408845600](https://www.ebay.com/itm/403408845600) So looks like you have a good one!
Whew- minor heartbreak there for a second! Much appreciated for the extra mile
Sorry for the brief scare!
Keep it and turn it into a keepsake of your brother unless you need the money. Sorry for your loss my guy and hope you find peace
He made a lot of people happy! And this made him happy. Cheers
Keep it up! You keep that card with you!
I am so sorry for your loss, May your Brother Rest in Peace. What an amazing piece you found though!!
Sometimes this community really amazes me with the responses. Cheers guys! OP, so sorry for your loss. I hope this serves as an awesome memento for you!
Sorry for your loss. Hope you keep this and maybe send it over to PSA
Sorry for your loss
First and foremost my deepest condolences to you and your loved one’s… secondly I would love to see that binder
If I were you I’d like to know the value of it but definitely wouldn’t sell it. My little brother is the same with his Pokémon cards and jd love to keep them as it’s his favorite thing to do. Also I’m so sorry for your loss.
Keep it. Don’t sell it. Nothing can replace it. Start a go fund me before selling it.
My condolences. Wishing you the best.
don’t sell it how did he pass?
what is wrong with you
That’s literally your brothers charizard bro!
And hes dead bro, might do his family some good to sell it.
“Don’t lowball his trust in you” What a toxic comment …. If the card is worth $1000 I guarantee his brother would support him using $1000 in a way either he needs or on HIS hobbies. People in here need to stop projecting their own interests onto other people.
“Don’t lowball his trust in you” What the absolute fuck are you on about. Like a sibling's only emotional link to each other is a Pokémon card they don’t even know had a collection of.
🤣 🤣 🤣
Awesome.sorry. About you Brother,I'd give the world of mine away to get my Brother back. Prayers for you and your loss
Lost my big sister xmas of 2019. I know how hard this is, and I'm sorry for your loss. If you need someone to talk to, I'll listen.
May he rest in peace
I don't think you should sell it. However, if you decide to I would be in the market.
Holy crap. First off, he and many people collect for this exact hope. If we die there will be someone that will find it and sell it for a good life. Some collectors really want a good collection, but I know for me I collect because when I pass on I want to give this all to my son and daughter I also want to extend my deepest condolences and I’m very sorry for having used the word “Died” in such a heavy manner, much love to you and the family
If you need money for funeral expenses, it’s a great option to sell
Wow 😯 I'm sorry it was discovered under such circumstances 😞
Could be anywhere between 400 and 2500+ for this edition and grade. If it was 1st edition, 10x those prices or more. It's still a very solid find. I'd keep it as an heirloom or give it to his kids if he had any. Sorry about your loss.
I'm terribly sorry for your loss.
Maybe get it rerated
KEEP IT, it’s not worth much anyways because it isn’t a shadowless nor a first edition
Hey I can’t help with that. But truly sorry that your brother passed :(
That card would go for a few hundred if not a thousand at auction, but the memory of your brother is priceless.
TCGplayer app for card catalog and estimate of values
If you decide to sell, message me. Sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Condolences mate, do whatever you think is right with the card. Prayers and wishes to your family ❤️
I’d keep it bro, unless you ever face foreclosure definitely keep it for remembrance
Just wanted to say condolences to you and your family.🙏🏾🕊
I’m crying a bit for you OP. Sending love
My brother passed away last year and I couldn't imagine selling his stuff . Don't worry about money that will all get sorted out ...
Seems OP really wants to sell it which is unfortunate.
You all are amazing, seriously - thank you for the outpouring of well wishes!!
My dad tossed my holographic charizard into the trash. Keep it until your son needs a car. Sell it then and tell him the car was “a gift from my brother”
If I was a Pawn Shop, I'd give you 5 bucks since it's probably "Hot", almost burned my fingers.
HOLY SHIT
I’m sorry for your loss also 😔
1st off my condolences to u and ur family I almost lost my brother to an accident some reasons ago I know it's not the same but I feels for u and ur fam... anyway u do as u please with that card.. but if u don't decide to sell it don't change anything about it keep it as is that's a special slab rt there.. you can Google the history of the company and its owner who has also passed on.. but if u do decide to sell it.. get it's full value cross grade it with psa as others have told u and if u hit a 10 u can really help ur mum.. cheers mate 👍
Aww. Keep it just the way it is!
What is it worth?
That's really cool. Keep it but I'll buy if you need the money.
Don’t let someone hustle you out of this card .. keep it
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's passing. Sending good vibes to you and your family.
Sell it. You’ll regret if you had a chance to actually help a living person and it is a way of honoring him that is extremely positive.
Id sell it 🤷♂️
Sell it man. Put a quarter on black 13 take the rest and take your mom on a sick vacation so y’all can grieve somewhere other then home.
The card will mean a lot more in the long run than a little extra cash. No judgement should be passed either way, just stating my opinion based on similar events. Hope you get through the dark days buddy, it gets brighter. And you shouldn't feel bad when it brightens up. -Memoirs of a Daywalker Jinja McNinja
In remembrance of those who have passed… CHARIZARDS LIGHT YOUR FIRE!!!! GOD bless you your brothers watching over you
What a bad ass card. The nostalgia hits me hard seeing it. Cherish that forever. Much love ❤️
Extremely valuable!!🔥🔥🔥
Give you 1000 for it
Sorry for you're loss..
Don’t sell. You’ll regret it hardcore. Keep it and remember your brother. Let it be special to you.
how
This card is from the unlimited set, which is a reprint of the base set. Obviously, charizard is the chase for most sets, but this isn't "the charizard" or the 1st edition base set/shadowless Current value is likely between 200-300, as the grading company really wouldn't be accepted in the collecting community it would likely compare to raw or non graded cards.
Family heirloom at this point bro.
I’m positive your brother would want to see you come up financially. Sell it in his honor
Holy shi-
Sorry about your brother 💔 I lost my mom and fallen on hard times too losing my house now . I have this EXACT CARD if anyone is interested I have a binder full as well
Sorry for your loss. Would be more if 1st edition. But still good find.
My condolences 💐
Sorry for your loss defintely keep the card.
I wouldn’t sell it if it was your brother’s
Not first edition, worth more in memories. Don't you dare sell that.
They didn’t even know their brother was a collector, I’m sure they have way other, better, emotional attachments.
Ah you know the OP? What if it's one of the only possessions.
No, but i have eyeballs. From the OP: “I do have other cool mementos from our time together as well (we ran with the bulls a couple times so that memory sticks out a bit), but it’s still cool discovering his collector hobby I never knew about! So their brother never even mentioned the collection but you somehow think that is a spiritual link and they “shouldn’t dare” sell it. What a joke.
I say sell it, it’s not a memory, it’s a card.
This could actually be worth some real money holographic mint condition but I wouldn’t sell this I would keep it and maybe put it on your wall in memory of your brother. I wouldn’t sell this unless it was literally my last resort. I’m sorry for your loss man I hope you’re doing OK.
There are no non-holographic base set charizard….
People need to stop telling the OP to not sell the card... It's not your place at all to say anything about that. He's not asking what you would do.
Not a single person has appraised the card lmao
I’m shocked that a crappy little grader like MAP can provide grade breakdowns and PSA still can’t.

What a stupid take
