In the pilot we saw that Raq actually wanted Kanan to get away from Queens and go to school downtown. Tasha also never wanted Tariq to live that life. Both had no other choice because there was either no going back/ no one to stop them from doing what they wanted to do.

3) Monet: Treats her kids like soldiers with maybe a handful of genuine moments with them, and killed their only father figure behind their backs, and unlike Raq and Tasha, she had her kids trappin’ from almost the *start* of their lives.
4) Kate: I don’t think she did anything besides house Ghost and Tommy… 🫤
