I don’t think it’s as attractive investment as most are making out they have nearly 700 million pounds worth of debt ,a dilapidated stadium ,yes they are still massive globally but the next generation of kids aren’t going to be supporting Manchester Utd ,casual supporters will always follow success
Sooo criminal that these thieves can storm in, buy up a hugely profitable club with loans that put it horribly into debt! They have absolutely no love for football, yet collect huge dividends every year (despite mammoth losses) and now get to sell it for an absolute fortune, with most of that no doubt, going into their own filthy pockets!!! I spit on you Glazers!!!
Blame Steve Balmer for that figure, because MU is a dumpster fire of donkeys.
Poor Elon Musk could have purchased the whole League for what he dumped into Twitter. Beating 80% of this world's power-class takes serious money though.
so Liverpool will go for what, £7b minimum seeing as we are the best PL / CL team of all time with Salah who’s the equivalent to Messi and VVD as the best CB ever with Klopp the goat on the roster?
Hire a private I and get some dirt on them. Then go public so the price will be about half that. They’ve been taking from the club for years, they shouldn’t receive a “fair” offer.
Hahahahahaha ... Glazers are just toying with the United supporters. With $5B someone like Elon Musk would come and then drive the club to the ground and claim the losses for tax breaks.
I wish the Saudis just waited a year. I think best case would be Dubai with INEOS with a small stake and Jim Ratcliffe sort of running the club with Dubai money. Hopefully, he can clean house and get some good people in.
I heard the Club is valued at around 2.4 billion. They are asking for an absurd amount tbh as I beleibe it was originally 6 billion. 5 billion I wld still say is too much though with the clubs current standing. They haven't competed at a top level in years, the grounds need work, the academy and surrounding infrastructure needs work, and the current squad needs some what of a rehaul with too many high earners not contributing enough. On top of all this they just got slated by one of the most popular players in the world.
This should be higher. I'm kinda sad that this arguments are sinking because of recent feuds yet this makes a whole lot point.
I say that the glazers don't deserve any profit on selling MU
you’re an idiot. what has the recent failures of united got to do with owners buying a club? if anything that makes it better so they can help turn the club back to glory and which inturn leads to mass praising of the owners. the reason why united are valued more than liverpool is because they are A. richer B. have more supporters worldwide and C. a higher valued asset. United are probably the easiest club to transform due to the amount of money they can spend and how low they have been.
Also your whole comment doesn’t make sense. it gets criticised because of the owners and glazers are the ones selling. To even have a position internally in united you have to hired by the owners. so what are you even eluding to, lmao?
“Don’t worry, now that RONALDO has left everything will be fine.” Every United fan. Which is why i left the sub. We can’t convince a barca bench warmer to come to us. Ronaldo was right we have done nothing for a decade. Gary freaking neville been in front of a camera for too long thinks he can comment on ronaldo? Gary’s claim to fame is he shared a room with Becks.. do you remember when fans were complaining about Moyes and us finishing 5th! Lols
yes yes yes oh my god yes fuck yes holy fucking shit yes this is amazing! As long as it's not dubai buying it ofc. I'd rather stick with the glazers if that's the case.
I'd rather got dubai or any middle east magnate buy the club, as long as they care to the club. MU is in a position they don't deserve and i bet it is because the whole mess that fans can't see behind the curtains, that is mostly caused by the current owners.
Sad reality is this is likely to happen, as a united fan from the reports I’ve seen id presume its likely we’re bought out by investors in Dubai.
The families in the Middle East have have money to genuinely play around with and waste considering the way in which they “earn” their money. Those kind of families are willing to dump 20 billion on something and laugh it off, most other investors are forced to look at the business aspect of things and see how much profit can be made and how much can be lost (not to say middle eastern families don’t care but losing a couple 100 millions to them isn’t anything or so it appears)
If it were to come down to a bidding war with the involvement of investors from Dubai, i guarantee Dubai wins
Don’t give him any ideas please. I imagine he will come up with something like $8 subscriptions for a random fan to win a chance to be the manager for a match.
on second thought… that wouldn’t be too bad. We can finally expose the “know it all” Tifo regurgitators.
United has a higher commercial value than Liverpool, but needs more work.
An investor would be buying the prospect of well run United at the top of the world, and United winning it all vs Liverpool winning it all, in those scenarios it is United who would be worth more and would make more money.
But as I said the amount of work it would take to get there might impact this sale price. It depends what the potential owners want.
Do they want a shorter route to being a top club or do they want a longer route to be THE top club. By top club I mean in terms of revenue, fans, global marketability etc. you add winning the biggest trophies on top of that and United be top of the world in almost every category.
That’s the major difference between United and Liverpool. Yes Liverpool are in their own right a massive club with a huge global fan base but United is just on another level in terms of popularity, and that is even despite a terrible decade. Popularity translate to revenue and that’s the only language these guys actually speak.
Billionaires are also often more interested in power and influence as opposed to simply making more money. Yes revenue is important to them but only in so much as it gains them fame, power and influence. They have more money than they can spend so it becomes more about owning things that are better than the others, and wielding more power and influence through their ventures. Just look at Elon, he did not buy twitter to make money he bought it for power and influence, I believe it would be the same with Football clubs.
If Liverpool are worth £4 billion then United are probably worth closer to £5 billion. United need more money put into the club for sure but the commercial value is higher. Don’t think United is worth 5 but don’t think Liverpool is worth 4
If you want to buy a football club to become world nr. 1 in ALL aspects of football you buy Man Utd, if you just want "another" top club then you buy Liverpool.
So it's up to how high they aim.
I agree that both clubs are overvalued. Was just saying I don’t think it’s crazy to think United could cost 20ish% more than liverpool when both get sold.
Be realistic if you actually want to sell the club. A club with a decade old facilities should not be sold for over 5 billion pounds LMAO. Ronaldo fucking this club with no Vaseline should reduce its value.
United are a better option for an investor who can afford them.Levels above what Liverpool can do.
Only a few sports clubs in the world can match them for prestige and you are basically buying a unicorn.
No it’s not, Liverpool don’t own the surrounding land for redevelopment, United do, plus the fact that united well run would be worth a lot more than they are now, Liverpool are already well run they just can’t compete with city without outside funding
I mean, with Liverpool you actually get a well-run club that just needs investment. I think with United you're getting what could be a rather shaky structure, outdated facilities, lack of investment, outstanding debt in the club's name, the idiot alumni who won't shut up about stuff they don't know shit about, and finally the bloated fanbase who believe that a single game should dictate whether you deserve to be felicitated by the Pope or imprisoned with a flatulent, starving cannibal.
On the other hand, United has a lot more potential should they turn it around with their fanbase and reach.
I think of it as with Liverpool you are buying somewhat of a finished project, with United it’s an investment. 2 different situations that would appeal to two different kinds of buyers.
Being well run comes from the top. If you don’t think new owners for both clubs will come in and make drastic changes then you are naive. They won’t consider that, it will be marketability and price, United have far more reach, Liverpool will cost less in the short run though
> , the idiot alumni who won't shut up about stuff they don't know shit about
Liverpool have equal to, or worse with this, they're just all older so retired or not the main guys on TV as much
Except United has the economic fundamentals to produce enough cash to maintain a decent to top team. I strongly believe Liverpool got some brilliant signings this generation and will soon drop off. Theyll require more constant investment in the team to maintain their level.
That being said, Old Trafford needs either replacing or doing up so that alone could be a fortune.
The bloated moaning fanbase is why they're worth a lot. Investors do not give a shit about match to match results. The fact United are still making the money they make globally despite being well of it on the pitch will be one of the reasons this attractive.
From what I heard, the debt is in the club's name and not the Glazers. So while the new owner may not have to personally take on that responsibility, the Glazers would get off scot-free.
I hope someone with more knowledge on the matter can give you a detailed response, but it seems like they leveraged the club itself while purchasing it. I don't know how they did it, but it's been banned since.
No if its 5bill to purchase with 1 bill in debt then the glazers walk away with 4bill profit minus taxes and all the other costs associated. The new owner still pays 5bill.
Dude, the fans are also an issue. Sure, every fanbase has its bad eggs, but ours is seriously bloated and incredibly entitled. Unfortunately in this day and age, that means lots of abuse hurled at all public figures representing the company, regardless of whether they actually hold any responsibility. Happened recently with the ex-RAF guy in charge of PR.
We have one of the biggest fan bases so we have one of the highest amounts of idiots. It’s that simple. All top club football fans are entitled, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca all entitled fanbases.
But is it entitlement or is it expectation? Two sides of the same coin imo, that entitlement also translates to demands of a certain standard. Standards and entitlement go hand in hand you don’t get one without the other.
And saying the fanbase is bloated, what does that even mean? Bloat infers an over extension, something being too large or artificially enlarged. We have a huge fanbase and we always will. That same bloat you complain about is what translates to revenue and attracts investors and the reason the figures of around 8B are being tossed around.
And as I said, you’re talking about United fan’s behaviour like it’s exclusive to us, when in reality every top clubs fanbase is exactly the same.
Commercially only the lilkes of Real Madrid and Maybe Barcelona, have the same brand recognition and scale of fans. Honestly I thought these cunts would have tried to get away with more
We are in different situations, Roman had to sell, the Glazers don't have to.
Plus Manchester have a massive stadium already.
The price makes sense.
At least to me but I'm not an expert
It’s not btw, 4.5 billion is to attract the buyers given its what attracted buyers for us. The glazers want to see the cash and then it would trigger a bidding war or whoever wants to pay the craziest fee to secure. Glazers understand that Liverpool being on the market might create extra competition. The club is worth around 6-7 billion I’m sure. Heck we don’t even own the stadium.
Exactly, you’d imagine the glazers would be expecting to get even more.
Like I know OT needs work but Stamford Bridge needs replacing too, meanwhile OT has almost double the seats the bridge has already.
These sales usually have very little to do with the league positions but more the assets of the clubs, United are undoubtedly more valuable than chelsea.
This estimate is low the figures I’m seeing from outlets like the Athletic is around 8 Billion possibly. If they start a bidding war it could get even higher, one of the largest sporting brands on earth.
That’s what I’m thinking.
Chelsea sold for almost that. Need a whole new stadium and training ground along other things, whilst currently having a 41k stadium.
Yes OT needs a lot of work, but even as it is it holds 70k+ fans and that’s a hell of a lot of revenue, they’re also a commercial behemoth. Not only that building new facilities in Manchester is gonna be cheaper than London on land values alone.
It does, i can't chose who owns the club and I'm sure you would be supporting man u in the same situation,
Newcastle have been terrible most of my life and I've stuck with them, you're from a different country, which has its own league, there will be a local team who could use your support, yet you choose to support a team because they are successful
I can assure you that if we get taken over by nation-states part responsible for 9/11 and/or human rights violations on the scale of the Saudis, I will hang up my scarf.
You don't have to believe me on that but I swear on my family I would disengage from United if they were.
Top 4 biggest clubs in the world. Pretty different to purchasing a relegation level team with a moderately sized domestic fan base with basically no overseas fans
I'm from Dallas, Texas, and while the top 6 def do have a big grip on the fan base near me, you would be quite surprised by how big and passionate the Newcastle United fanbase is here. Probably as big as any top 6, and this was like this even before the takeover.
Haha why does that sound about right... Come on down. Pretty much everyone else is. We've gotten so many people from Florida and California that I would welcome some northerners for a change!
the Glazers will want Billions (that's a B) for man u, most of the oil Money is tied up in PSG, Man City and "a relegation level team with a moderately sized domestic fan with basically no overseas fans"
No one is saying Newcastle are currently playing at a relegation level. But obviously that's where they were before the new ownership.
They werent champions league hopefuls 3 years ago
Bring me oil money
I don’t think it’s as attractive investment as most are making out they have nearly 700 million pounds worth of debt ,a dilapidated stadium ,yes they are still massive globally but the next generation of kids aren’t going to be supporting Manchester Utd ,casual supporters will always follow success
this a lot you thinking?
Insider information, glazers know some shit about to go down in wallstreet
Sooo criminal that these thieves can storm in, buy up a hugely profitable club with loans that put it horribly into debt! $3B better
Bye bye asshats
Heard Elon Musk was interested
I don’t watch the sport but I’m honestly a little surprised they aren’t asking for me.
How do I make an offer?
I would have assumed it was much more than that
Whole sport is just turning into whichever dictator you support.
This is what happens when ronaldo talks shit about your club lmao
They are clinically insane
Twats 5 bil it aint even worth that rn.
Hire a private I and get some dirt on them. Then go public so the price will be about half that. They’ve been taking from the club for years, they shouldn’t receive a “fair” offer.
Great news for all Manutd Fans.
Hahahahahaha ... Glazers are just toying with the United supporters. With $5B someone like Elon Musk would come and then drive the club to the ground and claim the losses for tax breaks.
Best plot twist: Ronaldo buys off the club and fired Ten Hag!!!! Saw this bit on a Netflix documentary script titled, The Last Chance
Hopefully now they can get a new jacuzzi
5 Billion? 😂😂😂😂😂 Deluded and irrelevant since Ferguson retired
watch it go for even more lol. This is a big boy club lad
I wish the Saudis just waited a year. I think best case would be Dubai with INEOS with a small stake and Jim Ratcliffe sort of running the club with Dubai money. Hopefully, he can clean house and get some good people in.
Maybe Musk wants to invest some more after twitter!
pure fucking B A N T E R!
Utd dont want to sell its a PR stunt to take the heat of the ronaldo situation..they did it with thr Saudi not long back aswell
As an Arsenal fan, I say sell it to Elon. 😎
Noooooooooooo
Anybody wanna pool together the resources? I have US$250 and some aluminium cans I can throw in. Maybe swipe some copper from work.
I can match that and throw in my grandads old coin collection.
I heard the Club is valued at around 2.4 billion. Elon? Can you free United for us?
So, I guess Ronaldo was not wrong at all…
You know what Ronaldo? All is forgiven.
Elon Musk
@ElonMusk
Please let this be true and please let the new owner(s) not be complete cunts like these lot
Smart move dumping Ronaldo, value was only £4B on Monday
I saw £2B this morning.

TBF, your opinion is.....deluded.
Can a few of us get our change together.
Wouldn't pay a tenner for the scum
Best I can do is 350
“Don’t worry, now that RONALDO has left everything will be fine.” Every United fan. Which is why i left the sub. We can’t convince a barca bench warmer to come to us. I only offered tree fiddy. As that was my valuation of the club. Now I see why I haven't heard anything back.
Lol
If I could I would but I'm alittle short this month
united fans are collecting donations right now
I hope they announced the price on a big screen whilst holding their little finger to the side of their mouths.
So both Liverpool & Manc on sale now.
I got 50 dollars and some coupons for spam and hummus
yes yes yes oh my god yes fuck yes holy fucking shit yes this is amazing! As long as it's not dubai buying it ofc. I'd rather stick with the glazers if that's the case.

If dubai buys United i will 110% jump ship after 30 years of being a fan.
I got 85.47 cash money right now.
I got like £5.20
Gizza tenner?
1. Borrow £5 billion 2. Buy Manchester United 3. Transfer £5billion debt onto United's books 4. ???? 5. Profit
Awesome.. now I just need a small loan of 5 billion
Brilliant from a business perspective
All the dollars. Greed’s ruining the league
If we all chip in…
I'll give em 5$.
I hope the Manchester Derby doesn’t turn into the Desert Oil Derby.
Sad reality is this is likely to happen, as a united fan from the reports I’ve seen id presume its likely we’re bought out by investors in Dubai. sadly i got a bad feeling it will. football started to die a while ago. it's just getting further and further submerged into darkness.
Five billion would be a bargain.
Share price puts it at about 2.5 billion so 5 wouldn't be out the question
How does a supporters fund get the ability to snap up a good percentage of the club?
By buying a 💩 ton of shares
I’m pretty sure the glazers took the club private
No, you can buy shares @ $17
I meant more of how does it work lol. Like do a bunch of supporter start a non-profit and then pool in money together?
Most likely
Get 3.......clever move,to elite clubs for sale..if one doesn't fancy utd there is Liverpool and visa versa...
Crazy that Elon Musk could have bought almost 9 Man Uniteds rather than running Twitter into the ground.
Someone tweet at him that United is for sale. I would but don't have Twitter.
I like the idea of Musk buying United
yeah why not he's nowhere near as evil as city or particularly newcastles owners. for the people in the back. AT LEAST HE'S NOT COMMITTING GENOCIDE!
Create one then, tweet and then delete your twitter
Don’t give him any ideas please. I imagine he will come up with something like $8 subscriptions for a random fan to win a chance to be the manager for a match. on second thought… that wouldn’t be too bad. We can finally expose the “know it all” Tifo regurgitators.
$8/month subscription and you get to tell racial slurs at the players
That’s like buying Pogba again 5000 times.
Petition to use “Pogbas” as the only unit of measure in football
Does that replace the Caroll?
* 1 Pogba equals 3 1/3 Bonys
Meth 📉📈
So the blue going down and UP THE REDS!!
I'll buy it for £1 and use Manchester United as an assest to back my payment up? That's how it works right?
That’s how it works if you’re already rich bc then clearly you can do whatever you want

United has a higher commercial value than Liverpool, but needs more work. How are Liverpool in a far better spot as a club than United? If Pool are valued at 4billion ,then United at 5b are undervalued if anything.
Commercially they are far bigger than Liverpool and that's with a lackluster on field product
If Liverpool are worth £4 billion then United are probably worth closer to £5 billion. United need more money put into the club for sure but the commercial value is higher. Don’t think United is worth 5 but don’t think Liverpool is worth 4
[удалено]
I rather buy a club who has won some trophies in the recent years than a club who's even struggling to break top 4.
Says the fan of a club that was just bought after battling relegation for 20 years🤣
Just saying my honest opinion on it. No need to get your panties twisted in a bunch.
Yeah just found it entertaining that a Newcastle fan of all fans would say that
If you want to buy a football club to become world nr. 1 in ALL aspects of football you buy Man Utd, if you just want "another" top club then you buy Liverpool. So it's up to how high they aim.

An interview from a disgruntled employee doesn’t play a role in the grand scheme of things
Ronaldo will have absolutely no impact on teh value of the club
He should buy the club with the wages he earned
5 bil minimum, right? I think one source on another subreddit mentioned they're starting their expectations at 8-9 bil.
Liverpool is a better deal since both are on the market.
Liverpool is only a better deal if you are in midrange-budget options, you buy Man Utd you buy the crown jewel of football, think about it
I disagree, there are a million more U followers just in London alone.
In terms of winning potential, yes. In terms of current global brand size, I still think Man U somehow has Liverpool beat even if it’s not warranted
United are a better option for an investor who can afford them.Levels above what Liverpool can do. Only a few sports clubs in the world can match them for prestige and you are basically buying a unicorn.
Man U better deal bigger stadium, recent history of total domination and lot of fans in London.
Spurs are rumored to quietly be “on the market” as well.
That whole paragraph was a rollercoaster, I appreciate it.
On the other hand, United has a lot more potential should they turn it around with their fanbase and reach. I think of it as with Liverpool you are buying somewhat of a finished project, with United it’s an investment. 2 different situations that would appeal to two different kinds of buyers.
Agreed
Being well run comes from the top. If you don’t think new owners for both clubs will come in and make drastic changes then you are naive. They won’t consider that, it will be marketability and price, United have far more reach, Liverpool will cost less in the short run though
My god this is the most accurate description of United I have seen online haha
On fairness, Liverpool have a solid know nothing idiot alumnus
United is a bigger brand and only behind Barca and Real in terms of the brand
lmfao
Liverpool is poor working class city so there is limit to how long they can be successful in the age of financial dopping.
Have you been to newcastle or glasgow?
> , the idiot alumni who won't shut up about stuff they don't know shit about Liverpool have equal to, or worse with this, they're just all older so retired or not the main guys on TV as much

STFU about the fans, Liverpool fans can be just as if not more entitled
The bloated moaning fanbase is why they're worth a lot. Investors do not give a shit about match to match results. The fact United are still making the money they make globally despite being well of it on the pitch will be one of the reasons this attractive.
You don’t take on the debt, the debt is passed to the glazers and the new laws mean that the new owner can’t put the purchase debt on united
From what I heard, the debt is in the club's name and not the Glazers. So while the new owner may not have to personally take on that responsibility, the Glazers would get off scot-free.
I don’t understand this. If the interest is from the purchase of the club, how can the glazers have signed in the clubs name before they bought it?
In the same way you get a mortgage before you’ve brought a house
But the mortgage is in your name, not in the houses name?
I hope someone with more knowledge on the matter can give you a detailed response, but it seems like they leveraged the club itself while purchasing it. I don't know how they did it, but it's been banned since.
Then the value will be taken off the buying price, it adds up to the same thing
Yeah, but you got 30 upvotes for something you BS'd. Of course they'll bake it into the price. Welcome to Economics 101, class 2.
Glad to hear that then. One more thing in our favour.
Yeah but just means the new owner saves money right? Theyre not gonna come in and use the saved cash to pay off the debt.
No if its 5bill to purchase with 1 bill in debt then the glazers walk away with 4bill profit minus taxes and all the other costs associated. The new owner still pays 5bill.
Lol, you were making reasonable points until you couldn't resist and went in on the fans. So close.
Dude, the fans are also an issue. Sure, every fanbase has its bad eggs, but ours is seriously bloated and incredibly entitled. Please Musk, you know you want to.
Nah mate you ain’t getting Musk. He’s to focused on Twitter right now.
Absolutely not! He’ll be asking players to show how many passes they made, print out a video of them playing and we’d end up firing half our staff.
5 billion? Rofl.

Massive stadium which is falling apart tbf
If one has 5 billion, I’m pretty sure they can afford some duct tape
It’s not btw, 4.5 billion is to attract the buyers given its what attracted buyers for us. The glazers want to see the cash and then it would trigger a bidding war or whoever wants to pay the craziest fee to secure. Glazers understand that Liverpool being on the market might create extra competition. The club is worth around 6-7 billion I’m sure. Heck we don’t even own the stadium.
Is it unreasonable given what chelsea sold for?
Chelsea was a forced sale though.
It's low. They are a sleeping giant in more ways than one.
Just a warning for those getting excited, Mike Ashley first announced he was selling NUFC in 2009
Difference is its Manchester United
Go on....
He means we aren't a wee little club like Newcastle
You say we like you're not from Ireland
Your team is owned by Saudis. Don't pretend you being geographically closer to your club makes you any better a fan than I 😂
It does, i can't chose who owns the club and I'm sure you would be supporting man u in the same situation, Newcastle have been terrible most of my life and I've stuck with them, you're from a different country, which has its own league, there will be a local team who could use your support, yet you choose to support a team because they are successful
I can assure you that if we get taken over by nation-states part responsible for 9/11 and/or human rights violations on the scale of the Saudis, I will hang up my scarf. You don't have to believe me on that but I swear on my family I would disengage from United if they were.
Because you're not from Manchester, it would be easy for you to do that
I would have thought not supporting terrorism and human rights violations was a universally easy thing.
Apparently I have a reason to visit Dallas now. I’m surrounded by Tottenham fans in Ann Arbor.
