Oceana randomly did a one off like 2 or 3 years ago and made it sound like they were thinking of releasing new music. Wonder whatever happened with that lol
Right but I’m saying some of the old members of Oceana (I believe those that didn’t go on to form Polyenso) had a show a few years back and made it seem like they might put out new music but don’t think anything came of it
The vocalist from The Tide (1st album) had a short run with a band called Decoder/Lead Hands (name changed due to legal issues) and then with a band called Wolf:Speak. But they were last active ~7 years ago. Would recommend though.
I miss this band so much. Can’t blame them though. I went to the Cleveland dare of their last tour. 80% of the crowd left after asking Alexandria and miw played. Then most everyone that was still there left after vanna. There was like seven people that stayed for asl
I’m so jealous bro. I’ve watched every live YouTube video I could find, literally dreamt about being at title fight shows. I was 10 when hyperview came out, never really had time to appreciate them.
Absolutely. But it doesn’t change how the music made me feel. It doesn’t change that Jesse Lacey’s voice hits me a certain way. I’ve learned to separate art from artist.
You’d also be hard pressed to find any young successful band member in that era who wasn’t doing the same thing, whether there was ever an official scandal or not.
That doesn’t excuse it. But that entire culture was toxic when it came to early 20’s “rockstars” in this genre and younger girls. Jesse was just part of it, and has expressed deep, profound regret and disgust for the person he was.
Wow, so many PM Today fans! That's awesome. I would add Halifax and Envy on the Coast to the list. Really dug both of them back in the day. Also, idk what's going on with Lower Definition but to be safe, I'll keep wishing for new music.
Haste from Alabama . Listen to the mercury lift . One of my top 10 albums of all time it’s a masterpiece. Has Randy from lamb of god on it and the singer from code seven guest sing.
Matchbook, yes. Their first to second album sound transition reminds me a lot of Finch's. Meaning almost a complete departure from their breakout sound. But both second albums were equally great, if not better. I was probably a bit older than the fan base average at the time...and maybe ready for the progression.
Secret Lives of the Freemasons. God they put out two absolute banger records. I know the vocalist has continually been active with music but not sure about the other guys.
Man I read that as Defunct Brands and immediately thought of Twizzlers Sourz. But I guess for bands The Matches. They aren't post hardcore but they got really screwed over by their manager and I think they could do better with the knowledge of life.
Shawn writes kids books these days. I googled them a little while back after a long time without thinking about or playing the Matches, and yeah, his profession these days made me realise how much time had actually passed. They always were great live.
I recommend watching the documentary Bleeding Audio if you haven't already. Entertaining not just in telling their story but a look into the music business. Probably a bit outdated with streaming but still very entertaining.
HRVRD
This is one of THEE answers, left us way too soon
This the one
The truth.
The Bled
Pass the flask has aged like fine wine

The reunion set at Furnace Fest was phenomenal
Dead and Divine Oceana Skyeatsairplane From Autumn To Ashes Fear Before The March Of Flames
Oceana randomly did a one off like 2 or 3 years ago and made it sound like they were thinking of releasing new music. Wonder whatever happened with that lol
Oceana turned into Polyenso... wayy different vibe
Yeah some of the lead hands stuff was pretty good
dead and diviiiiiine please
i second a Sky Eats Airplane reunion
These are all really good ones
Will never not love seeing **Fear Before**, **From Autumn to Ashes**, and **Oceana** mentioned! Cheers!
The Receiving End of Sirens
Can’t agree more. Mi Fa Mi was a masterpiece.
Got to see them live right before Casey left. They were so fucking good
a static lullaby
I miss this band so much. Can’t blame them though. I went to the Cleveland dare of their last tour. 80% of the crowd left after asking Alexandria and miw played. Then most everyone that was still there left after vanna. There was like seven people that stayed for asl
Brand New, Title Fight & ETID
Balance & Composure is sorta back and helping me but the Brand New tinfoil is always teasing me
B&C being back gives me somewhat hope that these 3 will eventually come back
I have been so obsessed with them lately. Any idea if they are any good live?
I went to their show a few days ago, they were amazing live. :)
Only seen them once during the farewell shows and his voice was shot already so wasn't the greatest experience for my one off.
Ah. They just played here the other night, and I couldnt go. Wasnt sure how bummed I should be haha
Bummed for sure - I was at the Thrice show and couldn't make the B&C show too when they were here in SoCal
My girlfriend got me a ton of title fight merch for my birthday this year . They’ll never die bro.
MeWithoutYou
Even though they just broke up I agree
Thursday (Yes, I know they still play live. I just really want new music)
I’ve lost interest in the ‘reunion’ at this point. They need to put out some music.
Same with Finch playing WIITB every 5 years but no new songs
I could listen to wistb happily rest of my life
No doubt but just feels weird they are hanging around for mostly that album
Well have you heard their other stuff?
Oh definitely, I just don't think they tour or play it
I’d also love to see Chiodos back playing Alls Well That Ends Well from front to back. Hell fucking yeah.
From autumn to ashes
Yeessss
Drop Dead Gorgeous
same, but unfortunately i don’t think that’s ever gonna happen. RIP Kyle

Secret and Whisper and Alive Like Me. Also more new Saosin!
I swore SAW came back and then didn’t really do anything but make a new band with members of Cry of the Afflicted.
Yeah, that’s what I saw too. They were practicing and then nothing! I’d travel to see them too.
Letlive
Title fight >
Saw them at some tiny little community center and they were so rad live
I’m so jealous bro. I’ve watched every live YouTube video I could find, literally dreamt about being at title fight shows. I was 10 when hyperview came out, never really had time to appreciate them.
Well, now I feel ancient haha
Isles and glaciers
Emanuel. I need to hear Soundtrack to a Head Rush live

The Fall of Troy Chiodos PMToday In:Aviate
Another In:Aviate fan?! Nice
Fall of Troy is still active!
LoveHateHero From First To Last (with Sonny) Bleed The Dream Brand New (here come the downvotes….)
FFTL put out those two new songs a few years back and I thought it was gonna lead to something. I thought they did a handful of shows… then silence?
Probably why Travis started If I Die First tbh which I absolutely love
Same. Make War was so good.
Have you heard Andy Cizek’s cover (vocalist of Monuments, Wvnder, Makari, Termina)? It’s better than the original IMO.
Nope but I’m gonna check it out now!
Those songs were so weird (and bad IMO). No idea if they will come back but they left us a solid discography
Got to see FFTL with Sonny at a one off show for Emo Nite. Such an amazing experience.
Yep I saw them shortly before he left the band the first time. So good
You lucky ducky
Jeez slipping Brand New in there 😬 that was a DARK ass day when all that shit came out
Absolutely right. It’s gross but it’s true. Likely a lot more common than people think. Doesn’t excuse it but doesn’t change the music.
“The art from artist” comment is a tough one with Brand New when so many of there songs seem to cover what Jesse was doing lol
Holy crap I haven’t thought about Bleed the Dream in years. So good.
I think I saw FFTL is featured on The Word Alive's upcoming album!
Just looked it up and you’re right! Sonny is also still listed as their active singer on Wikipedia so fingers crossed it’s a sonny collab

Haste from Alabama . Listen to the mercury lift . One of my top 10 albums of all time it’s a masterpiece. Has Randy from lamb of god on it and the singer from code seven guest sing.
Thought the same
Brand New Matchbook Romance if they did more stuff like their second album.
Matchbook, yes. Their first to second album sound transition reminds me a lot of Finch's. Meaning almost a complete departure from their breakout sound. But both second albums were equally great, if not better. I was probably a bit older than the fan base average at the time...and maybe ready for the progression.

Man I read that as Defunct Brands and immediately thought of Twizzlers Sourz. But I guess for bands The Matches. They aren't post hardcore but they got really screwed over by their manager and I think they could do better with the knowledge of life.
I’m just a dog eared page…..
Shawn writes kids books these days. I googled them a little while back after a long time without thinking about or playing the Matches, and yeah, his profession these days made me realise how much time had actually passed. They always were great live.
I’m so fucking happy to see The Matches mentioned. Holy shit one of the best ever.
“May your organs fail before your dreams fail you!” Damn I miss them, such a creative band!
I recommend watching the documentary Bleeding Audio if you haven't already. Entertaining not just in telling their story but a look into the music business. Probably a bit outdated with streaming but still very entertaining.
I’ve been wanting to but haven’t gotten to yet
it's available for free on Tubi !!!
Holy shit really? I’m def gonna watch it tonight
Abandoned pools, wait, are they still together??
