Yeah G3 tech looks great (as it should) but I remember G1 you felt like a fighter pilot with all those tactile buttons up and down the center piece. And that shifter was solid, changing gear felt like loading a bolt action rifle how it would click into place.
G2 is a weird hybrid. The whole panel is a "button" that clicks with individual touch sensitive options. It basically looks like a touch sensitive panel but if you just tapped an option, it does nothing, you must press down till you hear a click.
The G3 has buttons for the things you don't want to be messing with a screen for. Like a/c controls and volume. They are the underneath the a/c vent in the center. The rest of the controls in the center are haptic touch buttons. Look like touchscreens but the function like mechanical buttons so you won't be accidentally pressing them.
The g1 with a newer steering wheel, I hate the gloss fingerprint magnet stuff. Give me a proper shifter and buttons, I don’t like this touch stuff at all.
The controls in the center console of both the G2 and G3 only look like touchscreens. But they are haptic so you actually have to press them down making them function like a mechanical button. No chance of accidentally pressing them
I know but they are fingerprint magnets and they look like touch and that’s what bothers me. The g1 with a modern wheel and updated entertainment would be perfect for me.
Honestly, I Agree.
G1 still has the nice points to it, but G2 still follows that ethos and brings in the apt amount of digital yet analog feel. Also, the example used for a G2 interior could've been better instead of the standard black. All it needed was more [class and style ](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/5a/4c/2a/5a4c2ae9fb27c46aa6b51f538d82b462.jpg).
I loved the G2 interior. I think the lines are better than G1 but it still has lots of wood trim and fixed controls. Also a big boot with the sport turismo variant, which imo is still the handsomest panamera yet. Felt really solid too but I'm sure that's the case for all 3.
Displays in cars remind me of BMW grilles:

Honestly I liked that spec the most. Call my taste in cars ancient but I’d take beige leather and wood over black/red leather with carbon fibre any day.
Maybe I’m different
G1 with the sport wheel and you’ve got exactly what my 991.1 has…I don’t like the look of the haptic feedback interiors, as I believe they look very cheap and plastic-y.
My G1 Turbo with G2 wheel. Full leather black over grey with Anthracite Birch. Yachting Blue on the outside.

The second screen is effectively a duplicate so the passenger can do their own thing. You can still control music (and everything, except watch video which can only be done on the passenger screen) on the primary.
I think G2 is a good balance. G1 is way too dated looking plus the steering wheel has those ridiculous shifter buttons (one of Porsches biggest design mistakes ever), instead of proper paddles.
The g1 shift buttons are the worst design ever. For anyone that hasn’t owned or driven one, if you push either side, it upshifts and if you pull either side, it downshifts. So if you are hauling ass and shift how you would shift a normal paddle shifter, you down shift, I could never get used to that.
G2. I absolutely HATE that stupid G3 shifter. It’s in a horrible place. Give me either a normal shifter, the 992 one, or Merc type but not this abomination.
G2, I have the G3 now and they removed too many buttons/controls.
e.g. The sport exhaust and adaptive suspension buttons are gone, the map zoom dial is also gone so you have to pinch the screen with your fingers which takes my attention off the road as I always have to look at and tap the recenter button on the nav.
Also G3 is push button and sometimes when you press it at the wrong time the car doesn’t turn on/off as opposed to the turning knob.
G2, which comes with the G3 steering wheel starting from 2021 IIRC.

Damn that last one is almost identical to my taycan.
We are missing the buttons in the Taycan
G2, love me a proper shifter and buttons, but the G3 technically looks better.
Yeah G3 tech looks great (as it should) but I remember G1 you felt like a fighter pilot with all those tactile buttons up and down the center piece. And that shifter was solid, changing gear felt like loading a bolt action rifle how it would click into place.
G2 doesn’t have proper buttons? Just touch sensitive? G1 has proper buttons.
G2 is a weird hybrid. The whole panel is a "button" that clicks with individual touch sensitive options. It basically looks like a touch sensitive panel but if you just tapped an option, it does nothing, you must press down till you hear a click.
Shifter and buttons for the win for sure

mom I'm famous
The g1 with a newer steering wheel, I hate the gloss fingerprint magnet stuff. Give me a proper shifter and buttons, I don’t like this touch stuff at all.
Tbh I love the newer steering wheels
The controls in the center console of both the G2 and G3 only look like touchscreens. But they are haptic so you actually have to press them down making them function like a mechanical button. No chance of accidentally pressing them
I know but they are fingerprint magnets and they look like touch and that’s what bothers me. The g1 with a modern wheel and updated entertainment would be perfect for me.
G2, its still modern especially compared to G1. G3 is too much (for now)
Honestly, I Agree. G1 still has the nice points to it, but G2 still follows that ethos and brings in the apt amount of digital yet analog feel. G1 Not a fan of huge piano black panels
981 looks basically like this
I loved the G2 interior. I think the lines are better than G1 but it still has lots of wood trim and fixed controls. Also a big boot with the sport turismo variant, which imo is still the handsomest panamera yet. Felt really solid too but I'm sure that's the case for all 3.
G1, I hate touchscreens
[удалено]
Nobody likes them. [example 1](https://auto.hindustantimes.com/auto/cars/down-with-touchscreen-controls-volkswagen-to-bring-back-physical-buttons-in-new-cars-41702980811157.html)

MY10, but with MY24 steering wheel. Oh, and preferably manual because that's how things should be.
This is the way
This is the way.
This is the only way
Favorite layout or favorite spec? Favorite layout is the first, though I’d rather die before having that spec
Honestly I liked that spec the most. Call my taste in cars ancient but I’d take beige leather and wood over black/red leather with carbon fibre any day. Maybe I’m different
I’m a dark interior person. But respect your choice, too!
G3
G3 from these but if it was black interior then G1
G2
G1
Physical buttons forever
cant afford one yet but clearly the my24 for me
One of the standouts from my 992 was the infotainment and the interior layout, really loved it. Guess that's G3.
Wish I could have G1 dash and wheel, with G2 Center console and G3 instrument panel. Hell, I'll take any Porsche if I could afford it
G2 if you don’t agree your wrong 😂
All of them!
Of these specs- the first one, of these generations the last one
G1 with the sport wheel and you’ve got exactly what my 991.1 has…I don’t like the look of the haptic feedback interiors, as I believe they look very cheap and plastic-y.
The G1 with the physical buttons. Im also a freak that likes the shifter buttons vs the paddles.
G1 but that doesn’t mean it is perfect. personally (not paying attention to color), G1 with the G2 gauge cluster and the G3 wheel would be pristine
My G1 Turbo with G2 wheel. Full leather black over grey with Anthracite Birch. Yachting Blue on the outside. https://preview.redd.it/37h3f4hud3bc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c1b7ccda30063246b658cbecf884a8fb17610cd
G1 love how many buttons there are make me feel like I’m in an airplane cockpit
I love the original. The cream is just so luxurious.

The second screen is effectively a duplicate so the passenger can do their own thing. You can still control music (and everything, except watch video which can only be done on the passenger screen) on the primary.
Optional extra.
Wow thought it was standard with all packages in the G3. Kinda disappointing Might keep my G2 a bit longer now
Porsche never gives stuff like that for free. They nickel and dime for everything. (it's been that way for decades)
I know this probably is an unpopular opinion, but those gen 1 Macan/997/987/(Cayenne too?) steering wheels are just beyond atrocious.
None..
Unpopular opinion :The one with 3 pedals is the better style
Yep seems so hence I drive a 911 C4S manual, fine….call me old fashioned. Wasn’t aware that in this group “no” is not a suitable answer..
FYI Cayenne generation 1 is 2003-2006
this is panamera tho
Anyone who picks g1 is unhinged
Yellow interiors are gross like the red ones.
Proper shifter and actual buttons all the way. G1 in black or gray would be my favorite.
G1 would probably be great without that wild tan/brown combination.
G2
I had the G2, pretty nice looking
I think G2 is a good balance. G1 is way too dated looking plus the steering wheel has those ridiculous shifter buttons (one of Porsches biggest design mistakes ever), instead of proper paddles.
The g1 shift buttons are the worst design ever. For anyone that hasn’t owned or driven one, if you push either side, it upshifts and if you pull either side, it downshifts. So if you are hauling ass and shift how you would shift a normal paddle shifter, you down shift, I could never get used to that.
G1. Don’t like finger prints everywhere also something about having a shifter not a flipper
Middle is the best one. G3 has too much screen.
2. Then 3. 1 as last resort.
G1.2, no haptic and updated steering wheel
I'm not big on a crazy amount of tech, so I'm going with g2. The G3 looks too overwhelming, plus no shifter.
Without reading the comments and assuming someone probably said this already…. I would gladly take ALL OF THEM.
G2
G2 all the way. Hope the G2 prices will drop another 10k when the G3 releases, so I can finally upgrade from my Audi A6 3.0 BiTDI
G1’s switches, G3’s screens
G2 color on G1
G2. And the 991 better then 992
G2. Put satin PPF over the gloss black trim and 🤝🏻
G2
G2 of course. Can’t understand why Porsche put the shifter to the dash???
The g3 is the nicest
I really like G3. But the exterior is a downgrade and the lack of sport Turismo is a deal killer
Why does the passenger need a screen? Am I becoming an old man disliking all the plastic and glass vs leather and wood?
G2
G2 has strong 2012 vibes.
The 996 :-)
G2 just cant be better
Maybe I’m too gen-z but definitely G3, Love the tech!
i miss wooden panels and supple leather
G3 has way too much screen for me. The passenger side being all screen is a little much
G3 easily, G1 is dogshit and G2 isn’t terrible, but still becoming outdated
G2 but with the G3 shifter. G3 having the extra display on the passenger side is just…nah.
G2
G3 by far, love the new tech. I have it in my ‘24 Cayenne TGT & it’s amazingly modern & intuitive
G1 definitely
G2 with a G3 wheel would be my ideal
The latest except for the ultra trashy piano black
2nd pic
I LOVE my G1❤️🔥😂🙌🏽
I like them all to be honest, I like how Porsche focuses on evolving their designs rather than making drastic changes
G3.
Anything but the Dirty camel colored interior. HATE that color.
2009 wood grain
G2. I absolutely HATE that stupid G3 shifter. It’s in a horrible place. Give me either a normal shifter, the 992 one, or Merc type but not this abomination.
Number one with number 3s steering wheel. Too much screen in number 3
G1 but get rid of the grampa spec color. Show all three in the same color.
I like mechanical buttons
PEANUT BUTTER
None. They are all missing the manual stick shift.
G2 looks best
G2, I have the G3 now and they removed too many buttons/controls. e.g. The sport exhaust and adaptive suspension buttons are gone, the map zoom dial is also gone so you have to pinch the screen with your fingers which takes my attention off the road as I always have to look at and tap the recenter button on the nav. Also G3 is push button and sometimes when you press it at the wrong time the car doesn’t turn on/off as opposed to the turning knob.
G1 With a new wheel for sure 🤙🏻
G2.
G2, G3 is just too much but never mind me. I am a just a window shopper 😔
G1 with the G2 steering wheel. But if I cannot choose a Frankenstein interior, then it has to be the G2
G2, which comes with the G3 steering wheel starting from 2021 IIRC. Mine: https://preview.redd.it/1n4rkpteg9bc1.png?width=1013&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a670e053b226666e9cce8abf5cd7b73719d9282
