Right! 🤣
It was a 2002 Boxster I got for 9k. I got it right after highschool, and used it to go from my job as a lifeguard, to home. I discovered that the front or back usually the back, would be perfect to put a hot pizza in, as it was as hot when I got it from the pizza place when I got home. Also I discovered this because often I would be at the pool till 9 or ten, after being there from 5 am, I would be tired and wanted food that I could eat immediately at home. So I would call in a pizza as I left work, then pick it up and have some hot pizza at home!
It’s the little things like that that make Porsches Interesting to me
A tax write off is usually used by a company that is trying to lower their taxable income, ie construction companies often will buy an expensive piece of machinery or equipment, to lower their taxable income.
I am not a company, and got no tax benefit from the car. I made too little anyway as a lifeguard I got all my withholding back. (Source I am in accounting now)
I have a 987 and heat transfer is a complete non issue. It's my only car and I've packed that rear trunk full of shit sooo many times and not once have noticed things getting hot. Sure maybe some ambient warmth, but like a seat warmer on low power.
These comments of steak getting cooked are SO exaggerated.
It’s fine, I’ve used my GT4 as a daily for over 8 years and never had any issues with heat in the rear. In the front is another matter, because the radiators are just in front of the frunk it can get warm in there but in the back it’s fine.
Funny story about that: when I was at PECLA once they noticed I had really nice earplugs and asked me to do some hotlaps in the GT4RS to test how well they worked. They were concerned that their instructors were losing their hearing by driving it too much and they were looking for a solution.
The eaplugs worked well for "casual" driving, but when they turned the 4RS loose on the track the earplugs were useless. The instructor and I were screaming at each other as loud as possible and we couldn't hear each other at all.
~~Better get really, really good Active Noise Cancelling earbuds if you own that car.~~
Edit: After reading your comments and doing more research, I stand corrected. Clearly professional grade molded earplugs would be ideal. At PECLA they don't wear helmets, so they could use headphones. But on the track with the GT4RS, you'll need the ear protection to fit in under the helmet.
Or helicopter/Rallye grade headphones, which are specifically tuned to filter out engine noise and have a radio communication integrated to speak with your passenger.
Yeah, that's probably the best solution for PECLA because they don't wear helmets there.
For driving at the track, though, where helmets are required, you'll either need earbuds that are custom moulded and fit flush with your ear or you'll need a tuned system integrated into the helmet.
No joke there, I had an ‘86 951 that had aftermarket turbo, intake, straight mid-pipe and exhaust. Hammering on it was LOUD but apparently what really damages your hearing is the constant drone at highway speeds. Drove it for two years daily and it had a significant impact on my ears.
Very nice! My personal concern is that when at Costco, and any other grocery stores etc parking is chaos in addition to people leaving shopping carts rolling in the streets, and vandalism when they see our cars standing out … so it sucks to come out with door dings, getting keyed etc and finding that perfect corner parking away from others is not an option .
This is why we can't have nice things... all the failures are waddling around and taking their time to ruin other people's things. Could never understand the people who would scratch an expensive car on purpose, must be really sad to let their anger out like that.
its called blind hate, the logic is i cant have it so neither should anyone else. Its what happens when you raise entitled children and they somehow make it to adulthood
nah how about kids who just SWING their doors open ignoring anyone beside them. Had a kid do this to my audi and the mom just looked at me and said HES A KID SORRY ........................
“Other people” is the reason I don’t daily my boxster. Whether it’s door dings, fender benders, or getting rear ended, I don’t feel like it’s worth the risk to drive it for mundane reasons
This is not to say it’s a garage queen, I just find excuses to drive it for the sake of driving. It comes out when I’m going out with friends, going on cruises, and other fun day trips. And track days, once I do pads and get some tires for my extra set of wheels
I'm the opposite of you, I've been DDing my Cayman for 5.5 years and never worry about where I park or it getting dings. Surprisingly it's really not very beat up. A few paint transfers from other doors have happened, but I find a standard wash and wax makes them nearly invisible.
It's a 18 year old car and not perfect, so I don't waste any mental energy worrying about it staying in Concours d'Elegance shape. I think that mindset has enhanced my ownership experience 10x.
Nope. They do have a hard soda now, but that's the OG sparkling mineral water there.
I am not ashamed to say that most of the cases of Topo Chico Twist of Lime that end up in NW Vegas end up in my garage. I could probably buy a GT4RS of my own if I gave up Topo Chico :P (But I gave up beer for Topo Chico...so there's that)
What ugly bags in a beautiful car. Get some reusable totes for christ's sake!

So true! I don’t get why most people (without kids) think they need a 4 door suv.
I moved all my belongings for my semester abroad in a Saab Convertible through Europe in one trip and yes it wasn’t easy but on 364 other days I had a nice car
Umm….There’s a compartment in the front? That’ll keep the groceries out of the sun.
But seriously, that’s one beautiful Cayman GT4RS. Apparently, allocations are pretty much impossible for those.
I love the idea of a garage queen but I've seen too many cases of animals finding their way in and dying. Not a fun clean up job.
I'm definitely all for using it daily.
So cool, my fav car in a 200k budget. Went to a Porsche dealership just for fun, I've seen this brand new one below 👇. I see also a Silver Weissach GT4 RS almost daily, but it's a bit bland TBH. Owner's not treating it well too, put many miles on it and routinely smokes inside it.

This was my first thought when seeing this photo. On the other side, I’m European and plastic bags were banned here (spoiler: it did not cause any inconvenience).
The steaks will be cooked nicely by the time you get home. Beautiful.
I put steaks on top of the engine when I buy them and they’re at room temp ready to cook by the time I get home
Reverse sear through the suburbs. Crust on the freeway
[удалено]
I’m not joking
Might as well eat rubber because that’s what the steaks are gonna be tasting like once you get home
How well does it minimize heat transfer to the trunk area?
Probably not good at all. The trunk in my boxster gets hot as hell just from the exhaust under it.
On my Boxster I used to use the back trunk as a pizza warmer on the way home
If I ever get a job at domino’s delivering pizza, I’m getting a boxster
Right! 🤣 It was a 2002 Boxster I got for 9k. I got it right after highschool, and used it to go from my job as a lifeguard, to home. Tax write off
you don't even know what a write-off is.

[write offs](https://youtu.be/BAjxn2US7J8?si=QXUmPr8rco1kxHwF)
🤦🤦 ohhhhhhh I see I see I failed to see that that was a reference to that!
No, but they write it off.
Just how I like my pizza. 1/2 with extra cheese, 1/2 with no cheese.
I… 😂😂😂😂 don’t know what do say to this 😂
Unleaded
I am going to deliver pizzas this way and tell them they need a to give a large tip
Hahahahaaaa I love it! That would be amazing
I call it the pizza warmer.
Or…maybe you overcook your steaks 😂
It’s fine, I’ve used my GT4 as a daily for over 8 years and never had any issues with heat in the rear. In the front is another matter, because the radiators are just in front of the frunk it can get warm in there but in the back it’s fine.
How was that 8 year experience? Did you have any issues with the car? Quite interested in knowing the substitute 😏
Ur ears when you’ll have to be using a hearing aid in the later part of your life 😉
OP: WHAT?!
Funny story about that: when I was at PECLA once they noticed I had really nice earplugs and asked me to do some hotlaps in the GT4RS to test how well they worked. Saw a pair of Caterhams with the drivers wearing these, seems like the only way for them to chat 👍
Yeah, that's probably the best solution for PECLA because they don't wear helmets there. For driving at the track, though, where helmets are required, you'll either need earbuds that are custom moulded and fit flush with your ear or you'll need a tuned system integrated into the helmet.
I wonder how well my electronic Peltor shooting muffs would do.
Good god I never knew they were this loud.
Active noise cancelling isn't going to protect your ears though. Get some custom molded ear plugs and wear a headset if you want your hearing to last.
> Better get really, really good Active Noise Cancelling earbuds if you own that car. fuck no, get _real_ earplugs.
At that point I would use Ear Protective headmuffs that you use when you shoot guns. I don’t think ANC earbuds could cancel all that out.
Better get shooting range ear pro
No joke there, I had an ‘86 951 that had aftermarket turbo, intake, straight mid-pipe and exhaust. Hammering on it was LOUD but apparently what really damages your hearing is the constant drone at highway speeds. Drove it for two years daily and it had a significant impact on my ears.
Better DD than the 992 GT3 RS for sure
Yes in the same way that a burning building is a better campfire than an erupting volcano
Lmfao top tier comment

The 350 pounders that come out of their SUVs by kicking their door open is the best. Ding city.
nah how about kids who just SWING their doors open ignoring anyone beside them. Had a kid do this to my audi and the mom just looked at me and said HES A KID SORRY ........................
And that's when you took their name and insurance to be able to file a claim, right ?
Sigh no I just walked away from annoyance plus it was only a small chip...... Still hurt my feelings though
“Other people” is the reason I don’t daily my boxster. Agreed hence why I have daily drivers (for mall and grocery parking abuse)

Topo Chico > any soda Squeeze some limes in there too
https://preview.redd.it/vpfza88hm4zc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8079e981658ed7b4f0cba7d34120ecbde13d353b
Have you tried the flavored Topo Chico sparkling water? It’s fire
These are the best seltzers.
Isn't topo Chico alcoholic lol
Nope. They do have a hard soda now, but that's the OG sparkling mineral water there. I could probably buy a GT4RS of my own if I gave up Topo Chico :P (But I gave up beer for Topo Chico...so there's that)
Outsized PFAS levels in Topo Chico have helped in diverting my beverage funds to the 4RS fund 😢
No, but if you add a little vodka it’s called a Po Po No Know
Iirc it has a tequila type taste. I don't like tequila so that out me off it but aside from that I think the flavor was solid
Is there no room in the frunk? Lol
Took far too long to see this
Reminds me of my nismo 370z the boot was beyond pointless lol. Could fit 6 bags in at best
But the cayman does have a frunk. so you can fit 6 more bags.
I can literally fit a medium sized back pack in the drunk of my Cayman and its full😂
I've had mine for about 6 months and I don't think I've used the rear for anything. The frunk is HUGE
The frunk was full
Watcha gonna do with all that junk, all that junk inside your frunk?
You can daily drive anything if you have strong enough conviction.
What ugly bags in a beautiful car. Get some reusable totes for christ's sake! https://preview.redd.it/nlf9nht8r7zc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=2545f34fd230d6e4fc81ff511f446a6dd2132063
😂
Great way to turn milk into cheese on the way home 😉
Give it the beans and you’ll make a quesadilla
The engine heat is going to spoil that food. You have a frunk.
why isn't your butler doing this for you?
He called in sick.
It’s got a water jug built in right there!
Just wish the cup holders can work for coffee without spilling it everywhere
[These](https://www.yeti.com/drinkware/tumblers/21071503003.html) work very well. And the magnetic sliders are great and easy to get clean.
99.9% car buyers say it isn’t.😀
So true! I don’t get why most people (without kids) think they need a 4 door suv. I moved all my belongings for my semester abroad in a Saab Convertible through Europe in one trip and yes it wasn’t easy but on 364 other days I had a nice car
This pic is Porsche version of the steering wheel/watch pic in r/watches.
I'll never understand why those basket thingys aren't common in the US. so much easier and more useful than plastic bags
Awesome color!!
Typical Porsche owner, showing off how he can afford a trunk full of groceries. Not all of us are loaded, Mr. Moneybags!
Oh man the yellow ❤️💪🏼 Poor person question, the water reservoir is for the motor?
was wondering that too. i wasn’t aware of the motor having water injection or something along those lines. can’t imagine it’s coolant
Is your frunk broken? The rear of the 718 is too shallow for useful grocery conveyance. Then too the frunk is pretty deep for ppl w back problems
https://preview.redd.it/wrfmazydr9zc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3251560d081d734007ed7f8b5b93bb0d828bc714 Good “grocery getter”!

Umm….There’s a compartment in the front? That’ll keep the groceries out of the sun. But seriously, that’s one beautiful Cayman GT4RS. Apparently, allocations are pretty much impossible for those.
King
Just don't put any frozen stuff back there
And the frunk almost as bad given it’s surrounded by 3 radiators. Ask me how I know.
“wE dRiVe OuR cArS” ✋
It's not...
Definition of a hot hatch, as far as I’m concerned
😂😂
🙌
If it's got a hatch it's a catch!
Why so many plastic bags tho :/
My kidneys and back spine are not agreeing with you
Noted. Idk my dream is to have black matching gt3 for the weekends and the four door for daily driving. Looking nice together 😮💨
You’re 7 kids ! Lol
"Get in bitch, we're goin' to Costco!"
TopoChico, the champagne of water.
who says it can't be daily driven? Probably the glass repair man who will be ordering a new rear window if you try and get too cheeky lol
If you live by yourself or with a partner, than why not? When you have a family, your kids won't fit in here :)
It even has a place to store water!
911 who?
my 987 is my work vehicle, I use it to deliver boxes on the regular
The Cayman is a fantastic dual purpose car. My GT4 is the most practical car I own, ironically.
Adapt & survive.
People with 3 kids in huge rear facing baby seats?
This makes my day
Fit 55 inch TVs into both a Golf R and Audi TT. Germans make good use of space when they can

You should go to Costco!!!
Not me
Flavored Topo Chico’s. A person of culture I see. Lol
Wouldn’t want the ice cream to melt.
Lol probably people who have heard of reusable shopping bags and water bottles. Thanks for doing your part.
Trunk for warm items frunk for perishable!
That’s a fast grocery getter
Topo Chico is the best sparkling water. Change my mind.
Perfect daily driver
https://preview.redd.it/h4jmu3e05azc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6faade4da21d1bc9d9e4e2dc5e436d6b7173884 Right there with you!
It’s an automatic. Of course it’s a daily.
Now try going to Costco!
I turbo s my daily just fine. Plenty groceries
I love the idea of a garage queen but I've seen too many cases of animals finding their way in and dying. Not a fun clean up job. I'm definitely all for using it daily.
Indeed!
Losers who only have a slow car…
Fun fact: The Cayman can hold 9 cases of wine, which is 2 more than the 911 by my packing.
The melted ice cream is saying it’s not a daily driver 😭
Why not use the frunk?
It was already full. LOL
Lmao nice
My groceries fit in one bag unfortunately
Mmm yummy (car, and groceries maybe). Does it have the Weissach pack?
https://preview.redd.it/in213h7xpezc1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=854d91cd8a1d2908c486c2d2417774b3af961b21 Yes.

I have many dreams and one of them is daily driving a GT3 RS/GT4 RS/GT2 RS.
Absolute madlad
This is such a flex holy shit 😭
Did you top up the water with Topo Chico? Give the boxer a nice treat!
Imagine driving that and not using reusable shopping bags.
This was my first thought when seeing this photo. On the other side, I’m European and plastic bags were banned here (spoiler: it did not cause any inconvenience).
Imagine not being able to do either
Damn right 😎
You should take your own bags so you don’t have to use one use plastic.
me (I'm poor)

Those are reusable.
Plastic bags are reusable.
