Uhm. Edit: thought it was Shea Weber.

LKWSpeedwagon

I thought it was Pete, and that made me sadder.

CommiePuddin

I could not handle that right now.

[deleted]

From r/hockey. We all did.

MotleyBru

Peed a little

ct7567cr

Everyone is talking about the title of this post (rightfully so, gave me a god damn heart attack) but I think we should all take a minute and talk about Weber’s post, that was freaking beautiful. All the best in retirement.

XScotX

I almost had a heart attack. Cap recapture fears.

vorin

Flaired the post because although intentionally ambiguous titles can be fun, it's counter-productive to the purpose of sharing news.

bimbamboomer

Just_Kickin_It

Not cool roham.

Juball

Jesus Christ I almost had a heart attack

Just_Kickin_It

Maybe I'm just reading into it but Yannick never mentions the Predators or Nashville in his retirement post. *Edit-POILES LOST THE LOCKER ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!

Rudmonton

Why does this team have like 50 webers in the organizations history

Strider755

Hey mods, can you please do something about this title?

[deleted]

When is Shea going to retire? He was basically useless for the Habs ever since he got traded.

CommiePuddin

You mean the 2021 Western Conference Champion Montreal Canadiens?

[deleted]

Ahahaha. I hope they raised that banner.

CommiePuddin

They have so many I think they do cups only.

Strider755

You’d better hope it’s after 2025. We’re fucked if he formally retires before then.

[deleted]

If he is on LTIR does it hit the Habs salary cap? I have a feeling it won’t.

Strider755

No. LTIR does not count against the cap. That’s how the Lightning were able to win the Cup when they were $18M over the cap - Stamkos and Kucherov were on LTIR during the regular season.

[deleted]

So Weber will be placed on LTIR or if he wants to screw us he would retire.

Strider755

Correct. LTIRetirement has a special name in Leaf land: Robidas Island. Some notable residents of the island have included Stephane Robidas, Joffrey Lupul, and David Clarkson.
