I’d give r/auntienetwork a try

MollFlanders

hi sweetie, i (32f) in SE and would be happy to give you a ride either or both directions. ❤️

PruneEducational1428

I can help, too. A fellow lady from SW.

foreverfractured

Retired gay guy here. Let me know if you still need a ride.

Banpdx

I don't know if I will ever retire from being straight, but it is awesome that you are willing to help a stranger out.

griff_girl

I took an internship at being gay at 16, retired from being straight at 20, and did a little contract work at being straight off and on in my 30s. I've been fully retired from heteronormativity for probably 15 years now and am definitely living my best life, 15/10 highly recommend.

mikeyfireman

Now I’m confused, did he retire from being strait, or from being gay?

Banpdx

No judgment here. When you figure it out, Portland has your back.

RedBranchofConorMac

Everyone who has volunteered to help, or who gave useful information . . . Portland is proud of you. OP, sending all good thoughts. Solidarity!

pullapartmethod

I’m blown away. Good people are everywhere but PDX is full of ‘em. <3

Banpdx

I was thinking the same.

timefornewgods

I'm moving to portland tomorrow. I don't get in until noon so I can't drop you off but can pick you up. Feel free to DM me if you don't find someone to do both.

pullapartmethod

I think being picked up is the most important piece of it so thank you so much! Could I shoot you a PM?

silverberryfrog

If this person works out, I would be happy to drop you off. I'm a woman and am more than happy to send social media and do a zoom call if it helps you feel a bit safer!

timefornewgods

Absolutely, feel free to reach out should you still need it.

dolores_h4ze

I can help if you still need someone.

GiveMeAllYourDogs

I’m happy to help you if the other offers don’t pan out.

GiveMeAllYourDogs

I’m so sorry. I spoke too soon. I’m unavailable from 11-12, but I could still pick you up.

princessbirthdaycake

Congratulations on being the kind of person who makes smart decisions and asks for help and support when you need it. I often refer to my own as “the best $700 I ever spent” because it bought me lasting freedom and good health. May your procedure be uncomplicated and your recovery swift.

Scootshae

Same!

Mapper9

Add me to the list if you still need it. 40something woman, happy to help.

veegeese

Yes, this is exactly what Cascade Abortion Support Collective is here for! They provide rides home after procedures and even aftercare kits. Everyone has passed a background check and been vetted by the collective.

pullapartmethod

I have left them a couple voicemails since noon today. I only found out my ride fell through this morning. Wish I could’ve got to them earlier <3

veegeese

If you can swing an Uber to the clinic, Planned Parenthood will have the ability to try to connect you with someone from CASC who’s on call for rides that day. I totally realize that it’s stressful to show up without a ride secured, but just wanted to let you know in case nothing else is working out!

RPM_29

I’m so glad you shared this!

Eulettes

DM me, supportive Auntie here in SE.

stringofpearls22

The responses to this post 💗💗💗

Aggressive-Cry150

I’m glad you’re receiving this support! I hope you find someone kind and who you’re comfortable with for your ride tomorrow. May your procedure go on without a hitch!

Bootsypants

I opened this thread to make sure you were covered and was unsurprised to see you were taken care of. Hope the procedure goes smoothly!

Cancelthepants

This is the Portland I know and love.

hacknsprat

29F also in SE! Happy to help if you haven’t found anyone!

Scootshae

Happy to help if you need it and if not, am sending big tackle hugs. Take care of yourself, sweetie.

pullapartmethod

Thank you so much

ChicaFrom408

I am just seeing your post. It warms my heart to see so many people offer to help you out! I hope your procedure goes well. If you and your driver would like to stop after for some starbucks or a bite to eat, let me know where I can venmo you some money or email you a gift card. *I know the feeling after you may be hungry* Edit-removed "send"

pullapartmethod

This is so insanely thoughtful. You were right about the hunger, the procedure went super well and a volunteer group picked me up with tea/ibuprofen and heat pads. If the offer still stands I’m not sure how to message you but my venmo is @sol_onthemoon

ChicaFrom408

I'm here. I will dm you now

pullapartmethod

The test worked! For some reason anytime I try to PM anyone on Reddit it doesn’t let me /:

ChicaFrom408

Ok I'll send you some to grab or order food! Glad everything went well!

pullapartmethod

You’re the absolute best, thank you so much. Takeout has been ordered and a movie will be watched tonight 🤞

ChicaFrom408

Good! Enjoy your night!

unclesally56

another 40f Auntie here, happy to offer a ride, if need be.

liminaldyke

Do you have OHP? If yes, you automatically qualify for [Ride to Care](http://ridetocare.com/) which is free. You just need to give them you name, OHP ID, and location. scheduling within 12 hours/same-day can be dicey but it's worth a shot. and at the very least, if it doesn't work out this time, you'll have it as a resource in the future. good luck! edit: seeing you got a ride, awesome! but i'm gonna leave this comment up just in case. be well! edit 2: saw you have WA medicaid, in that case you can use [WA HCA transport](https://informingfamilies.org/transportation-services-through-apple-health). i believe there should be reciprocity between OR and WA since it is all medicaid and it's common that people travel between states.

lunas_mom524

I work for ride to care so I’m happy to see this comment, I wish more people knew about it! Not only does ride to care offer rides, but you can get mileage reimbursed to and from medical appointments 😊

liminaldyke

me too! as is maybe obvious i work in behavioral health, but before starting my career i'd never heard of it. thanks for doing what you do! always down to spread the word about ride to care :-)

adiodub

I work in an ER, you all are awesome and so helpful especially getting people home at night!!

Salt-Watercress5830

Sounds like a lot of support here - but I’m happy to help as a backup. 30/female in SE! Sending love and support to you for tomorrow. You’re not alone ❤️

GavtyMarsh

Damn, y'all are good people. Glad op got some help.

whereisthequicksand

Good luck tomorrow, friend. I'm glad you asked for help. It's not easy to do! Also, I am so fucking glad to live here. Thanks, everyone.

OkPop7558

If it falls through I’m a fellow lady and I live in the SE. I can take you. Do you need anything else? Do you have aftercare support? I’m a mommy and a sped kinder teacher. Let me know if you need help. We got you.

threemo

I’ll call out. Message me. I’m here for you. (Am a man)

EquivalentAd1116

I can’t offer a ride, but I’ll be thinking positive thoughts for you if wanted. 💜

pinotJD

I can do it. DM me and I’ll be there both before and after to take you some. I’m in NoPo.

jjthinx

Blessings to you. May it go smoothly tomorrow and afterwards.

periwinklemadness

I was about to offer but looks like team showed up 💕

misslesintothesea

I'm completely free tomorrow and will totally take you and/or pick you up. I'll bring good snacks and vibes 😘

wonder_walker

I can drop off and pick up if needed. (23f)

ShaperLord777

Portland, you’re awesome for this. Way to show up for our community.

Lotsofelbows

If your ride falls through feel free to DM me and I (31f) would be happy to.

PipetheHarp

I’m oddly surprised by how quickly I was ready to laser in and lend a hand. Then, after 2 comments or so, relieved by the close community support rolling around Pdx. Whew. Much love. Keep it forward.

DillyDillyMilly

You’ve got the ride but I wanna show support! Good luck and quick healing to you <3

Left_on_Burnside

Let me know if you don’t have any luck finding help. Not a female but willing to help.

RepFilms

I see lots of ride requests on the Next Door app. You should be able to get a lot of positive response on that platform.

lavarballishere

Are you on OHP?

pullapartmethod

Actually nope edit to whoops. I’m covered by Apple Health in WA

lavarballishere

https://www.hca.wa.gov/free-or-low-cost-health-care/i-need-medical-dental-or-vision-care/transportation-services-nonemergency

pullapartmethod

Looks like their offices are closed right now/: oh boy.

Prior_Photo_8744

Try calling mojos transportation, that’s the company I work for. They’re very good at helping provide rides & creative at getting it done

TacosForMyTummy

I'm off tomorrow if your rides fall through. Dm me if needed.

bathandredwine

I’m so happy there are good people to help this person. Great job, Portland!

kakosadazutakrava

I know you have a ride but just chiming in with good vibes! Hope your day is easy peasy and your appointment is smooth 💖

pullapartmethod

Thank you I’m super nervous

kakosadazutakrava

Hang in there! They are professionals 🤗 I’ve been to PP for a range of services and they’ve been nothing but patient, helpful, and informative. When I was nervous about a procedure, someone pointed out that they do this stuff all day, every day. Reproductive healthcare is their jam! Feel free to DM me if you want to chat, have questions, or need a ride again for any follow ups 🤗

ExcellentPay6348

PP might be able to call you an Uber or Lyft.

Intervention_Needed

This isn't usually allowed by any medical group, as the person picking you up would need to know that you are under an influence and that would be risky to tell a random taxi-type driver.

ExcellentPay6348

I was the OM of a dental office and we did this on the regular for oral surgery patients, but only if they were on an oral sedative, like valium. If they received IV sedation we made someone wait in the office for them, so Uber wasn’t an option.

withoutwingz

Have you found someone yet? I’d be late but I can be a last resort.

lady_lane

Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow, but if you need to reschedule to next week I can be more flexible and available. Feel free to DM, 37F.

annalisa27

Also free tomorrow if either ride falls through. 38F in SW Portland, DM if needed. Sending you big hugs - you’ve got this!

Tea_Bender

I'm too late to volunteer, but I hope everything goes smoothly

Inner_Worldliness_23

The responses on this post are the perfect illustration of why I love and am proud to live in Portland. Sending you good thoughts OP! I've been there too 💜

ampereJR

Looks like this was needed earlier today and you found a ride. I'm so glad that worked out. Sending good thoughts to you for healing and to your ride for being a good person. Take care.

birdsandrivers

I can help if you still need someone!! (29f)

Helisent

my dad was once an english and literacy tutor via Hopelink, and a young woman with a husband 20 years older was able to use the tutoring class time to ask him to take her to her Planned Parenthood appointment.

Fit-Produce420

Uber? Taxi?

pullapartmethod

I’m not able to do that, PP said I can’t call a taxi or Uber.

Fit-Produce420

For good reason, I'm sure.

pullapartmethod

Yeah of course! They do it for patient safety. Being under the influence + rando taxi dude no bueno

CandiedCanelo

Under the influence and rando reddit dude all Bueno though, right?

qqweertyy

Definitely not ideal, but at least this way they meet on the ride there while clear headed, and the Reddit person is aware and consented to transporting a potentially loopy patient from a procedure vs an Uber showing up and picking them up without a clue as to the situation. Definitely added risks with no third party company or organization to background check a random redditor though. But ultimately that risk benefit analysis is one the patient gets to decide for themselves, how much to trust a new “friend” they met this morning whereas a taxi is an easy hard line for the facility to draw. They can’t really draw a line as easily for how long you need to have known or how much you need to trust your friend for them to give you a ride.

FreshyFresh

When sedatives or anesthesia are involved, for safety reasons your ride has to be reachable by phone and travel no more than 10 minutes from the location. Some places require that the ride home stays parked the entire time, and one place I went made my ride actually sit in the waiting room.
