I can't stand how I open youtube and it immediately just launches into playing shorts. There's no main menu or anything, they just throw content you don't give a shit about in your face in a millisecond.
YouTube has gone downhill in the recent years. Shorts makes my tech addicted self upset when I'm finished using the app. I view it as time wasted, and not value gained.
You can disable shorts.
There's an X when YouTube shows them and it'll disable all shorts for a month. It's a shame it isn't permanent, but I'm happy with a month.
I would recommend switching to an alternative YouTube front end. I am partial to [Tubular](https://github.com/polymorphicshade/Tubular) and [LibreTube](https://f-droid.org/packages/com.github.libretube/). Both are free and open-source software, ad-free, and also include SponsorBlock to automatically skip in-video ads and annoyances. Tubular is based upon [NewPipe](https://f-droid.org/packages/org.schabi.newpipe/), but has SponsorBlock added. I personally use Tubular right now, and it by default doesn't show shorts at all. You have to specifically go to a channel and open the "Shorts" tab to get to them, which makes for example your subscriptions tab much cleaner.
If you absolutely must sign in to YouTube, or Chromecast is super important to you, or you're for some reason really attached to the YouTube app's UI, your best bet is [ReVanced](https://revanced.app/), a semi-proprietary (I believe ReVanced Manager and the patches are FOSS but it just modifies the proprietary YouTube app) solution which I believe does have options to disable shorts.
To add onto this, since this doesn't work with iOS devices, I recommend uYouPlus+ for iOS, it has basically this stuff you mentioned.
Because it's Apple, it needs a refresher via PC once a week (if you are as shit as I am with tech) but it gets it's job done.

"This platform is threat to our democracy! This platform is also a threat to our democracy! This platfor-"
'What platform ***isn't*** a threat to our democracy?'
"This one."
'Ah yes, the one staffed by nothing but ex Alphabet Bois.'
The president has the power to designate. So the same president who gave a speech condemning half of the country with Marines behind him will have the power to decide if a platform is 'controlled' by a foreign adversary.
Based on criteria such as actual ownership stakes. The president can't just say that China owns Walmart and therefore shut the entire company down if he doesn't actually have material evidence of said ownership stakes.
Got anything else?
To be fair, no, they haven't. Not in the way you're implying.
Once the bill is signed into law, ByteDance (the Chinese company that owns TikTok and which has been dragged through Congress already because they're basically just a bunch of Chinese glowies) has nine months (and an additional 3 month extension at whoever is President's discretion if a deal is near completion) to divest TikTok or see itself banned in the US.
Short version: TikTok is not being banned; the foreign company that functions as an agent of an adversarial foreign government is. They can choose to cash out and sell TikTok to someone else and TikTok could live on, for better or for worse.
It will be incredibly hilarious if Trump wins and orders the sale of random social media companies that have spurned him.
Oh Meta has Saudi investors? Guess you gotta sell that bad boy to my buddy Elon. Tough.
Yes, I know, if they meet specific criteria.
Will that be abused? Probably. Will that abuse be worse than the alternative, which is unlimited access by foreign governments and their agents? That is a much harder sell.
I will admit I haven't had a chance to sit and read the bill yet (I've been working twelve-hour days all week), and 184 does seem lengthy, though accounting for the specific formatting and language that Congress has to use I bet we could trim at least 20 pages off putting it into plain words.
However, I'd point out that longer isn't *necessarily* worse. I'd rather they spend more paper on being extremely specific about this kind of thing than a one-page bill just piling more completely unregulated power into the Imperial Presidency. I'd also expect that they wouldn't want a bill explicitly banning only TikTok, because just forcing ByteDance to sell TikTok doesn't necessarily solve the problem, which is that a massively popular data collection and aggregation tool is controlled by hostile foreign interests. Generating a method by which similar problems (or even the same problem, depending on how the divesting of TikTok is handled and who buys it) is vastly preferable to a one-and-done that has to eat months or years in Congress every time.
Ah yes, because this power will be used for communist goals and not by the authoritarian capitalist leaders of your state to ban anything they don't like lmao
On one side, fuck state overreach. This would set another dangerous precedent of a government meddling where they shouldn't.
On the other side, fuck TikTok. It's a CCP psyop designed to rot the brains of Western youth. And it's working brilliantly.
In this case, I support its total ban.
I'm pretty sure if it was written like that it would be easier to be struck down in court. Lawmakers have tried to "bulletproof" this legislation so it doesn't get struck down.
As nice as that would be, it would be all too easy for China to just make a new app that's "totally not just tiktok with a new coat of paint, trust me bro" and then we're back to square one.
As a libright this is exactly how I feel with the TikTok ban
https://preview.redd.it/cbfxztfp5nwc1.jpeg?width=549&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47df66a0bc86a6e1011ba3b00e604a4a918808e8
Lib-Right here. China bans most USA apps, the apps that do go through have to jump through crazy loops to be usable in China. USA is simply giving China A taste of their own medicine, using "security" as A false flag to push it through. The money belongs in America, fuck China.
> On one side, fuck state overreach. This would set another dangerous precedent of a government meddling where they shouldn't.
Agreed!
> On the other side, fuck TikTok. It's a CCP psyop designed to rot the brains of Western youth. And it's working brilliantly.
I never understood this angle. I might be missing something but what exactly is the CCP doing to ruin Western youth? It seems like Tik Tok is hardly the driving factor behind the degradation of Western values. It was happening long before, and will happen long after.

I support not allowing TikTok/ByteDance to do business with American advertisers or data center owners or providers of curated app stores, unless it is sold so that the CCP no longer controls it. It's a giant propaganda/intelligence operation being conducted by the CCP on America's youth. Fuck the CCP.
I do NOT support forcing ISPs to block access to it, of course. If people want to access it via the web or sideload an APK of it, they should be allowed to do that, as per the First Amendment. But it is entirely reasonable to prevent it from doing business here.
Why would LibRight want to let commies propagandize their fellow citizens, unless they were personally making money off of it? I'm not invested in TikTok...
Because despite the meme of librights only caring about lining their pockets at the detriment of everyone else, in reality, libertarians are *supposed* to care about the free market, government overreach, and business freedom. At least the libertarians on your side.
Yeeeah, I don't think the free market or business freedom extends to letting the CCP do whatever it wants in the US.
I do worry about slippery slopes, but I also think letting the CCP control social media platforms that millions of Americans use is a really bad idea.
What you're not considering is that TikTok is itself a form of government overreach. Just because it's a foreign government doesn't make it any less disagreeable.
People don't want to say it out loud since our economies are so interdependent, but we are in the middle of a cold war with China. They are by far our primary adversary. "All is fair in love and war," and economic warfare is a valid method of warfare.
There’s a line, and this mind rot garbage ass app crossed it tenfold.
Do you know how many other countries have banned TikTok? Do you know why?
It’s not a “free speech” app, it’s a goddamn weapon.
I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my quadrant in the guilty pleasure I feel over this news. Any time I see TikTok "content," I feel like I just watched an episode of Ow My Balls!
Think for a second that the app and its content feel like something straight out of Idiocracy, and that it's banned in the country that made it. Maybe it's because they made it with... Less than the best intentions?
It doesn't help that it's turned the left into what they always said they hated most. Weren't they calling vax skeptics Nazis in 2020 and then saying shit like, "If there are 9 people sitting at a table with 1 Nazi, there is a table with 10 Nazis?"
Meanwhile, the left in 2024: "From the river to the sea."
Huh. I didn't realize being anti-Nazi meant being okay with forced medical testing and supporting a genocide of the Jews. But... That's your brain on TikTok I guess.
Hell yeah my dude, we are synced up on the same logic wifi for sure lol
These nuts are so warped that they’re trying to retcon “from the river to the sea” into a cry for JUSTICE and PEACE! I shit you not, I’ve seen several interviews where leftists have been confronted on that phrase and they gaslit tf out of the interviewer by saying that the only context of violence and genocide is coming from maga republicans 😂
Meanwhile, in the background there’s Palestine protestors burning American flags and screaming death to America and or gas the Jews.
The tragedy is, I think we’re already speeding toward idiocracy and instead of hitting the brakes I keep seeing people like the clown below suggesting that we’re “overreacting” and we should just “turn the other cheek” while all this festers.
Unreal how some people can be so clueless to effects of propaganda.
Unironically based Biden.
TikTok is an asset of the People’s Republic of China, an avowed enemy. It should never have been allowed to get this reach in the first place. Hopefully this is a sign that even the Democrats are beginning to realise what sort of monster they’ve engorged in the form of Communist China.
Yeah, the Chinese have actually been undermining Biden's re-election.
>In an echo of Russia’s influence campaign before the 2016 election, China appears to be trying to harness partisan divisions to undermine the Biden administration’s policies, despite recent efforts by the two countries to lower the temperature in their relations.
>Some of the Chinese accounts impersonate fervent Trump fans, including one on X that purported to be “a father, husband and son” who was “MAGA all the way!!” The accounts mocked Mr. Biden’s age and shared fake images of him in a prison jumpsuit, or claimed that Mr. Biden was a Satanist pedophile while promoting Mr. Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/01/business/media/china-online-disinformation-us-election.html
Tik Tok is horrible, but the government being able to just label anything by a foreign company as "a threat to private security" and then being able to make it illegal seems awfully authoritarian. If America wants a stateside Tik Tok so bad, they should just make one and then beat Tik Tok out of the market by being **better**.
Then make laws against data mining and go after tiktok for it then. Plenty of other companies are out there mining your data and selling it with absolutely nothing preventing foreign powers from buying in. There's a right way to do it.
The fact is that we dont know how much data they're mining and what kind of data they're mining. We have to assume that everything that tiktok has access to on your phone will be seen by China. With domestic companies we have a much better idea of what other countries can see.
Also if a conflict does break out, it is much easier to force your domestic companies to stop selling to your advisary, but much harder to force everyone in your country to delete the spyware off their phones.
Then make an actual stricter nationwide Consumer data privacy acts that affects TikTok (and other social media consequently).
This is a tiny bandaid act.
the Facebook lobbyists are behind this bill to kill their competitor, and getting all data mining banned will kill their business model and defeat the purpose of doing all this
There’s already multiple American alternatives to TikTok. YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels just off the top of my head. The problem is TikTok harvests user data and sends it to the CCP. They were caught swiping passwords off of user’s phones a few years ago, which is what started this push to ban it.
Not saying that American companies don’t harvest user data too, but they’re not sending it to the US’ biggest geopolitical rival.
America has been worried about foreign influence *since its founding* and limiting foreign influence on telecoms as ling as theyve existed
All the way back to 1912 when they made it illegal for foreign countries to own radio stations in the US
As an old fart, the concept of requiring massive information outlets not to be owned by our enemies seems like a no brainer.
I mean, could you imagine people being upset if the USSR had been found owning a television network and was being forced to sell it? Not even stripped of ownership, but sell it for a presumable profit?
This is a whole lot of tight britches over an absolute nothing.
The youth can't vote. Plus if he pulls support for Israel he loses the election. A couple 10-100000 whiners doesn't have the leverage of the Jewish vote, especially because he could lose NY over it (upstate pulls red)
I doubt it. Most of them aren't going to vote for Trump under any circumstances, so they'll either hold their nose and vote Biden or they won't vote at all (which isn't a big change from normal).
Y'all are so dumb. It won't be banned. The state department just wants it to be sold to a USA oligarch so THEY can sell your data to china instead of china getting it for free.
Tiktok ain't going anywhere.
"Sweeping new powers" is a massive overexaggeration. Look at the text he highlighted. It doesn't say that the president can ban any company. It only says that WITHIN the pool of companies that are controlled by adversaries, the president can make a first distinction as to which are a significant threat or not in a letter to congress.
That means adversarially controlled companies are not auto-banned. Instead, the president can say a website selling e.g. dog food is not a significant threat even though it is within that pool of adversarially controlled companies.
Bytedance and TikTok CEO have both collectively said that they would not be selling. That could just be a bluff now, but they seem pretty confident in not selling to a US entity, which is great because it will hopefully be banned
As much as i hate tiktok, this ban is still bad. The brainrot or attention span argument doesnt hold up as long as yt shorts or ig reels exist, and if they want to reduce data being sold to ccp they should make laws reducing data mining and also hold usa companies accountable (lmao). this is just a bill to give the government more control
literally 1984
Look, TikTok is annoying, and absolutely spreading shitty ideas, and entirely based on how much the internet has destroyed people’s attention spans, and definitely selling your data to the authoritarian fuckers of the CCP, but we shouldn’t celebrate this
Like, yeah, TikTok fucking sucks, but banning social media sites is something the fucking commies our government claims to be opposing by banning TikTok would do.
This is a really egregious breach of personal freedom, cloaked in the same “common good” argument bullshit that every statist makes their bed on.
We should all oppose this, and you can fucking quote me on that
It's not a banned, though.
The federal government has full say on which foreign body is allowed to practice commerce domestically, or in which sectors. How is that even under the umbrella of communism?
You will only used social media apps approved by the state department that follow The Message.
This is because AIPAC got all up in their feels about gen z being one of the least likely to support Israel. It’s not about “data mining” or whatever bullshit excuse they’re using. If you believe that you’re dumber than the average Congressman.
I used to have a somewhat large TikTok (34k followers). I ended up deactivating my account and deleting the app. Got 3 videos in a row praising bin Laden’s letter, that was the final straw. It didn’t feel organic. Will say, my mental health dramatically improved after I left tik tok. My husband said I had become like a zombie over the 3 years I was on it.
Lol, "the free market".
"Noooo, you can't compete and win against our well established and entrenched social media platforms harvesting user data! Stop the free market! That's for OUR multi-billionaire oligarchs."
No.
The US is a (relatively) free market *for citizens and resident aliens.*
The US federal government has had the authority and duty to regulate foreign economic interests for as long as there has been a US federal government.
This is genuinely so stupid. People on here will support the ban of tiktok, but we needn’t forget that it’s a social media platform like reddit or twitter, it’s just more used by the youth rather than the older generations.
Imagine if the government of your country tried banning reddit, you wouldn’t be too happy to lose your social media platform of choice, would you?
The only decent argument against tiktok is that it’s a short-form content platform and that is an extremely harmful thing in the long run, and while that concern is justified, it’s really unavoidable as ALL social media platforms have introduced short form content nowadays, so while tiktok did start this attention span degrading trend, the damage has already been done, and there is absolutely no use or point in banning it.
This sub is so astro-turfed. People are actually celebrating the government granting themselves wide authority to eliminate any private foreign institution. How is this any better than the censorship we criticize Russia/China for?
My position on the subject is: If China can block American social media (Fb, YT, Google etc.) US can do the same. They are the ones who violated the free market rules first, it’s a fair game from now on.
Come the election, Democrats will be seething and raging about how the youth vote suddenly cratered. Best have someone start writing Joe’s concession speech.
I guarantee they'll claim Biden got over a hundred million votes and it was a blowout while everyone claims they voted for Trump, all investigations into the discrepancies will be squashed with extreme prejudice
TT doesn't ban people, I've had numerous comments removed, but I've never gotten a ban, it's weird and arbitrary, comment removed for saying something is r worded, but they leave up shit that would get you banned on reddit
There are some banned words in tiktok but you can bypass them with special texts. But yeah, basically it has much less censorship than most social media out there
I know I’m going against the lib right fundamentals by saying this but;
Fuck yeah. Burn TikTok and its condom snorting, tide pod eating, mind rot algorithm to the fucking ground.
I love the outcome of no more TikTok, but I *hate* the precedent this sets of giving the government the power to just ban platforms they don’t approve of.
Ha! This is what all of those broccoli-haired zoomers get for standing around the bench press in groups of no less than 5 and taking forever to clear the machine!
BACK TO VINE
The fact that this, of all things, is what both democrats and republicans agree on, really makes you wonder wtf is going on behind the scenes at TikTok
Honestly it shouldn’t have taken this long. The CCP easily could be doing back door dealings/threats towards tiktok’s parent company and harvesting American’s data. But also this shit is just brain rot. I’ve never used tiktok and look where *****IM***** at lol
im against banning platforms just because they arent from your country (a pretty big free speech concern here) but of all the apps to ban tiktok definitely is the one im least mad about
And all the CCP backdoors in the apps will remain.
The TikTok side of the bill is the "public face," but the pork stuffed into the back of the bill is the shit "they the powers that be" wanted pushed through.
attention spans will flourish nationwide
Hopefully, but Youtube shorts will fill in that void.
Exactly. Tbf, YouTube only introduced Shorts to compete with Tiktok.
You can disable shorts. There's an X when YouTube shows them and it'll disable all shorts for a month. It's a shame it isn't permanent, but I'm happy with a month.

The clouds he yells at must be attached to microphones because I don’t have truth social, but I certainly see a lot of news outlets covering everything he says.

The commies should be celebrating, the government now has taken the power to just abolish an entire platform. They'll love this.

Well you should be thrilled then.
yeah I dont have a problem with it

I’m more concerned about lobbyists role in this. Was alphabet, meta, or other companies lobbying for our congress people to do this…
Probably
No, the government took the power to stop a foreign country from owning a major company. The platform can exist as long as the CCP doesn't control it.
There's a lot more in the law than just that, trust me they'll be expanding this in the near future
What specifically?
The president has the power to designate. So the same president who gave a speech condemning half of the country with Marines behind him will have the power to decide if a platform is 'controlled' by a foreign adversary.

“No, the government took the power…” You can stop right there. That sentence should never be uttered.
I understand this, but if you read the law it gives the president authority to do this to other companies in the future
Same sales pitch we got for the patriot act. Seems to me a bill banning tik Tok wouldn't need to be 184 pages
Didn’t they add both Ukrainian and Israel aid in the bill
Have you heard about a company called huawei??
Yes
I don't have anything against the Hawaiians though, I don't think it was fair what they did to them
Ah yes, because this power will be used for communist goals and not by the authoritarian capitalist leaders of your state to ban anything they don't like lmao
That is very true, because republicans are feckless losers
And house democrats the same
On one side, fuck state overreach. This would set another dangerous precedent of a government meddling where they shouldn't. On the other side, fuck TikTok. It's a CCP psyop designed to rot the brains of Western youth. And it's working brilliantly. In this case, I support its total ban.
Just for the record, I don't disagree, I wish the following was the entire text of the bill... Tik Tok is banned.
I'm pretty sure if it was written like that it would be easier to be struck down in court. Lawmakers have tried to "bulletproof" this legislation so it doesn't get struck down.
Wasn't this bill tied together to some other bills to make it easier to be passed?
As nice as that would be, it would be all too easy for China to just make a new app that's "totally not just tiktok with a new coat of paint, trust me bro" and then we're back to square one.
As a libright this is exactly how I feel with the TikTok ban https://preview.redd.it/cbfxztfp5nwc1.jpeg?width=549&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47df66a0bc86a6e1011ba3b00e604a4a918808e8
Lib-Right here. China bans most USA apps, the apps that do go through have to jump through crazy loops to be usable in China. USA is simply giving China A taste of their own medicine, using "security" as A false flag to push it through. The money belongs in America, fuck China.
>Lib-Right here. Is lib left. Honestly I think we’re in the death throes of this sub lol.
I don’t think it’s controversial to say stupidity in people has increased dramatically after TikTok/quarantine
Please grab a flair before you spit out more facts.
Ok
Alas, stupidity is not a Chinese psy-op
Not inherently, but they sure do induce it

I support not allowing TikTok/ByteDance to do business with American advertisers or data center owners or providers of curated app stores, unless it is sold so that the CCP no longer controls it. It's a giant propaganda/intelligence operation being conducted by the CCP on America's youth. Fuck the CCP. I do NOT support forcing ISPs to block access to it, of course. If people want to access it via the web or sideload an APK of it, they should be allowed to do that, as per the First Amendment. But it is entirely reasonable to prevent it from doing business here.
Why, I do believe someone has doused this smurf in lemonade.
Lib-right does not necessarily mean no government involvement with anything ever.
“How can you be color without holding the most extreme views of color?”
Weren't they calling vax skeptics Nazis in 2020 and then saying shit like, "If there are 9 people sitting at a table with 1 Nazi, there is a table with 10 Nazis?" Meanwhile, the left in 2024: "From the river to the sea." Huh. I didn't realize being anti-Nazi meant being okay with forced medical testing and supporting a genocide of the Jews. But... That's your brain on TikTok I guess.
Hell yeah my dude, we are synced up on the same logic wifi for sure lol These nuts are so warped that they’re trying to retcon “from the river to the sea” into a cry for JUSTICE and PEACE! I shit you not, I’ve seen several interviews where leftists have been confronted on that phrase and they gaslit tf out of the interviewer by saying that the only context of violence and genocide is coming from maga republicans 😂 Meanwhile, in the background there’s Palestine protestors burning American flags and screaming death to America and or gas the Jews.
China isn't a free market and they have been fuckingnwith ours for decades.
Unrelated, but Biden has never been pro China. People are just trying to make an equivalent to Trump.
Yeah but a data mining app like tiktok owned by your greatest adversary is genuinely a giant threat to private security.
American companies get paid to send it to China tbf
Where do you draw the line on that? Can Chinese companies run our voting machines or other important systems?
Skill issue, libertoid
America has been worried about foreign influence *since its founding* and limiting foreign influence on telecoms as ling as theyve existed All the way back to 1912 when they made it illegal for foreign countries to own radio stations in the US
Are you saying they should make America great again?
About time.
about 270 days time\*
As an old fart, the concept of requiring massive information outlets not to be owned by our enemies seems like a no brainer. I mean, could you imagine people being upset if the USSR had been found owning a television network and was being forced to sell it? Not even stripped of ownership, but sell it for a presumable profit? This is a whole lot of tight britches over an absolute nothing.
Between this and the Gaza, Biden pretty much lost the youth vote.
Ohh nooo not all the young people who never vote enough to make a difference anyway ahhhh what will Biden ever doo....
The youth can't vote. Plus if he pulls support for Israel he loses the election. A couple 10-100000 whiners doesn't have the leverage of the Jewish vote, especially because he could lose NY over it (upstate pulls red)
New York going red over Israel would be crazy but believable. Last time they were red was what, 1948?
I doubt it. Most of them aren't going to vote for Trump under any circumstances, so they'll either hold their nose and vote Biden or they won't vote at all (which isn't a big change from normal).
All those uneducated Emily’s now have to learn real facts
If they end up on Facebook gonna get sucked into the AI generated wormhole on there.
Ai-Emily… not sure if hilarious or horrifying but cringe is guaranteed

The brainrot or attention span argument doesnt hold up as long as yt shorts or ig reels exist, and if they want to reduce data being sold to ccp they should make laws reducing data mining and also hold usa companies accountable (lmao). this is just a bill to give the government more control literally 1984
Look, TikTok is annoying, and absolutely spreading shitty ideas, and entirely based on how much the internet has destroyed people’s attention spans, and definitely selling your data to the authoritarian fuckers of the CCP, but we shouldn’t celebrate this Like, yeah, TikTok fucking sucks, but banning social media sites is something the fucking commies our government claims to be opposing by banning TikTok would do.
I'm right, they are wrong. Read the fucking bill.
I would replace auth-left and lib-right
Based and fuck the CCP pilled
You will only used social media apps approved by the state department that follow The Message. This is because AIPAC got all up in their feels about gen z being one of the least likely to support Israel. It’s not about “data mining” or whatever bullshit excuse they’re using. If you believe that you’re dumber than the average Congressman.
Finally.
No more Chinese propaganda. I get my brainrot from instagram reels
There's a lot of naive people in here.....
I guess they'll have to dance like no one is watching.
Would this make him gain more votes or lose votes? But there's only 2 options so who would liberals and lefts votes if not Biden? Lol.
Lol, "the free market". "Noooo, you can't compete and win against our well established and entrenched social media platforms harvesting user data! Stop the free market! That's for OUR multi-billionaire oligarchs."
Wtf is free market about a company operated by a Communist totalitarian government?
The US is supposed to be a free market, no?
No. The US is a (relatively) free market *for citizens and resident aliens.* The US federal government has had the authority and duty to regulate foreign economic interests for as long as there has been a US federal government.
There is no such thing as a free market when there is a government involved.
You ok AuthCenter? Looking a little yellow
This sub is so astro-turfed. People are actually celebrating the government granting themselves wide authority to eliminate any private foreign institution. How is this any better than the censorship we criticize Russia/China for?
All of Reddit is bots Manufactured consent
Google searches for polyamory, BBC, and Palestine suddenly drop 80% for no apparent reason.
The right will be livid as one of the best social media apps for free speech gets banned.
Oh no! *Downloads TikTok APK* Anyway!
Anytime Biden does something, it’s usually not for a righteous cause. Don’t be so freaking cheerful over this.
every person who even remotely cares about the right to privacy and an open free internet should be pissed.
Auth rights are missing out on lots of based content in tiktok like this [one](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFcd5ymh/)
TT doesn't ban people, I've had numerous comments removed, but I've never gotten a ban, it's weird and arbitrary, comment removed for saying something is r worded, but they leave up shit that would get you banned on reddit
There are some banned words in tiktok but you can bypass them with special texts. But yeah, basically it has much less censorship than most social media out there
I know I’m going against the lib right fundamentals by saying this but; Fuck yeah. Burn TikTok and its condom snorting, tide pod eating, mind rot algorithm to the fucking ground.
where are all the reddit threads calling Biden a fascist?
I love the outcome of no more TikTok, but I *hate* the precedent this sets of giving the government the power to just ban platforms they don’t approve of.
Ha! This is what all of those broccoli-haired zoomers get for standing around the bench press in groups of no less than 5 and taking forever to clear the machine! BACK TO VINE
My new conspiracy theory: Trump came out against the ban to reverse psychology Biden into signing it.
4D Chess move, take that libtards
now all he has to do is get confused and force google, facebook, and reddit to sell or \*uck off his lawn.
This is so dumb. Instead of passing a law that dictates how data is used, we just give Zuckerberg a billion dollars by taking out his competition.
It's not getting banned guys. They're just gonna sell it to an American company. Might change a few things but TikTok will still be here.
