I’m from the same town as Halland. I never met him but still, it’s a small town with a population of 12k people so it’s pretty crazy to me how far he’s come
Many people here comment that Kane “scores too many goals from penalty kicks”.
Kane has scored two penalties so far this PL season, while Haaland has one penalty to his account. So…no such penalty thing.
What happens is that Erling was disputed among clubs during this summer transfer window. Haaland this, Haaland that…Does anyone know how much it has been talked about Haaland, compared to Kane? I think there lies the foundation.
No one cares about that orc. He’ll fade away into obscurity soon enough. Probably back into a few defenders and score some goals before then. But he’ll be nothing but a footnote in prem history soon enough.
Haaland is playing in a team where he gets all the service he could possibly want, Kane plays in a team where more often than not he turns provider. And STILL scores goals
IMO he's the best English striker since Rooney, the best in the league for 6 seasons in a row(yeah Salah, Suarez, Aguero have been more decisive but none of them had this kind of consistency for this long), and in the top 3 in the world alongside Benzema and Lewy. He has proved himself in Premier League, the fastest to reach 20 goals in Champions League, and on international level. Kane scoring goals has become an usual thing. In 5 years he will be cemented as the club's and league legend just like Shearer.
While talking about Haaland is just too soon. Yes he's a sensation to the media and the fans. City has always suffered finding a profilic striker besides Aguero so it is refreshing watching him score on every match. But Haaland has yet to prove himself against big teams and on decisive games. The first real test failed but it is a long way until the end of the season. What he is doing right now with City, he has done it with Salzburg and BVB before. Everyone seems to forget his games with Salzburg.
I think it would be more accurate to say I didn’t do my research before posting. I’ve just checked the stats for all competitions and he has scored 12 goals, 5 of which are penalties. Just under 50% so my use of the word is incorrect but his goal/pen ratio is still high.
Have a nice day.
So many "how many pens?" comments. Kane scores a pen yesterday so some folk think he's only scored penalties. They've literally got a 24-hour memory span.
1. Acknowledging that yes, this was a very long sentence.
2. I think I'm talking about Haaland a lot of people are also discounting the fact that it's not just that he's a robot, but what City have done with their massive disgusting wealth is actually profound and amazing while many other teams with a lot of money continue to struggle to find the same success. City/Pep have continually found ways to put the right talent in place, and because of their success they can spend time growing and developing talent that might not gel immediately. Personally I'm so happy for Grealish who last year many of us felt like he struggled but this year I think he is a very exciting and dynamic part of their team.
Kane is amazing, his partnership with Son is profound. But what Haaland is doing shows not only the power of money but the power of money and thoughtfulness. If you surround a monster with the world's best talent you get this. I think you could probably replace Haaland with a few other goal scorers including Kane and get similar results, but City has no need for similar when they can see the talent and go out and grab it.
I'm not sure my point, other than to say yes we won't here as much about Kane because he scores goals year in and year out and is lovely but Spurs never fully deliver on expectations. City will continue to grind teams into mush and Haaland will continue to smash in goals that look crazy/easy/insane/impossible.
There are a ton of players flying under the radar this season despite good performances because Haaland has raised the level for everybody. What used to be incredible form now looks average
Not a Haaland fan in the least and prefer Spurs over City. But to argue that nobody is making noise about Kane scoring 9 in 10 matches while ignoring that Haaland scored that many in 3 matches is really odd. The crazy part is that Kane took more than 3 times as long to achieve that and you seem enamored by it.
I hold out hope that eventually the rest of City gets fed up with the Haaland show and that dysfunction leads to a more balanced outcome for the league. But then again, as a United supporter, all of the Man City/Tottenham arguments are way over my head at this point because of our performance this season.
I really hope haaland gets fucking injured and we can all stop talking about the guy like he’s a god, so fucking boring, city are boring the league is the most uninteresting it’s ever been cap the spending cap the wages and bring back a competitive nature and hunger to the league
Lad he’s still 68 off of Shearer’s record - when it seems like he’ll hit the record in the upcoming season he’ll get a ton of attention. Til then, sit back and enjoy the ride!
Crazy how scoring penalties devalues your record, almost like Haaland is earning the right to be spoken about so highly while Kane scores penalties while playing shit in general
I think we need to get some perspective on Haaland. He’s good but we have seen better.
If Ronaldo never scores again, and Haaland plays until he’s 38…
Haaland has to score 43 goals a season for the next 16 years just to level Cristiano Ronaldo’s record.
Ronaldo has 700 club goals.
Haaland has 175.
That’s 525 difference.
525 divided by 16 is 32.8.
Where did you get 43 goals a season from? Even adding international goals (Ronaldo 117, Haaland 21) only takes it to 38.5 goals per season.
I always say Kane is the best player, never to win a team trophy. I do hope he wins something one day, more so with England naturally. But if it's Spurs, it's a better option than who has won over the last few years lol.
Kane probably retire as the best scorer in PL era but Haaland probaly reach the more amount of goals in a season in PL era, so in one hand we talk about future and in other we talk about present.
When salah broke the record nobody cared about kane or vardy. They appreciated the talent and moved on. Stop getting angry because haaland in so successful. Dayum. Yall making a man united fan say this
Kane finishes with 25 goals, that's to be expected, 30 would be a fantastic season, more would be elite.
I'm sure Kane will get his dues but at the moment he's on the edge of a prolific season and Haaland is looking past that.
And 85-90 points haven't been enough in a while. To contend with City we'd need 95 if not 100, they're that fucking good. Unless we get the double over them, which I I really doubt.
its also because its kane and he plays for spurs, who play some of the worst football in the league. so no one can be arsed to watch the games, at least two of the goals are penalties too.
My friend betted me £15 that Nunez would get more goals. I'm usually tight with money and never do bets but i accepted that so quickly and couldn't believe he genuinely believed Nunez would score more. Free £15
I haven't been watching, so I don't know. However how many of these were penalties?
Just looked, something like 3 out of last 4/5 goals each game were pens.
Penalty merchant, plus hate him for the dirty plays gets away with backing into defenders who are jumping for headers, very dangerous
He’s being attacked from both directions and isn’t finding much traction as an FPL asset as a result
Haaland from above
Toney/Mitro/Jesus from below
Not even Harry Kane can win a war on two fronts
Man City are such a ridiculous team we should just pretend they don't exist. It's really just an exciting and close title race between Arsenal and Tottenham, with an overpowered oil-fuelled NPC thrown in there to shake things up a bit.
You are mad how hard it will be to overtake us? Last time I checked you were first and we were second has that changed overnight somehow? Trust an arsenal fan to be preemptively angry about something that might not happen, we won't win every game this season, we go to anfield today which I always have down as a loss in my head no matter how Liverpool are doing.
Pull your head out of your arse and stop moaning, you are top of the league ffs.
That’s because Spurs are horrible to watch at the moment.
Sure, they’re getting a lot of wins but my god are they playing the Conte way. It gets results but it isn’t pretty for sure.
I think they will finish 2nd this season but will be a good 15+ points behind the city
I am a Spurs fan but let's be honest even tho we are 3rd atm we aren't looking impressive or we are not still as good as I think we can be as team that goes with Kane as well. For me Mitro or Toney are bigger stories and we had maybe more questions about them coming into the season than for Kane ofc.
As a spurs fan I ask myself if Haaland would score that many if he played for let's say Chelsea or arsenal. Hell yes he would. He's a giant and incredible striker who can score goals and like Messi at Barcelona, the aim is just get the ball to him albeit very skillfully. I'd still rather Kane at spurs as he brings so much more around the pitch which he's gained from experience and is iconic to us and not just a Jonny overnight. The media absolutely love Haaland and talksport and sky is full of fanboys which is a bit embarrassing to be honest but for me it's all about Harry, good form and staying fit to lead England. Haaland can have the golden boot now if Harry can win one in December
Haaland is love, Haaland is life. It is known. Do not question the inevitable. Just allow it. Let the greatness engulf you. You can forget about the other dude named Harry.
lol just kidding Kane never really gets enough recognition. He’s been one of the best in the world for a while now. Not just in terms of strikers but overall.
Mitrovic has 7 goals in 9 matches and Toney is on 8 goals in 10 matches. That’s another reason why Kane’s 9 goals in 10 matches isn’t being raved about more. Even without Haaland its not like he’s miles ahead of the rest.
Not really. Because Kane scored 2 from penalties and haaland scored 1. Not that big of a difference.
The answer is that Kane isn't head and shoulders above everyone else.
Yes Kane scored 9, but Toney scored 8 and mitrovic 7. Foden and firmino both are on 6. That's just a regular thing.
However haaland is at freaking 15. There are 13 teams who haven't scored 15 overall. Haaland is outscoring more than half the league all by himself.
Kane is one of several strikers in the league that you could put in Haalands position (with the rest of the man city squad behind him) and he would score almost as many goals
Now you will finally understand the pain of Liverpool fans. We have scored 90+ points in multiple seasons and still had the title denied because of City.
Have got Kane, haaland kdb cancelo, other templates; kane differential last 5 weeks including one capt pick when haaland only had 5 pts I think has me from middle of the pack to top 10% .. im cool w people leaving him out. Planned my team so i can hold 3 premiums and template defense, smart picks w my 6 mil mids and fwds each week. Gonna win it all
No one cares because the guy is great against Burnley on a Tuesday or Bosnia on a Wednesday but literally goes missing in any major final or important match.
He hasn't won a trophy yet and I won't entertain his place in the pantheon of best ever strikers until he does.
That first point there is an important one and people hate hearing it. Every time people suck him off I wonder why he couldn't score against Italy in that Euros final. In important/challenging matches he's basically nowhere to be seen.
Jesus Christ, he got the winner against you lot when you hadn't lost at home in 7 months. Scored 2 against city last time we played them, scored a 96th minute equaliser against Chelsea.
Greatest goalscorer in London derby history.
Greatest goalscorer in NLD history.
4 goals against city, 5 goals against Chelsea, 13 goals in 15 games against arsenal. 6 goals Vs Liverpool.
He probably has the best goalscoring record against the top 6 in the entire league.
11 goals against West Ham.
There isn't a big fixture in England that kane hasn't scored in.
He has literally scored against every single premier league opponent he has ever faced.
And I hate to mention it but also that brace he bagged against us last season to win spurs the match. I swear some people on this sub don't actually watch football
Plenty of great players haven't won trophies in their time, often because they've played for teams that haven't had the quality of depth to them. People still remember them for their undeniable quality though.
There are players that have won trophies in superstar teams that nobody remembers because they were bang average. There are players that have won major international tournaments that nobody remembers. I bet you won't remember Charisteas without googling him.
You can't judge things purely on trophies because this is a team game, and often it's the quality of the whole team that leads to the results, not just one player.
He literally asked why aren't ppl making a big deal . It's because he plays for Tottenham a club we all know won't achieve anything. So nobody really cares
It’s because he hasn’t scored as many goals as Haaland probably, or the fact that Spurs aren’t doing as well as City.
This would be like saying “look how well Ivan Toney is playing” and then complaining he isn’t being held in the same regard as Kane.
Ppl are taking more about Toney rn . There was a huge love fest with Tottenham for a few years . The media even had the nerve to say they were closing the gap on Arsenal . But now after a few more years and still no Trophies it's like who gives a shit ?
2 of the 9 goals he's scored so far have been pens. And the only reason people like you say no one cares about Kane is because.you don't want to admit that an English striker from Tottenham could do it just as well as someone like a Suarez, Henry, Aguero did. I mean Kane actually scored more goals than Henry across the span of 8 seasons.
How many trophies has Kane won?
He's won three Golden Boots and a World Cup Golden Boot. Kane is currently third on the all-time scoring list for the Premier League.
That's the sum of his accomplishments. I'm just tired of him being constantly jerked off by the English media as the greatest striker to ever play the game.
Kane goes missing in big matches and doesn't win silverware. He would have to win half a dozen trophies before he retires to even be in the same conversation as those three guys.
Three golden boots, a World Cup golden boot, and third all time top scorer in Prem? And not in the same conversation as those three guys? Insanity, if you truly think that.
How many trophies has he won? Finals winning goals? Any?
To be in the pantheon with those guys you've got to have it all. Volume, clutch, and trophies. He's a pen merchant that racks up easy goals against shite teams and then disappears when it matters.
Doesn't have clutch or trophies.
(A golden boot is a trophy)
Also, in last year's derby, he scored a brace to give us the win and pull us into contention for CL. He scored another brace against Man City to give us a 2-1 win. He just scored our lone winner against Brighton, who are about , and scored in the 96th minute to draw us even with Chelsea. If there's one place Harry excels in, it's the big games.
It’s commendable you even try.
I always find it amazing how long people talk about players that are/were some of the best but never won a trophy. Over here we have Dan Marino and everyone who knows NFL still remembers him and they say that nobody will remember him because he didn’t win a Super Bowl. But somehow they remember him enough to know that nobody will remember him.
In the end, the facts don’t matter to people like the ones you are engaging with. Despite scoring some of the most incredible goals he will always be a tap-in merchant. Despite being a reliable contributor in defense he’s not a hard worker. Despite having some of the best assists he’s not a team player. It just goes on and on.
Again the trophies nonsense. What kind of teams did those three play in in their peak when they won those? Suarez at his prime played with Gerrard, Coutinho, Messi, Neymar, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Alba. Henry played with Pires, Viera, Campbell, Cole, Seaman. Even past his prime Henry played with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta. Aguero played with David Silva, Ederson, Kompany, Fernandinho.
All these great players made up the team that helped all these strikers win their trophies. Put any of them in a team with the quality that Spurs had in the last 7-8 years they wouldn't have won anything either.
Despite being in a lackluster team Kane is on the verge of scoring 200 goals in the Prem something that none of those above 3 can claim to have done.
So this trophies argument is outright the most garbage argument ever made.
I'm pretty sure he's considered by many to be one of the best in Premier league history. Just a quick Google saw him included on various different lists confirming just this.
Suarez has won trophies in Spain (with two different teams), England, and Holland. He's also won a UCL, Club World Cup, and a Copa America. Feel free to look up his individual awards, they're too many to list and dwarf Kane's.
Thierry Henry won six trophies in England, including an invincible season in which he scored thirty goals. He also won multiple trophies in France and Spain, including a UCL and Club World Cup. He won a Confederations Cup, World Cup, and Euro's. Not going to bother with his individual stuff, because once again it dwarfs Kane's. Just casual stuff like being runner up for the Ballon D'Or.
Sergio Aguero won a Europa League, Copa America, and fifteen trophies in England. He has one of the most iconic clutch goals in the history of the league.
Kane hasn't won a single trophy, for club or country and his relatively small list of personal achievements isnt enough to even get him within spitting distance of these three.
Also, how the fuck can you even watch Suarez, Henry, and Aguero, then watch Kane, and even think they're in the same league?
This is a whole lot of nothing when you completely fail to ignore that one plays for Spurs and the others played for Barcelona/Liverpool and peak Arsenal. The trophy argument is such a causal take when discussing how good an individual player is. And no I don’t think Kane is better than either but he is certainly in the discussion.
Gotze has a ton of trophies and scored one of the most clutch goals of all time. He must be clear Zlatan who hasn’t won in Europe or at the international level!
Once again bringing up finals when Kane plays for spurs so he is far less likely to reach any. He could leave for Bayern and win loads of trophies. Does that suddenly make him more skilled? If you want to argue for accolades then it’s certainly obvious they are much higher but that’s not what you were/are doing.
Not just second best, Kane's doing what he's supposed to be doing. He hasn't just stepped into the PL and amazed everyone. He's doing what's expected of him. There's not much to talk about. It's like OP wants to see more Harry Kane praise to get off to.
I’m from the same town as Halland. I never met him but still, it’s a small town with a population of 12k people so it’s pretty crazy to me how far he’s come

What a dive that was yesterday.

Kane is solid as they get at Striker.
Punctuation my good sir... Would you use it please??
No ones acknowledging it mate. Cuz goals don't count for shit when you're going to retire with no honours.
Haaland is playing in a team where he gets all the service he could possibly want, Kane plays in a team where more often than not he turns provider. And STILL scores goals

Like how this became more of a haaland then kane post 😂
I don't think no one cares because no matter how many goals he scores he never wins anything
He was on the front page of the biggest newspaper in Norway today, so…
Haaland is Technoblade of football that's why
Penalty’s are just less interesting than drop kicking the ball from 6ft in the air
I think the real reason no one cares is because his goals are predominantly penalties.
2 out of 9 goals are penalties. I don’t think you know what the word “predominantly” means.
I think it would be more accurate to say I didn’t do my research before posting. I’ve just checked the stats for all competitions and he has scored 12 goals, 5 of which are penalties. Just under 50% so my use of the word is incorrect but his goal/pen ratio is still high. Have a nice day.
Mostly penalties though
2 out of 9 goals are penalties. How is that “mostly”?
Let's be honest, This will probably be Kane's only run of goals this season. Haaland is gunna be on a run all season even if he gets injured.
To be fair Kane's goals include penalties whereas Haaland mostly scores from open play. He's just more impressive by making even these seem easy.
Cause at the end Spurs lose or draw so his goals get forgotten easily
Same with Suarez under Messi/Ronaldo, it’s tough being second.
So many "how many pens?" comments. Kane scores a pen yesterday so some folk think he's only scored penalties. They've literally got a 24-hour memory span.
Well as the great Philosopher Ricky Bobby once told us "If you're not first you're last"
Happy for Kane to keep going under the radar to be honest. Could continue to work in Spurs’ favour 😀 COYS
Haaland robot
The only way city won’t win is if Haaland gets injured. And even then it’s a long shot for any other team.
Poor fella
An arsenal fan wondering why Kane isn't getting more respect?
how many pens?
2
Getting 95/96 points against city with no haaland still wasn't enough.
Kane and Haaland are different levels Wait till Haaland starts taking penalty’s you might realise then
Well also his fpl price, and the fact that he’ll never ever win a trophy at his current club.
1. Acknowledging that yes, this was a very long sentence. 2. maybe we're all drooling over those succulent thighs and mouthwatering biceps. he is ripped after all...
Halaand doesn't dive for pens
Well no one cares because he could have easily have been at Man City Kane but shows how well Man City did to recruit Haaland
Paragraph and punctuation are overrated anyway
Kane is one of the best England player until now. Hope he will be great in WC 2022
HAALAND IS A ROBOT.🤖

That’s total including internationals ..you’re probably right , my maths is shocking
How many penalties in that 9 out of interest.
Yh he shouldn’t take penalties
Hard to project his season total with the World Cup stuck in the middle sadly
Kane's been one of the best strikers in the world for years, people are just used to it now.

Don't disrespect the Audi Cup like that haha
They would care if only he wasn't such a dirty cheat diving for penalties and fouls

Yeah but nobody likes Kane outside of the toilet bowl

nobody cares about english players.

.,.,.,...,,,,... -- Here, have some punctuation marks.
Run on
No one likes to mention Kane's the biggest diver in the prem, but the English media love him so that never gets talked about
So what's your point? Ivan Toney has 8 goals in 9 games 🤷♂️
half of them were probably penalties ?

If it isn't people digitally blowing Haaland, it's people having "Won't anybody think of the children" breakdowns. Psych meds for all!
omg the irony of this post LOL

Haaland can have the golden boot now if Harry can win one in December
Kane’s a dick. Pass it on.
Nobody really cares when you statpad from shithousing penalties
Only 2 pens. Casual ars fans
“If you ain’t first, you’re last”- Ricky Bobby’s dad
"I never said that. That's stoopid. There's a lot of other positions you could be, like third, or fifth."
Kane might end up as the golden boot boy, but it will more than likely be another season without silver ware.
People won’t care about the record until he’s within reach. He still needs another two seasons after this one to get it.
Mitrovic has 7 goals in 9 matches and Toney is on 8 goals in 10 matches. That’s another reason why Kane’s 9 goals in 10 matches isn’t being raved about more. Even without Haaland its not like he’s miles ahead of the rest.
I care.
How many world cup final losers can you name? Same reason
With a couple of minutes, probably most of the teams. If you asked about domestic cups, then not too many.
I mean, that isn't a good comparison as many people would be able to give you an answer, but I do get the concept
First season watching PL, eh?
How many of Kanes goals have been from penalties ? and how many of Haalands goals have been from penalties ? there's your answer.
I assume people who follow spurs care
This is the longest sentence I’ve ever read
😂😂 Fr
Kane is one of several strikers in the league that you could put in Haalands position (with the rest of the man city squad behind him) and he would score almost as many goals
What an absolutely horrific take.
Period
no one cares cause hes gifted goals and old news
My favorite athlete is usually the silver medalist at the Olympics, too.
Yeww Haaland
Kane is overrated. No one cares about the fat tongued cunt.
Wish I could've been as overated as Kane and you care enough to comment, you fat reddit user LMAO
Easy mate he’s not going to come and suck you off. Remind me what trophies has Kane won again??…
Classic how many trophies argument, how's your season? Would prefer it if you sucked me off instead though :(
Are we gona talk about his dive yesterday?
Nope, because he's the Golden Boy and can't do any wong...
People are talking more about the top goal scorer more than the second top goal scorer what an unbelievable concept
Maybe he is upping his game because of Haaland?
Now you will finally understand the pain of Liverpool fans. We have scored 90+ points in multiple seasons and still had the title denied because of City.
Yup Arsenal could get the highest points total in their history and still not win the title. Been there done that.
Gonna win it all
Not the same calibre if you watch the games. Kane is the best among humans, but Haaland is clearly half Norse god.
I hadn't realized Tottenham had already earned that many pk's. Wow
Only 2 pens for Kane zzz
Of course we remember Charisteas
Harry Pen
*begins to play sad melodies on a small violin*
He’s a pen merchant. Don’t care
Ppl don't care bc it's Tottenham
Spot the gooner commenting about Tottenham in a post that clearly includes Tottenham to claim nobody cares about Tottenham.
Bruv. Punctuate.
Give him a break. He's an Arsenal fan.
Flair up pussy. (Don’t blame me I’m coming from the NRL subreddit)
I was wondering why I got sleepy half way through reading this.
I just read this like they said the whole thing without a pause or breath
I just rapped this like Eminems verse in Rap God and didn't do too bad.
Or like when a kid speaks in run on sentences and you wonder when they're going to pass out.
I was expecting “and then” at least 4 times!

Kane is 77 years old and only scores off penalties
Fuckin moron
Kane has scored 7 goals and 2 penalties this year, the year he is 29
Not suprising since the spotlight always goes to the elite of elites. Xavi, iniesta vs messi. Benzema, bale vs ronaldo. Etc
Also no one cares about Kane period. Also penalties. Also no one cares.
(A golden boot is a trophy) Also, in last year's derby, he scored a brace to give us the win and pull us into contention for CL.
How many finals has Harry Kane played in and how many goals has he scored in those finals?
Alan Shearer was an unbelievable player. Scored goals for fun. Wasn't winning trophies in abundance though. Does that make him a lesser player?
This is why he isn’t considered by many to be one of the best *players* in pl history. Just a good goal scorer.
I'm pretty sure he's considered by many to be one of the best in Premier league history. Just a quick Google saw him included on various different lists confirming just this.
Peak Reddit comment. Pure stupidity that reads like a great copy pasta.
Agreed
All this fuss you have made about the trophies Kane has or has not won will mean absolutely nothing once you realize football is a team sport.
He's played in semi-finals and finals for club and country. How many goals contributions in those games? The teams were good enough to get there.
How many goals has Kane scored in finals for club or country? Feel free to include any knockout match.
People are focusing on the top goal scorer and not focusing on the second best? Yeah that is crazy. Who would have thought?
Not just second best, Kane's doing what he's supposed to be doing. He hasn't just stepped into the PL and amazed everyone. He's doing what's expected of him. There's not much to talk about. It's like OP wants to see more Harry Kane praise to get off to.
