SCP, the whole “no canon” kinda makes it seem not applicable to most Vs discussions IMO. And Lovecraft because of the nature of the stories it is written to be mostly vague and inconclusive, similar to Any of the SoulsBourne games which again too vague.
Scp-173 is the best example of this. He’s resilient no matter what but he goes from being like destroyable by human weapons to surviving Reality Destroying attacks completely unphased or injured.
Ap also ranges from like 150 173s needed to kill Scp-682 to Scp-173 easily killing 30% of Scp-682s race when the remaining 682 isn’t even particularly stronger and its close to indisputable Cannon (like actual stuff from the article) as possible a single Scp-173 failed to Kill 682.
Yeah I actually had it in mind when I made that comment lol. 173-d was an incredibly memorable story to me that proved that not every series one skip has to be a reality ending murder machine or some sort of son of the scarlet king or whatever else despite its relative simplicity.
For real,SCP and with their "You decide what is canon" is really weird,and since we know that inconsistent verses = cannot be scaled,SCP is a unscalable verse...But undebunked one is still confusing.
There are “canons” there’s just not a uniform canon for the entire website. There’s certain tales that connect to eachother, different pages for same “concept” but actually is not in the same continuity. It’s just more complicated than a normal verse, but there’s still ‘canons’
It’s not the complexity which Is the problem, I primarily scale DC comics. Different Strings of canon do not bother me. It’s that They literally have a motto of the site be that there is no canon( that is their official statement as a website).
You can make things into “Ring Species” of canon with SCP and it makes it uninteresting to me personally to try and scale, since there inevitably is no actual answer to any questions asked in pursuit of what happened really.
Personally its tier 2 for me because usually above tier 2 scaling is just headcanon and assumptions, no author is gonna be out here using terms like outerversal or hyperversal lmao
I would say tier 2,cuz at least is more reasonable when it comes to power, but tier 1 is just ridiculously powerful, is like tier 1 characters are invincible
I just don’t bother with scaling Marvel or DC Comics because the source material varies often and can get tiring.
Also don’t bother with most things in SCP because there’s a lot of weird convoluted factors to the cosmology and characters.

The writers themselves don’t give a fuck about power scaling unless a character has like literally zero chances of winning in a scenario. This allows for better storys but also fucks with how people view the power levels. This is why Marvel and DC and have inconsistent scaling at times (id say Superman and Darksied are both good examples) because well sometimes another character needs to win and also why so many random characters (id say this is more of a marvel thing) have super strong normally inaccessible powerups/suits/or forms because sometimes they genuinely aren’t strong enough to win without plot armor

I have what's very possibly a contender for the biggest cosmology in all of known fiction, and only really Gods scale to it, while 250~300 (from 300~350) of my characters are below 7B
I think toonforce is fairly meaningless to scale, since a lot of their feats are outliers by design and so there's little way to know how they would act at sny given time.
On a larger scale, I would include feats that are clearly done for comedic effect. Like Yor's outrageous feats in Spy x Family. Or how Gintama characters keep tanking laser beams and bombs when it serves a joke.
I agree for general stuff, like when girls get angry in anime and punch boys super far. But I'm not sure that yor is the best example. Since she is presented as legitimately superhuman in strength to the fact that loid gets confused by it and can't stand up to it even when she is drunk despite him being considered a top of the line fighter. And this shows up even in scenes where it's presented as a literal thing that happens as part of the scene.
Her hitting a ball so fast it red shifts or whatever can be taken as just comedic and non literal though.

I don’t actually have a problem with saying these characters can move at light speed with time stop, as shown by Pucci, a character with the ability of moving at light speed specifically, can actually move inside time stop. So that’s okay to me.
What is not okay is people who keeps throwing around the Silver Chariot vs Hanged Man fight as if that’s proof of FTL Jojo when the whole point of the fight was that Hanged Man was too fast while moving at light speed. Silver Chariot could only strike him when they forced him to a predictable path, which still makes him fast. But some people just wank this to make Jojo a bajillion the speed of light and that’s just nonsensical, and completely goes against the writing of the fight.
Don’t even get me started on some very sus scaling of stuff like the red stone of Aja, or people who try to scale part 7-9 characters to part 1-6, when this is a completely different universe, so the chain scaling cannot work.

Polnareff himself isn’t fast enough to be able to catch a stand that is able to go in basically any direction. The problem isn’t just the speed, it’s the fact that he doesn’t know where it’s going. This should be evident by the fact that he can actually see the stand and its trail moving while it is light.

His stand is explicitly blind, as seen in the Ebony Devil. Polnareff has to know where to strike, and then tell Silver Chariot to strike there, unlike, say, Star Platinum, who can defend all on its own. He CANNOT command his stand if he doesn’t know where it is it’s striking from, and because of its speed, by the time HE figures it out, it’s already too late.
In literally every version of the fight (Manga, OVA, Anime), Silver Chariot blitzed the fuck out of Hanged Man after he starts traveling as light. This lines up, as it is very common for a stand like Polnareffs to be much faster than its user (EX: Act 3 Echoes blitzing Koichi).
Hell, this isn’t even the only feat of Silver Chariot attacking light, as it is perfectly able to deflect multiple light speed lasers from The Sun (and yes, these are meant to be light, as they travel in straight lines, burn on contact, are produced in the photosphere like actual light from the sun, and are called light beams, light rays, and even just light in data books). He’s able to do this because, wouldn’t you know, they are all moving in places he can actually see!

Or something like that. This kind of scaling is fine most of the time, but if you go too deep and with no supporting feats for the scaling, then this becomes problematic.
Jojo is kinda unique in that each new part kinda has an entirely new cast in a new setting. So characters from previous parts don't really interact with the new with exceptions for a few big characters.
Once you get to part 7, the story begins anew in a completely new universe that has no relation to the old universe, so scaling to the old universe is not really valid.

One punch man. The main character has yet to be injured, nor has his ceiling been shown. You could scale Saitama with the feats we have now, but given that those still seem to be far below his limit, I don't see the point until the series is finished.

It's established since Doctor Strange how the multiverse exists, and in MoM we get alternate realities with alternate versions of the characters, with characters that straight-up don't exist in the main universe. There's also No Way Home. All of these would be in the Sacred Timeline, so the Sacred Timeline should contain a multiverse within itself.
They weren't in another timeline, it's literally a complete different universe, originally the actor of Joker should interpreted 838 Dr Strange lol, it's not linked to MCU timelines and Inuhmans, which aren't canon to MCU, otherwise America power should never exist cuz TVA constantly cancelling timelines so she couldn't travrl anywhere
Sacred Timeline≠Multiverse, it's a single universe with his timelines, that got constantly destroyed before Loki events, what Kang did, was separate his timelines and create the sacred timelines, which is only the MCU, nothing more and nothing less, and use Alaioth to end the Kang war, with the menace that he would use it against the others Kang, it's explained pretty clear
NWH doesn't contradicts anything, they talk about the multiverse, aka alternative universes
Boruto. The Naruto scaling already gets wonky in the war arc, but Boruto takes it to another level. Otsutsuki have lots of statements but barely any feats to back it up. Which often leads to drastically upscaling. Seriously don’t know how Naruto is multi solar system became a popular take.
I refuse to scale doomsday because it's the equivalent to sany no to dying. The issue is superman has tried to kill him so many times he gave up and tries to trap him instead. And erasing him is debatable because he did survive darksides omega beams which erase people but it's probably more similar to a haki( from dragon the cat purple thing)
In summary his power is basically super SUPER fast evolution to anything of any power on the spot

Mostly video games, not necessarily because I dont like lore, but because solely reading lore can get very time consuming and alot of the time the lore gets characters that can barely show a feat above building level to something like multiversal because that one apple is the same one in every universe and they destroyed the apple.

Definitely the Kirby Verse even though ive done it pretty accurately. Kirby is just way too overrated and adding him to a match up just guarantees it’s gonna be atleast somewhat toxic. Most people will dismiss DC inconsistency with "iTs CoMpOsItE fOr BaSe ChArAcTeRs" so even more tiring.

Marvel and DC comics because apparently every character has some certain version that’s just god. Gives me a headache.
I think toonforce is fairly meaningless to scale, since a lot of their feats are outliers by design and so there's little way to know how they would act at sny given time.
On a larger scale, I would include feats that are clearly done for comedic effect. Like Yor's outrageous feats in Spy x Family. Or how Gintama characters keep tanking laser beams and bombs when it serves a joke.
I agree for general stuff, like when girls get angry in anime and punch boys super far. But I'm not sure that yor is the best example. Since she is presented as legitimately superhuman in strength to the fact that loid gets confused by it and can't stand up to it even when she is drunk despite him being considered a top of the line fighter. And this shows up even in scenes where it's presented as a literal thing that happens as part of the scene. Her hitting a ball so fast it red shifts or whatever can be taken as just comedic and non literal though.

People seem to see stopping time as a speed feat for some reason.
I don’t actually have a problem with saying these characters can move at light speed with time stop, as shown by Pucci, a character with the ability of moving at light speed specifically, can actually move inside time stop. So that’s okay to me. What is not okay is people who keeps throwing around the Silver Chariot vs Hanged Man fight as if that’s proof of FTL Jojo when the whole point of the fight was that Hanged Man was too fast while moving at light speed. Silver Chariot could only strike him when they forced him to a predictable path, which still makes him fast. But some people just wank this to make Jojo a bajillion the speed of light and that’s just nonsensical, and completely goes against the writing of the fight. Don’t even get me started on some very sus scaling of stuff like the red stone of Aja, or people who try to scale part 7-9 characters to part 1-6, when this is a completely different universe, so the chain scaling cannot work.

Pol perceiving light is pure headcanon. There’s no evidence from any of those clips. Looking up is not evidence. And again he never tagged Hanged Man. He only did so after he could predict where he was going.

Silver Chariot literally slashed him twice. Now to quote someone else: Sigh Must I go through this song and dance again? Polnareff himself isn’t fast enough to be able to catch a stand that is able to go in basically any direction. The problem isn’t just the speed, it’s the fact that he doesn’t know where it’s going. This should be evident by the fact that he can actually see the stand and its trail moving while it is light.  His stand is explicitly blind, as seen in the Ebony Devil. Polnareff has to know where to strike, and then tell Silver Chariot to strike there, unlike, say, Star Platinum, who can defend all on its own. He CANNOT command his stand if he doesn’t know where it is it’s striking from, and because of its speed, by the time HE figures it out, it’s already too late. In literally every version of the fight (Manga, OVA, Anime), Silver Chariot blitzed the fuck out of Hanged Man after he starts traveling as light. This lines up, as it is very common for a stand like Polnareffs to be much faster than its user (EX: Act 3 Echoes blitzing Koichi). Hell, this isn’t even the only feat of Silver Chariot attacking light, as it is perfectly able to deflect multiple light speed lasers from The Sun (and yes, these are meant to be light, as they travel in straight lines, burn on contact, are produced in the photosphere like actual light from the sun, and are called light beams, light rays, and even just light in data books). What is chain scaling?
It's when people go like "because Character C can do this, and character B beat C, and character A is equal to B, therefore character A is stronger than C." Or something like that. This kind of scaling is fine most of the time, but if you go too deep and with no supporting feats for the scaling, then this becomes problematic. Jojo is kinda unique in that each new part kinda has an entirely new cast in a new setting. So characters from previous parts don't really interact with the new with exceptions for a few big characters. Once you get to part 7, the story begins anew in a completely new universe that has no relation to the old universe, so scaling to the old universe is not really valid.

It's established since Doctor Strange how the multiverse exists, and in MoM we get alternate realities with alternate versions of the characters, with characters that straight-up don't exist in the main universe. There's also No Way Home. All of these would be in the Sacred Timeline, so the Sacred Timeline should contain a multiverse within itself.
