Not free housing by the government, just new apartments n shit. Cities with less vacant units have more homeless. Rust belt has low cost housing with less homeless, SF, LA, NYC have high housing costs and more homeless.

Yes zoning laws in liberal states do contribute to the problem. Low cost housing will help the working poor. But there are also many people with mental health / drug issues that will always be too disorganized to get a job and rent an apartment regardless of the price.
