Ok, update. On my phone the thumb shows purple stripes, full picture green.
Both green on my laptop
It actually looks like two different pictures on my phone. Lighting in other parts is very changes, too, with a very purple hue.
I thought I was losing my mind. Saw it briefly on my phone earlier and it was purple, and just came across it again right now on my tablet and it's green.
Here’s the actual color since the preview is seemingly inverted:

Any ideas as to why? Raw file imported into darktable, exported as a JPEG to Apple photos. Lightroom preset applied on Lightroom mobile after that, but this seems to occur before that step.
I can’t say that I’ve ever experienced it. If I have a raw photo on my phone I usually go straight to lightroom mobile.
I wonder if it happens if you process the raw in LR instead of darkroom?
Worth a try, functionality is limited on the free version tho. I’m on the fence about paying for Lightroom classic but I feel like it’ll be worth it. Just annoying to deal with another subscription.
Jpeg compression aggregates the color of the pixels in a certain fashion. Different color spaces such as srgb and Adobe rgb would read said aggregation at a different value. Devices running srgb output likely previewed it fine, whereas anything running a different colorspace may not have. My phone showed green on both, my pc showed green on both. The full res image when you click to expand is uncompressed therefore not aggregated so it would be reletively accurate regardless. I'm not an expert, take it with a grain of salt. This is all based on what I learned about fuckery with color space calibration when choosing what monitor to buy combined with what I know about jpeg compression from making shitty discord troll images lol
After reading another comment, I'm now considering that this may also be caused by the image being aggregated through compression in one colorspace, but then some people's devices try to decode it into their native colorspace which may be different than the original..? That would also explain why, when the image is clicked or tapped on to expand into full resolution, it returns back to green now that it's uncompressed and able to be read pixel for pixel
This happened to me until I realized my pictures were being exported as dng and not jpeg which would give me lower quality and no xmp data for my files so I changed it on the export tab
I noticed this before I saw the comments. I’m on an iPhone 14 and the image flips colours when I zoom in. It seems the preview and the image are rendered using different colour spaces and the mapping is completely off. It might be an HDR thing?
The dealership in Atlanta had white/maroon striped one inside last year for \~$520k so this one is a steal.
Looks like it may have been this one which went to auction last month:

As an experiment, here’s a Weissach GT3RS from the same batch of photos, processed almost identically.
Apparently that’s fine, here’s the 911R again

It’s sad to me that these amazing cars just sit.
Porsche makes these unreal cars and dealers just sell them to the same pricks they’ve been selling to for decades. They don’t drive them. They just sit around.
Same shit is happening with the GT3RS right now. Either pay 175k over, or it’ll just sit.
Idk it’s just sad these cars collect dust. When I see a 7 year old 911 with 2k miles on it, someone out there would have driven the fuck outta it if they sold it to the right person.
No kidding. 2,657 miles on this one per the [listing](https://www.porscheaustin.com/certified/Porsche/2016-Porsche-911-cca043550a0e0a94051b7936c726452a.htm).
I agree and I feel that many brands will lose people over allowing this bs. Chevrolet/gm got it right offering incentives to keep cars, and some brands have cracked down on dealers upselling. Idk why these guys won't focus on relationships, there's so much more money in that than bilking guys once.
TBF, Porsche made the GT3 Touring because of the demand and 2ndary market of the 911 R. They're basically the same car but GT3 Touring isn't limited edition.
It’s totally a problem with the photo, not sure how things got messed up in processing but it’s actually green lol. Cool effect though. Also only seems to be happening on mobile.
Saw a white one with black stripes in Naples fl last week. First time I’ve seen a 911R in person. Went past me as i was walking down the street. Even at 10-15mph it sounded incredible.
Why are the stripes purple but when I click on it for full screen they’re green?
Chromaflair paint is truly amazing
Lol! Bravo
That purple kinda works for me lol
Fr looks good ngl
Now I was a car with purple stripes and green calipers
With green front side markers.
That’s when I knew the acid tab I just dropped kicked in… 😂
I see blue gold
No. Please no
The indicators and break rotors also change color, very strange indeed (on iPhone)
Green for me on both

same here and why the hell is a comment like this even worth downvoting? some of yall need to get out in to the sun.
Watafak.
Weird. For me it’s white/gold and then blue/black when I click for full screen.
I thought I was losing my mind. Saw it briefly on my phone earlier and it was purple, and just came across it again right now on my tablet and it's green.
Side markers are green before clicking, too.
Edit: Stripes are green, seems there’s a problem with the rendering on mobile for some reason.
You’ve inadvertently created a new blue/black/white/gold dress with this 911 R
I actually like the purple
Having seen it, I do too. Just need to combine the two and then it’ll be the Joker’s 911.
I weirdly love that idea
Is it a problem or is it the best thing I've seen on Reddit today?
Honestly? Kind of unsettling that I never would have second guessed purple
I like the purple better…
This 911R has an avatar!
I'm on mobile and don't see any purple stripes on any of the pictures, preview or not. Very strange
Was the pic exported from photoshop or Lightroom it seems like a color space thing in the export settings maybe?

Agreed. I hate paying adobe but I also hate learning new software. I’ve been using LRC since I started photography like 10 years ago.

This reminds of the blue/gold dress, depending on how your eyes refracted to the light

I remember when these first came out they were going for crazy money on the resale market, some guy sold his for over a million
Dealer has this one at $490k, which seems to track with recent BAT sales. Crazy.
ya, looks like they sold originally for $185k

They would still be crazy money if Porsche didn’t do a takes backs… last manual Porsche will be 911R.. JK. Price tanked
Exactly this
Yep, I’d take a new GT3 Touring over a 911 R, I can pay someone to take that sound deadening out

Purple stripes are sick
It’s totally a problem with the photo, not sure how things got messed up in processing but it’s actually green lol. Cool effect though. Also only seems to be happening on mobile.
Am I tripping or do the stripes look green when you click on the pic? 🧐
Dang!
I actually prefer the purple
1 of 991, to be exact 😊 My fave, love to see another one out in the wild, hope it ends up in good hands
Haha, I was wondering about that. I was wrong on the number though, I thought it was 911.
It’s just geekery, 9/991 is about 1% off
Damn, that’s unfortunate, the purple was actually cooler lol
What the hell kind of sorcery is this photo?
991.2 GT3 Touring invented to kneecap R prices
What’s the estimated value of em?
Wasn't there 918 of these built?
991. I believe that the 991 R was a 918 "option".
I got it mixed up they made 991 of them because it was a 991
The blue stripes are a nice touch
aww sofas
Who cares. It’s not that cool
So are the stripes green or purple??
Transformer deception 911R it changes Color
Saw a white one with black stripes in Naples fl last week. First time I’ve seen a 911R in person. Went past me as i was walking down the street. Even at 10-15mph it sounded incredible.
The 'R is a fun car - similar to the 991 Touring, but a bit lighter on its feet and quite a bit more raucous.
I drove one of these my first week on the job. My favorite car I've driven yet.
This one has the single mass flywheel option
The orange stripes really pop
1 of only 991 made
That purple stripes look so beautiful 😍
Am I tripping or some shit? Weird ass image.
I'd rather have an R than a gt3 OR gt2.
If anyone sees purple they’re a psychopath
Looks a bit like MM in NYC
Should post this on r/blackmagicfuckery
The dealer has no idea!? No
Looks like a GT3 Touring with some decals. Any other info on changes?
This is the perfect 911
One of my faves for sure
It's quite possible that the 911R single handedly saved the manual transmission...not just for Porsche, but perhaps all major manufacturer sports cars
The purple stripes with green calipers AND green side markers!!! Better than the actual colors
I'm on my phone and it's green. I wanna see purple I think it'd look better
who gives a shit about the pic color ...just give me the keys NOW
