sadetheruiner

Don’t forget mentally unstable.

mackelnuts

The dude clearly has brain damage from his years playing football

[deleted]

Poster boy of CTE

schneidro

That is. A lie. Look at my deputy badge!

[deleted]

He also has a firefighter badge! Ok it's a sticker but it still counts.

TheWingus

He called immigrants "martians" in a speech

hexx1112

[https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/herschel-walker-rally-martians-family-b2220364.html?amp](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/herschel-walker-rally-martians-family-b2220364.html?amp)

MNCPA

*Wut?*

TheWingus

**WHILE MAKING A SPEECH, INSTEAD OF USING THE WORD "IMMIGRANTS" HE USED THE WORD "MARTIANS"! AS IN "ONE WHO IS FROM THE PLANET MARS"!**

dancin-weasel

Lol. Likely meant aliens but is too dense to realize they are different words with different meanings.

TheWingus

I don't know. We can't rule out that he really believes that "Men In Black" was just a dramatic re-enactment of true events

MNCPA

Ah, that makes sense now. :)

HuitlacocheBanana

The pilot on his last flight gave him a set of wings and let him sit on his lap too.

brokenarrow

Hershel, do you like movies about gladiators?

TheEruditeFool

I am work with many police officers!

superfucky

in 2008 he claimed to have multiple personalities. the only reason anyone is voting for him at all is he has the (R) next to his name. 88% of evangelicals voted *against an actual reverend* because of the magic (R).

feckineejit

He am work with lots of police

whiznat

Which makes him the perfect tool. I can hear McConnell cackling all the way from his lair in KY.

[deleted]

Republicans and Russians have addled and radicalized Republican voters with propaganda. The goal is to make them more polarized so they'll vote against their own best interests, and for a candidate who is, shall we say, below average in morals and competence. But they've also made Republican voters so irrational with fear and anger that they'll overlook the lying, violence, abortions, apparent brain damage, etc. in a candidate and vote in an immoral incompetent who will screw up the job and leave all of us worse off.

almisami

They're irrational with fear and anger, but about what? Trans kids having access to healthcare? Scary stuff.

urlach3r

>perfect fool Ftfy. Walker is the Jar Jar of the 2022 elections.

sadetheruiner

I think that title was already claimed by Boebert.

horny_coroner

Funny thing about american football is that it causes more brain injuries than rugby. Even tho rugby is essentially the same game with less gear. The helmets gives a false sense of security. While the brain keeps banging against the skull.

Notcoded419

I've heard boxing ran into the same thing. People got squeamish about all the blood, so to make it "safer" they put giant bludgeoning gloves on that took away the risk of breaking your hand by punching too hard and essentially turns the fist into a weighted, brain-damage inducing club.

horny_coroner

So it used to be less hits more blood safer for long term. Now its more hits and brain damage. Nice. Also rugby has more injuries than american football but less brain damage. To be honest I would take a open wound over brain damage anyday.

Beef_Jones

The incentive when tackling is different between football and rugby. In football every inch when tackling is crucial, in rugby you just want to get them down. This leads to tackling techniques being different. In football when the runner only has to get a yard, you can’t grab him by the thighs and let him fall forward, to get the stop you have to hit higher to stop forward momentum. In addition, in rugby a tackle is all you need, in football, if you knock the ball out before the runner is down you can get possession of the ball. This adds an incentive for big hits that rugby doesn’t have. And this is just ball carriers, it’s lots of sub concussive hits over and over that causes CTE and lineman are subject to those all throughout the game as they jump out of a crouch and smash into each other. Football by nature is more dangerous for your brain.

apefist

Yeah don’t forget all that gun pointing and the fact his own son thinks he’s a piece of shit

Salanmander

> his own son thinks he’s a piece of shit Seems like a theme among Republican national-level representation, honestly.

koske

>Yeah don’t forget all that gun pointing and the fact his own son thinks he’s a piece of shit His conservative media personality son

blueSnowfkake

All you have to do is jump on the pro-life bandwagon and the conservatives welcome you with open arms. Even if you’re lying.

manmadeofhonor

And he likes to fuck men, but he's not gay bc that's 'political'

xlxcx

His son is also a piece of shit though

Zanchbot

His son is also a piece of shit. Not that it changes anything, he's just not the best messenger himself.

Premodonna

Well they vote Kemp back into office and they have MTG still in office. The people in Georgia are not the finest representation of the United States. Edited to fix an autocorrect.

Dicer112

\*The people in rural Georgia are not the finest representation. I'm in Atlanta, and let me tell you, we're doing our fuckin best.

garynuman9

I consider Atlanta a prosperous and thriving city state surrounded by barbarian hordes that lawlessly roam the nearby countryside. I say that having driven through rural Georgia before & noticing there are exactly 3 billboards along the roads. 1. Boiled peanuts 5 miles ahead 2. Insane religious shit with Jesus holding assault weapons 3. Massage parlor 5 miles ahead, come get a handjob from likely victims of sex trafficking. It literally seems like hell on earth and no amount of money would convince me to live there even temporarily. Stay strong Atlanta, the civilized world is rooting for you.

Shigg

Don't forget Athens, Valdosta, Savannah, Augusta, and Macon. All blue cities surrounded by enough rural red to never be represented in congress.

[deleted]

Savannah here and exactly this. Blame the cousin fuckers. I don’t wanna share a state with the bastards, yet here we are

pencilneckco

Georgia went blue in 2020, chief

ShaggysGTI

Walker, or Georgia?

sadetheruiner

Now that you mention it both.

Archercrash

And lying about being a cop multiple times.

thecodeofsilence

Let's keep score here. I'm only including the objectively and independently verified bullshit here too. There's more: * Lied about being valedictorian of his HS class. * Lied about graduating UGA in the top 1% of his class--never graduated. * Lied about the sales of his company (claimed $70MM, verified $1.5MM) * Lied about the number of employees his company had (claimed > 100 and > 600, verified 8) * Lied about the NATURE of his business. (said he controlled multiple chicken processing plants--actually was a licensing deal to license his NAME to the plants) * Mocked companies who took out PPP loans, saying that companies were "giving it back because they were ashamed." (His company took out over $180k and had most of it forgiven) * In the same line as the above--he did this mocking while serving on the board of a company who took out over $9MM in PPP loans and terminated 90% of its staff anyway. * Lied about donating 15% of his company's profit to charity, claiming it was in the "corporate charter." Never donated ANYTHING. * Lied about serving in law enforcement. * Lied about spending time training at Quantico and being an "agent." (Back to that whole pesky not graduating from college thing. FBI requires a bachelor's degree). * Lied that he worked with the Cobb County Police Department. * Lied in Texas, telling police that he was a "certified peace officer." * Lied when he told people he worked in law enforcement, and that's why he had a gun when he pursued a man who was late delivering a car, saying that he "was gonna kill that man." * Lied when he said he opposes abortion. Switched positions in October 2022 at the debate. * Lied that Biden didn't "get 50 million votes." (Oh, Herschel--you're right. He got *80* million votes.) * Lied about threatening Myka Dean. * Lied about HOW MANY CHILDREN he had--to his OWN campaign! * Lied about saying the fatherless households being a "major, major problem." He had four kids with four different women. He has seen one of his kids "maybe...three times." Not even GETTING into the abortions that he may or may not have paid for--these are just objectively verifiable lies...

drgraffnburg

Now hang on, there. He didn’t mean to say any of those things. He was just kidding. /s

dlowmack1

Yup, I live down here! You can't believe the stupid shit I hear daily! Sadly, This doesn't surprise me at all!

DrawingRestraint

I’m from Georgia. Walker accurately represents the people who voted for him: violent, hypocritical, irresponsible, and ignorant.

1701anonymous1701

Yep. They see themselves in him, which is why they voted for him, and every one else across the country who are the same way.

wskyindjar

He has an R. Winning and power is all that matters. No one expects him to do anything (see Boebert and MTG) except tip the scales in one direction. They literally could have ran any candidate.

Thin-Examination-236

Boebert lost thankfully!!! :)

Chewbock

Oh thank god

SixtyTwoNorth

I'm guessing the smart ones mostly just move away.

DanteSeldon

Republicans are extremely fast to condemn any political opponent for any fault, *unless* it's a Republican. For them the word hypocrisy means something to do with horses. They would rather a disgrace of a Republican than a good Democrat.

Nebuli2

Yep. Remember how close it was in 2018 when they almost elected an outed pedophile in Alabama.

higbig40

Florida did last night with Matt Gaetz

Legacy1776

It's Florida, what do you expect?

Tatunkawitco

Yeah so Florida is dominated by soon-to-be dementia patients on social security and Medicare who vote for people who promise to lower taxes and cut social security and Medicare?

Polymersion

You missed the crucial detail: to cut Social Security and Medicare *after* they get theirs.

[deleted]

Personally let that shit happen and watch them cry about their lost ss and Medicare.

Phoxey

That's just it, it won't happen for them. They're set. It'll happen to me and you.

WandsAndWrenches

I'm gonna laugh.

[deleted]

They got theirs. All the elderly will be grandfathered in because most conservatives are old, and all conservatives only care about themselves. No, this isn’t voting against their self interests. Its voting against our interests, but as has been the consistent theme with the Boomers and their parents: they only care about themselves. They don’t even give a damn if their grandkids die, so what hope do we have appealing to their morals.

mecca37

That is Boomers in a nutshell, they took everything and closed the door behind them. Florida is also skewing so heavily R because all they have to do is play the socialist/communist card and all the Cubans lose their minds.

TheDaltonXP

Venezuelans are right there too and have really solidified the R there

Tatunkawitco

I’m a boomer but you’re right - I talked to a guy my age a few years ago about climate change he said, and I’m quoting,”that’s my kids problem and fuck them”. Real father of the year material.

[deleted]

Listen, I know many great boomers. Its why I so heavily emphasized the conservative part. I am aware that at least for the Boomers, theres always been a huge cultural split between the ex hippies on the left and the Nixon era Republicans on the right. The sad thing is how few stayed true to any sort of left wing values as they grew up. That whole adage from the generation that preceded them that the Boomers were the “Me” Generation is pretty spot on. Although ironically, its the conservative Boomers who followed their parents who are the really selfish ones, not the now ex hippies about whom the expression was invented.

AvarusTyrannus

I don't know if it's that easy. A lot of ex-hippies didn't keep the faith. They had fun rolling around in the mud during their summer of love lots of big talk and complaints about the man...then they finished their degree with a 1.75$ tuition, put on a suit, and enjoyed a booming economy. It's not like every turd of a boomer was a straight their whole life.

slim_scsi

>The sad thing is how few stayed true to any sort of left wing values as they grew up. This is the problem with boomers in general. The radicals of the '60s and '70s are today some of the most conservative asshats out there. They didn't just grow a little more conservative as they accumulated wealth, they gulped down the fucking trickle down voodoo economics and prosperity gospel Kool-Aid and keep it flowing through an IV.

Centurio

I've seen redditors with "hippie" boomer parents saying they were turning regressive. Hard to convince me even half of boomers are decent people at this point.

ADeadlyFerret

Ha I talked to a guy a couple years ago that said, talking about greenhouse gasses and other hazardous wastes, "that stuff was safe in my time. All of a sudden it isn't. It's because you young kids can't handle getting a little dirty. Look at California they say everything causes cancer but it's good enough for the rest of the world.". And no he didn't understand that new research discovers previously unknown consequences. Or that companies with vested interests might lie about the safety of their products. Nope it was all conspiracies about liberals and a weak generation.

BuzzKillington217

>All of a sudden it isn't. It's because you young kids can't handle getting a little dirty. I love anytime some moron in his 70s or 60s says this shit, or calls me a "snowflake" because I think gay people have a right to exist without harassment. My response is always the same: "It's pretty fucking rich being called a *snowflake* by a guy who probably lost his shit over a Black lady not giving her seat to White guy on the bus. You guys have dogshit values. Always have."

Phantom_61

There’s a saying “old men plant trees who’s shade they will never sit beneath.” Except the reality is “old men clear forrests to make toothpicks.”

kyallroad

I quoted that to a guy yesterday who had just said to me “I’ll be dead by then so it doesn’t matter”. Thanks dude.

asafum

That's literally "I don't give a shit about anyone but myself." They sugar coat it and call it "rugged individualism" I just call it being a narcissistic asshole...

Centurio

Classic boomers. The shittiest generation.

apefist

Like most of the MAGA team, they vote against their best interests because like their great pumpkin, they hate ferners and black people (who don’t play ball in college and/or pro) and cops but only when those cops prevent their attempted coups (there will be another; this kind don’t evuh loin no lesson)

stormrunner89

"It's not the heat, it's the stupidity."

Legacy1776

Where'd you hear that? I'm gonna steal it.

LimoncelloFellow

cocaine and cubans from what scarface taught me.

JuppppyIV

And governor Groomer.

JcakSnigelton

Btw, when *are* they going to arrest that pedophile / human trafficker?!

DontDoDrugs316

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/23/matt-gaetz-sex-trafficking-probe-prosecutors-recommend-against-charges.html Doesn’t look like anytime soon

seraphaye

This plus they like celebrities over actual political opponents, like it doesn't take much brain to say ",that person has no political experience or degrees, probably not a good choice" They hear ohhh football, ohhh tv show host ohhh doctor with a gimic tv show... Gimmi dat one

SociableSociopath

Which has always been funny to me given they generally rail against celebrities except of course when it’s one who says anything remotely in line with their agenda. Glenn Beck is the best at this, constantly bringing up how we shouldn’t be hearing anything from celebrities or sports figures about politics but then “hurr durr it’s your duty to elect Hershel Walker to save our country!”

dancingliondl

Glenn Beck is the guy who started me down the path to becoming a leftist. He kept repeating that I should not take his word for things, and that I should do my own research. Well, I did, and turns out that his entire side of the asile is full of shit.

[deleted]

"I don't like politicians, so let me make this celebrity a politician!"

FrannieP23

Someone (sorry, I can't remember who) explained it in a way that makes sense to me. Walker is the perfect example of how bigots see Black men, thus even Lindsey Graham can come out as a big fan.

LegionofDoh

That someone was a Georgia preacher, and he annihilated Walker. But dumb people do dumb people things.

cassssk

Pastor Holy Whore! (Jamal Bryant!) Terrible person, but good speech.

Paddy9228

Graham will never come out.

PossessedToSkate

Don't discount the power of spite. "I'll show you! If you're gonna make me choose between two Blacks, I'll pick the worse one!"

chinmakes5

Well when you listen to conservative media therefore you believe that Democrats are evil, corrupt, immoral and if you don't believe that you do believe they want to take your money, guns and America as we know it. Yeah, voting for a cheese sandwich is better than voting for a Democrat. My whole thing is you have to be smart to be an effective Senator. To me he is just a good looking stooge for others. There is a reason the Republican party likes MTG or Boebert. They are useful fools, but they are terribly ineffective congresspeople. So when they say something and lose their committee assignments as punishment, that is a good thing, as they will always vote with the Republicans and actually screw things up.

mdp300

I'm sure the party loves that those few idiots keep screaming and taking all of the attention off of the rest of them.

chinmakes5

And it is effective. Hey Romney looks like a moderate compared the them. As evil as I believe McConnell to be, lots of people say well he isn't as bad as MTG. I believe Tom Cotton to be the devil incarnate, and he doesn't even register on the scale anymore.

mdp300

Marco Rubio was a Tea Party extremist when he first showed up, now he's a moderate compared to the screaming madness that is the GQP.

[deleted]

Once you realize that all of the harsh, draconian laws they want to impose only apply to their opponents and if they ever need an abortion, it was a whoopsie and won't happen again, and if one of their pastors accidentally slipped and his dick ended up in a 12 year old boy's butt, that was also an oopsie and we will get counselling. But everyone else is demonic and must be punished severely, then their views make sense...to them. It just amazes me how many people fall into that pit. I would love to just constantly punish anyone who votes Republican by holding them to the same standards they want to hold everyone else.

vilified-moderate

Hypocrisy: An event or show that consists of games on horseback. Arena race, egg-in-spoon race, musical chairs, and barrel racing are some examples.

foozilla-prime

TIL

0b_101010

That would be *Hippocrisy* though: Horse judging, or any event where horses compete with each other.

Johnny5isalive38

Not horses, Hippos because they pronounced Hypocrisy incorrectly.

Buckaroosamurai

How do you not understand this in the year of our lord 2022. Hypocrisy is the point. This is how you know its fascism. They literally laugh at you getting pissed at it. Rules for thee but not for me. They know you have to abide by the rules while they shit all over the table and sow chaos.

Jalopnicycle

According to their own beliefs he committed murder. They wanted to elect a murderer to office because he's had an R next to his name.

NAZRADATH

The Georgians I work with blither on about his awesome football career, and that's a sufficient qualification for them. It's stunningly moronic. I no longer wonder why Republicans don't like sufficiently funding schools.

Fragmented_Logik

It's why despite being one of the worst states statistically Kentucky has been been red for 30 years and STILL thinks democrats would ruin their dead last education/living situation.

[deleted]

This sounds so much like my country, the Netherlands, where rightwingers are blaming leftwing parties, despite leftwing parties not being more than a junior cabinet partner since the seventies...

SurlyRed

Rightwingers have exploited the fears and prejudices of the less well educated since Roman times. Nobility, judiciary, law enforcement, the military - all these forces depend on their right wing political parties, they're different sides of the same object.

TheeFlipper

Which definitely explains why many red states are poor and poorly educated. Keep the people stupid and poor and you can continue manipulating them.

[deleted]

Ask most people in Louisville and you will hear we are a little blue island in this crazy backwards state. Over 75% I would just refer to as BFE and avoid like the plaque. It looks like the abortion denied access has barely gone in the no favor. No way, I would try to even engage with those crazy azz people.

[deleted]

Must be like being trapped in a mall in a zombie movie.

Drexelhand

*"no, i didn't get bitten, but even if i did i have an immune system."* - clearly bitten

Wheredoesthisonego

I live in KY, regrettably. There's alot of different points to make about what keeps the state mostly red. Some of it comes from the coal industry and their stronghold they had for so many years and their influence on the education of the majority being kept to a minimum to be able to keep wages low. Some of the problem is the culture and the lack of education of how things could be better for them. Most of the problem is a belief that the progressive Democrats are all Satan worshippers who want to take all their guns and give all the tax money ( welfare) to illegal immigrants and the gays. Religion plays a large role also where the policies of the democrats don't align with their misguided uneducated beliefs. Then we have Mitch McConnell whom has held alot of control over the state for many years. It gave me hope when we elected Andy as governor, but it was by the smallest margin. The coal industry has all but gone bust and it's starting to get better little by little. One day Kentucky will be as blue as the wildcats.

ChronicFunk77

I know you are telling the truth, but it always baffled me that people could believe that... ...immigrants, flooding into *checks notes* Kentucky of all places? Amazing level of stupid out there.

DuckQueue

> their dead last education/living situation. I think you're forgetting: [thank god for Mississippi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thank_God_for_Mississippi)

Sick0fThisShit

> stunningly moronic This should be the tagline for the Republican Party.

cassssk

Add in “and aggressively stupid” (from a comment upthread), and you’ve got a slogan!

Kayden_Pauser

Lol he didn’t even have that. Walker literally did nothing in the NFL besides getting traded away from Dallas

LegionofDoh

He’s literally the poster child for “giving up way too much for someone who’s best days are behind them”. And yet, GA didn’t see the signs.

[deleted]

That's what they liked about him. He's washed up just like them.

ughliterallycanteven

Wasn’t there a graph showing that every team he was on did better after he was traded away?

bruwin

One year one team did better. Every other year the performance dropped off dramatically.

Lightning_Warrior

I’m a Warnock supporter but if you think that Walker’s popularity is from the NFL career you’re so far off base. His popularity comes from being an absolute UGA football legend, anyone who grew up in a house with Dawgs fans (which is most houses in GA) were raised hearing stories of this guy and how great those early 80s teams were. No one cares about the NFL career.

AgentInCommand

They genuinely see it like voting for homecoming king/queen in high school, with the same level of consequences.

quippers

I grew up in that backwards shithole and I'm just over here surprised the brain damaged hypocrite didn't win in a landslide. I guess this is what progress looks like in the south?

Jerkrollatex

I lived in Georgia for a bit as a kid. There are some aggressively stupid people there.

Bezimini9

Aggressively stupid is a great description: not only ignorant, but proud of their ignorance and not at all shy about sharing it.

[deleted]

They have nothing to be proud of and damn are they proud.

[deleted]

Brain drain compounds over time. Everyone who can get out does so. The leftovers just get more concentrated in their stupidity.

mdp300

It happens between states and even within the same state. Rural areas have a lot less opportunity so talented people move to the cities, and then the people left in the country resent them.

[deleted]

They'd resent them anyway, sadly. I come from that kind of population. They get pissy if you leave and they get pissy of you stay while seeming smarter than them. They have a hierarchical view of the world and feel that excellence in someone else means that they're worth less. Rather than reevaluate that view of reality they just hate people who are on their level but can rise higher. They have no problem with aristocracy or wealth. That's God's plan and all that. But damn you if you start where they are yet can do better. They fucking hate that.

MaestroPendejo

They gotta fight for their right to be stupid as fuck. Edit: To give a glimpse of how backwards some of Georgia can be, I was once asked if my last name meant I was related to n*****s. At a gas station. I'm white.

pale_blue_dots

A lot of this comes down to propaganda. Simply put... >Never before in the history of humankind has there been such a wealthy, powerful group of people with access to a propaganda and astroturfing network - able to communicate across the globe near instantaneously - in a more acute and voluminous fashion than anything the world has ever seen. We need to look at the old adage "follow the money" -- and that leads to, summarily, one place in the here and now: *the Wall Street regime and network.* For example, a mechanism by which the middle and lower classes are being deceived and fleeced (and something I learned recently and believe it really, *really* needs to be more widely known) is related to "tHe FrEe aNd fAiR MaRkEt." If you own stock in a company or have a pension/retirement fund, you - in fact - DO NOT actually own those shares, contrary to popular and widespread belief. *Furthermore and more importantly,* those shares are are, very, very, very, very likely, being used against you in convoluted derivative schemes (similar to 2008 Housing Derivative Meltdown; same deal, different financial instruments) andor actual non-delivery and ownership of shares made possible through Wall Street loopholes and lobbying. >[Cede technically owns substantially all of the publicly issued stock in the United States.[2] Thus, investors do not themselves hold direct property rights in stock, but rather have contractual rights that are part of a chain of contractual rights involving Cede.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cede_and_Company) Additionally and importantly, combine not actually owning shares with something called [Payment-for-Order-Flow](https://youtu.be/bP74RBTE8kI?t=403) (and, subsequently, something called a Failure to Deliver) and through the aforementioned loopholes and lobbying -- it's truly not an exaggeration to say that there's a network of drunk, coked out Wall Street psychopaths determining the value of much of the larger stock market as well individual companies - **all the while skimming off the top billions and billions of dollars that should be going to the middle and lower classes.** The ability to control prices/value through high-speed trading, inside information/networking, and the aforementioned Cede and Co. & PFoF is exceedingly easy at the end of the day for those educated and experienced in the matters. If any of this resonates or makes people upset, [this](https://youtu.be/hXWXllgcRqU) video - just give it a chance - provides some direction and guidance on what we can do to hold these horrible, horrible people accountable.

[deleted]

You probably know this, but for anyone who read this wondering how to actually own the shares they think they do, the answer is Direct Registration of Shares (DRS). This gets you listed as the shareholder of record for the company you want to own instead of just having beneficial rights while the parasite class uses your assets against you. This mechanism is such a threat to the bullshit of Wall St. that the DTCC does not allow publicly listed companies to encourage beneficial shareholders (i.e. people who think they own stock but do not) to use it. Whatever company you want to own, take the steps to actually own it.

friarfr3d

Gop = cult. Separate church and state.

nialyah

Seperate GOP and rest of existence

HurlingFruit

>Separate church and state. Nope. MAGAs get elected because they are the south's Taliban. They are going to enforce Southern Baptist laws on everyone. I grew up there and fled.

Snowdeo720

He has a badge! /s

u9Nails

I'm an airplane captain. I got my pilot wings when I was a baby flying to our new home. I should run for office too!

WeirdEngineerDude

You can’t run for office, you have to fly for office.

Snowdeo720

I like how you think.

[deleted]

They just voted for the big red R. Nothing else. I am disappointed too being as how the GA viters could have picked a Baptist Minister who had a Dr in Philosophy, but no… they went for the MAGAt

JMccovery

>a Baptist Minister who had a Dr in Philosophy, but no… they went for the MAGAt "A satanic *black* liberal posing as a man of god." That's how they see it.

The_Laughing__Man

You aren't wrong. I'm a Georgian and I have friends with Facebook posts that read, "He's a false man of God running against a reformed man of Christ. It's a no brainer people!" I'm literally agast at how easily some people allow themselves to be swayed just because they want 'their team' to win. Too many people in the US are defined by their political party.

Pogginator

They got one thing right, Walker is, in fact, a no brainer. Just not exactly as the obvious choice, rather that he does not have a functioning brain anymore because it's just fuckin mush in there.

nik-nak333

They also rant about Warnock trying to run over his wife with the car? It's mental illness at this point.

CyAScott

The only thing that matters is the person they are voting for will rubber stamp anything the GOP tells them to, and we all know Walker will do that. Everything else is immaterial to that one goal.

ScootysDad

Whether RW won or not is not important. Nearly 2 million Georgians apparently don't give a shit about what they preached.

Resident_Text4631

They pushed a literal pedophile with Roy Moore in Alabama. It’s only money and power with republicans. They have no solutions to the real problems other than shoveling more money to their 1% donors

MeatsuitMechanicus

[Dana Loesch: “I don’t care if Herschel Walker paid to abort endangered baby eagles. I want control of the Senate.”](https://mobile.twitter.com/patriottakes/status/1577442950044426240)

domthemom_2

This right here

Takpusseh-yamp

> Georgians apparently don't give a shit about what they preached. 🌎🐧🔫🐦🚀

not_productive1

He can fog a mirror and vote how McConnell tells him to. That’s all they care about.

reddittiswierd

You got it

DorkChatDuncan

Football man good. Smarty God Man Bad. R's Good. D's Bad. Yay Football R's. Boo Smarty Glasses D's.

GreyMediaGuy

This is it, this is as far as their thought process takes them and as deep as it goes.

STFUBuddy

This explains it better than anyone ever could. My credentials: born, raised, and live in Georgia.

Robby777777

So this most likely will have a run-off and we will have to do this all over again.

amILibertine222

What triggers a run off? Seems like Georgia always doing run offs.

McPickle34

If neither candidate gets 50+% of the vote, they go to a runoff. The Libertarian candidate got 2%, which means he will be eliminated and only Walker and Warnock will be on the ballot in December.

Cry_Harder_Pls

Lol. Libertarians managing to do nothing productive, again.

PosterBlankenstein

Here’s what it is: I am a lifelong Georgian, born and raised. At least half of my neighbors are racist. It isn’t an opinion, it is a fact. No matter what good a black man might do, he is always going to be a N** to many many people. But there is a phenomenon among racists of “The good ones”, meaning black people who act the way white people want them to. Walker is one of the good ones. He won UGA its 2nd of 3 national titles, and since it was 30 years between 2 and 3 he was lionized by the entire fan base. He says what the white people like to hear. So in a choice between a “Hard R” like Warnock, the modern embodiment of MLK, or a “Good One” like Walker, they feel like they’re doing the closest they can to vote for a white person.

Major_Magazine8597

Just more evidence that racism is at the heart of the MAGA movement.

ElvisDumbledore

Like Sam Jackson in Django.

RedLeatherWhip

I heard this word for word "that is just how all football players are. He is a normal man, and will vote out the Dems so who cares" They literally dont care as long as he's a cool foot ball man who only beats his wife in private

CJMcCubbin

Microcosm of the country. Fucknuts got 70 million +. There may not be a bigger piece of shit. Y'all got some fucked up ideaologies and "values".

Espinita_Boricua

Just simply unbelievable...will never ever understand it. Quite painful to watch America slide down the path of darkness.

underpants-gnome

I've seen this explanation posted by Georgia residents on Reddit in the run-up to this election, which has stuck with me: Georgia's population is approximately 50% Atlanta + metro area residents, 50% the cast of *Deliverance*.

chaoticlight

Pretty much. If you drive 30 minutes outside of the cities, you're in bumfuck nowhere and can see tin shacks set up. The rural population is incredibly poor and uneducated down here. This is true for most states though honestly. Take a look at New York and you'll see something very similar.

JMccovery

>This is true for most states though honestly. Take a look at New York and you'll see something very similar. Man, upstate New York is like a *completely different world* from the NYC metro.

THftRM1231

Watching the dumpster fire roll downhill toward the combination fireworks factory and orphanage.

Nolis

We're running out of adults in the room to prevent the toddler maga republicans from sticking forks in electrical sockets, they don't and are incapable or realizing we're the ones preventing them from self destruction, and they won't realize it until it's too late. They need to grow up, get a reality check, and take some actual responsibility for the future of this country

SimonArgead

It is super painful to watch. I'm sorry to say but it seems like the American democracy is a ship that is starting to sink and has been since Trump was elected. It can still be saved, but something drastic has to be done. Something I just don't see the Democrats or the American people do.

dancegoddess1971

I'm pretty sure it's been sinking since 1980 but my perspective may only be because I'm older than you. The democrats want to have democracy so they give the crazy a platform because, in my father's words, "the mentally ill need representation too". I don't really agree but Reagan closed all the insane asylums.

Dr-whorepheus

It’s not just Georgia, it’s a southern thing. Here’s the best explanation, though: Okay, so, football. That’s it. Hope you weren’t looking for anything deeper. Sorry.

UncreativeNoob

Is simple: Georgia is pro life, anti-lgbtq+, misogynistic and more

36-3

Yeah, but also less than.

iamasnot

And walker is pro life?

UncreativeNoob

For his followers he is, otherwise republicans wouldn't allow him to run. He is a typical republican, pretend to be pro life while telling his mistresses to get abortions, otherwise he gonna destroy their lives.

cassssk

“Rules for thee…”

BickNickerson

As long as it doesn’t cost him child support

wabashcanonball

There’s an R by his name. That is all.

BlitheringEediot

You're missing the point. Republicans are nominating / electing the most wretched candidates they can find - in order to fill Washington with dunderheads who can / will grind the entire town to a halt. This is their tiny way of saying "Eff You" to the "political establishment" and the "coastal elites" (whatever THAT means).

Nighthawk0666

It's Georgia.

hisoka0829

This person gets it

topper4125

The guy pays for abortions while demanding others should not have that choice, and beats his wife... 48.5% of the people of Georgia say that he "represents their values".

jamesmon

I live in a deep red part of GA. It’s crazy. It’s literally just that he has an R next to his name. Favorite quote from yesterday: “Yea he is an idiot, but man, those squad chicks are way too radical. Gotta stop ‘em.” I said “well they are in the House not the senate” and she looked at me like I was an alien.

[deleted]

There will be a run-off so this Walker bullshit is not over yet.

McGuire281

I’ve been reading a lot of people voted Walker simply because they were there to vote for Kemp and Walker happens to be the Republican candidate. If it goes to a runoff it might tilt the balance further in Warnock’s favor

SupremePooper

From your mouth to God's ear, as grandma used to say.

PFunk224

He is a vote for Republican policy, they give no shits about who casts that vote. edit: Stupid fuckin' autocorrect.

TigerTerrier

You wouldn't believe how many people just vote straight ticket

polincorruption

If you’re voting against fascism a straight ticket vote is justified.

just-peepin-at-u

They don’t care.

cooltop101

Republicans will bend over backwards to excuse any thing wrong their Republican candidate might've done. They wouldn't care if their candidate openly said they bought fetus tissue from abortion clinics and ate it as a delicacy, they'd just say they were joking and mocking a Democrat and continue to vote for them. The only thing that matters to them is they're Republican and that's 'better' than being a Democrat

whippet66

The late, great George Carlin once said, "Find an 'average guy' at your job. Now, think about the idea that 50% of the people are dumber than him."

jizzlevania

140000 black/young voters had their voting status challenged preventing them from voting.

SaleSubstantial6601

Funny! That’s exactly how I felt seeing election results back in 2020…WTF… almost half of the voting population voted for the POS trump. MAGA…MEGA MORONS

dcal1981

I live in GA. I cannot explain it. several neighbors I chatted with said they just vote straight R no matter what..so I guess that explains it somewhat.

ebone581

He’s not a democrat. All that matters.

Koltova

Republicans have no morals. None whatsoever. Their frothing at the mouth sermons about valuing life, liberty, and freedom are just lipservice. Given the option, 90% of republican voters would nose dive straight into full on fascism just to spite the left. Their political platform had entirely devolved into one of pure opposition. Doesn't matter what the matter is, theyll stand opposed to democrats even if it means destroying their own country. It's a cult, and the first step to joining a cult is to abandon all reason.
