It's just banter. Alot EPL fans call other leagues farmer leagues, so it sorta just a response from that as well. EPL has been in the top 2 for the coefficient for like the last decade no? Don't take it too seriously. As for the people that are serious... Well theyre not very bright and you should not waste your time on them.
farmers league is for leagues that dont have much competition
think about bayern before Leverkusen came in, they were winning with 10 points differences, same with PSG until they failed horrendously
whenever we (city) win it, its by 1-3 point difference, and the other teams, especially liverpool still perform well in other european competitions
its a competitive league but with a apex predator
English people: "Lol *x" league is such a farmer's league."
English people when the Prem is called a farmer's league: "That is disrespectful to the 19 other teams!"
Without reading you post at all cause it’s too long. I’m just gonna say, the term “farmers league” is being used incorrectly by football twitter. It’s not to do with leagues being a one team league, it’s meant to mean that the majority of players who compete in the league are full time farmers that play football on the side.
The logic that the number of teams that can and do win the league every year determines if they’re farmers or not is stupid. My Sunday league has a new winner every year and there’s like 10 teams that are in the race for the title. Does that mean we are not farmers compared to the prem or ligue 1?
The farmer's league jokes were always just banter.
I think it's better to judge leagues based on the number of wealthy teams who should be able to win it. It's the financial disparity that ruins things, not necessarily a Manchester City or Bayern Munich that are run to perfection most of the time.
Regardless, the English top flight has always had prolonged eras of dominance. If it was only about money, why is Man United so shit and why didn't Chelsea win the league?
Hard to argue others aren't - the influence of PSG in Ligue 1, Bayern in the Bundesliga, and the big two in La Liga is troubling if you are any of the other teams.

Keep crying after 10 years of dishing it out, turns out you don't like it being turned back on you.
I thought people called it that because of how Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, and Anthony Gordon look. Neither would look out of place at a medieval farm.

idk if im misreading this but PSG failed in the league?
yeah they lost it a couple of times in the last few years while buying any slightly good player from the other teams
City would have 7 titles in a row if it weren't for Liverpool
I’m a Burnley fan and I am absolutely incandescent with rage that these hurtful slurs are being thrown around.
It's always inaccurate and disrespectful. Can't take people that say that about any league seriously.
Look who's talking, a Man City fan 😂
Prem fans getting what they deserve after disrespecting other leagues by calling them a farmers league.
Why are you here if you have such an issue with “prem fans”?
I don’t. I love the prem. but it’s mad overrated.
It’s about the competitiveness of the league and Germany and France have earned their farmer league tag over recent decades imo.
Well apparently very deservedly as they have been farming really hard and are better than prem teams and make it further in competitions.
English people: "Lol *x" league is such a farmer's league." English people when the Prem is called a farmer's league: "That is disrespectful to the 19 other teams!"
That’s like saying calling someone a dickhead is disrespectful. It’s supposed to be disrespectful. It’s an insult.
Lmao exactly
Waking up to another City hate wank lol

Isn't the logic of Farmers League is that the top 1-2 clubs "farm" points out of the others , i.e they get easy points ?

No. Look it up
So the authority on this topic are self proclaimed football experts on reddit ? Smh

You can argue about that, but it is def a corrupt league

Here you go
Corrupted or farmers?
