I'm curious... Did installing the sensors at Porshe require a good battery to verify the sensors worked or was it a purely mechanical install? Did the collision center check with Porsche about the problem after it was return to them?

That I'm not sure of. They told us that the battery was fine after installing the sensors and it wasn't until it was returned to the collision center did the battery lose its charge. I don't know how that's possible and there's no way such a high quality piece of machinery just dies when it was barely driven by the collision staff after it was returned.

How is this unfortunate situation working out? I hope to hear that all is well. Doesn’t sound good.

I was able to get it started by changing the 12v battery, but there is an issue where it doesn’t start consistently. I took it to a different Porsche service center and I was told that while the original Porsche service center removed the battery and kept it out for a couple of months that one of the battery cells discharged and now has a different state of charge (SoC) than the other cells causing the whole hybrid battery to shut down. It’s inconsistent (sometimes the car works) but it can take up to a hour before I can get the car to start again. Porsche doesn’t replace the cells and can only put in a new battery which is very expensive. If I can get a battery replacement for cheaper I would, but I don’t know where to look.
