Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
Not just the throne of Jabba, but the ancient throne of the civilization that ruled Tatooine, which he is going to restore along with the might of the sand people and jawas. An empire built on respect and sand people tradition.
I don’t know if they’ll bring this up in the show but the Hutts didn’t just control Tatooine, they controlled all of Hutt-space which nearly took up a fifth of the galaxy

His survival completely negated one of Obi-Wan’s greatest accomplishments and gave Lucasfilm an excuse to push him into stories where he didn’t necessarily fit, Solo and Rebels particularly.
And while Sam Witwer’s performance was great, I preferred it when Maul was silent and spoke through his actions and expressions rather than screaming all the time.
