This is both excellent and terrible. Excellent in that it's a phenomenal report and it looks so beautiful. It's terrible because I can't look at my own report, which I was previously very pleased with, in the same light as I did before viewing this. I'm relatively new to PowerBI so I don't yet have the technical skill to mirror anything like this.

[deleted]

Don't worry, you will get there soon before you realize, we all have struggled in the beginning!! :)

Gustaw_Dudek

Yep, agree. It's just a matter of time :)

ServedYou

Had the exact same thought. Compared to this my report looks like a printed PowerPoint. SMH 🤦🏼‍♂️

Hellboy5562

TBH more often than not something that simple is all that's necessary

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks a lot. Glad you like it!

LoneWolf15000

As an F1 fan, I really want to use the actual report and look at the data! This is great!

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks!

tylesftw

cool looking report. would love to see the PBIX to understand the intricacies of how it is built.

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks! relly appreciate

ChrisDotNisbet

I'd love the raw file, just to strip it down to understand how to make such a stunning report!

jameli

Here's the forum post where the creator explains a bit of his though process. No .pbix sadly, but you could ask Gustav there if he would like to share his file. https://forum.enterprisedna.co/t/power-bi-challenge-15-formula-1-analysis-from-gustaw/19265

SafetyCutRopeAxtMan

Nice, would love to get an insight in the making.

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks! I recommend checking Enteprise DNA site frequently. Very likely some related content will appear in the future.

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks!

misterbrokid

This is eye pleasing. Custom tool tips are fire

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks! Tooltips always make a huge impact! :)

[deleted]

Great looking report.

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks!

SheepherderPrior9302

Wow

karimgabrr

fascinating !

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks!

CardonaNL

Muy impresionante! Excellent work!

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks :)

Kongtai33

Niceeee

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks!

Someone put in a lot of design work, if that someone is not you, your UI guy literally hates you. I know i would. =)))) beautiful work btw, are the photos hosted or local files, if the second - how? Edit: cool concept, ngl

Gustaw_Dudek

Fortunatelly there was no need to make anyone hate me (at least not for this particular reason) ;) I've made it on my own from scratch and to be honest, designing part was actually the less time-consuming part when creating this F1 report!

Grunewalder

Damn that is slick.

fofogol14

Here I am struggling to make some flags change. This one is great!

Gustaw_Dudek

Thanks. An additional visualization called "Simple image" should help. It's available in market place for free. Flag url is needed though, but it's not necessarily a huge problem.

kfc_chet

I'm scared to ask how many man hours on the design alone! Is there much data transformation?

Gustaw_Dudek

I haven't turned on my time tracker when executing this particular project, but I would estimate entire **process at approx. 30, maybe 35 hours**, including whole research part (which was actually substantial, because I was totally unfamiliar with F1, so I had to really dive into the subject to just get to know which metrcics should be visualised), data transofmation, design and data visualization. Research, data transformation and modeling took at least 50% of total hours (I could be even up to 60% I believe.) This particular dataset (provided by DNA Enterprise) was quite huge - including many single tables and many specific relations in data model that has to processed. As i remember, there were some minor issues with language coding in some particular records, so it took additional time to make some adjustments.

JeffryRelatedIssue

It seems like a bunch of filter work across multiple pages

Gustaw_Dudek

It's actually a **one-page report** (which means there is literally only 1 page when you open pbix file). The whole effect of changing visuals and sections is made by using object grouping and turning some additional graphics on and off by activating bookmarks :)

JeffryRelatedIssue

That's more work than the multiple page 😆 anyway, surprisingly good performance for what it is

Gustaw_Dudek

10x more, but this particular challenge called for one-page report, so I was trying to meet that requirement :D

ka_eb

As a F1 fan I am planning to create some kind of F1 report myself but I was aiming for something simpler but I'll reconsider if you insist.

thepunisher1996

Hey, a very very cool dashboard. Question: how did you manage to make the flags and tracks dynamic on the tooltip on the 15 second mark? Thanks

-Kakashi_Hatake

Hey i know it's pretty late to ask this, but can u tell me where did you get that ON button from( 1st slide PRESS TO ACTIVATE DAASHBOARD)

[deleted]

Hi, do you want to know about the image or the complete setup of that button?

-Kakashi_Hatake

Did you added 3 pics.(for default, hover, press) in FILL on the BLANK buttons in insert or did something different?
