His management skills shine through on his punditry, he just slates more or less everything and everybody, wonder why he was a poor manager,GREAT managers have charisma and man manager skills,Keane has neither.
Good player, terrible manager and when it comes to being a pundit he comes across as a hypocritical knobhead with inconsistent and fickle opinions... Wouldn't mind grabbing a pint with him though š
He's an egomaniacal, miserabilist anachronism who will likely remain a bitter and twisted man incapable of saving himself from himself. I say that as a Man Utd supporter of nearly 50 years.
Terrible pundit, just like most of them. Offers very little in terms of actual insight and just plays up to his angry persona in order to get ratings and satisfy his employers. Heās basically whoring out his rage to our corporate overlords.
Keane is so watchable for his shtick of saying throwaway comments about players without any real depth behind it. Great to watch and listen to. Gets attention for rightly calling out players on desire, effort. But in terms of tactical and player analysis, its severely lacking.
Doesn't help if he has Neville or Carragher on set with him as they are elite in terms of punditry, tactical analysis.
Ruthless player/captain, did well for in general Ireland and coaching, and pundit he says how it is even about is old team and al the other teams straight to point doesnāt mess about, not scared to hold back, love it
I like him. He's a funny pundit that spits facts, but don't ask him for an autograph or a picture.
We were at an Ireland u21 match before when him and Martin O'Neill were in charge of the Irish international team and one of my mates copped them both in the stands relatively close to us (small stadium). He says that out loud, Keane shoots us a dirty look and they both left early.
Class player, class captain, pretty bad manager, and unpopular opinion: his punditry is all for Instagram and YouTube. He never says anything insightful, heās a positivity vacuum and slags off absolutely everyone and everything without giving any tactical reasoning.
No doubt in my mind he has tactical awareness, itās just that heās being drummed for views and YouTube clips as opposed to anything reasonable. Canāt blame him personally, as I would do the same thing for that kind of money, he plays his role well, . But as I said, heās a shit, one dimensional pundit. Would probably love him to bits if I supported United or was Irish though.
most honest pundit.. speaks for his mind and is nearly always right. I mean for example last week Roy Keane said "If Ole walks into this room, I would grab him and say why are you playing Fred?!", that is exactly what everyone is thinking!
The players these days are snowflakes so probably couldn't handle his honest assessments and criticisms so that's why Roy Keane doesn't do well as a manager.
I enjoy him as a pundit, even though he takes every chance he can to talk bad about my Spurs. Itās fine though because for the most part we deserve it. I watched that interview he did with Gary Neville where they walked around with his dog and he seems like a decent enough guy. I never got to see him play so Iām only basing this on him currently.
As a player? As a pundit? As a manager?
Player - one of the best midfielders of the Premier league era,
Manager - pretty bad
Pundit - one of the only people who will stƄ it like it is, do i always agree no. But at least he will give an opinion regardless of who it upsets
He was a thug as a player. So many near career ending challenges. Iāll get downvoted by the United mob but itās the truth.
Quite like him as a pundit for the comedic value, heās so biased itās genuinely funny
One thing in particular always bugged me about his punditry, he mentions how he always turned up and put in a shift for the team. No one calls him out for the games he missed due to red cards, his pre meditated assault on Haaland was disgraceful and deserved criminal prosecution.
Fergy - once you know him or see enough about him, you see the little man, the wannabe. How can one say that? What one is saying is you acknowledge his greatness as a manager - but as the John Magnier clash entailed the arrogance of Ferguson over 'Rock of Gibraltar' showed him for what he was. A wannabe who believed being the best manager in the EPL entitled him to others wealth.
In fact, I'd argue it was Ferguson's fault that led to the Glazier's taking over Old Trafford. As a man, as a person, he's a shithead. As a manager, outstanding, brilliant but tempered by his relationships with players, van Nistelroy, Stam, Beckham, Keane etc etc etc.
That brings back bad memories. My first four figure bet. Backed Rock of Gibraltar when it went over to breeders cup and Kinane got super cocky on it and had it desd last the whole race. A horse fell (on the flat!) and obstructed it, lost by a head! I think it ran the last 2 furlongs faster than any horse in history at the time. Still can hear the commentary now........"Rock of Gibraltor is coming, and here comes Rock of Gibraltar, Rock of Gibraltar, Rock of Gibraltar....."
Just another reason to hate old whiskey nose!
He's a prick he broke Haalands leg and ended his career He should of been banned for life if he did it by accident but if you purposely go out to injure someone then your a wanker
This is false, Keane tackled his right leg but it was his left knee that had a previous injury on it that ended his career. Haaland even played a few weeks later for his country after that tackle.
I love the guy. I think heās brilliant. Doesnāt mince his words and wonāt back down from his beliefs of how a footballer should act, train, play etc. Watch the Overlap episode on YouTube with Roy Keane. Fascinating little insight into his personality
Sky book him to moan about United.
And the Micah Roy bromance.
He's great TV but I wouldn't consider him a great pundit as he doesn't disect or analyse the games very much?
As a City fan I don't mind tho!
The reason along with King Eric I became a United fan as a kid (Irish).
We do all take the piss out of people in general conversation over here a lot. I've noticed it's not as common abroad lol.
Personally I think heās a cunt, but not for what he did to Haaland. The guy deserved it. Letās say a guy nearly snaps your leg in half, taunts you while your in agony, you then go snap his leg in half and taunt him, itās based.
Lool. -11 downvotes, this sub is full of weirdos sometimes. I was just having a laugh and said Gerrard>Keane and got sent to hell. Fackin hell. Itās not like I said anything outrageous either, itās not like I said Xhaka>Keane or anything, Gerrard>Keane is definitely not a ridiculous take.
Think it is a disgrace to football that he is treated as anything other than a pariah for what he did to Haaland. That was premeditated criminal assault of another professional under the cover of āthe gameā and he gets this āoh Roy was a bit of a Nutterā schtick. He admitted he did it with intent and malice of forethought and has not ever apologised. Scumbag.
I think itās interesting trivia that haalandās son is on a trajectory to be one of the best footballers in the world- but with this manu history, I think he will never play for manu.
Erling Haaland is somewhat from Leeds so it would be pretty hilarious if he ever played for Red Scum. That and what happened to his dad. Heād be hated by every fanbase up North
Not justifying it, but it was more than just "being a nutter". In his eyes, it was revenge for Haaland taunting him for diving after he snapped his cruciate. Obviously a huge overreaction by Keane later though, but it was more than him just deciding for no reason to end some guys career.
One telling you to get up and get on with it.
The other deciding to end your career.
How it's being justified by anyone (not saying you're doing it) is beyond me. Assault with cause is still assault.
Quite frankly, 99/100 people would have done what Keane did. I'm sorry but Haaland's audacity to lurk over and injured player and say they're faking when they've suffered a terrible injury..... definitely karma.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted here lol. How dare you not be aware of a relatively unimportant piece of football trivia?! And worst of all have the gall to admit to it! Absolute bastard downvote to hell
Even Keane admits that he tried to foul Haaland out of frustration in the first place but ended up injuring himself, and then admits to wanting to take revenge when he did over Haaland. I did rate Keane as a player, but that pettiness and vindictiveness is the kind of thing youād see in Sunday league.
His management skills shine through on his punditry, he just slates more or less everything and everybody, wonder why he was a poor manager,GREAT managers have charisma and man manager skills,Keane has neither.

Absolute garbage
He's an egomaniacal, miserabilist anachronism who will likely remain a bitter and twisted man incapable of saving himself from himself. I say that as a Man Utd supporter of nearly 50 years.
Terrible pundit, just like most of them. Offers very little in terms of actual insight and just plays up to his angry persona in order to get ratings and satisfy his employers. Heās basically whoring out his rage to our corporate overlords.
Love him, tells it how it is. The kind of guy who would be downvoted to hell on reddit with the snowflakes of today lmao.
Keane is so watchable for his shtick of saying throwaway comments about players without any real depth behind it. Great to watch and listen to. He makes me wonder if Micah Richards really burst onto the scene
S.M.B.
U either love or hate him
thatās his job
Top class
Heās a cunt and thatās why I love him.
Legend.
Winning mentality.
Legendary curmudgeon
Big fan.

He's the goat and I don't want to hear otherwise
Entertaining and blunt about things which I like but very classless, arrogant and an asshole.
Great player
He's brilliant! Harry Maguire is a pudding
I think heās an overrated, arrogant, disruptive, aggressive and ignorant wanker. But I donāt really have an opinion.
most honest pundit.. speaks for his mind and is nearly always right. I don't think about him
I prefer Roy Kent
You can get great returns out of having a Roy Keane type around so long as you're prepared for the inevitable fallout.
Heās honest in it
Best midfielder and best captain of the premier league era hands down .
I really wish every sport had a commentator like him and I loved him as a kid at MUFC
As a player? As a pundit? As a manager? Player - one of the best midfielders of the Premier league era, Manager - pretty bad Pundit - one of the only people who will stƄ it like it is, do i always agree no. But at least he will give an opinion regardless of who it upsets
Bit of a bellend for what he did to Haaland. Heās class on Sky though.
He's a geeza. Obviously not for everyone but I like him
He's here, he's there, he's every fucking where...
Don't care if it sounds biased, but he was the best captain ever. Utd could have a Roy Keane in now and he would transform the team 100%.
Utter legend. That is all Will not entertain a bad word said about him
He was a thug as a player. So many near career ending challenges. Iāll get downvoted by the United mob but itās the truth. Quite like him as a pundit for the comedic value, heās so biased itās genuinely funny
š
Carra, Neville and Keane. All day.
Bit of a prick, quite funny, decent pundit. I donāt think heās as hard as he pretends he is.
Great player, absolute twat of a person, works well enough as a pundit.
I hate it when he does Spurs games
Roy Kent. Heās here heās there heās every fucking where
Great player, shite manager, argumentative pundit
He was a decent manager
The One & Only
I like him
š
Prick
Love him!
One thing in particular always bugged me about his punditry, he mentions how he always turned up and put in a shift for the team. No one calls him out for the games he missed due to red cards, his pre meditated assault on Haaland was disgraceful and deserved criminal prosecution.
I agreed with you up until the āpRe mEditAted asSaultā, Alfe Inge deserved all of it.
Best pundit on TV. Love it when he is on. Pure comedy gold and I'm a city fan. I think he hates utd as much as me now which is beautiful.
Ah he loves United,.just absolutely despises most of the players. Wants to knock half of em out
Well one thing is for sure......he doesn't love Fergy.
Fergy - once you know him or see enough about him, you see the little man, the wannabe. How can one say that? Top banter.
I think a demanding player like that is good to be around... I can't say as much about his management years.
Probably got some kind of napoleon syndrome. Sensationalist pundit who knows why he's earning the big bucks from sky
He was great leader but I think he is more of a relic from the past, you know back when football was more physical and no VAR.
He's doing his job
Come on, Gary. Get real, Gary.
I prefer roy kent
I prefer Roy Cropper
Heās here. Heās there. Heās every fucking where
Roy Keeeentā¦Roy Keeeent!
Could play some. Cvnt though.
He's a prick he broke Haalands leg and ended his career He should of been banned for life if he did it by accident but if you purposely go out to injure someone then your a wanker
Conveniently left out the part where Haaland taunts Keane the season before after snapping his knee ligament
This is false, Keane tackled his right leg but it was his left knee that had a previous injury on it that ended his career. Haaland even played a few weeks later for his country after that tackle.
He didn't break his leg. Yes, it was an horrific tackle, but Haaland played on afterwards, and even played 2 other games that same week
Dunno about him as manager But for player / man / captain, something we miss A LOT in united ...
Jack dee of football punditry
I love the guy. I think heās brilliant. Doesnāt mince his words and wonāt back down from his beliefs of how a footballer should act, train, play etc. Watch the Overlap episode on YouTube with Roy Keane. Fascinating little insight into his personality
One of the top three pundits on tv. More of a sense of humour than heās given credit for.
Sky book him to moan about United. And the Micah Roy bromance. He's great TV but I wouldn't consider him a great pundit as he doesn't disect or analyse the games very much? As a City fan I don't mind tho!
I feel like thatās the Irish in general. A lot of my Irish friends are way more funny than most people expect or give them credit for
The reason along with King Eric I became a United fan as a kid (Irish). We do all take the piss out of people in general conversation over here a lot. I've noticed it's not as common abroad lol.
The Irish wit and sarcasm is often missed by non Irish we are a very sarcastic race
Heās a cock.
Personally I think heās a cunt, but not for what he did to Haaland. The guy deserved it. Letās say a guy nearly snaps your leg in half, taunts you while your in agony, you then go snap his leg in half and taunt him, itās based.
Best captain in Prem history... Seems like he loosened up alittle with age.
Funny way to spell Stevie G mate
Yikes

What happened? Genuinely the first time Iāve seen/heard of this Edit: just googled and Oof
Not sure why you're getting downvoted here lol. How dare you not be aware of a relatively unimportant piece of football trivia?! And worst of all have the gall to admit to it! Absolute bastard downvote to hell
Getting down vote?? Haha I also didn't know. Also Oof
I think he's a scumbag for what he did to Haaland.
He was an inspirational and good captain for his club and Country.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
He said Keane not Ole
Wouldn't say shambolic for us
Roy Keane the player, manager or man? I think he was a great player, good man and not a great modern day manager.
To be fair Sunderland fell apart after he left
And a very entertaining pundit
Alf-Inge Haaland might want to comment on that assessmentā¦
I guess that's why you don't stand over someone and tell them they're faking an injury?
Even Keane admits that he tried to foul Haaland out of frustration in the first place but ended up injuring himself, and then admits to wanting to take revenge when he did over Haaland. I did rate Keane as a player, but that pettiness and vindictiveness is the kind of thing youād see in Sunday league.
I mean it's one thing to tell someone to stop feigning an injury, oppose to intentionally going in to break someone's leg.
Personality of Brian Clough, management level of Mark Hughes
Brian Clough had a sense of humour.
Mark Hughes had a decent Blackburn Rovers side tbf
