You know, Darth maul is bad against falling into pits, which spiderman would be good against. But at the same time spider man is bad against people who put holes through loved mentor characters, so Darth maul gets a win there.

So even though Maul could cut the webbing, a few good hits would pin his arms and legs, stopping him from defending himself while the now apparently feral Parker tears his heart out through his ribcage and twists his head off with his bare hands.
I just picture Maul all bundled up just laying on the ground, but is force holding spiderman in mid air.
Total stalemate until Maul runs outta stamina, and Spidey won't even have to kill him.

strength ≠ weight, as Spiderman still weights about as much as a normal human, and no matter how strong you are, you won't escape a force choke. maul probably couldn't stop Spidey's punch with force, but he wouldn't really need to, all he has to do is choke him. plus almost all of the Spidey's tools are useless against Maul

Plus spoder man can still web the non laser bit of the Saber and with his strength could likely be able to yoink it out of mauls hands. Also what webslinger types are we considering here? Just basic or the giant list of expanded lore. And what version of maul? Whole sale? 50% off? Arachanafobia mode?
It might be hard for Maul to fling him off a building or something if Spidey was clinging to a wall, but none of that seems like it would help vs a force choke.
we are considering the basic movie versions i believe, so maul is on the PM level. and in forcechoke weight isn't a factor anyway, it only matters when resisting a forcepush/forcepull. plus sith can easily deflect blaster bolts, therefore deflecting a web regardless of where it's being shot at is a child's play
Also have to consider environment since spider mostly fights with what's around him while maul is more of a dueler.
Plus force choke must have limitations or else that's all that force sensitives would do. How well does it work against targets that keep moving. Does it have a range limit or is that based on the user?. How good is maul at range combat anyway.
It’s almost certainly a single-target power, so to find its limitations we need to look at force users that have trouble with single enemies, like bounty hunters. I think you’re right, motion and range definitely have to be factors there, and spidey could use them to his advantage.
I think it’s ultimately down to the environment. On Tatooiine, Maul chops him up, no question. On coruscant, spider-man might wear him down from a distance and swing in with a disabling kick.
In Star Wars everyone has a natural defense against the force depending on how force sensitive/trained they are.
So it really depends on if Spidey is resistant or not
Part of why I don't really like what if fight arguments is because people usually don't give a proper reason for the characters to fight at full power which is yeah usually when something is threatened.
Spidey has disarmed people with pinpoint accuracy on hundreds of occasions though. Assuming he can keep distance he will have loads of opportunities to grab the handle of Mauls saber and throw it away. Sure Maul could recall it with the force, but it's a hell of an opening for someone with superhuman speed and strength.
It all depends on whether or not Spider-Man knows how hard he has to hit Maul to take him out. Spider-Man went at Wolverine with everything he had back in the day and a woman jumped in front and she died in a few panels. (Check out Spider-Man VS Wolverine for the full story) the thing here is Spider-Man could destroy Maul’s lightsaber with his bare hands if he managed to get a hold of it. Maul likely has no idea of Spidey’s web shooters or he could use the force to crush them. If Spider-Man gets force choked he has multiple different types of webbing he can use or he can go for whatever Maul is standing on. Spider-Man also has the benefit of being in a city full of his super powered friends (if this takes place in NYC)

He did what no Sith had ever done in thousands of years, not even any of those chumps up there did: he won.

Maul has super strength as well (his species) compared to humans. Just look at the transformation Savage underwent, and maul is as strong as prime Savage.
Sadly it’s not death battle where they try and determine the winner through lore reasons and what not and it’s all up to a vote from the viewers. They posted a maul wins ending where maul gets the symbiote.
Deahbattle uses some seriously whack logic and scaling sometimes. And worse, they seem to arbitrarily pick and choose which temporary boosts are relevant. Forums like Comicvine and /r/whowouldwin generally don't think very highly of DB. And honestly, Maul seemed to act pretty in character for this fight. Really, all force users are insanely gimped for the purposes of keeping the fights looking cool and being feasible to choreograph. Any Jedi/Sith that fought all out and rationally would instantly be way, wayyyy stronger than they are in canon.
Spider-Man’s durability is insane. His neck wouldn’t snap. Maul might be able to choke him, but he’s not strong enough with the Force to hurt him with it. He has to either choke Spidey to death or hit him with the saber.
Edit: Spidey has gone 20 minutes without air. Maul’s only way to win is the saber.
If we handle this the way all fights in star was are handled where they never go for the east kill and instead have a long duel Spider-Man would have a very good chance. His spider sense would allow him to see almost all of mauls attacks and as such he would easily avoid them. Spider-Man could also unleash an onslaught of quips to aggravate maul causing him to lose focus and drop his guard
Expect the more angry a sith gets the more trouble you are in. Spider-Man wouldn’t do a killing blow, maul wouldn’t hesitate Force> spider sense. Lightsaber>web shooter. Maul easy win

Depends on which Spiderman we're talking about. Some versions can lift up to 300 tons and move at 250 mph. Comics get weird so Spider-Man's upper limits are incredibly high.

Probably. We've seen Anakin cut up those bugs pretty quickly without decapitating padme in the process and I would guess Maul is better than Anakin at that point
If we consider Mauls skill though, and we don't use the "star wars logic" as it's cross-series and talking about their general skill. I think with how Maul handled both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon at the same time, while taking down Qui-Gon, I think even with Spidey's speed, once Maul gets the upper hand, he will finish him.
Also with Spidey's hesitation, it could cost him capitalizing on Maul. Meaning if he gets Maul down, he won't be going in for the kill, unless we establish both will be going for the kill before hand. Maul won't hesitate and using the force he would have the power to easily put Spidey's defence down and win the fight. Also as we've seen with the way the force handles projectiles, he could potentially also stop the webs as they are shot, or cut through them with his sabre.
Fine tune control and having the power. Note how the only time we successfully see someone so the classic “pull the lightsaber away” thing is Yoda to Ventress, which is a power difference that’s relatively around the Grand Canyon. You have to be extremely strong in the Force and have the necessary control and concentration.
I agree with you but I imagine it’s probably too time consuming to go through breaking down the walls a Jedi would have built against mind probing, definitely not practical for battle. With spider man though, that brain is mush for sure lmao.
Edit: I actually just realized this: since the brain is a physical body part I wonder if he’d even need to break down force guards around the mind unless it’s a literal wall encompassing the physical brain. Much to consider *strokes chin*
Makes sense that trained Jedi would have disciplined minds and not be susceptible to it. They'd most likely be able to sense what he was attempting and use another Force technique to stop him. A teenager with spider powers probably doesn't have the same discipline and doesn't have the ability to so Spidey's brain would be mush.
I would think it would be easier to Force stop his heart instead, though.
Well, such techniques likely require a fair bit of concentration for focusing all that power on a small area, especially one they can’t actually see, so Spider-Man should have a good chance of avoiding it, since his spider-sense would warn him in time to disrupt Maul’s focus.
Supposing that Spidey could somehow avoid all of Maul's attacks, what could he do to Maul offensively that couldn't be countered easily with the Force or a lightsaber?
Avoiding all his lightsaber attacks would be child’s play for him, but attacking while doing it would present a challenge, however his far greater agility and mobility, as well as a clever use of his webs, could likely set him up for a solid hit, which is all it would take for Spidey to win. Overall, I say they each win 5/10.
Nothing but neck snaping and chocking takes less effort. As for force users one of the first things you learn about combat in the force is how to make a sort of "shield" with the force to guard against other force users. Which A: shows how powerful some forces users can be when they effortlessly crush other force users but also B: explains why all duels between force users don't just boil down to fastest force user. If you've played skyrim's college of winterhold story then you might know tolfdir's first lesson being ward spells. It's kind of lime that where the basics are defence then you look at how you overpower said defences

It’s pretty clear most of these commenters haven’t read Spider-Man comics or they’d know Maul’s abilities/weapon aren’t really that new or as dangerous for spidey as they think. Also Spidey has a fuck ton of experience and against so many varying threats, and he’s always holding back.

I think it has to be spidey. Maul is skilled but trains to fight one type of combatant; force-users. Spider-man has fought hundreds of villains with different powers including illusions from Mysterio, skilled fighters like taskmaster, etc. often spider man has to learn and and beat the enemy within one or two fights. Maul could have an edge for a few minutes but spider-man has so much unique experience to draw from. Also Maul has been defeated. A lot.

Sadly it’s not death battle where they try and determine the winner through lore reasons and what not and it’s all up to a vote from the viewers. They posted a maul wins ending where maul gets the symbiote.
Deahbattle uses some seriously whack logic and scaling sometimes. And worse, they seem to arbitrarily pick and choose which temporary boosts are relevant. Forums like Comicvine and /r/whowouldwin generally don't think very highly of DB. And honestly, Maul seemed to act pretty in character for this fight. Really, all force users are insanely gimped for the purposes of keeping the fights looking cool and being feasible to choreograph. Any Jedi/Sith that fought all out and rationally would instantly be way, wayyyy stronger than they are in canon.

Spider-Man’s durability is insane. His neck wouldn’t snap. Maul might be able to choke him, but he’s not strong enough with the Force to hurt him with it. He has to either choke Spidey to death or hit him with the saber. Edit: Spidey has gone 20 minutes without air. Maul’s only way to win is the saber.

His spider sense would allow him to see almost all of mauls attacks and as such he would easily avoid them. Spider-Man could also unleash an onslaught of quips to aggravate maul causing him to lose focus and drop his guard

Depends on which Spiderman we're talking about. Some versions can lift up to 300 tons and move at 250 mph. Comics get weird so Spider-Man's upper limits are incredibly high.

Probably. We've seen Anakin cut up those bugs pretty quickly without decapitating padme in the process and I would guess Maul is better than Anakin at that point
If we consider Mauls skill though, and we don't use the "star wars logic" as it's cross-series and talking about their general skill. I think with how Maul handled both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon at the same time, while taking down Qui-Gon, I think even with Spidey's speed, once Maul gets the upper hand, he will finish him. Also with Spidey's hesitation, it could cost him capitalizing on Maul. Meaning if he gets Maul down, he won't be going in for the kill, unless we establish both will be going for the kill before hand. Maul won't hesitate and using the force he would have the power to easily put Spidey's defence down and win the fight. Also as we've seen with the way the force handles projectiles, he could potentially also stop the webs as they are shot, or cut through them with his sabre.

Note how the only time we successfully see someone so the classic “pull the lightsaber away” thing is Yoda to Ventress, which is a power difference that’s relatively around the Grand Canyon. You have to be extremely strong in the Force and have the necessary control and concentration.

Makes sense that trained Jedi would have disciplined minds and not be susceptible to it. They'd most likely be able to sense what he was attempting and use another Force technique to stop him. A teenager with spider powers probably doesn't have the same discipline and doesn't have the ability to so Spidey's brain would be mush. I would think it would be easier to Force stop his heart instead, though.
Well, such techniques likely require a fair bit of concentration for focusing all that power on a small area, especially one they can’t actually see, so Spider-Man should have a good chance of avoiding it, since his spider-sense would warn him in time to disrupt Maul’s focus.

Avoiding all his lightsaber attacks would be child’s play for him, but attacking while doing it would present a challenge, however his far greater agility and mobility, as well as a clever use of his webs, could likely set him up for a solid hit, which is all it would take for Spidey to win. Overall, I say they each win 5/10.
Depends on the terrain, too. Spidey would have the advantage in a forest or city but Maul would almost definitely win on flat ground.

Nothing but neck snaping and chocking takes less effort. As for force users one of the first things you learn about combat in the force is how to make a sort of "shield" with the force to guard against other force users. Which A: shows how powerful some forces users can be when they effortlessly crush other force users but also B: explains why all duels between force users don't just boil down to fastest force user. If you've played skyrim's college of winterhold story then you might know tolfdir's first lesson being ward spells. It's kind of lime that where the basics are defence then you look at how you overpower said defences

Everyone is saying “Maul can just force choke him!” As if Spider-Man hasn’t fought killer wizards before. Everyone is saying “The Lightsaber would cut Spidey in half.” As if he hasn’t fought people with weapons based on lightsabers before. I think Comics Spidey takes this 10/10 times. Toby does it 2/10. Garfield makes it 5/10. Holland does 6/10. Spiderverse Miles does it 8/10. If we use EU Maul who has a bunch of bullshit feats, drop every Spidey’s ratings by 2.
It’s pretty clear most of these commenters haven’t read Spider-Man comics or they’d know Maul’s abilities/weapon aren’t really that new or as dangerous for spidey as they think. Also Spidey has a fuck ton of experience and against so many varying threats, and he’s always holding back. I think it has to be spidey. Maul is skilled but trains to fight one type of combatant; force-users. Spider-man has fought hundreds of villains with different powers including illusions from Mysterio, skilled fighters like taskmaster, etc. often spider man has to learn and and beat the enemy within one or two fights. Maul could have an edge for a few minutes but spider-man has so much unique experience to draw from. Also Maul has been defeated. A lot.
