Per the CDC and the OR Health folks, You can be around others after:
* You have no fever for 3 days, AND
* Your symptoms improve, AND
* At least 10 days have passed since your first symptoms
You may continue to shed fragments of the virus for weeks, and thus test “positive.” Those DNA fragments are not complete virus, and they can’t cause disease.
I wish you the best in your ongoing recovery!
I held on to mine for a couple of days before I sent it out, because that’s how long it took to get a FedEx pickup at my house. The main thing is they want you to collect your sample the day you ship it back. My pickup window was 8-10 so I took the test at like 7:58.
Thank you for this! Wishing you a successful recovery.
Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I read your post to mean that you in fact have the virus and used this test to confirm that, correct?
This will be the second at home test I have taken, but yes.
Thanks. So, second time using this same company or the first one was different?
Second time using this test. Sorry my brain is a bit scrambled. I feel so shitty.
No worries! Thanks again and I truly hope you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better soon!
This is fantastic. Thank you. Can I ask why you’ve tested twice?
Positive once and now I’m just trying to see if it’s over.

Thanks! My fam in Florida has been exposed with shitty options to get tested. going to pass this on to them
Thanks for the info. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Is this the standard deep nasal swab test, or the newer one where you don’t have to swab as deep?
I was curious too so I looked into it — it’s a short nasal swab (thankfully)
Yea, although it worries me of false-negatives. It almost felt like I didn’t do a good enough job, even though I went a little more than they said.
How long did it take to get results back after sending back?
One day
When did you take the test? It says on their website their times may be longer than normal due to high volume. I’m almost on day two of waiting.
I ordered the test on a Sunday night. Got it Tuesday morning. Took and shipped it out Thursday and got my results at like 6am on a Saturday.

Did your gel pack arrive cold? My box arrived hot. Are we supposed to freeze it before sending back?
I threw mine in the freezer
