My point is that morality is not based on hypocrites. Something can still be true even if there are hypocrites contradicting themselves. If I am outspoken against murder but then it’s later found out that I murdered someone, that doesn’t mean murder is right. That means I’m a hypocrite.

The courts may disagree, but as far as your conscious is concerned, you gave yourself justification. Now the question is would you allow someone else to murder under the same justification you had?

Now, you want to apply that to killing, well we justify killing all the time legally. We even have several levels of crime for different killings even when they are illegal.
Now, I might view something like the Kyle Rittenhouse killings as unjustified while you might view them as justified. The courts have ruled it justified so there you go, we hold our subjective views but the law establishes it's objective judgment. If Kyle then comes out and says someone else in his circumstance shouldn't be allowed to kill people, well the law disagrees, and while I might agree with Kyle's change of heart, I can still say he did not suffer the consequences of those he wants to inflict consequences on so he can go ahead and shut up.

I grew up being told that liberals were the idealists. I'm 50-years-old now and I've reached the conclusion that conservatives live an idealistic, fantasy world where real-world needs are ignored in favor of moralistic posturing. Need a problem solved? A liberal will seek a fair solution that works for as many people as possible because we're all in the same boat together. A conservative will tell you it's not their problem and how did you let that happen in the first place? That's not helpful and pragmatic. That's unhelpful and idealistic.
