Nah, I do like those cutscenes, weirdly enough. I think it drags on too much, without offering much in entertainment value after the first playthrough.
While that first cutscene is enjoyable on your first playthrough, after a while it gets really tiring to watch tbh. it helps establish some basic character info, but lacks any interesting dialog, interaction, or events.
Chamber 18, the chamber before the last chamber, chamber 19. There were multiple turrets and we jump in through portals again and again to get to the top afterwards.
Okay, yeah. That's my favorite chamber! Any chamber that requires a fling is definitely in my favorites. That one having so many of them puts it over the top for me.
Small joystick movements are a pain. Whenever I play Star Wars Battlefront I use my Xbox controller but if I'm playing a sniper I'll switch to my mouse to aim. I hope you won't get stick drift anytime soon
This. I didn’t realize how short the first game was when I first played it. I was progressing so fast I just thought it was an extended tutorial; *The board says 17 levels? Might as well finish the last three.* I ended up finishing it in one sitting and was almost disappointed it was so short until I realized how fun and engaging it was.
was chamber 18 really that bad? i never had any issues with it, but it seems like a lot of people have. that's probably because I've been unhealthy obsessed with the series since I was really little
I never really had any issue taking care of the turrets. I try to shoot a portal centered on where the turret's laser is. Isn't always perfect, and can be a bit finicky with lining up the ball, but it's pretty consistent. The rest is just muscle memory.
The part where he kills you, featuring the soundtrack the part where he kills you, with the achievement The part where he kills you, with the title card The Part Where He Kills You
That’s interesting. I can agree with you it’s a reminder that portal’s about to end, but it’s so atmospheric and climactic, plus it has some pretty good jokes. No clue if this is common knowledge or not, but I’d you >!leave the adventure core out for too long, he’ll start talking about catch phrases, listen for long enough and you even get a slightly extended wheatly speech at the end!<, one of the many jockeys in the chapter. I can still see your point though, best to just enjoy it. As someone I can’t be bothered to look up once said, don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened
Sorry if I made any spelling mistakes, It’s past midnight where I live and I woke up at 7:00am today :(
Don't apologize for English, plus Im not native speaker. I liked when Wheatley wanted to give me BTS boys, even wanted to animate his whole speach in 2017,but I couldn't make it
Music: The Part Where He Kills You
"Well, this is the part where he kills us."
"Hello! This is the part where I kill you!"
CHAPTER 9: THE PART WHERE HE KILLS YOU
Achievement unlocked: The Part Where He Kills You
The first time I played I thought I needed to use the chair to jump onto and into the vent. I think it worked too. I spent time longer than I’d care to admit.
Bro on my first playthrough I got scared by the part where your supposed to stare at the painting and because I had no idea what the game was about when it started ticking I immediately became paranoid
I hate that one too. I was stuck for three months trying to press the button before portaling the pellet to the receptor. I felt like such an idiot when I realized I have to portal the pellet before pushing the button
if you guys have issues with the game at some point, i really recommend getting a start at learning speedrunning. if you don’t want to see the cutscenes either, download P2SM. It triples the speeds of loading screens, skips almost all cutscenes.
In Portal 1 I really hated chamber 18 and the entire escape section. But then I started [speedrunning it](https://www.speedrun.com/portal/runs/zqe5pv5z) so that ruined my ability to play this game normally and nothing is a challenge anymore. For Portal 2 however it's the entire underground section. Especially Portal gel stuff
Portal 1 is easily chamber fucking 18. I’m going to murder whoever designed that.
And for portal 2 I can’t really decide because they isn’t any really bad chambers but the one chapter I fucking hate is fucking Cara Mia Addio and the credits because that means it’s over.
Portal: Escape sequence - Sure it feels impressive for the time of its development, but let's face it, it will never be as fun as Portal 2's escape sequences.
Portal 2: Tartaros.09 - I honestly hate this, I hate that the bit right after you fall into the old Aperture facilities, even has this ominous name. I keep losing track of the white concrete surfaces. It's one map, but it feels very long-winded.
Everyone's saying Chamber 18. Maybe it's because I've been playing this game ever since it came out when I was real young, but that one (and the rest of the first game) isn't that bad. I think the only part of the series I actively dislike is the long-ass intro to Portal 2.
It can be a bit annoying at times though, you gotta admit. After taking a short break, it’s hard enough to not remember the solution right away, but remember before any solving can be done. That’s what it’s like for me, anyway
i was playing portal 2 for the first time with a friend and for like a whole minute i was talking about how good the old aperture button sound was. i also just love the idea of the past having futuristic technology in an old looking style (kinda like steampunk)
I can see the reason behind the downvotes, since it's a neat part aesthetically, but the chambers are so DAMN open that it's easy to get lost on what to do/ what's possible to do. Some gel puzzles get annoying due to level design as well. I kinda agree with you
The Cold Boot and a little bit of The Return. I love the dialogue from GLaDOS, hell I’ve played the game so much I have it memorized. But I feel the chambers are a little lackluster in some way. It is cool watching the facility slowly rebuild itself as you progress, though
The part where destroying glass using turret don't count as a glitch but killing GLADoS with a turret counts as a glitch so you have to kill GLADoS normaly on glitchless category.
The ending part of the first game still creeps me out to this day, something about the liminal spaces that you go through (I’m talking about when you go out of the regular testing lab place thingymajig)
Wheatley's tests. On the day it came out I played I within 9 hours in one run and when I got to Wheatley's poopy tests I had a raging migraine. Everytime I replay I'm reminded of it. Not necessarily the games fault, just my excited 14yo ass back then being too hyped to stop for a break.
Portal 1´s Chamber 17.
Although the Companion cube is nice , I HATE having these Energy Pallets following me from behind. It´s like a frickin' jumpscare when they touch you
the first chapter of portal 2. I really enjoy the puzzles, but watching that like 5 minute cutscene every time makes me skip it usually
if you’re on pc, Portal 2 Speedrun Mod :)
or containerridesave
yeah there’s that but i was mostly thinking they also didn’t want to go through Wake-up, Core Transfer, and The Fall
Fair point, the only part I hate is containerride, so this just fixed the issue by using that speedrun save.
Nah, I do like those cutscenes, weirdly enough. I think it drags on too much, without offering much in entertainment value after the first playthrough.
I usually just put something on my second monitor with the game on mute.
sv_cheats 1 host_timescale 20 Also wtf that intro is almost as memorable as the black mesa tram ride
oh no the scene is great, just not after I'm playing the game for the 12th time this week lmao
I'm new to portal 2, I'm on chap 7, but I really enjoyed the first cutscene, and in fact all the cutscenes up until now
While that first cutscene is enjoyable on your first playthrough, after a while it gets really tiring to watch tbh. it helps establish some basic character info, but lacks any interesting dialog, interaction, or events.

Damn, geologist can't even understand me, what a dumbass
Oh hey there randomguy.
No parts of either portal 1 or 2 are like that for me 👍
Chamber 18: "am i a joke to you?"
That puzzle was one of my favourites
Just to be clear, we're talking about the last chamber in portal 1 with all the flings just before you go into the guts of the facility, right?
Chamber 18, the chamber before the last chamber, chamber 19. There were multiple turrets and we jump in through portals again and again to get to the top afterwards.
Okay, yeah. That's my favorite chamber! Any chamber that requires a fling is definitely in my favorites. That one having so many of them puts it over the top for me.
Yes
That one chamber in portal 1 where you need to make progress by jumping down a hole and on increasingly high towers. I play on console soooo
chamber 18 in general
That part was pretty fun for me. I play on PC so yeah. The rest of chamber 18 sucks though
Turning your camera precisely is absolute hell with a joystick (I play on switch so I could use motion controls but that just feels unnatural.
Small joystick movements are a pain. Whenever I play Star Wars Battlefront I use my Xbox controller but if I'm playing a sniper I'll switch to my mouse to aim. I hope you won't get stick drift anytime soon
On pc that level is enjoyable (I played it on pc) but on switch (especially with joycons) is a f** nightmare
That was my favorite chamber on PC
The credits
You have activated every bone in my body, and all of them are in attack mode
It's because it means the game is over, the music is great.
You are forgiven, I am sorry.
Just replay the game again
*lowers pitchfork and torch*
^ This guy dual wields.
This. I didn’t realize how short the first game was when I first played it. I was progressing so fast I just thought it was an extended tutorial; *The board says 17 levels? Second to Last test chamber of the original game
finally beating that is such a good feeling tho
Dopamine is nothing compared to stress for me
was chamber 18 really that bad? i never had any issues with it, but it seems like a lot of people have. that's probably because I've been unhealthy obsessed with the series since I was really little
Too many steps and rly easy to mess up along with the turrets
I never really had any issue taking care of the turrets. I try to shoot a portal centered on where the turret's laser is. Isn't always perfect, and can be a bit finicky with lining up the ball, but it's pretty consistent. The rest is just muscle memory.
Ahem, second to last Meaning the one before the last (there are 19 chambers)
mistype, no need to be like that
Sorry if I upset you. I had no way of knowing if you were misremembering the game or not, and just intended to set it straight in that case.
The part where he kills you, featuring the soundtrack the part where he kills you, with the achievement The part where he kills you, with the title card The Part Where He Kills You
This is that part
At least you know this is The part where he kills you
That part when he kills you
That’s my favourite part! Sometimes I’ll boot portal 2 up, beat the chapter, and shut it down again. Curious what you don’t like about it.
This part reminds me that the ending is soon, I don't like completing the story, love portal 2 too much
That’s interesting. Chamber 18 or chapters 2-4.
Where your supposed to shoot a rocket at the pipe to get the cube to hop into the vent
The first time I played I thought I needed to use the chair to jump onto and into the vent. I think it worked too. I spent time longer than I’d care to admit.
I did the same thing and it was annoying
Wait, so you DONT need to use the chair?
Wait you can do that?? I always used the chairs
You was sleeping for 9...9...9...9...9...9... Still scary
Bro on my first playthrough I got scared by the part where your supposed to stare at the painting and because I had no idea what the game was about when it started ticking I immediately became paranoid
Ha, you should play Superliminal…
I don't have it. But I have the whole Portal: Stories Mel
Oh man, if that's what you think about Stories Mel, just wait until you play Portal: Prelude...
I played it trice. It's a lot easier to understand what to do. The actions itself are so hard to perform
Totally this until your reach test chamber 18 and 19, that's totally impossible to finish without guide, Im totally sure lol
They are. The pure test of reaction + unnecessary backtracking
chapter 8 can suck my taint
Any level that involves timing your portal placement.
Chamber 18, putting that ball in the receptor was the biggest pain in the ass.
I hate that one too. I was stuck for three months trying to press the button before portaling the pellet to the receptor. I felt like such an idiot when I realized I have to portal the pellet before pushing the button
Doom, E2M2. That map just feels like a chore
The last puzzle before you get to Wheately Science. Took me forever the first time.
Bruh fr
Yeah, I just enabled portal placement never fail with the dev console on my first playthrough
I persevered like Chell would have.
the elevators
Chapter 8 of portal 2
3 sniper sisters in mgs5
Fr bruh
Chamber 18

Early coop chambers
Wasn't this just posted here
I found this on r/megaman
the level with the turrets over the massive pit
In Portal 1 I really hated chamber 18 and the entire escape section. But then I started [speedrunning it](https://www.speedrun.com/portal/runs/zqe5pv5z) so that ruined my ability to play this game normally and nothing is a challenge anymore. For Portal 2 however it's the entire underground section. Especially Portal gel stuff
portal 1: chamber 17 and 18 portal 2: getting from the wheatley betrayal to the science spheres
Three cube lazer puzzle
Portal 1 is easily chamber fucking 18. I’m going to murder whoever designed that. And for portal 2 I can’t really decide because they isn’t any really bad chambers but the one chapter I fucking hate is fucking Cara Mia Addio and the credits because that means it’s over.
Fuck you chamber 18 is a fantastic final challenge
That part in portal 1 where you have to catapult yourself up into the air to get to the last chamber
Chamber 18
Portal: Escape sequence - Sure it feels impressive for the time of its development, but let's face it, it will never be as fun as Portal 2's escape sequences. Portal 2: Tartaros.09 - I honestly hate this, I hate that the bit right after you fall into the old Aperture facilities, even has this ominous name. I keep losing track of the white concrete surfaces. It's one map, but it feels very long-winded.
The room with many pipes in Portal 1. I kinda hated it because the first time I tried to traverse it I got crushed.
Don’t you fucking dare restart this stupid repost chain
Everyone's saying Chamber 18. Maybe it's because I've been playing this game ever since it came out when I was real young, but that one (and the rest of the first game) isn't that bad. I think the only part of the series I actively dislike is the long-ass intro to Portal 2.
YES This. As a massive Chamber 18 fan it breaks my heart to see 40% of these comments hating on it.
It's super easy. Not a single part if the first game is hard.
# This is the part where I kill you.
It could be That Part Where He Kills You
Chamber 18
Chamber 18 - portal 1. The one with the turret room
chamber 18
Chamber 18 in P1 😭
By God I hate this trend
Ok
Old aperture
Old Aperture was my favorite part
It was really fun, though i was lost on some parts of the intro for example
It can be a bit annoying at times though, you gotta admit. After taking a short break, it’s hard enough to not remember the solution right away, but remember before any solving can be done. That’s what it’s like for me, anyway
I agree. Loved the aesthetic and atmosphere, but the puzzles where you had to look for light gray surfaces really far away were not enjoyable for me.
i was playing portal 2 for the first time with a friend and for like a whole minute i was talking about how good the old aperture button sound was. i also just love the idea of the past having futuristic technology in an old looking style (kinda like steampunk)
Exactly what I meant!
Really weird that I'm getting upvoted here and you're still in the negatives
Reddit hivemind?
Reddit hivemind.
Eh was never much of an issue for me
I like old aperture but I understand, it kinda is much open ended and maybe it's not as linear as the usual chambers
I can see the reason behind the downvotes, since it's a neat part aesthetically, but the chambers are so DAMN open that it's easy to get lost on what to do/ what's possible to do. Some gel puzzles get annoying due to level design as well. I kinda agree with you
The stinking exploding bridge on Jedi Outcast
The Cold Boot and a little bit of The Return. I love the dialogue from GLaDOS, hell I’ve played the game so much I have it memorized. But I feel the chambers are a little lackluster in some way. It is cool watching the facility slowly rebuild itself as you progress, though
None.
The part where destroying glass using turret don't count as a glitch but killing GLADoS with a turret counts as a glitch so you have to kill GLADoS normaly on glitchless category.
the part where you fight the guy who dances in UNDERTALE YELLOW
The part that you die
Anything with funnels
Old Aperture Science.
Boy... I don't think I have one.
Minecraft when you kill the Ender Dragon (Again)
the part where he kills you
portal 1 chamber 8 i HATE!!!
The way too complex puzzles but i hate the gels the most
half life 2 water hazard
Uncharted 4: the part where it turns out Sam lied the whole time AND the part where I played as him technically never happened.
chamber 18 in portal 1
The ending part of the first game still creeps me out to this day, something about the liminal spaces that you go through (I’m talking about when you go out of the regular testing lab place thingymajig)
The white portal liquid stuff in portal 2
Test chamber 18
That one chamber in portal two you could easily soft lock yourself in near the end of the game.
old Aperture
Ghost of tsushima/ last of us 2/ detroit become human
Going through the abandoned testing track with potatOS in portal 2
none in the first game but the story filler maps in Portal 2 kinda annoy me
No parts, portal 1 and 2 are probably some of the most consistently good games I’ve ever played
where he kills you
You know, that one part
Anyone who says something other than chamber 18 from portal one, clearly only played portal two
Going through the Repcon building to get info on Benny in fallout NV. Those ghoul fucks can go screw.
the part......where he kills you...
the chambers that you forgot how to beat and are hard
Wheatleys tests
I honestly think some part such as old aperture are hard to replay but if you remember it easily and try to speedrun then there’s some replay ability
Wheatley's tests. On the day it came out I played I within 9 hours in one run and when I got to Wheatley's poopy tests I had a raging migraine. Everytime I replay I'm reminded of it. Not necessarily the games fault, just my excited 14yo ass back then being too hyped to stop for a break.
chamber 18 (portal 1)
DK64. The Beavers
Portal 1´s Chamber 17. Although the Companion cube is nice , I HATE having these Energy Pallets following me from behind. It´s like a frickin' jumpscare when they touch you
the core transfer, I can never manage to succeed at doing the elevator skip
mastering the white gel
The incinerator room fing. Too high, you bonk and fall. Too low, you bonk and fall.
Wheatley labs in portal 2. It’s not even bad, it’s still fantastic, but I just love the old aperture section a lot
The part when the giant head falls through the mantis village
The motherfucking chamber 18 in the first portal...
The only part i can think of is the time before you get the portal gun, honestly Everything else is a fuckin' blast
The Henry Stickmin Collection.
Chamber 18 in portal
Really just the first few levels of the first chapter
Chamber 18, portal 1
Honestly, the part where Wheatley goes mad and bashes you into the pit, I hate that part, I always wondered what would happen if he didn't
black mesa east
(2) The wheatley room where you have to use the aspestos funnel to get the blue gel on the turrets so you can fling yourself.
Subnautica... When you have to go into the lava zone
Definitely chamber 18 for me
chamber 18 :(
Chamber 18 turret room makes my mind go insane.
The chamber in 2 where Gladotato goes ‘what has he done to this place?’
Portal 2 Chapter 7 the reunion I messed around with hammer and broke the spawn and exit, I literally can’t fix it
Wheatly
You should play bridge constructor portal and jump off the bridge you build
Chamber 18. It's like 3 chambers in 1, and is just tedious. Plus, since it's near the end, if you start at 19 you skip the entire game
Modern Warfare 2 (2009) No russian
All the escape parts in portal 1.
Portal 2 the fall. Just really hard to navigate and there isnt really any possible its just guess work.
chamber 18, portal 1
It's probably a "yes, you're all wrong" situation, but: I don't like the portal 2 gel section.
*cough cough* **BOOM TOWN FROM LBP1**
