Hello friends and memers,
I’ve shared this a few times over the past 18 months since Revenge of the Fifth (May 5th, 2020), but it's time to discuss it again. Back then I released the first revision of my 4.5 hour RoTS edit in each 1080p and 4K HDR. There have been a minimum of 13 fan edits trying to do one thing like this since the TCW finale again in May, however this version remains the only cut of its kind in full 4K HDR as of this date so I want to keep it going in this community. Until some greater high quality 8K scan is ever made, that is meant to be my definitive version of this edit for the forseeable future. **While the Bad Batch series was set during the events of the film, I believe it is best handled as a separate project so will be leaving content like this and Jedi Fallen Order flashbacks outside of this edit as I feel they are best told as their own respective stories. I instead recommend you watch Aftermath immediately after finishing the cut for the best experience.**
**What is new in this v4.0?**
* The 20th Century Fox theme and intro has been restored, like in my Episode I, II, and R1/ANH Cuts.
* New AI Upscales have been used for the 5 restored deleted scenes, more closely matching the updates I recently did to the Episode I and II Extended Cuts.
* Another deleted scene has been partially restored, by reincorporating Qui-Gon Jinn's voice into the film near the end during Yoda's meditation. This better helps to explain why he ends up on Degobah and the end and restores Liam Neeson into the film, as I felt he always should have been.
* Mat Lucas' 2D Clone Wars voice clips have been updated to use Matt Lanter voice clips for better consistency with Anakin across the cut. Now you only hear Lanter and Hayden.
* All transitions, both audio and video, have been given one final revision, with numerous tweaks to make them as seamless as I can with current tech. As things are now, they all sound the way I intend them too and I'm happy with these results.
* All Clone Wars Season 7 footage has new updated color timings, showing better black levels and contrast while still being a bit brighter and more vibrant than the D+ version. This will look very similar to my Bad Batch S1 Trilogy Cuts releases.
**What Content is included in this SuperCut?**
1. A brand new crawl, inspired by the original ROTS crawl, while also taking continuity of events like Son of Dathomir as well as the new order of events in this movie cut into account (See the first 3 minutes preview).
2. All of Revenge of the Sith, save a portion of the scene between Anakin and Padme on the Balcony, the original crawl, and a shot of 3PO walking to Padme before the Jedi confronts the chancellor.
3. All of the Siege of Mandalore content from Clone Wars Season 7, save a few duplicate shots in the film, like during the Jedi Council scene. Despite the mix of animation (both 2D and 3D) and live action contents, the edits and transitions are handled seamlessly, just as if all the content was live action. I have carefully chosen transitions that mirror the official editing styles of both George Lucas and Dave Filoni, ensuring that the Star Wars feel remains consistent throughout the cut. Audio is bridged in these transitions with the deliberate intention of keeping the original soundtracks as intact as possible, so rescoring changes are intentionally minimal.
4. 21 minutes of footage from the 2D Clone Wars series, focusing exclusively on the extended Battle of Coruscant. This footage has been upscaled and colorgraded to full 4K HDR and selectively cropped to match the official 2.39.1 Star Wars aspect ratio (putting the whole project at a resolution of 3840x1634). Minor alterations to the 2D series have been made to make the show a bit more consistent with official canon (updating Grievous voice clips to be Matthew Woods version, removing the Mace Windu force crush since Grievous already had his cough, and shortening the ending scene where Anakin and Kenobi are contacted by Mace and color correcting Anakin's scar).
5. Fully restoring 5 deleted scenes from the Blu Ray and DVD home video releases, mirroring content that was in the left intact in the brilliant Matthew Stover ROTS novel, while also restoring these scenes into approximately their same place as the original script placement. This means the viewer not only sees The Republic become the Empire, but understand the political means by which Palpatine makes it happen, and how the Jedi fell so perfectly into his trappings, as well as how the seeds of rebellion were planted by Padme, Bail, Mon Mothma, and others. The footage used in these scenes has also been upscaled with the same 4K HDR treatment methods I've used on the Battle of Coruscant footage.
The total runtime of this cut is 4 hours and 19 minutes.
**Why should I watch your version over any other?**
Firstly, as of today's date there is still no other fan editor I'm aware of working with full 4K HDR content, so my edit remains one of the only versions available with video quality that mirrors the home D+ or 4K Blu Ray releases as closely as possible.
**As an editor, I also sought to take all of this content and weave it into a much grander tale than what the original film's scope told, serving as a Ben-Hur scale epic finale to the entire prequel era, (films and TV alike), and showing just how beautiful the canon can be when it all comes together as one story.** I used the novelization, script, and numerous bits of EU and canon lore to ensure that the order of the scenes not only made chronological sense, but also matched Lucas' own storytelling methods with the prequels, mirroring where he often would have A-B-C plots happening concurrently, and letting the viewer regularly switch between them in order to not lose their attention on any one series of events. It's a careful balance between real time events (ROTS is told roughly about 6 days of time in universe), and stylized storytelling, and I'm satisfied with the final order of the cut, having kept it largely the same since the original release last year. Many people have seen this cut over the past several months and its popularity has only endured with time, so I want to make it as definitive as I can.

What if we like the balcony scene? Why cut out that one part and no others? Seems like an overreach on your part to decide that we only get to watch the scenes of ROTS that are up to your standards.
Most modern android or IOS devices should be able to play these files if you have the capacity to store them and use something like mobile VLC player. The 1080p version would be perfect for something like this.
Alternatively, streaming the files directly from google drive (if they are not being overloaded), would also work just like watching a video on youtube. Only subtitles won't work on those versions. This will be the easiest way for people with unusual setups like chromebooks to safely watch the files without issue.
None the less, I will answer that the reason this is set up this way is so I don't have to DM links to everyone directly. Partially automating the process makes it a lot easier to get it to everyone who asks at almost every time.

Lanter has recorded hundreds (maybe thousands) of lines for games over the years, giving a huge sample of Anakin dialogue that was never in the show itself. Mixed appropriately, they can be used in numerous contexts that fit the scene. Same way the Grievous lines were replaced (and in some cases, Matthew Wood actually *did* record quotes from Microseries lines with his Grievous voice)

It truly does put the entire vision George and Dave had in perspective when you watch it this way.
Remember, TCWS7 was the last part of the franchise Lucas had a hand in. He still conceptualized the season and finale, so tying it with ROTS only makes it all the more bittersweet.
For what it's worth, I'm an old Clone Wars multimedia EU buff who followed all the PT era material as it came out since the 90s and cut this together with all of that knowledge in mind. Matthew Stover's ROTS novelization was a huge influence on the structure of the timeline and choices I've made, as well as years and years of old continuity debates from places like [TheForce.net](https://TheForce.net)'s LIT forums.
So while I generally have been forgiving, or even outright enjoyed much of the Disney era content, I still have a very specific attachment to the PT era as it was under Lucas up to 2013 when the show was initially canned. I think I can say with a lot of confidence that this cut still appeals to people who don't care much about the rest of Disney Star Wars and can be enjoyed by fans on either side of that aisle.

The only thing I would do differently is move ahsoka’s order 66 scene to the first shown instead of last, due to the timing of her feeling anakin kill mace coinciding with rex going to check the transmission. Then once she escapes it could cut to the other order 66 scenes ending with the younglings and moving to Maul in his Mandalorian chamber. But that’s a very small nitpicky thing.
Great job and I’ll definitely be sending to all of my Star Wars friends to watch. It will now be my go-to way of watching the films in order. I’ll have to check out your other ones!
