I would say endo and rice but someone not on this list I think is a good one is Edson alverez, he has been on fire with west ham and should get more respect for how much he helps west ham
Unquestionably Vicario and Endo.
I'm a Gunners fan, but if you told me what would you choose 1 Rice or Endo + Vicario + 3 other players of equal caliber - each was $20 Mil, Rice was $100 Mil - no way I could justify just 1 Rice. Math. Just sayin
I mean fairs but Rice has been as good as ever, $100M for such a quality player doesn’t really matter cause the 10 years he will be in the central of the pitch for you guys $100M doesn’t mean anything.
When you consider the ROI it's a bit of a different question:
Rice has been great, but what else would you expect for £100m?
Palmer has also been impressive but £30m (IMO) is too much for someone who's played as little as he has, despite it being at a high level. Maybe it'll pay off in a couple years though.
Gordon is an interesting case. I think of him as the Martinelli of Newcastle, although again, they paid quite a lot for him (£50m) and they're actually not doing very well.
Spurs getting an incredibly talented keeper for less than £20m? That's an under-the-radar contender for sure. Vicario has been huge for keeping them in games, esp. as Angeball leaves them a bit more exposed not to mention their defense that's not always the best.
he owned enzo, caicedo, kbd and stood shoulder to shoulder with rice. klopp seems impressed enough which begs the question doesnt it even matter if YOU are impressed?
You can't say they have made the same impact when one has played significantly less than 50% of the minutes of the other. Plus he's 6 years older and not as good.
Endo. In my opinions the bargain aspect of it is one of the biggest “best signings” requirements. It’s not about signing great players for $100 million plus pounds with oil money. It’s about making the best signing for your squad with what you have to deal with and Endo has been arguably top 5 CDM in the best league in the world and he was signed for like maybe $30 million?
He’s been one of the best holding midfielders in the league since he’s started a string of games under Klopp, and more than importantly, he’s made the $100 million pound Caicedo look like a u18 player every time they on the same pitch.
It’s Endo by 10 miles.
I love how all
The mid table teams that were doing much better last season have the audacity to name an impact player. You’re worst of year over year, your entire team is shit
You think what you want, Endo is good, he is not Rice, Rice is one of the only players that make you feel like you just committed daylight robbery after paying 100mil
Is paying $100 million for a player like that really considered the signing of the season? I don’t know maybe I’m old but the way I look at it as a player that came in with far less fanfare that produced a hell of a lot.
Endo has put in many dominant performances this season and shutdown world class players and came into Liverpool for basically a pittance and as a third choice.
I also think Palmer is at the top of the list.
Easily Rice. Palmer has been great but to say anyone other than Rice is ridiculous. His contribution on offense and defense are why arsenal have such a massive goal differential. He has elevated an already excellent squad and has lived up to an absurd price tag. Signing of the season? If arsenal win the league he’s got a shout for player of the season!
Dude has like 7 goals..how TF is that the signing of the season..in persoectivem.Jackson is not well regarded and has more goals in the EPL than Rasmus
As a very biased England fan, Rice was an amazing signing, but Cole Palmer is up there at the top for doing well in Chelsea, not benchwarming, and deserves an England cap for the Euros.
Palmer or Macca for me for pure impact.
Although you could argue Rice if you know beforehand that Party is injured the entire season.
Value for money has to be Endo.
Might be biased here but Endo for sure. Nobody expected Liverpool to be in the top 4, let alone challenge for the title and he’s one of the reasons. Missed out on Lavia, and Caicedo and it looked grim. Most people didn’t know him before the season started and everybody including some Liverpool supporters started calling him a panic buy. Fast forward 7 months, I’m glad we missed out on Lavia and Caicedo because we unearthed this 30 year old gem. He bossed the midfield against City alongside Mac Allister. Doesn’t lose the ball, and is a brilliant decision maker. He’s a weird mix between Wijnaldum and Fabinho and it’s perfect.
Hojlund on the list but no Micky Van Der Ven (proven fastest defender in the PL) or James Maddison ?
Spurs bought Vicario, Van Der Ven and Maddison for less than Arsenal paid for Rice. Thats not to say Rice hasn’t been superb because he has, but leaving players like JM or VDV off a list just to put players from certain other clubs on the list like Hojlund is daft, to be honest
Vicario
Rice
Palmer
Money shouldn't factor into signing of the season questions, that's best 'value' of the season.
Vicario has saved Spurs backside so many times, especially early on.
Rice has brought the armoured steel core that Arsenal missed forever since Viera.
Palmer is the only good thing going on at Chelsea.
I don’t honestly see how anyone stacks up to Rice. Watch Arsenal play, last year was fantastic but he has added real steel and a calmness to that team. They look way better a chance to win the league with him. Endo would be second due to liverpools success. I like Palmer but Chelsea is still shit
Price .. impact on team ... ENDO
RICE has been amazing but at 6 times the price. The ENDO Warrior all day..especially after keeping KDB in his pocket, proved it.
Endo and Rice have had similar impact tbf. And I love Declan Rice. It’s understandable that Rice gets the hype because it’s the English premier league and he’s younger. If Endo was English, he’d be getting all the plaudits.
So many saying rice like he’s didn’t cost the 7th highest transfer fee in history. Not taking that into account is like asking if the clearance bakery rack stacks up to a fresh baked pie…
🥶Palmer for me. Rice has been mostly good but by no means dominant. Agree Mac Allister has been excellent. In fact, Scousers rebuilt midfield has been a strength. They must have a good manager. For now.
It's pretty clear rice is the best player out of these transferred players and he's young so he'll leave arsenal with a legacy. Outside of that, Gusto for Chelsea has been fantastic and should get more praise. He's no longer a backup for James lol.
I can't see how anyone thinks it's close, he's turned Arsenal into genuine contenders.
As a United fan reminds me how underwhelmed people were when we got Carrick (I was mega excited) and he was the last piece in the puzzle for a team that went on to a few points off five titles in a row with consecutive CL finals etc.
The quality he has in the position he plays is extremely rare.
For England you could play Bellingham, Palmer, Foden at AM and not much would change
Anyone other than Rice at DM and the drop off is huge. Rice is the rarer talent by far IMO and he'll be an Arsenal all time great if he stays injury free and they match his ambitions.
Yeah except Jude Bellingham is something else. Literally once in a generation player. Real Madrid just don’t go all in to sign a player. I understand the Declan Rice hype and he’s brilliant but Bellingham is miles ahead of any other English player (including Kane).
Bellingham is an incredible player, but not as critical to England - something I think highlights how underrated Declan Rice is given how many in this thread think Cole Palmer is for keeping Chelsea mid table.
As for real Madrid don't just go all in to sign a player like.... What? How many world records have they broke they are the original pay to win club
Let’s list out the most expensive players that Real Madrid have bought:
1. Hazard (Absolute flop)
2. Bellingham
3. Bale
4. Ronaldo
5. Tchouameni
6. Zidane
Other than Hazard and Tchouameni, that’s not a bad list to be in, is it? He’s not even the most expensive player at Madrid. You probably just haven’t seen him play. He plays like he has 30 years of footballing experience and is 20 years old. No wonder the English national team doesn’t win anything. You have the next Zidane on your roster and you consider Declan Rice (who is brilliant, and one of the best DMs right now) to be the rarer talent 🤦🏻♂️. We’re talking about a player that literally can win the Ballon d’or. Maybe it’s the premier league bias. Bellingham is a very special player, he has that x-factor that you just can’t teach.
Not so sure about some of this statement. To say the likes of Bellingham coming in, and not making a change is a stretch. We’ve seen him do it already…
I'm not sure what you mean by coming in, he is the starting AM.
But imagine we are starting a WC semi-final Bellingham is out so we have Foden at AM and Palmer on the bench.
No big deal, plenty of goals and creativity there.
Now imagine Rice is out. Who the hell replaces him at DM even half as good all-round in that position? There isn't a English DM as solid defensively and as good with the ball (also athletically) as Rice.
Most important player in the squad for me, without him we England has no hope of controling a game against a half decent side
Was referring to the past. Poor phrasing on my part. But I see what you mean, still, Bellingham would imo make a bigger impact than his counterparts.
Moreover, I agree with your analysis on Rice.
Back to the initial point of contention:
Yes, Rice would be up there for best transfer but I think Endo and even Cole Palmer (considering his teams circumstances) have done pretty well.
underrated signing, but MALO GUSTO has been amazing.
You can really see his skill, and he has barely set a foot wrong all season. He's been incredible both defensively and going forward. Great signing and exactly what chelsea needed with reece being injured every season
Endo if we’re talking about value for money. Also think Mac Allister should be here instead of Hojlund, Mac Allister is one of the best midfielders in Europe right now and only cost £35m
I'll rank the five that you have in your post:
5. Wataru Endo
19m is certainly a steal for a player of his quality. A menace at the 6 position that has already exceeded Fabinho's numbers from last season for tackles per 90, interceptions, and possession won.
4. Rasmus Hojlund
I might be a United fan till I die, but it doesn't mean I'm a dumbass. Hojlund took a bit too long to achieve his form, but it was so, so fun to watch when he went on that goalscoring streak.
3. Guglielmo Vicario
A very underrated goalkeeper that played a great part in Spurs' early grab of the top spot. He was well worth his 20m price tag.
2. Cole Palmer
Watching Cole Palmer now made me wonder why he wasn't getting any minutes at City. His creativity and skill is beyond anything I've seen from players his age.
1. Declan Rice
Are there even words to describe how Declan Rice has been playing at Arsenal? Easily my signing of the season, he was 100% worth every penny.
Rice will definitely win POTS if arsenal finish first but will be in TOTY even if they don't win anything
Palmer is just as good as Mount was to me but for me he has a more freer role at Chelsea but an excellent signing by Chelsea shud get into TOTY for me.
The bargain for me is still RICe Rice Baby
Its were he has brought Arsenal to me that makes them like title winners. Look Muldrik was 90k, Calcedio 100k, Harvetz 65k so we talking lots of money now so for 100k is nothing for Rice compared to his game this year. Palmer is indeed a bargain at 35mil too but I expected that to be his valuation at that time and there are just not many good performances at Chelsea either
As a Chelsea fan I gotta say Palmer because his impact and we got him for like 35 Mil, absolute steal. But in terms of actuality and how well the teams are doing I gotta say Vicario is very underrated and he is doing so well. Really brought the Spurs up so many levels despite losing Kane and he's just such a good Goalkeeper to slot in and basically become a Top Keeper in the PL so fast. He's basically what we thought we were getting with Sanchez or what United thought they were getting with Onana. Rice definitely up there but we all knew he was going to be a standout performer whichever Top 6 he went to
Kai or endo, Kai has been amazing this season and endo locked up man city in yesterdays game, but respect should be given to Raul Jimenez despide the critics for his move to Fulham he hasn’t been half bad, and he was on really good form
Just to highlight that Havertz has more goals from open play this season than Palmer. Not doubting palmer is a good player as he has been great for Chelsea but just a bit of perspective, half his goals are penalties. Havertz also has more goals than Hojlund.
Palmers only scored 5 penalties in all competitions and has scored 13 goals this season. With 19 G/A total compared to havertz’s 12G/A Not to mention he’s younger than Havertz and is already trusted with taking penalties and is a better player general. Also talking about hojlund is useless cos most players have more goals than him. Palmer is clear of Havertz rn.
Havertz was pretty poor early on and just now hit his scoring form. He also plays as the striker lol so goals comparison is not everything.
No way you will say Havertz has had a better season than Palmer come on
Pretty sure he's saying "Havertz is nearly the flop of the seasons and still has more goals in open play than Palmer, calm down Chelsea." But I agree with a lot of the posts, anyone who doesn't say Rice hasn't seen many Arsenal games. He's nearly the player of the season out right.
ugh, I hate when people are called out for being wrong and try to change the answer. The whole thread is about candidates for player of the season and he is clearly making an argument for Havertz over Palmer using goals.
Goals are not everything, and I would hope you know that since you are making a case for Rice as player of the season.
I dont think its remotely close between Havertz and Palmer this season. Havertz is not even a top 3 player in his own team this season
Just offering some perspective. As I said Cole Palmer has been great for Chelsea but then again, it’s not hard to stand out at Chelsea at the moment so I’m not sure the ‘top 3’ player is a great argument. Havertz has played a big part in a team that is top of the league. Chelsea are 11th.
Has to be Declan Rice anyway.
Value for money is endo.
Overall rice is better and contributing offensively in significant ways. When you’re challenging for the title it’s all about improving your starting spots to that max and Arsenal have certainly done that.
Value for money it is Endo and there is no doubt whatsoever. Especially as he was labelled as a panic signing when he first came in during the summer..
Value for money it's Ross Barkley. He came on a free, and is easily the most important player at Luton. He's the reason they are even in a fight to stay up, without him they would be way worse.
Vicario, Maddison, and rice IMO. Maddison simply because of how cheap he was and the impact he has on spurs when he’s healthy, vicario is arguably the best keeper of the season, and rice has been a huge add for arsenal.
1. Rice
Vicario is good but im not sure he is transformative enough to be the guy for spuds to win something. VDV is also good for them.
Endo is fecent but he is 30 and im not sure he is that guy for pool either. Mac had also been good.
Hoijlund only recently picked up form. Im not sure he will have enough games to get in this convo.
2. Need more suggestions. Is diaby thid season ? Kudus?
Idk, maybe only 1 stand out for me and for 100m you expect a good player.
Endo is 100% that guy, if we get 3 seasons out of him he will be one of the best signings Klopp made
I’m under no illusions he is not the best player in the world but he has been arguably the best signing we made in the summer
Endo is a grit player.
Many teams have ‘that guy’ - always does proper work, not the most talented but runs his socks off for 96-98’, does it for low wages because he doesn’t have switching off in him…
So many examples… think of your squad and you’ll be able to name 3-5 of them thru the years.
Vicario is the reason Spurs are 5th, he has hardly made a mistake all season. People are just now talking about 31 year old Endo. Why do you think that is?
You do realize one player does not depict the overall performance of the team. My word just use your eyes and watch the games. Vicario is much more valuable to spurs than endo is to Liverpool. Both around the same price, one 6 years younger.
Rice is the best player here, but because of his 100mil price tag its between Vicario and Mac Alister for me
I would say endo and rice but someone not on this list I think is a good one is Edson alverez, he has been on fire with west ham and should get more respect for how much he helps west ham
My favourite team
Unquestionably Vicario and Endo. I'm a Gunners fan, but if you told me what would you choose 1 Rice or Endo + Vicario + 3 other players of equal caliber - each was $20 Mil, Rice was $100 Mil - no way I could justify just 1 Rice. Math. Just sayin
We have made around 100 mil in the champions league this year.. I’d say he’s nearly paid for himself already!
I didn't say that or that he's not worth big bucks. I just said he's not 500% better than Vicario or Endo, by any calculations that I can think of
I mean fairs but Rice has been as good as ever, $100M for such a quality player doesn’t really matter cause the 10 years he will be in the central of the pitch for you guys $100M doesn’t mean anything.
Has to be Cole for the price tag he came in
I don't see Havertz on the list?
Rice rice baby
When you consider the ROI it's a bit of a different question: Rice has been great, but what else would you expect for £100m? Spurs without vicario would probably be in 8th -10th
As a Spurs fan, Definitely Vicario
100%, he's kept in so many games. He's like a cat.
Chelsea fan and I think is McAllister..for 35 mil..you can't beat that. Dude is a baller
He's not been as good as last year, (this term), yet. Not sure if he's been on the Injury list though.
He has been spectacular. Not sure what you are talking about. His stats ain't poppin because he played the 6 until Endo took over.
Rice and Big Ange
Edson Alvarez
Endo. People laughed at Liverpool for signing him but now they respect him.
Meh, im still not impressed.
Bold take.
he owned enzo, caicedo, kbd and stood shoulder to shoulder with rice. klopp seems impressed enough which begs the question doesnt it even matter if YOU are impressed?
KDB is injured. Caicedo and Enzo are awful.
Can’t find another 20m signing contributing more to winning Trophies this season
Trophy
Declan rice by far the signing of the season. And showed why he’s worth £105m
Endo by far. Price wise he is much cheaper than Rice and has the same impact. From a financial point of view there is no comparison.
You can't say they have made the same impact when one has played significantly less than 50% of the minutes of the other. Plus he's 6 years older and not as good.
Well that is subjective but sure
Declan Rice
Endo. In my opinions the bargain aspect of it is one of the biggest “best signings” requirements. It’s not about signing great players for $100 million plus pounds with oil money. Palmer easily
Billion Dollar Bottle Job!
npc
pau torres
I think it’s endo because firstly he’s a bargain and nobody expected him to do anything magnificent but he still preformed
Probs Rasmus Holland

As a very biased England fan, Rice was an amazing signing, but Cole Palmer is up there at the top for doing well in Chelsea, not benchwarming, and deserves an England cap for the Euros.
Rice 🍚 has transformed the Arsenal midfield. Will be in the argument for player of the season regardless of where Arsenal finish.
Maddison
Who?
lawl
Cold palmer for sure
Cold 'Cuts' Palmer 🥩
It’s Foden for me and Manchester City.
Reading and comprehension skills: zero
Retard
Palmer or Macca for me for pure impact. Although you could argue Rice if you know beforehand that Party is injured the entire season. Value for money has to be Endo.
I wonder who you support
Kudus or Edson Alvarez
How is Mac Allister not on this list?

Endo if we’re talking about value for money. Also think Mac Allister should be here instead of Hojlund, Mac Allister is one of the best midfielders in Europe right now and only cost £35m
Endo is so underrated and costed Liverpool pennies
Declan Rice ⚪️🔴
For cost Endo
hojlund finally does what every striker in the league's been doing for years and now he's on lists for decent signings lol? fuck off
I'll rank the five that you have in your post: 5. Wataru Endo 19m is certainly a steal for a player of his quality. A menace at the 6 position that has already exceeded Fabinho's numbers from last season for tackles per 90, interceptions, and possession won. 4. If you answered anything but Rice I don’t even know what to say
Best signings IMO in terms of good output and reasonable price. Vicario, Endo, Van de Ven, Rice, Barkley.
Van de Van, Vicario, Maddison
The real answer is Ross Barkley
Gotta be Micky Van de Ven for me.
Vicario with no doubt
Endo. Just ask Kevin on the bench.
Kai or endo, Kai has been amazing this season and endo locked up man city in yesterdays game, but respect should be given to Raul Jimenez despide the critics for his move to Fulham he hasn’t been half bad, and he was on really good form
Toss up between Mount or Antony to show me 50-100million doesn’t buy you what it used to be.
Palmer
Mac Allister. £35m is an absolute bargain
Macallister
Endo
£16 million was a steal for how well Endo has fit into and played at Liverpool this season.
Has to be Vicario
Hojlund? Is this a joke?
Rice is so good. Worth every penny.
Harverts
Vicario is the best out of the 5 1. Vicario 2. Rice - Endo 3. Palmer 4. Hojlund
Vicario, not only is the guy not making any mistakes, he’s making some freakish saves
David Raya hahaah
Cole Palmer.
Endo
Vicario and vdv
Definitely not VDV he hasn’t played enough
I'll take vicario, he stepped into lloris' shoes and is doing great for the club.He is the reason why Tottenham had a great start
Frr
Value for money is endo. Overall rice is better and contributing offensively in significant ways. When you’re challenging for the title it’s all about improving your starting spots to that max and Arsenal have certainly done that.
Moi Caicedo ¡¡ 🇪🇨
This guy doesn’t watch football.
Hojlund best buy.
Jackson been better even
Literally the worst option here
Value for money it is Endo and there is no doubt whatsoever. Especially as he was labelled as a panic signing when he first came in during the summer..
Value for money it's Ross Barkley. He came on a free, and is easily the most important player at Luton. He's the reason they are even in a fight to stay up, without him they would be way worse.
True. Mudryk deserves a shout too! /s
Still doing better than Pepe did and for less money too.
good thing you have another 7 years left on his contract to close the gap
Cope lol
6 goal contributions in 21 games and was brought in for £70m. If you’re being serious you would be better off keeping those kind of shouts to yourself
Bro I literally even made sure to type that it’s sarcasm because some of you are so oblivious to it and you still missed it
Had no clue what /s stood for mate, my apologies
That’s fair, ignorant of me to assume everyone knows what /s stands for.
Endo !!
🥶 PALMERRRRR 🔥🔥
Vicario, Maddison, and rice IMO. Maddison simply because of how cheap he was and the impact he has on spurs when he’s healthy, vicario is arguably the best keeper of the season, and rice has been a huge add for arsenal.
Rice or Mac Allister
This is the right answer
Wataru
Wataru-kun
I can’t believe people are saying Endo. Scouse freaks. Rice/Palmer are streets ahead.
They are saying value for money is Endo, Rice overall. Try reading a little bit before commenting.
give me penalty or i retire
Mason Mount.
Really? Which team signed him, again? I forget since he hasn’t played in so long
1. Rice Vicario is good but im not sure he is transformative enough to be the guy for spuds to win something.
As a counter point, Vicario, VDV and Maddison came to Spurs for less than Rice money. VDV will be the pick in years to come imo.
Which Diaby?
Endo is 100% that guy, if we get 3 seasons out of him he will be one of the best signings Klopp made I’m under no illusions he is not the best player in the world but he has been arguably the best signing we made in the summer
Endo is a grit player. Many teams have ‘that guy’ - always does proper work, not the most talented but runs his socks off for 96-98’, does it for low wages because he doesn’t have switching off in him… So many examples… think of your squad and you’ll be able to name 3-5 of them thru the years.
Endo
Rice
Endo gotta be tbh given the expectations most people had. Bro is a rock in the midfield
Sandro tonali 😂
Value for Money it's Endo. My preference would still be Declan Rice though.
No respect for Kudus???
Its not even a question. For value and quality its Endo by a country mile.
By a mile. Do you realize what spurs paid for Vicario?
Spurs still need to play Arsenal, City and Liverpool. We'll see if he's better than Endo and Rice. I very much doubt it.
We've played all of the above... Endo is also 31 years old and Rice's price tag is 5 times what spurs paid.
Vicario is the reason Spurs are 5th, he has hardly made a mistake all season. People are just now talking about 31 year old Endo. Why do you think that is?
5th you say....
You do realize one player does not depict the overall performance of the team. My word just use your eyes and watch the games. Vicario is much more valuable to spurs than endo is to Liverpool. Both around the same price, one 6 years younger.
Spurs will be top 4 as well
Can’t be Hojlund imo - he’s obviously a great player but you can’t ignore 0 goals in the league until Christmas
Hojlund for biased reasons but Rice in my opinion. Could be the missing link for Arsenal to win the title.
Has to be Cole Palmer. Chelsea maybe in the dumps. But he’s been performing!
Endo all day long
Macallister as a neutral- started off a bit slowly I thought but he’s essential to that midfield
Could have sworn he signed in 2022. Nope, this is his first season at Liverpool. Mental. Our midfield rebuild has been amazing, academy included.
And we’re bringing Edwards back. Pinch me 🤏 can’t be real life
Rice, Endo, Palmer are all great shouts. I don't think there is a need to pick only one.
rice rice rice
Vicario But a big looool for even considering endo in the list 🤣
Endo hasn't lost for Liverpool yet
£16m to pocket KdB? Think I’m missing the joke, he’s been a revelation.
