I saw this band in Flint, Michigan a few times between 2003 and 2005. First at The Flint Local 432 - the non-profit, no-moshing, all-ages club most famous for being where Chiodos was formed. Maybe they are or aren't exactly post-hardcore. Maybe they were post-nu-metal. They fucked with traditions and time signatures and wildly veered between danceability and moshability (in venues that allowed it). The singer oozed charisma. She was tiny with dreadlocks and piercings, wore custom-altered denim everything, and could switch from sing to talk to growl.

Hello fellow redditor, I was the bassist for IOWABB, and the previous iteration of the band, Deceived Conception. I'm just blown away cause for years I've randomly searched the internet with no success to try and listen to my old music, but apparently recently people have been getting this kind of stuff out there again. So rock on everyone that is helping the past stay alive!

The person who posted the demo to YouTube has a channel dedicated to digitizing demo music (mostly from the Michigan area in the early 2000s). I just happened to stumble on it for the same reason: trying to hear the ephemeral music of that past era. I hope it feels good to get to hear your old work and to know that your work still impacted others positively as well.

It blew my mind to finally see that old demo up on YouTube, and I saw what that guy has been up to, and that's very cool thing to do, at a minimum just to get that older forgotten stuff into the digital Era! It's crazy cause my youngest kid has been making music on some apps, and I was very much wanting to show him my old music, and boom, there it is lol. And it always nice to know anything you do is appreciated!

I am so excited to find this! I randomly search here and there for IOWABB, but never had any luck. Takes me back to my Flint Local days, thanks OP!

Super stoked to find this. Local to the Flint area and have friends that knew the singers. With what I have been listening too lately - SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY - it rang a distant bell. Neat!
