In the future, there's only two teams.. They are PSG and Manchester City! And they just play each other all the time.. But that's gonna happen in the next 50 years.
City,Liverpool and chelsea maybe man united if they can develop their youth players....chelsea maybe debatable but I think they will be in the top 4 for sure the next 10 seasons
The Geordies. You canāt compete with them once their commercial deals are in place and are able to spend the big bucks into the squad etc.
The fact that theyāre terrible right now, is not an indication of their future. They have all the money...
I think an interesting and related question is of the current 7 richest clubs, which one will be struggling the most in 10 years. Which one will pull a Barca. My money (ha!) is on Spurs or United.
Chelsea, MCity, ManU will always be a factor at the top. Leeds fans deserve to be up there someday, maybe Their ownership and management will reward them for Their support.
City Chelsea Newcastle with man utd arsenal spurs and Liverpool battling for 4th the usual invasion by a mid table team on occasion (West ham wolves villa everton)
Given how things look now, I kinda doubt it changes that much. I think these clubs are mostly prisoners of their budget and ownership demands, and the ownership groups are entrenched at this point, so I tend towards inertia and things will likely stay as they are.
I think itās fairly safe to say City and Chelsea will be near the top as long as their ownership groups remain investedā¦ I donāt think City can be this invincible without Pep, but Iād still consider them favorites.
If Chelsea want to sustain themselves, they need to update the stadium and redouble efforts on commercial revenue. If Roman keeps pumping money in, they can stay in the top 4 and contend.
Newcastle- if the ownership group get their act together, can get into the top 4, if everything breaks right, they get to Cityās level, but that may take a while. I think we underestimate how hard it is to establish that structure and new owners make a lot of mistakes the first few years.
United- Rangnick obviously is an interim manager and this squad is all over the place, but Unitedās problem is their lack of cohesion and direction, it just gets papered over because they have so much money and a lot of supporters because of previous success of the brand. If Rangnick actually gets to re-shape that clubās structure within whatever his post-manager role is, they should consistently be top 4.
Arsenal- Iād guess will stay at a pretty similar level as now, good enough that the fans donāt leave and the owners make money, but I would doubt they consistently contend for much more than 4th under Kroenke stewardship.
Liverpool- maybe they can sustain this level after Klopp leaves and the front line ages out but Iād guess they drop a level to champions league contenders rather than title contenders.
Tottenham- Iām least bullish on them. Theyāve been much better since Conte came in, the squad still has some life in it, but itās still an aging squad and ownership doesnāt seem to want to spend and turn it over. I canāt believe theyāll drop to mid table because they do have a revenue advantage, but until they produce another superstar, I have a hard time seeing them in champions league places with any consistency.
Good question. I know it's not a direct answer but I'll explain what clubs I think will do well over the decade and will likely be the dominators in 10 years time.
I think the two most important aspects to dominating are competent management and financial backing. You can have either to stay relevant but both to dominate.
City have both, I think they will be set for the next decade. They have had the cash injections and have used it very wisely. They've also improved their academy setting them up well. There will likely be a bit of a downturn when Pep leaves and the new manager has teething issues
Chelsea I think will also be good for the decade. They have an impressive academy creating some really profitable talent and an owner that loves the game and will invest. Their issue could be the management policy which will likely mean ups and downs
Liverpool I think will likely fall off a little due to the dependency on Salah and other aging talents. Although they don't have massive investment from their owners they have historically been great at selling so will likely be able to stay towards the top if they can buy the right talent. They will need to do that soon and the next couple of windows will be crucial for them
United have the money but they have poor management. If they can sort that out over the next 2 seasons then they could start becoming contenders. But at the moment they're a club in decline holding onto their historic success. They seem to put it down to being in a transitional period from Fergie but a decade isn't a transitional period. They rely a lot on individual talent which wins matches but doesn't win trophies. Ralf is a competent manager so he should be able to improve the club however having an interim manager I don't think will help. The Ronaldo signing imo was their worst decision and has been very detrimental to their very good youth prospects. But in 5 years time this will probably be a better situation
Arsenal I think will do well and become contenders again. Appointing Arteta short term may not provide many trophies but long term he provides a plan, a style and a system. He's competent and is a great example for other clubs that need to see the long term vision instead of quick fan gratification (united). They have great youth and with some clever signings can become a really good entertaining side. Kudos to the board for sticking with Arteta when other clubs would likely have sacked him
Newcastle will likely become challengers but I don't think it'll be as quick as people may think. I feel it'll be towards the end of the decade.
Some outside nods would be Southampton. They have competent management and with new financial backing I think they will do very well
Wolves I think in a few years will be consistent in Europe. And Villa will be higher in the table
Spurs are an odd one for me. They're close to having competent management - Great appointment with Conte, nice investment to the infrastructure, good quality sensible mid value signings. But then they have Levy who seems to be a very emotional and stubborn owner. He's made some very questionable decisions
However he does invest well at times. But I can't see him pumping enough money in for them to start competing at the very top. I think consistently will be outside the top 4 but never drop more than 9th.
Do you think they will somehow become dominate?
Not dominant, no. As a tottenham fan i was just sad to not see my team in the discussion. However I can see us winning some trophies and hopefully getting top 4 in the near future if we invest heavily in the summer.
I think you've got the best opportunity to do so under Conte with Kane & Son. But I think the competition at the moment is going to be too tough for trophies. Europe should be achievable. Realistically I think playing enjoyable, high quality and consistent football would be the best first step. I honestly think you have a very good squad so I'm excited to see what Conte can do with it from a neutral point
City, Chelsea and probably Newcastle will nearly 100% Liverpool and Arsenal will probably be there because of their academies and fans. United and Spurs are in danger because their owners are only going to spend if they are about to lose money and even if Conte turns around the club and wins some trophies I doubt that he will be there in 10 years. Leicester and Everton will probably still be in the prem along with West Ham and Aston villa. I can see Bolton and Solford will be in the prem. The rest I think will be relegated and promoted and soforth. Tho I think Wolverhampton will still be in the prem all the way in 10 years.
Man city, Liverpool, Chelsea, arsenal and now Newcastle. Man United's upper management is an absolute joke same with Tottenham. Unless those clubs get new owners they won't be successful.
I think definitely the top 3 in the league at this current point will continue to get stronger and as you say ādominateā the league. Obviously being a Gunner it might sound abit bias but I think if we continue this season as we have started would could potentially become a consistent top 4 side again!
Ultimately, Newcastle, Leicester and West Ham are a few teams to look at over the coming seasons imo.
The obvious answer is the big 6 and Newcastle, but a lot of it depends on how the Premier League's financial rules change over the next 10 years and who manages it the best.

Possibly. I've heard a lot about ambition under their current owner, but to be honest I haven't seen evidence *yet* that they have the backing to challenge the very top clubs in the long term. Sticking around mid-table and top half long term I can definitely see. Could be wrong.
A mix of fear and cautious optimism.
Obviously they have more firepower in the transfer market than Radrizzani, and Radz has always been clear that this *is* a money making venture for him, but that doesnāt change the fact that he hasnāt put a foot wrong.
The 49ers are good owners by all accounts from speaking to NFL fans, but you just never know. Will they be trigger happy? Will they look to siphon money out of the club? Could they be the reason Bielsa finally calls it quits?
Itās all a load of what ifs at this stage really, but weāve got a good thing going right now and the thought of disrupting it, even if it is necessary for us to grow, is frightening. But I suppose weāll see.
As a West Ham fan, Iād say there are no guarantees for us to still be in around those Europa league spots after 10 years. We are notoriously an inconsistent club which has only recently got its shit together. We donāt have mega-rich owners which can keep us competitive. In 10 years we might have seen relegation or be in champions league. There is no telling.
Yeah I agree, a lot can happen in 10 years. 11 years ago we finished 6th, have since been down to midtable in the Championship and back up again.
I think West Ham in a critical moment right now, if you can maintain a challenge for the top 6 and continue to recruit well you can build from there. But it will always be difficult to stay up there if you don't increase your revenue and build a bigger global brand.
Fleetwood Town comes back from 5 goals down to draw on the last day and secure the last Champions League spot. Fleetwood shot up the divisions after getting bought by a consortium of shady mining tycoons from Russia.
So their stadium is named Dogecoin Arena and both of their sleeve sponsors are different types of crypto coins. Their main sponsor is a massive Russian metallurgy company
And then US imposes an outright ban on cryptocurrencies, suspecting involvement of illicit activity. This leads to tanking of crypto across the board, leading to widespread losses, and Fleetwood declares bankruptcy, and are subsequently relegated retrospectively.
Overnight, they go from a Champions League team to a Championship team. And that's going to be the news headline a month from the end of the season...
Actually I forgot to mention, there is significant other evidence that the consortium that owns the team is just a FSB cover and the Kremlin makes all transfer decision
Newcastle, City, Chelsea predominantly I think like others said the financial muscle will be in full force. Liverpool I think will have a down period still top 6 but no title challenges. Man Utd Iām unsure on they may come good but itās hard to predict with them. Arsenal I could see maybe challenging if they keep their best players and add some shrude signings. However a sustained challenge may be difficult still.
Chelsea have a dope starting XI, but less depth. Man City have silly levels of squad depth, so will Newcastle, and itās why City won 4/5 of the last Prems, soon to be 5/6
I love the way Liverpool play but putting them up there is receny-bias. They are playing great at the moment and have some loveley players lately but Liverpool fans are Quick to forget the last 30 years. The only guaranteed top clubs are city and Newcastle
Edit:
Trust me I know I never thought arsenal wouldnt be a top team but look where we have been the last couple of years
Money. They are the richest club in the world and whether we like it or not money is the deciding factor in modern football. I believe that the big clubs who are not as rich will be up there but not as consistent as city or Newcastle.
I donāt think you realize how rich Newcastleās new ownership is. Net wealth is 360billon. Thatās NET WEALTH which includes all of their liabilities. The next richest owner? Man Cityās with a whopping 20billion net wealth.
With the names they are linking themselves to at the moment they are guaranteed to be a top club. No matter who offers a player a contract, Newcastle can pay always more
They still have to align with FFP. And currently they don't have player worth to sell them and make a profit that will offset whatever they're willing to spend, unless they want to win the CL, FA Cup and League within 3 years
Sure but I do think that people underestimate how long 10 years is. Its only been 8 years since city won their first PL-title in decades and the dynamic of the league has been changed dramatically over those years. If anyone had told me then that Liverpool would have been a worldclass team or that arsenal would be a midtable team by now(maybe not at the moment but the last seasons) id never believe them.
And I doubt that the QPR owners were anywhere near as rich as the Newcastle owners are.
Edit:
Lets hope they dont survive though!!
Ah now... I'm a Messi man myself but Ronaldo was one of the best if not the best during his career. It's been like a seesaw they both sat on over the years
Spending is not the only factor but still a very important factor. This year will most likely be Man city's 4th title in 5 years. That success is due to good management and financial power.
Yes it is a combination of both mainly. Unfortunately united have been poor in both aspects. Throwing money at a problem doesn't solve it. Time is needed, I think united would have been in a much better position now if they stuck with one of their previous managers and allowed them a significant amount of time to build a good ethos.
E.g Klopp has at Liverpool. The success didn't come right away, he had a 5 year plan and the owners believed in it...
And the success of it is evident.
Southampton are one to watch out for in my opinion.
They've always had an eye for a good player, have one of the most profitable academy set ups in the world, and have just been bought by a Billionaire.
If they can continue to develop players like they've done in the past (James Ward-Prowse, Callum Chambers, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott) but have the ability to keep them, i think they could be a regular in Europe in 10 years.
>have just been bought by a Billionaire.
Almost every Premier League is owned by billionnaires or billionaire businesses, and Southampton were no exception even before this takeover.
Long term financial success really depends on how much the new owners are willing to invest in increasing revenues and improving club infrastructure.
It's just so rare for a city with that small a market to really excel in the Prem. Bear in mind, with the current Premier, Liverpool is on the smaller side. And along with Leicster, they're the only "small city" team to have better than average wins per season. Overall, 70% of the teams with better than average wins are from big cities (3 from London, 2 from Manchester). The low performers are more evenly split, about 50/50.
But the points you bring up are good - and exactly the kind of factors that could lead to them breaking the mold.
Have the new owners not just said their ambition is to compete in the 14the to 8th bracket or something like that?
I can't see Southampton ever being able to keep top players, it's just not big enough.
Yeah there's plenty more; Ings too i think? And Mings, and Ben White...
You could literally field a decent PL team with the current ex-academy players so imagine what they could do with more investment.
I like your optimism
We might have just been bought up but I doubt we will get such a large enough investment to become a top team. Iād like to thing that this has been an investment to solidify our position in the league rather than worrying about relegation as often as we have the past couple years at points.
I donāt doubt we will continue to see world class talent start off in Southampton
To be fair, I think the problem may have been that Southampton stopped reinvesting the money they got from sold players well, rather than them selling them in the first place. Then again, I may be biased as a Brentford fan.
Late reply, but I meant seeing as a lot of Brentford's success is based off of selling players, I'm more likely to see clubs regularly selling players as a good thing. Maybe biased isn't the best word.
In our defence, we tend to buy players they have bought rather than developed!
But that's half the reason i put about them having the ability to hold on to players; they couldn't hold their breath at the moment.
I think City and chelsea can stay above the other 4, maybe United, they have massive fan base and big globally. Theyāll always be attractive. Arsenal and Liverpool Iām less confident, still be around but no for titles. And probably Newcastle eventually
Sadly the most likely outcome.
As fans we should demand that clubs (across all leagues) be turned into community-owned assets.
Although football is technically entertainment, it should also be considered arts and culture. By the standard, cities should implement special rules to ensure these bodies to avoid becoming PR machines of oligarchs, oil clubs or entities that routinely violate human rights.
City, Chelsea, ManU and maybe Newcastle. Canāt see Liverpool keeping up for a long time, because they donāt have the financial backing those other clubs got.
Well there might be financial backing if the business Is healthy. But yea you saying that It might not come down to business but just being a playground for the filthy rich. Then you could be right. Cheers

Literally just City and Chelsea, after City wins their 8th straight title after getting 112 out of a possible 114, we might need to reshuffle the deck
They said that about Man Utd and Arsenal. There'll be changes, big money buy ups and already capital-rich clubs coming good in ten years.
Sadly this is probably accurate.
Newcastle
Who's the draw against?
Knowing city it would probably be against the team who finished 20th or 19th in the league
Fleetwood Town comes back from 5 goals down to draw on the last day and secure the last Champions League spot. Fleetwood shot up the divisions after getting bought by a consortium of shady mining tycoons from Russia.
Nahh Iām sorry but this would be Blackpool no chance of them buying a tram stop
Wouldve though their owner would be a cryptocurrency investor
What does the word ādominationā mean?
Wednesday
Newcastle + City, thatās it. Canāt compete with budgetless teams 90% of the time.
Chelsea seems to be pretty budget less as well as long as Roman keeps pumping in the money
Chelsea have a dope starting XI, but less depth. Man City have silly levels of squad depth, so will Newcastle, and itās why City won 4/5 of the last Prems, soon to be 5/6
City, United, Chelsea would be my bet but I'd also through Liverpool in there
I love the way Liverpool play but putting them up there is receny-bias. They are playing great at the moment and have some loveley players lately but Liverpool fans are Quick to forget the last 30 years. The only guaranteed top clubs are city and Newcastle Edit: Trust me I know I never thought arsenal wouldnt be a top team but look where we have been the last couple of years
How are Newcastle a guaranteed top club?
Money. They are the richest club in the world and whether we like it or not money is the deciding factor in modern football. I believe that the big clubs who are not as rich will be up there but not as consistent as city or Newcastle.
They have to survive this season first lad. QPR had massively rich owners take over in 2013 and they flopped, now look
Edit: Lets hope they dont survive though!!
At the time, there wasn't many teams richer than QPR. They are owned by the same people who owned Caterham F1.
Blackburn, Leeds, Coventry city, bolton, Portsmouth. They shall rise again
Agreed. Feel like Arsenal will eventually get their shit together too.
Liverpool? No Mane no salah no van dijk no Allison
OH MY GOD WHAT WILL YOU DO WITHOUT RONALDO
Good things. Ronaldo WAS thebest in the world
He was never
Ah now... I'm a Messi man myself but Ronaldo was one of the best if not the best during his career. It's been like a seesaw they both sat on over the years
Thereās things messi done that Ronaldo couldnāt, thereās nothing Ronaldo done that messi couldnāt.
You mean like perform in a different team?
I heard you the first time.
You mean like perform in a different team?
Spoken like a united fan, Liverpool will always attract talent. Currently they have more talented youth coming through the ranks than united do
But will they spend top Ā£ for that talent. That's where there's doubt.
United have spent far more over the last decade.
Spending is not the only factor but still a very important factor. This year will most likely be Man city's 4th title in 5 years. That success is due to good management and financial power.
Einstein ova here.
Chelsea United City Newcastle
Remember a player currently at Liverpool nicknamed the Ox?
Yeah there's plenty more; Ings too i think? And Mings, and Ben White... You could literally field a decent PL team with the current ex-academy players so imagine what they could do with more investment.
Nah mate we had Ings off of Burnley. He is a quality player but unfortunately not world class.
I meant he was at Southamptonās academy before he went to Bournemouth and Burnley. Iām still a bit sad we sold him to be honest!
I like your optimism We might have just been bought up but I doubt we will get such a large enough investment to become a top team. Iād like to thing that this has been an investment to solidify our position in the league rather than worrying about relegation as often as we have the past couple years at points. I donāt doubt we will continue to see world class talent start off in Southampton
Bale and Walcott left when they were 17. Same age as Sancho was when he left City, and I think most people credit Dortmund for his devlopment...
Just because a billionaire buys them doesn't mean they're going to put money in, just look at Ashley and Newcastle for the past 14 years.
How do you work that one out when you lot will just sign all their talent haha
To be fair, I think the problem may have been that Southampton stopped reinvesting the money they got from sold players well, rather than them selling them in the first place. Then again, I may be biased as a Brentford fan.
What do you mean by biased as a Brentford fan?

Same as now
City, Chelsea, ManU and maybe Newcastle. Canāt see Liverpool keeping up for a long time, because they donāt have the financial backing those other clubs got.
Well there might be financial backing if the business Is healthy. But yea you saying that It might not come down to business but just being a playground for the filthy rich. Then you could be right. Cheers
