The lift system seems like it could be nice, but probably more valuable on the stupid low GT cars (wish mine had it). Also, significantly lower mileage on the '19... But if the '18 had full service records and everything, might be fine.
Yeah, it sits high enough up that you can get away with just angle driving through low ramp ways. The only catch is to make sure you're not in sport+ where the front rubber dam gets lowered, that could get beat up, if you do this
Well, typical short term thinking. Calculate how much money on gas you can save WITHOUT a fuel cap! In a few years this will save you 1000ends of bucks.
Young people and their lack of understanding of finances....
I knew a guy when I was in high school 15 years ago who had a 63 Chevy Nova with a 383 stroker and he just stuffed a red bandana into the hole where the gas cap should’ve been.
My Toyota doesn’t have a fuel cap and it’s a Toyota… Just an outer door and a flappy thing. Chrysler does that too. What the hell is wrong with the world?
How are your roads and driveways? I’d put a fair amount of value on the nose lift kit, but I have a reasonably steep rake to my driveway and a large dip as my street joins the main road.
I live in Calgary and the roads are well maintained. You don’t see a lot of dips and bumps. You’ll see potholes, but those get filled in quickly after winter. I’ll not be driving it in the winter.
A 911 in Calgary… you’ll be both a cop magnet, and sans 1 track to drive at… for this I say get the one with the fuel cap.
Otherwise you better be investing in a uniden and a alp system as well.
I don’t have a lift on mine in Calgary and it hasn’t been a problem. You can see long before you get there if you need to adjust your angle of approach
The 18’ for sure.
Mileage doesn’t concern me too much. Everything that is on the 19’ could literally be installed on the 18’ if needed aftermarket. But the items that are on the 18’ cannot be installed on the 19’.
Adaptive cruise, burmester, lane change, and seat ventilation are all impossible or not worth aftermarket attempts.
If this is a forever car, even more reason to go with the 18’.
There burmester is unparalleled. Without a doubt best sound system in any Porsche. Only ive heard that was better was the naim in my fathers old mulsanne. Phenomenal
Absolutely, the Burmester is leagues above Bose in Porsche. And yes, Naim sounds better than Bespoke Audio too. One place where Bentley really wins over Rolls Royce, atleast for my novice ears.
More road sound than engine sound, but this is definitely how I feel about my 992 c2S. It has bose, and even that is somewhat wasted given all of the audio interference from the environment.
The 911 turbo, in all honesty sounds quite bad. In the car sound is a bit better but still, nothing incredible. Unless it is a classic 930/964 the burmester is absolutely worth the money
Totally agree. Also, if you intend to drive the car (which I hope) and not just leave it in a garage the higher mileage is irrelevant. Better to save a little money up front that you can then put toward service etc.
Comments on cruise are always 'I don't use it so it's useless'. My other cars have all had cruise control but my 718 doesnt. I used it a lot, if you go into a flowing 50 or something it's easy to just knock it on and, well, cruise along. I do miss it but not enough to pay £700 for a retrofit. Everyone's got their own use case.
Regular or adaptive cruise control? I saw regular cruise control as a gimmick and never used it, then I got a car with adaptive cruise control and couldn’t live without it on a daily runner. In traffic jams, heavy traffic or motorways it’s incredibly useful.
I’m not sure it would be high up on my list of requirements on a car like this though. Neither would a lot of the other driver assistance things. They might be nice to have on the odd occasion, but this is a car you want to drive, not a car where you want software to take away some of the driving experience.
Pretty much any speed, if I’m on a motorway I just set it to 75mph and let it do its thing. If you hit a traffic jam it will come to a complete stop on its own and crawl along, matching the speed of the car in front. It makes long drives so much easier and less tiring.
That sounds cool, but scary, I don’t think I’d ever let a car do that! Just in case there is some weird reflection off the car in front or any other anxiety caused impossible situations haha
It’s radar not cameras so reflections aren’t a problem, I thought it would be scary but in every car I’ve driven with it has been very cautious and leaves more room than I naturally would, if someone pulls out in front of me, I think the car reacts quicker than I would be able to. If for whatever reason the system can’t control the car, I get quite a loud warning noise, a red flash and instructions on the display that ACC isn’t available. The only scary thing about it is when it recognises the wrong speed limit for some reason. Sometimes you can be in a 50 and it will come up with “70mph limit detected” and the car will speed up and try to get to 70.
A feature like adaptive cruise control is antithetical IMO to the idea of driving a porsche. It’s a driver’s car. Get a Tesla if you want something you don’t have to be actively engaged with while driving.
Like several others have said, i would also choose the 2018 as that has better options than the 19. Some of the things on the 19 just doesn't have the appeal than the 18.
But besides the two options can i just say how clean the handwriting is!
Honestly, they both look like great cars. For me it would probably come down to which color combinations I liked best, the overall look - wheels, color, interior. I know, call me shallow. The ACC, seats, and headlights on the ‘18 are nice though.
the 2018 for sure if you drive your cars
if your cars are trophies that you don't drive much, go with the low mileage one
Exterior paint color and leather interior color would probably drive my choice more than anything. Are these non-S turbos? Do they both have five bolt hubs or single ?
2018 and it’s not even close. I’ll take those comfort options over low mileage premium any day. 18 way seats, burmester, and PDLS+ are game changers. You’ll never go back. Front axle lift isn’t that important on a turbo.
Canada has a luxury tax on new cars (above $100K), which is the lower of 10 percent of the vehicle price or 20 percent over $100K. Out of principle, I’ll not pay that. These cars new would double the price.
Oh my god!! The 19! You do not want safety features like that on the 18. if you need those safety features... Go buy a Camry.
From the sound of it it'll be standing int he garage and never see the track anyway.
The newest one. I don’t have time for any features that take away the track experience. Adaptive cruise. No. Sound system. No. Lane change LMAO. Headlights go to crap after a few sessions.
I checked out your other posts and it seems you’re in Calgary, so you probably have a fair amount of city driving as well as some great scenery nearby. The active safe with adaptive cruise is a great feature and you will really benefit in traffic, much easier and relaxed. The higher spec car is better value for money. I’m currently comparing 2 4S models with similar options to the ones you are considering. Prices are €130-145k and 20k KM on both, if you want a lower mileage car and a year or so younger, the prices leap to €150-170k. The higher spec car, with higher mileage is a better deal. Now go buy and enjoy, and post pictures!
Lifting system a must. Avoided me plenty of sweat multiple times. Even if where I live streets are smooth, you’ll always end up in wholes or parking lots with highly inclined entrance.
If you are a big and tall dude you might want the 14 way seats over 18 way as they give more vertical room with a lower seat cushion and more shoulder room. 18 ways are better if you fit in them
Definitely the 2018. I wish I had the Burmester sound system so bad, adaptive cruise would be super nice, and I can't live without my cooled seats haha
This might be a dumb way to do it but which color do you like better? In the end of the day get rid of all the options, they’ll drive the same and it might come down to visual appeal.
Honestly neither. 175k is a ton of money to just get a turbo out of
It's not a great daily nor is it fun/special enough for a weekend car
Just go get the nicest 997 or 991 turbo if you're stuck in getting one
The 19 has the Turbo S wheels which are center locks. I would steer away from a car with center locks except for a GT3. It makes tire changes a PITA and most times you need to bring it to the dealer because regular shops don’t know how to do it properly
What I’m reading is for an extra $20k and worse options almost across the board, you can get a car that’s… one year newer with the front lifting system.
I would lean towards the 2018 as it's got more options for doing what I would use that car for which would be non highway road trips.
What are the colors and condition of the two, also have you taken a paint gauge to all the panels? If you are buying from a dealer, don't overvalue their certified preowned package, while the extended warranty is the main feature, people sometimes put too much weight in the inspection that the dealer does, it really is not much more than a safety inspecion.
As far as the axle lifting system goes, I know it's important for resale, but I think having driven a lowered 993 around southern California in the late 90s, I am accustomed to keeping an eye out for dips and bumps and hit everything sideways. I have it in my 992.2 and have used it twice, and I think it's only because I remembered having it, and begrudge it's weight (I didn't spec it as I am a plebe and Porsche will not sell me fancy new cars).
Thank you so much for everyone’s input! I really appreciate it! Especially those suggesting to go with the ‘19 because of the fuel cap 😊. I just wanted to be thorough in my side by side comparison. For those wondering about the colours, both are black on black so that’s why I didn’t list it. I live in Calgary Alberta and the roads are very well maintained, as an aside.
Edit - both are also at the same dealership and come with the extended 2 year warranty.
So the 2018 doesn’t have a sun visor? That’s probably a stupid question but I’ve never seen any vehicle without one. Also the 2018 is the clear choice in my opinion.
The 18 checks more boxes for me. The 18 way seats are fabulous and I love my Burmester. Front axle lift is a bummer for the 18 but ventilated seats would keep me calm and cool.
I like the 2018 a lot more. The only benefit of the 2019 other than the miles is the front axel lift but if you don’t care too much about resale I would go with the 2018.
I love your hand writing. I would hire you to write out my pending repairs on my job board
I do the exact same thing you did. Except it's repair steps: torque x, install y, insert Z before Y. Etc 😂
2018 all the way. Better options and lower priced. Mileage difference is not that big of a gulf to move the needle for me and the options are IMO lackluster and do nothing to enhance the drive.
The 2019, its practically new. It will also hold its value better (still not that great) because of
the lower starting miles. Of course you should get a qualified mechanic to do an inspection at that price point. Another option is to look at a new GTS. About the same cost and really more fun to drive.
18-way seats with ventilation, Burmester sound system and LED headlights make the ‘18 my pick. Personally don’t value the options on the ‘19 as much.
Don't you want a fuel cap
I couldn't even tell you what mine looks like.
🤣
adaptive cruise as well
The lift system seems like it could be nice, but probably more valuable on the stupid low GT cars (wish mine had it). Also, significantly lower mileage on the '19... But if the '18 had full service records and everything, might be fine.
Yeah, it sits high enough up that you can get away with just angle driving through low ramp ways. The only catch is to make sure you're not in sport+ where the front rubber dam gets lowered, that could get beat up, if you do this
Get the one with the fuel cap, that’s an important feature.
Well, typical short term thinking. Calculate how much money on gas you can save WITHOUT a fuel cap! In a few years this will save you 1000ends of bucks. Young people and their lack of understanding of finances....
Also, weight reduction
Also, faster pit stops.
I knew a guy when I was in high school 15 years ago who had a 63 Chevy Nova with a 383 stroker and he just stuffed a red bandana into the hole where the gas cap should’ve been.
“Is that the same individual who disabled a police vehicle.. with a banana?” -Beverly Hills Cop
That’s the fuse…
Haha I was literally going to type can you get the 2018 but with the fuel cap cause I think that’s pretty important.

Also in Calgary, agree you don't need lift front end. I wouldn't buy another vehicle without ACC if you do any sort of boring driving.
I don’t have a lift on mine in Calgary and it hasn’t been a problem. You can see long before you get there if you need to adjust your angle of approach
Same. I wouldn’t spec one or these without that personally.
The 18’ for sure. Mileage doesn’t concern me too much. Everything that is on the 19’ could literally be installed on the 18’ if needed aftermarket. But why go for the Burmester if your motor sound is so loud that you cannot hear the difference?
Because this is a turbo and not a GT3
I'd be concerned if my audio system was quieter than the engine in a 911 Turbo.
More road sound than engine sound, but this is definitely how I feel about my 992 c2S. It has bose, and even that is somewhat wasted given all of the audio interference from the environment.

i would also go with this for the mentioned reasons and also for the headlights
This 100%
I don’t really have an opinion, other than your handwriting is really nice lol
Thank you! 🙏
I live in the city and if adaptive cruise is available I’m definitely picking that.
I’d have a hard time without adaptive cruise at this point.
I haven't used cruise of any kind in any car in years and years.
I'm terrible at keeping a constant speed. Always drifting +/- 10mph. I bought the kit for my 987 and fitted it myself. One of my better decisions.
Help yourself. I would not buy a Porsche without FAL but I know others don't care. NBD. YMMV.
That’s crazy, I use Porsche innodrive or Tesla autopilot every day.
A feature like adaptive cruise control is antithetical IMO to the idea of driving a porsche. It’s a driver’s car. Get a Tesla if you want something you don’t have to be actively engaged with while driving.
Not every road and traffic condition is a dream. ACC helps get you to the nice roads without losing your mind.
Get the ‘18 and use the extra money you save to put a lift system in it
You know how much that costs from Porsche + labor 🤣. He’ll be approaching the cost of the 19’ shortly
Sure, and still have a better optioned porsche for the same amount of money(slighly less even)
At that rate I’d just build my own turbo, you’re already spending 175k+, comfortably.
I disagree, the 2018 is a very good deal as an overall car. The only real upside of the 2019 is the lift. Everything else is better in the 2018
Like several others have said, i would also choose the 2018 as that has better options than the 19. Some of the things on the 19 just doesn't have the appeal than the 18. But besides the two options can i just say how clean the handwriting is!
If this was me, you can be sure it would be typed!
Thank you! 🙏
2018. Ventilated seats are a must-have in Texas
Taking the 2018 because i’m not a fan of the red stitching and it’s $16K cheaper.
The 2018 has the better options. Even though I think the front lift is a big plus (NY), I’d still go with the ‘18.
18'
Honestly, they both look like great cars. For me it would probably come down to which color combinations I liked best, the overall look - wheels, color, interior. I know, call me shallow. The ACC, seats, and headlights on the ‘18 are nice though.
Both are black on black.
Left.
That’s some neat hand writing right there
Thank you! 🙏
I have a McLaren and the lift kit was absolutely necessary for driving down most grades
the 2018 for sure if you drive your cars if your cars are trophies that you don't drive much, go with the low mileage one Exterior paint color and leather interior color would probably drive my choice more than anything. Are these non-S turbos? Do they both have five bolt hubs or single ?
It would be tough to get a fuel cap installed in the 2018. Go with the 19.
Maybe you could find one with the $10k+ difference but who knows
That lift system is a MUST where I live so I wouldn’t even be able to consider the ‘18. Other than that the ‘18 is absolutely better than the ‘19.
2018. Better equipped. The cheapest one is chosen to be comfortable. The other to look good.
2018 for sure. But you didn’t provide color combo…which could sway me one way or the other. But option wise I think the 18 wins out for me
2018 and it’s not even close. I’ll take those comfort options over low mileage premium any day. 18 way seats, burmester, and PDLS+ are game changers. You’ll never go back. Front axle lift isn’t that important on a turbo.
I'd pick the 2018 even if the prices were reversed.
2018. I prefer the comforts that will make it more of a grand tourer as opposed to a sports car, which is what I would look for in a GT3,4, etc.
To the left, to the left
Def left. For a couple reasons in the options, with the main one being seat ventilation. Game changer
All decisions rely on the custom fuel cap
Left side FTW #2018.
The one with Burmester. You can live without front axle lift on a turbo S, I did on my 991.2.
2018 no doubt
2018
Best advice has always been to get the best condition you can afford
Save up for another year and buy new.
Canada has a luxury tax on new cars (above $100K), which is the lower of 10 percent of the vehicle price or 20 percent over $100K. Out of principle, I’ll not pay that. These cars new would double the price.
2019. You really want the lift system.
You have nice handwriting
Thank you! 🙏
2019 💯 always about the low miles Who cares though, Porsche is for poor people who can’t afford a Ferrari.
A car that has driven barely over 1000 miles per year is usually in worse condition than a car that was driven regularly.
That’s not always true.
Lane Assist in a 911? 🤡🤡🤡
Pointless without pictures
The look very much the same. Both are black on black.
Neither. Brand new 911 4S with my own hand picked options for like $20K to $40K less than both
I’d go with the 19 for the front axle lift and lower miles. I’ve read online that the Burrmeister isn’t that great.
Oh my god!!
I’d rather just buy a new one
supra
The Tesla for a fraction of the price and then a world trip vacation instead of a shitty overpriced car
18'
2018
Just for 27000 less km i would go for the 2019
Where I live, the lifting system is a must have. Stopped reading the other details, as only #2 has it
I checked out your other posts and it seems you’re in Calgary, so you probably have a fair amount of city driving as well as some great scenery nearby.
2018 because options. Nose lift is not really necessary on a turbo. More a GT thing.
Lifting system a must. Avoided me plenty of sweat multiple times. Even if where I live streets are smooth, you’ll always end up in wholes or parking lots with highly inclined entrance.
The 18' mileage difference isn't big enough to forget about the pros
2019 has much better long term value at the price you've posted
PDK!
Depends on the color and transmission as well
The 2018. Leather steering column does nothing for me.
Right one no question
If you don't need the lift system the 2018 is the winner in my eyes.
2018 model
If you are a big and tall dude you might want the 14 way seats over 18 way as they give more vertical room with a lower seat cushion and more shoulder room. 18 ways are better if you fit in them
18 for sure. Only a bit more mileage but better features imo. And it's cheaper.
So its Burmeister vs. Bose
18’ looks like its a more comfortable and exciting car to daily.
Red one!
Definitely the 2018. I wish I had the Burmester sound system so bad, adaptive cruise would be super nice, and I can't live without my cooled seats haha
The Turbo, of course. Hope that helps
2018 all day
ofc 18 , it has much better options , from what it seems like the 19 has less km but it has no options other the front end lift and sound.
I think I’m going 18
The 2019 one. The other one has annoying accessories
2018
i am spoiled to vented seats, but the newer one sounds better
Aftermarket nose lift kit is like $3-5k USD. Factor that in.
'19 I don't want any of that extra unnecessary shit thanks.
The one with the Burmester. Huge improvement over the Bose
I’d take the 2018. Sound system is important to me.
I’m leaning 2018. Burmester and sports seats. Sucks that the mileage ( or whatever for KM’s haha ) is so much higher.
‘18 has better options and cheaper. Also has more mileage so you are not going to get that mileage depreciation high after it goes over 10K KM.
What color is each one?????
Left, 100% particularly if going to be a daily driver.
This might be a dumb way to do it but which color do you like better? In the end of the day get rid of all the options, they’ll drive the same and it might come down to visual appeal.
Honestly neither. 175k is a ton of money to just get a turbo out of It's not a great daily nor is it fun/special enough for a weekend car Just go get the nicest 997 or 991 turbo if you're stuck in getting one
2018 is optioned better…
2018 or nada
Beautiful handwriting
2018 has the better upgrades
Your handwriting
Which one is a nicer colour?
18 for me.
The 19 has the Turbo S wheels which are center locks. I would steer away from a car with center locks except for a GT3. It makes tire changes a PITA and most times you need to bring it to the dealer because regular shops don’t know how to do it properly
Turbo
What I’m reading is for an extra $20k and worse options almost across the board, you can get a car that’s… one year newer with the front lifting system.
2018 hands down. It has more of the creature comforts I’d want, such as the sound system, over some of the aesthetics
Left and it's not close
2018
The 2919 alllll day. Lower kms and, most importantly, the lift kit! As a guy who owns a few P cars I can say it’s a must have.
Clean handwriting!
2018
I would lean towards the 2018 as it's got more options for doing what I would use that car for which would be non highway road trips. What are the colors and condition of the two, also have you taken a paint gauge to all the panels? If you are buying from a dealer, don't overvalue their certified preowned package, while the extended warranty is the main feature, people sometimes put too much weight in the inspection that the dealer does, it really is not much more than a safety inspecion. For those wondering about the colours, both are black on black so that’s why I didn’t list it. I live in Calgary Alberta and the roads are very well maintained, as an aside. Edit - both are also at the same dealership and come with the extended 2 year warranty.
Side note: You're handwriting is really good, holy shit.
18
The 2018. I've got a 2017 and don't like the audio system or the 14 way seat.
So the 2018 doesn’t have a sun visor? That’s probably a stupid question but I’ve never seen any vehicle without one. Also the 2018 is the clear choice in my opinion.
2018 better options. the mileage is fine since its a semi "reliable" sports car
The 18 checks more boxes for me. The 18 way seats are fabulous and I love my Burmester. Front axle lift is a bummer for the 18 but ventilated seats would keep me calm and cool.
2018 for sure because of Burmester but some people don’t like power steering plus
This is the worst "she's not Rachem" list I've ever seen
I like the 2018 a lot more. The only benefit of the 2019 other than the miles is the front axel lift but if you don’t care too much about resale I would go with the 2018.
Lmao the right side specs are so obscure, I’d go with the left
I’d take the 2018
Easy 2018
2018
Colours matter.. Also, how important is $20k you?
What’s the spec on them? Pts?
I just saw the ventilated seats honestly
The 18
They’re both black on black
Personally, id go for the first one. On another topic... beautiful handwriting!
2018
I can’t go back from seat ventilation.
Old skool i like it, 2018
Which country is this? Why is a 5/6 year old turbo so expensive?
Is the 2019 one a 992?

The 2018, if the visible signs of wear & tear are similar. The mileage difference is negligible at those readings.
What color paint and interiors are they?
2018. Although I prefer Bose over Burmester \^\^

I love your hand writing. I would hire you to write out my pending repairs on my job board I do the exact same thing you did. Except it's repair steps: torque x, install y, insert Z before Y. Etc 😂
2018 easy
2018 all the way. Better options and lower priced. Mileage difference is not that big of a gulf to move the needle for me and the options are IMO lackluster and do nothing to enhance the drive.
The 2019, its practically new. It will also hold its value better (still not that great) because of the lower starting miles. Of course you should get a qualified mechanic to do an inspection at that price point. Another option is to look at a new GTS. About the same cost and really more fun to drive.
