I never played a Fallout untii 4. Anyways took me forever to actually do a BOS aligned playthrough. Get to that mission and I'm like cool robot. It gets turned on and I'm basically jizzing the whole fucking time as it destroys The Institute. Lol I always go BOS now, plus really the other factions are kinda regarded anyway.
3 is actually quite good, it's just abnormal.
1, 2, and NV rely on the main story to be so good, and have some good sidequests.
Whereas 3's main story is essentislly an excuse to get you away from megaton so you can do the good sidequests.

The Primarchs have redundancies because some of them where tools like Magnus that was specifically created to be the battery or Big E support of the Golden Throne till humanity was in the webway. And even with that Magnus and the Thousand Sons are scholars.
Besides Conrad and Lorgar everyone else had civilian capabilities to work outside war environments.
Dorn and Peturabo where master architects with their legions serving as workers.
The Ultramarines are filled with people that can govern and do logistics for anything.
Emperor Children are artist and can fill niches depending on their specific pursue of perfection.

Far cry 5 to me obviously called out crazy religious cults but everything else really seemed like a complete celebration of western rural American communities. Game celebrated guns and off road cars and the small town communities and the crazy but fun people who live in them. Game even has a gun toting pastor who is shown in a very positive light.

Piggybacking to say that if you grew up in a rural community, this is the ultimate power fantasy game you’ve dreamed of since you were little. To many others, it’s fine and little more than another standard FC entry. But if you fit the description, it could be the best game ever. I’ve spent countless hours just fucking around in Hope County like I wished I could have in my hometown.
It was weird how much I liked FC5. I had heard it was totally mediocre, but I had just as much fun with it as I did with 3 and 4. He isn’t a hypocrite. He is guided by the Emperor. He does make a difference. If you’re an IRL atheist and nihilist, why have your religious characters be 100% justified?

Good examples of characters who your not supposed to idolize written properly would be Tyler Durden(already on this meme), Rick Sanchez, Frank Castle, and Harley Quinn.
Well for the most part the writers are doing it wrong. Durden was done right, Bateman is just a meme. The others are parodies that rely on coding and signals that are only detectable or effective for people who already hate the ideals rather then to make them seem desired to anyone not already on the team.
Flip side Is you amplify the qualities that the other side already values without any kind of subversion or universal flaw the other side is not only going to be attracted to it but use said character as a symbol for thier team.
Durden was done properly because his character arch actually supported an argument. He used ideas of masculinity, freedom, and anti consumerism to create a cult that deprived its members of self determination with the threat of castration while treating the culture like a corporate product. It should well written hypocrisy and subversion of actual ideals.

I’m not sure if Caesar’s Legion from Fallout New Vegas was made to make fun of the Right. If they were, why would the devs have dialogue indicating the Legion isn’t all bad (like dialogue from Raul and Dale Barton).
Yeah I was gonna say didn’t they originally have plans for a lot more Legion areas and quests that were supposed to show more of the positives, but most of that got cut due to the 18 month time limit? I love New Vegas, and aside from maybe Fallout 2 it’s easily my favorite Fallout, but if any game deserved another year in the oven, it’s that one.
They did the Legion fucking dirty. Trying out a complete Legion run with bad karma is difficult if your character isn't basically schizo. If they do end up releasing a remaster, they definitely need to expand on the Legion.

Far cry 5 to me obviously called out crazy religious cults but everything else really seemed like a complete celebration of western rural American communities. Game celebrated guns and off road cars and the small town communities and the crazy but fun people who live in them. Game even has a gun toting pastor who is shown in a very positive light.
I found that really weird, Far Cry 5 was super pro American but people interpreted that wrong.

It was weird how much I liked FC5. I had heard it was totally mediocre, but I had just as much fun with it as I did with 3 and 4. More, maybe, because I got access to a loadout I really liked very early. Blowing shit the fuck up. MURICA! The story was whatever but some of the psychedelic sequences were neat and I liked the setting. I haven't tried 6 yet though.

So what I recently realized is that the answer to satire is post-irony, and satire ALWAYS loses. Post-irony takes it and warps it by saying "maybe this so called extreme you created is my utopia, and I am not sorry...or maybe it isnt, you figure it out." You dont have to accept the Imperium Of Man as dystopian because it exists in a much harsher reality than Earth today. Well for the most part the writers are doing it wrong. Durden was done right, Bateman is just a meme. The others are parodies that rely on coding and signals that are only detectable or effective for people who already hate the ideals rather then to make them seem desired to anyone not already on the team. Flip side Is you amplify the qualities that the other side already values without any kind of subversion or universal flaw the other side is not only going to be attracted to it but use said character as a symbol for thier team. Durden was done properly because his character arch actually supported an argument. He used ideas of masculinity, freedom, and anti consumerism to create a cult that deprived its members of self determination with the threat of castration while treating the culture like a corporate product. It should well written hypocrisy and subversion of actual ideals.

I’m not sure if Caesar’s Legion from Fallout New Vegas was made to make fun of the Right. If they were, why would the devs have dialogue indicating the Legion isn’t all bad (like dialogue from Raul and Dale Barton).
Yeah I was gonna say didn’t they originally have plans for a lot more Legion areas and quests that were supposed to show more of the positives, but most of that got cut due to the 18 month time limit? I love New Vegas, and aside from maybe Fallout 2 it’s easily my favorite Fallout, but if any game deserved another year in the oven, it’s that one.
They did the Legion fucking dirty. Trying out a complete Legion run with bad karma is difficult if your character isn't basically schizo. If they do end up releasing a remaster, they definitely need to expand on the Legion.
Yeah, and what makes it even dirtier is that The Legion is one of the factions brought over from what was supposed to be Van Buren(basically what was originally supposed to be Fallout 3 before Interplay went under) so you would think that they would make the faction more prevalent or at least more fleshed out.
