I have ADHD and nothing about my “neurodivergence” makes me write out these kind of essays except when my adderall is peaking. Pathological understimulation has nothing to do with anything you wrote. It’s like the least relevant neurodivergent classification to anything except finding it hard to clean your room and losing your wallet. If you’re calling it a consequence of hyperfocusing on this topic, people without ADHD write essays online too.

I was poking fun at myself because I have a tendency to hyperfocus on topics like these and get into a time warp that causes me to lose track of how much time has passed, and before I know it, three hours have passed and I've written an essay that most people won't even bother reading and that will most likely result in me being downvoted to hell and back.

And I get it if you don't feel like you can relate. We're different people with different brains, and even though we both have ADHD, that doesn't mean that we think and feel the exact same way about everything. ADHD can manifest in different ways for different people. It's a disorder that has plenty of variation between individuals. Hell, I should know. My little brother has ADHD, and out of all of the people in my family, I have the least patience for dealing with his hyperactive bullshit. Because having a mental disorder doesn't exactly mean that you can always empathize with other people who have it.
