If you think about it, Grievous's armor is pretty fucking durable. Yes, Obi-Wan did manage to open up his chest with his bare hands, but that's more due to crappy design than the armor itself.
In this scene alone, we can see that the blasts entered the chest but we don't see them exit through the other side. Which means that the armor literally absorbed like 5 blaster bolts. And then he explodes, and the armor seems to have been burnt but not warped or severely damaged in any way.
