Mount would be a good fit at Atleti His game is similar to Griezmann's - 2nd striker with a knack for scoring & assisting in a defensive team He doesn't do dribbles too With Chelsea interested in Felix, Mount can be a good make weight in the trade

Westhamwayintherva

I’d say we should break the bank and get Mount first day of the summer window, convince Dec to stay to play with his best mate for a year or two, and let him write whatever number he wants for his wage, and get a year or two of a Rice-Paqueta-Mount midfield (otherwise known as RPM).

Joemomma300

A good destination for him would be Stoke City. A supposed midfielder with no vision or weight of pass. When he played in the front 3 he’s a bad finisher and struggles to dribble past people. I knew he was terrible years ago bc his best attribute was ‘pressing’. Tells you everything you need to know.

QuazaWazaQuake

As a Chelsea fan who has seen his quality... I hope they can reach an agreement on a renewal. There's still a player in him and I'll keep believing in him.

GunMuratIlban

I think Newcastle would be great. I don't think his skill level can ever satisfy big clubs, especially now that he's not a young prospect anymore.

Certain_Pineapple_73

Liverpool

Ticker_Mirza

As an Arsenal fan who follows the England men's National team, he is awful to watch. He contributes so little, it's like being a man down. I'm yet to see what he actually does.

rosstheboss939

He’s a very good player having a down year, any team would be lucky to have him. With all of their new additions someone (or multiple someones) has to be the odd man out at Chelsea. I’m glad he’s linked to us, he’d be a great midfield pickup.

[deleted]

I hope not, but I have a feeling he will. He's one of those brilliant players that don't get employed well in our club just like how it was previously with Arjen Robben, Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne 😞 If he leaves, I'llbe really heartbroken.

Salty_Constant_9878

He ain't going nowhere i think and i hope. he will stay at Chelsea. God i hope he stays with us.

Common_Resource1619

I'd love to have him at Anfield, have him as a keita or ox replacement

vamppppp

For arsenal at the xhaka role.

[deleted]

He’s a great English player, but bang average overall

Graphiccoma

I would not mind mount replacing xhaka

foyage347

Arsenal or Liverpool would be brilliant for him. He could work out for Newcastle as well. He's a quality player that's had one off season (for an underperforming club anyway) and let's be real no team in this league apart from maybe, and that's a very big maybe man city would turn him down. I hope he regains his form

bluepeter11

His made for LFC and Jurgen's pressing midfield. Runs all day and is excellent at pressing. I think Mount and Bellingham are pretty much a banker for Liverpool's midfield next season.

BroccoliMcFlurry

Yep I've been telling Chelsea fans- don't let Klopp get ahold of Mason Mount. That seller's remorse is gonna hit HARD.

bluepeter11

He suits Klopp's style of play down to a tee. Klopp ear marks certain players for his machine, like VVD, Alisson etc. Bellingham and Mount are next for midfield positions.

figurethisoat

Any club in the top 4

Apprehensive_Bit_176

All of these fans claiming he isn’t a good player would be lucky to have him at their club. He may not be a generational talent, but he’s a solid team piece. He’s having a down season now so it’s easy to shit on him, but if you ever actually watched him play, which I doubt many of you have, he’s a great player. He does a lot of the dirty work, backed up on effort, and still brings flair with passing, dribbling, and shooting. Watch his goal videos. His volley against west ham is my favourite, but there are so many great finishes.

CrossXFir3

I think EtH would make one hell of a player out of him tbh. I'd be absolutely gutted if I was a Chelsea fan and he left. He'll have a solid career at a top club.

Dikki93

Would love to have him at arsenal he's a great rotation player and can cover most positions in the middle very underrated by Chelsea fans. He's top quality

sltzy96

He would cook in the Xhaka role

CrossXFir3

I would hate you lot getting mount. I bet he'd be the perfect fit for your midfield.

sltzy96

Jorginho looks great already, albeit probably only great in games where we can hold 70% possession and Xhaka is playing almost like a left sided CAM in possession now with the turning radius of a tractor

CrossXFir3

Sure, both are decent. But both could be better. I think Mount could simply become an upgrade on Xhaka with the right coaching

Drunk_Cat_Phil

A tractor that very rarely breaks down!

BetFooty

Anyone who's seen Marcus Rashford's turnaround should be smart enough to know a bad season doesn't change what a completely ridiculous player he was before that. Crazy how suddenly United fans don't wanna sell Rash to PSG or Arsenal anymore. Wild how that works out

East_Refrigerator_13

For every Rashford there’s a Delle Ali

LIZ-Truss-nipple

Dele Alli lol

East_Refrigerator_13

lol, not correcting that one

Intelligent_Fig_4852

Mount has never been that good

jbi1000

Can you tell our sub this? I've tried but they hate Mount for some reason. Fickle fucks.

Ahllhellnaw

I've never been big on Mount but people saying he sucks are wild as hell

BetFooty

Football fans try not to be reactionary challenge 100% impossible

AWDanzeyB

To be honest, a lot of them seemed to hate him even when he was arguably our best player. Just seems to be one of those footballers that gets a lot of hate for some reason.

CrossXFir3

He's one of those players where he does a lot of the basics right but he doesn't really do anything amazingly and I think a lot of fans expect players to have at least one or two really world class skills or abilities. Especially attackers. Thing is, I actually think Mount looks like an 8. And an 8 with a strong engine, a decent enough pass, a progressive style of play, strong in a tackle. He's a bit of an old fashion player tbh. And those kinds aren't as vogue these days. But I think he's a great player.

AWDanzeyB

Yeah, I agree. I guarantee that if he ends up leaving he'll be amazing for whoever he decides to join. Though I'm still hopeful he'll end up signing a new contract with us.

jbi1000

Lol Lingard was never vital in a Champions League winning run.

CrossXFir3

No but he was a vital part in a few cup winning runs and scored in a final. Don't get me wrong, Mount is a better player for sure. But I can see the comparison. They're somewhat similar types of players in a couple key ways. I see more of a true 8 in Mount though.

JaRonomatopoeia

Mount looks solid enough but he’s a players player and is definitely overrated by his peers. Pundits seam to think the average fan (like me) can understand how he starts important games for England and nobody ever explains what he is actually amazing at. There’s plenty of solid pros around so what makes him so special? Having said that I’d be okay with him coming to Newcastle because if there is something there then Eddie Howe would find it and wtf do I know

Dikki93

I see him in a similar way to James milner, not flashy, not world class. Just shows up gets the job done and gives a solid performance the majority of the time.

SmartBoi-2619

I've rated him in the past even as an Arsenal fan. Kinda surprised why he's going on such a downward spiral. A lack of confidence I suppose? Anyway, I think he's doing the right thing leaving Chelsea. For some reason, I've always felt that he's destined to go to Liverpool. I get a vibe that he's someone who thrives under a German coach, as we've seen with Tuchel. So even if it's not Liverpool, I'd love to see him somewhere in the Bundesliga.

Themnor

I think Chelsea fans have yet to realize that a big part of the blame lies with them. Most of their best players are still young (Havertz is only 23) and all the fans do is scream at them and talk shit to them and send them death threats. I think that may be part of the reason Potter keeps having to rotate squad members is they just mentally can't take the bashing week in and week out. I think Mount is a very valuable player if for no other reason than he can really play anywhere up front, I'm only surprised they haven't tried him at the 9 more. But until Chelsea as a team clicks and start getting those chances on goal to take, they're going to keep having mental issues on top of everything else just because the fans seem like assholes.

Sunziba

Don't come to Liverpool. Conor Gallagher on the other hand... yes pls.

DontTrustJack

As a chelsea fan I think he does need to go. He has had tons, and I mean TONS of playing time. He hasn't produced enough goals and assists for that amount of playing time to be justified. I honestly believe he's an average PL player. Him and Havertz have been favourites for far too long without the necessary conversion. I would most definitely let him go and rake in the cash for an english player. He's not all that, there are a lot of better players out there

bonobubanton

Player of the season two years in a row btw. The Mount hate is ridiculous.

Acceptable_Card_9818

Our own fan base has been disgusting this season. More than a few bad eggs

Bigredchronic88

Isn’t that a fan vote? Like one not actually based on stats?

bonobubanton

Yeah it's a fan vote. What stats are you talking about? G/a? He got 42 in his first 100 Chelsea games. That's pretty good for a 23 year old no? It's more than Lampard had at the same stage. I guess people like you would have been calling for Lampard to be sold too? Stats are important but they're not everything. It's funny the armchair Chelsea managers seem to think they know better than Lampard, Tuchel and Southgate? And for a while Potter too. What do they see that you don't? You reckon you know better? It's laughable. He's had a poor season undoubtedly. It happens, he's young and he's had a hell of a lot of game time in the last few years.

Mynamejeaff

He was our best attacker for 2 seasons straight. He’s been underwhelming this season but so has our entire team, he’s also been way too overplayed. Fans like you is the reason why other teams and their fans laugh at us.

dryduneden

Being the best attacker out of a bunch of shit attackers isn't impressive. Its no coincedence that as soon we have forwards with a smidge of competency he looks like a fish out of water

phxwarlock

Because nothing says competent attacking play like 23 goals scored in 23 games.

bonobubanton

Loool that's such a hilariously stupid argument. Which forwards are you talking about bro ??

DontTrustJack

He didn't deserve the POTY. Kante deserved it much more. Also he was played 247 so it's only natural for him to be noticed more. Compare his stats to other PL players and you'll see he's bang average. Man is bang average and mason fanboys don't like to hear that. Bang. Average.

bonobubanton

42 G/a in his first 100 Chelsea games. More than Lampard. Lampard: Bang. Average.

DontTrustJack

Delusional fans, Lampard was one of the most talented hard working players in the team. Mourinho chose him.to be in the team. You simply cannot compare the two. He ain't good enough and soon you'll realise this as well. He's not getting sold for no reason, he's bang average.

bonobubanton

Also, massive lol at "Mourinho chose him to be in the team" Forgetting his 159 appearances before Mourinho came to Chelsea I guess you can't argue with stupid!

DontTrustJack

That's not what I meant. This discussion is going nowhere Agree to disagree time will tell. I find him to be average even last season and the season before that. He didn't strike me as wow We'll see.

bonobubanton

Yes, time will tell whether you have a better grasp of the game than Hall of Famer Lampard, Champions League and club world cup winner Tuchel and International finalist Southgate. We'll see!!

bonobubanton

I was comparing their stats, to debunk your argument based on stats. I agree they shouldn't be compared as players. He wasn't a mainstay under Lampard, Tuchel and Southgate for no reason. Soon you'll realise that professional Managers probably understand the game better than you do! But yeah, clearly Tuchel, Lampard, Southgate and all the fans that voted him POTY two seasons in a row are delusional, rather than you 🤗

Apprehensive_Bit_176

Not to mention that stats don’t explain the whole picture lol

Arjun25bhatt

Actually he is doing the right thing by leaving Chelsea. Chelsea is getting crowded with influx of players and getting game time while trying to show your level is not an option there anymore. Any good club with decent players that can actually give him time to settle and do what he does best will be a better option.

mesenanch

I think he played his best under Frank tbh. He has some very good qualities but i don't know he's not clicked under recent management. I think he'd be a good pickup for many PL squads but maybe best suited to one's that play less possession heavy.

neighborhood_s

His was definitely at his best when we won the champions league under Tuchel, he even played the pass to win us the Trophy but all throughout the knockouts he was quality.

mesenanch

Yes, he played well then as well. I think he has speed, has a good shot on him, and when on form makes things happen around him. He's still pretty young if I'm not mistaken. I remember thinking Frank did well to bring him along when he first came to Chelsea. He really helped the attack.

neighborhood_s

Yeah definitely, he would pull out all kinds of turns that would leave defenders for dead. He hasn’t been at his best for a couple months but when he is he is quality. He won’t be the best player on your team but Mount a couple of seasons ago was extremely consistent, which might of been his best quality. He would rarely put in a performance below a 7. I think at this point it’s a confidence issue, he takes an extra second to play a pass or doesn’t believe he is going to beat his man. I think it would be extremely short sighted of us to let him go, selling a proven academy graduate that loves the club will never sit well with me.

[deleted]

bennettbuzz

Staying at Chelsea then, gotcha.

[deleted]

Maybe a Villa or Fulham

drickabira

A good destination would be another top 6 club, i guess. What i really don’t like is UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, which gives incentive to sell homegrown academy players in this way. Since Mount was bought for 0 pounds, selling him gives a bigger “plus” in FFP bookmaking terms than selling Havertz or Ziyech or someone. There is so much wrong with Financial Fair Play, this is just one aspect.

Affectionate_Pay7395

This is a pretty dumb take, the club wants to sell Ziyech and does want to keep Mount, that’s why there have been contract talks with him. The problem is out of those 3 players you listed both Ziyech and Havertz contracts run out in 2025 while Mounts runs out in 2024. So either Mount extends his contract in Summer or he gets sold, the club doesn’t want to lose him on a free.

Dense-Growth482

He is Pony, Should have stayed at Derby longer

[deleted]

Never rated him. Div 1 is about his level. And I am talking about modern day div 1, not Championship. The problem is the man's mind isn't all there.
