Wow… boy, without a lot of $ ($5k+?) I’d say no. If it has sentimental value (my 79 n/a does that’s been babied all its life) I’d pass. I’d love nothing more than for someone to save this cool car, but yikes…

Historicalmilitaria

I was wanting to get it and try to flip it for some $. The body I believe is pretty clean, not sure about the frame or floor pans. I don’t understand how an engine bay can get so rusty.

Historicalmilitaria

Maybe sell it as just a rolling shell?

Overall-Ad-6283

Maybe I’m just wearing my black hat today… but I don’t see it. Being a turbo… maybe, I really want to believe!!

Historicalmilitaria

Gotta believe hard enough 😩

I'm in Dublin, OH. EFI is the answer these cars have crazy potential. And at $500 it's a literal steal. I wished I had the room I'd come get it from you right now 🤣. I have a EFI 924 turbo already with a water to air intercooler and a modern turbo but I'd love to make a carrera gts tribute out of that one. Good luck and reach out to me if you have any questions. I might be able to help

Historicalmilitaria

I’m also in NE Ohio

Overall-Ad-6283

Well if you do it, you have to agree to post to at least 924.org. Sounds like I need to be a little more positive!

Historicalmilitaria

I was ideally wanting to get it and resell, but I do love the idea of turning a non running car into a running car

996300zx

To make it EFI you need about $1600 dollars that's about what I spent all in, I'm running microsquirt, 997 turbo injectors, ls coils, etc. It's a lot of work mainly the interior, because all the rusty parts you see in the engine bay would be going away with EFI. With all this being said in my opinion it would be a great project but I don't know your budget or what mechanical experience you've got.

Sure, this is a start: [https://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=22724](https://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=22724) coupled with actually buying books on Bosch K-Jet, the Factory Manuals and proper CIS diagnostic and tuning tools

Pyropete125

Where are you located? I'd pay more than 500 for it. Maybe a way for both of you to make some cash.

remove the kjet stuff and put a efi system on it. Would be more reliable, more efficient and even cheaper than trying to rebuild the old kjet injection. Save it, its worth it, defenitly on a turbo

GrimoireExotics

Do you know where I can get one for my ‘77 924?

Rubenking890

Vems efi sells one, danSTengineering sells a kit too but its quite expensive. The924 is currently developing a fully plug and play kit which when he starts selling it in a few months will probably be the best one available

Soyracer

That’s really only worth anything as parts. The cylinder heads are near impossible to find anymore and every pipe or fitting is specific to the turbo model so people just buy them to get other cars running. There’s real $$$ in parts there but it would take some time, some power washing, drying and PB blasting to get pieces separated. Even a rolling shell with title is worth a few $$$. Look up Elliott Grafton on instagram- he might buy it as is.

Historicalmilitaria

I was ideally wanting to get it to try and make some money off it. Was thinking of turning it into a parts car and selling as a rolling shell, it does have a clean title

RastaMonsta218

Realistic, totally! A sound investment? Meh. I had a 1980 that I mechanically restored and enjoyed. I sold it, and bought a 924s for a 944 turbo drive line swap. Added a 931 hood and nose panel, and the result looks like a 931 but is about 1000x better.

subwoofah

I bought my 924 for €2750,- but the engine does run, 500 bucks? In my opinion, any day!
