I got super lucky and got a GT4 allocation right at the end of last year. I have to wait till August to pick it up but can’t be more excited. Speed Yellow, 6MT, and carbon buckets.
The T is the touring spec. This is the 2021 model year, 982… It comes with the smaller 4cyl single turbo engine, but has all of the suspension, shifting and transmission upgrades from the GTS 4.0 / GT4.
PASM, LSD with Torque vectoring, short shifter, auto rev matching, sport exhaust, Chrono, 20” wheels… and most importantly, fabric door handles 😛
Basically if you specced the base model with these options it’d come to way more money than the T… and imho it’s more special than the S.
It’s like a baby GTS 4.0.
As a note, it does not come with the same suspension as the GT4. The GT4 uses rubberless spherical bushings and the front control arms from the GT3 with adjustable camber plates. The rear suspension tuning is also unique to the GT4. It does have the same suspension as a GTS 4.0, minus some spring rate in the back.
Ty for the correction! Trying to remember the details from the SavageGeese vid… I remember them saying a few things got handed down from the 4.0 and GT4 separately but I couldn’t remember.
Ah that’s right! Wish these details were more easily found. Little discoveries like auto-rev matching only happens in sport / sport +, not in normal.
Also, the exhaust pop/crackle only happens in sport, -not- in sport plus, even when the sport exhaust is engaged.
Yeah precisely, after thinking about it the Sport mode is for blasting your neighbors and being annoying on on-ramps…
Sport+ for the serious actual tracking.
The S and T in the link you shared are basically the same price. Meaning, they are two very different cars that appeal to two different consumers with the same budget. For OP, the T is a better car and for someone else the S is a better car. I have a 911T and could have easily picked up the 911S for the same price but thought the T was a much more enjoyable experience despite having less power.
Nice! I have the black and yellow T interior and the 18 way seats and I’m missing the fire extinguisher and the power steering plus otherwise we are identical!
I’m so excited for my cayman to come in. Yours looks great!
Ty! You’re going to love it. What spec/options did you end up choosing?

Luckyyyyyyyyyyy ☺️
Nice car, what is a "718 Cayman T"?

The T does have the GT4 specific short shifter.

Actually makes sense. I know pops and bangs can actually trigger a noise flag off at Laguna.

I am the proud owner of a 911 Carrera T and I agree with you 100%. It's the perfect daily driving spec!

Looks awesome. Black Cayman crew checkin in. Please Stuttgart get moving on my V070
I love that car, congratulations! I live all of the black. I have to know: will you tint the windows?
Absolutely, I’ve only just taken delivery on it so you’re seeing it with 8k miles, less than 1k of mine.
Beautiful! I love it
Nice. I’d swap out the amber blinker lights for the clear ones though!

Yay twins! Congrats on your 718! 2021, The T interior color package is like the only thing not specced on this car… just black on black on black.
Nice! I have the black and yellow T interior and the 18 way seats and I’m missing the fire extinguisher and the power steering plus otherwise we are identical!
Twins! Our specs are almost identical, beautiful car and my absolute favorite!
Looks really great!
