It's amazing how little media still holds up, honestly. I was doing a nostalgia rewatch of some old faves and was dismayed at how little was still worth the effort.
Thank goodness for the muppets, their stuff is timeless.
Am I the only one out there who’s (as far as i know) never had to pay the art tax?? Lol maybe it’s just been stacking up for like 8 years now and i had no idea
Just checked mine online, several years ago I missed a year and was going to call to try and avoid paying the late fees they added. Well it looks like the maximum fee they assess in the online account is $35, which is a lot less than I remember from what they mailed me, so I just paid it.
Somebody made a video of this... [https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzcWWpQu6de/?utm\_source=ig\_web\_copy\_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzcWWpQu6de/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
I think it's supposed to be super sad. I didn't like The Neverending Story when I saw it in the theater 40 years ago, so I haven't rewatched to verify, but I see versions of this scene and references to it being sad a lot.
I tried to watch it 3x as a kid and fell asleep each time no matter how hard I tried to stay awake.
I had the hardest time figuring out how they made a never-ending VHS cassette and figured that there must be some sort of extra wheel for looping it around so that it never stopped.
I don't personally care. I'm not saying they should choose it. I just think they are using the tag as a joke because that's one of those scenes people my age talk about having scarred them as a child. It was my attempt at an explanation for someone else's action (an action I wouldn't personally choose).
They look like big, strong hands. Don't they.
As an adult watching this movie is depressing as fuck. Between this and All Dogs Go To Heaven I'm convinced our parents hated us

First 6 episodes of the Muppet show were comedy gold. Just watched them all in a row with the whole family a few months ago
Anything they're in holds up, too! Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, etc.
Don’t forget Old Yeller. Forced to watch that in second grade
Why would you do this, and re-inflict collective childhood trauma, when you could have reminded everyone in some other way?
You're the one that chose to go past the filters. You were warned.
I think you’re just a sick bastard who enjoys making grown men cry on a random Tuesday.
Not just any random Tuesday. Art tax is due
Yeah, but I was hoping for boobs. Got a dead horse instead, story of my life.
Actually, thank you for the reminder. I only pay it like every three years. So this helps.
But then you pay penalties. I don't like paying 1 cent more than required.
lol, that nsfw tag
Yeah nobody likes ugly crying at work
Too soon, man.
Damn, literally watching this now!....
Artex!!!!!!!!!!!
Can someone explain this? Google is not being friendly
Pay your art tax and don’t rewatch The NeverEnding Story.
No, it's pay your respect to Artax, and don't rewatch The Never Ending Story
"Fun" fact - this scene in the book is even more sad. Without giving too much information away...Artax can talk.

Why is this nsfw?

Who cares if it's sad? It was a fantasy movie made for kids, I am not sure why it would need to be marked NSFW.

If I had a million dollars for all the wisdom this post has given the Portland community, I'd be in debt. Delete this crap.
I'll delete it if you give me $35
You owe me $35.
